Stark and Fury Discuss
Date of Scene: 10 January 2018
Location: Triskelion - Fury's office
Synopsis: A meeting about the Helicarriers and Stark helping SHIELD out with new tech.
Cast of Characters: Nick Fury, Iron Man

Nick Fury has posed:
It was another day at the Triskelion. There were several situations happening throughout the world that were causes a lot of headaches for SHIELD. There were few things that were not known by this organization. The thing holding everything together? Nick Fury.

In his office right now, Fury was going through the latest report on Magneto, Alpha Flights inaugural send off, Crimson Tide, and Hydra, to name just a few things on his plate. It was going to be one of those decades..."

Iron Man has posed:
While actually coming to the Triskelion itself is not that outlandishly bizarre for Tony (although it's up there), the general other information and intel about Tony Stark is more concerning. That he's given some 'gifts' recently to their medical team was strange to begin with.

Tony is quite possibly a pod person. Or, maybe he has been replaced by a shapeshifter, or has some injury that's influencing the behavior. The last is actually the closest to the truth: smart intel gathering will provide that Pepper has been doing some heavy scouting on a number of high caliber heart surgeons. And Tony's behavior meshes really well with that Tony is no doubt the person that research is for.

This meeting is supposedly unrelated: mostly about upgrading safety technology on the helicarriers that Stark-Fujikawa originally built with some new repulsors. Because crashes are bad.

The STARK branded helicopter lands about ten minutes after it was expected. Tony and his entourage make a minimal scene, considering, before Tony finally is led to the director's office, shooing his various people away to go have something to eat in the visitor cafeteria. He is still in a debate with the last of his aides as he's brought into the office door: "Yes, I'll remember you, you won't be left behind," Tony assures the poor assistant, as if it may have happened last time. Perhaps.

Nick Fury has posed:
"Come in." Fury says through the door, as the voice recognition software opens the door. That way, Fury could stay seated, and the doors would open. Easy. His eyes are on the latest report from Agents Barton and Johnson, and his frown was deeper than normal. One more thing to worry about.

As Tony STark enters the room, Fury looks up, and takes in the man before him. Standing respectfully, Fury offers his right hand to shake, and says, "Mr. Stark. Welcome to the Triskelion. We have a lot to talk about." Fury waves the level 3 Agent away, letting her know that it is okay to leave this man with the Director. She nods, and exits. The door closes behind her.

"Have a seat please, Mr. Stark..." Fury says after the pleasantries are over.

Iron Man has posed:
"Director Fury. -- It's 'Tony' though, please," Tony says with a flash of one of the charismatic, sleek smiles he's well known for, approaching and accepting the handshake with a cool, relaxed manner. He's dressed immaculately today, and looks the part appropriate to his reputation. Well, the non Iron Man part, that is. He plucks his sunglasses off and slips them inside a pocket inside his suit jacket, heading to a visitor chair once the greeting is completed, crossing one leg over a knee, reclining back in it.

"A lot? Well, at least one or two things, unless you have more to spring on me," Tony smiles. "Did my gift find its way to you, or did our good Agent Barton 'forget' it?" Tony questions.

Nick Fury has posed:
"Let's skip to the important details, Mr. Stark. Tony." Fury makes the adjustment easily. "Gift...I think it may have gotten lost in transit. I'll have to bring that up with Agent Barton...I assume they were of the highest quality?" Fury allows himself a brief smile.

Then, his frown returns, and he gets down to business. "Why we're here...one or two things indeed. SHIELD needs you to update our current technology, especially the tech on our Helicarriers. Our new flagship, the ODYSSEY is having...issues. If you would be so kind, would you make the arrangements to update our systems? As soon as possible of course. No need to gouge us with your prices for a service call."

Fury regards the man with an appraising air, taking in everything about him. This was Fury at his most diplomatic, trying not to let sarcasm or criticism slip into his voice.

Iron Man has posed:
Tony's being ... Tony. Which means that it might be hard to judge exact level of seriousness here. "Just as well I brought a replacement. We'll bring those in before I go," Tony says, of the cigar gift. "Absolutely. Wow, good to feel needed, huh?" Tony grins but then adjusts, business hat on. "Well, I've prepped full spec that includes what can be added. Certainly can outfit them with the latest, across the board, or you can pick. Most of the upgrades are heavy software, for the primary systems, but the repulsors, for improved mobility - that's nearly exclusively hardware." Tony's chatty. He pauses. "If you have something specific you're going for too, do let me know. I can, of course, do anything," Tony half-kids with a wink, and open spread of both hands.

He fishes out a weird little blue object out of his pocket while he talks, as if probably just wanting something to fiddle with. One might at first think it could be related to the discussion, or some tech, but it's not. It's just a little squeezy plastic thing.

"ODYSSEY's misbehaving, or just old?"

Nick Fury has posed:
"Hmmm..." Fury nods, and takes a moment to think about all of the additions that Stark mentions. "Anything huh? I imagine so." Fury pauses. "Misbehaving. Not old. She's the newest and greatest. Just some growing pangs I think. Agent Hill was most...vocal in her assessment of the...engineering involved to screw it up...and I use G Rated words here, so I am misquoting."

Fury shakes his head, and adds, "I am sure we can get this done as soon as possible. I can also appreciate your other...responsibilities. We're willing to expand or ETA a bit so you can continue your "extra-curricular" activities. And I don't mean of the feminine kind."

Fury tosses the man a data pad with a list of requirements, requests, and an encrypted folder containing an update to any files that were previously shared amongst Stark, the Avengers, and SHIELD. "Oh, and try not to charm any of my Agents on your way out Stark...Tony. They tend to come back slightly damaged." Fury crosses his arms across his chest.

With that, both men get down to work going over the needs of SHIELD, and what Stark could provide. After all, it wasn't every day Fury had Stark this close, and his undivided attention.
