Thor has posed:
It's a fairly normal day for New York and people have been rather well behaved with their internet finally being back on. Thank you Tony. However the man of the hour isn't here and yet the god is, and he's standing near the edge of Manhattan with his thick arms braced against the barrier out looking upon the bay.

"This day has grown incredibly boring." Says the god of thunder before a single bolt of lightning reaches up into the sky from the tip of the Statue of Liberty's torch. A red arc of electricity screaming up into the sky with skeleton shaking thunder following afterwards. The bolt reaches up several hundered feet before stopping in the middle of the air and forcing open a blackhole in the sky with red corona of smoke or light spilling out of the rift.

As the sphere of other-space opens wide and larger, a long tentacle with suckers the size of dinner plates trailing down to the size of simple pen tips as the tendril of pink and mucus covered flesh reaches out of the blackness and down towards the statue.

Thor straightens up with a smile upon his lips and a hand lifting over his shoulder. "Oh ho. YES!" The man says with his booming voice as he draws forth his mystic axe and coils his legs to try and leap towards Elis island.

Power Girl has posed:
Karen Starr, the otherwise normal mantle assumed by the blonde heroine known as Power Girl, is on a business trip to the Big Apple. These things are average and normal for her- but today is entirely different. Seated in a remote office for STAR Labs, and doing a small bit of paperwork to finish out the day, it seems without provocation that she suddenly pauses.

The untrained eye might see this as a strange occurrence, but Karen- well, she can hear some horrible portal in the sky ripping open. This, she understands to be a problem, as it is not mere thunder in the sky.

In response, she offers this light stretch, popping her joints lightly and departing the solitary office for a side room- which she is in for only the space of a few nanoseconds- she's already changed before her business suit has hit the ground.

Through the air streaks a pink blur, which for a few moments skirts the outside of the portal's reach, the woman known as Power Girl taking stock of the monster invading this reality.

Thor has posed:
Thor misjudges his leap through the air as he is oft to do when he's on Midgard, and so he splashes into the water near the famous island with a heavy spray of water hitting the sides of the island.

While up above, the lone large tenticle continues to slip and squirm out of the dimensional gap and reaching downwards and flailing for some sort of solid grip on this reality as yet at the very end of it's limb, the thing has reached far enough to brush the tip of the Statue's torch. That is all the beast seemed to require and it's flailing becomes something even more hungry, grabbing lady liberty's hand and pulling itself further out of it's home.

Thor climbs up the rockface and his axe digs into the concrete easy as he plants it there in order to remove his soaked sweater and run a hand through his dripping locks of hair to move them out of his eyes. "Have at thee beast! I, Odinson will be your doom this day!" He says with almost glee in his voice as he grasps his axe, and prys it from the ground before leaping upwards.

Power Girl has posed:
After a moment of appraising, Power Girl notes the presence of Thor- his leap a little bit misjudged, but otherwise he seems just fine. She pauses in the sky, watching Thor practically challenge the monstrosity even as it clings to the statue and starts to pull itself free.

With a shake of her head- she doesn't really understand the culture of Asgardians, but she can at least respect the nature of it and let it be. However, the beast climbing through the portal? She can't very well just -let- that happen.

Rearing backwards, her eyes glow with crimson energy and she unleashes a blast of heat vision- precision focused on the tentacle. She hopes to cut clean through it, but she's ready to begin making circles, if the lazers of her eyes even seem to be doing anything at all.

Thor has posed:
The god of thunder's blue eyes do spot the red beams of heat errupting from the flying blonde woman and he smirks as the lasers pierce and cut into the tentacle, but it might not go through the being like butter as she was hoping, but it's an incredibly deep laceration. The thing reacts rather quickly for it's size and letting go of the statue, the limb lashes out with a rapid whipping motion towards anything it can reach.

Then a sudden second limb starts to birth through the hole in the sky and forces the dimensional portal to increase in it's size as the powerful creature continues to enter this world.

Thor lands on the lip of the torch as the beasts limb snaps at the flying being that dared attack it with piercing heat. Once on the platform, Thor holds his hand onto the rail and lifts a foot onto the metal bar as if he's thinking about attacking the thing in the air via a massive leap. Yet his hand and axe begins to sparkle with a flash of arching electricity trickling across the metal of the axe.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is trying to burn the tentacle away from the statue, and that she's met with some success is enough for her... Right now, anyway. When it lets go, she lets up, preparing for it to do the same thing that any other being would do when confronted with the heat of the sun focused through the eyes of an angry alien.

The first blow puts her on the defensive- she's not necessarily interested in testing the strength of the beast, and grappling with it is a little too... Japan, for her. For the moment, she avoids and evades, doing her best to prove a difficult target to engage while, hopefully, distracting it from Thor.

She doesn't know the man- but she knows -of- the man, and when he begins conjuring lightning, she begins firing more heat vision at the beast, striking at literally any tentacle that she can, firing those lasers again and again.

"Do you know anything about this thing?" she calls, audible even over the noise. Girl's got some powerful lungs.

Thor has posed:
As his legs constrict and his muscles tense for that brief moment, Thor lights up with a single blue bolt that pushes him upwards further into the air and as the god rises swiftly, he lowers his axe with both hands on it ready to sever at the beasts flailing limbs along with Power Girl's laser-eyes.

The shockwave and the BOOM of thunder fills the air actually drowning out Thor's primal battle cry as he rises into the air with branches of lightning splitting off and away from him in several directions towards the copper statue and also upwards towards the creature's limbs as the second one pushes through further to be almost equal to the original invader. Despite his yell and the thunder, Thor understands Power Girl and with his axe getting buried into the fleshy tenticle. "I say to the nay! I just know it does not belong on Midgard!"

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl offers this little sigh, at that. "Yeah. Thought so." she responds, as Thor takes the battle to the tentacle in much the reckless way that she was trying to avoid. She stays further back for the next few moments, pressing the attack in order to finish severing the first limb that had made its way through the portal.

Once it's severed, though, as she only flyer, she'll have to make due with a fastball special- which is trademark the x-men, so she doesn't call it that- swooping down and, at a swift pace, reaching to grab ahold of Thor. What she's doing will be plainly evident as she points to the new tentacle. "Get ready!"

Then, shortly afterwards, she'll throw him at the other tentacle- more power in that throw than there would be if he'd jumped from such uneasy footing as a falling tentacle.

Thor has posed:
"I am readyyyyyyyy!" Thor screams as he held onto Power Girl's hand for a brief moment before being flung by the incredibly strong woman. The god's face and cheeks and beard flapping in the atmosphere that he is streaking through at a speed that he wasn't exactly prepared for. The god brings his axe to strike with horrifying precision as he burries into the beast's mucusy epidermis and slices through the top layers of it's muscle as he does a spiral upwards on the exterior before finding the suckers and is grabbed by his arm and held in place by the monster's powerful graspers.

Power Girl has posed:
Thor was, in one or two senses of the word, not ready. However, in the ways that mattered, he had just as many faculties as he needed in order to carve his way into the exterior of the tentacle. That was good. Power Girl's attention then goes down to the falling tentacle. There's a loud POP in the air as she pushes past the sound barrier, catching up with the meaty appendage and diverting its fall to somewhere less damaging than the island itself.

It won't take more than a second or two, but for that second, Thor has to fend for himself. Once she's finished handling that emergency, she'll be back into the heights of the sky, hooking around the back of the tentacle, now on the opposite side.

"This is going to feel weird! Flex when- well, you'll know."

Then, taking an incredibly deep breath, she exhales sharply, and impossibly cold gusts of wind erupt from her. The beast is from a different dimension- and she hopes it's not a cold one, as her tactic is to freze the tentacle so it's easy for Thor to break free.

Thor has posed:
The mucus is a good sign that it's not from a cold dimension, or at least not one that freezes often and so Power Girl's awesome breath washes over the wriggly, bleeding limb. The thing becomes cool to the touch, then it's movements slow down and it starts to pop and crack.

While wriggling his own arms and leg against the suckers, Thor frees a single hand and begins to bash and punch at the creature over and over until he's caught by another sucker. "BLASTED FOE! RELEASE ME!" He booms his demands upon... does this thing have ears?!

Thor flexes his broad shoulders and snaps his legs out when he feels the cold and it's not quite time. Eventually he keeps trying and eventually the thing shatters! This is when another problem springs up, Thor without his hammer cannot fly, and instead, he begins to fall rapidly.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl isn't necessarily unaware of this issue. After all, she'd just dealt with it on the on the other tentacle- she severs it, and he falls. She wastes no time handling it, flying downward and extending the proper hand to reach for his free hand.

It'll be the same routine if he grabs and the monster is still coming through the portal. She knows she's not exactly saving the man- after all, it's -Thor-. But, the beast must be slain, or driven back. Hopefully, that will happen now that two limbs have been lost.

If not, she'll ready the Thorcannon to fling him at a new tentacle.

Thor has posed:
The beast seems to stop it's assault on our world, no longer does the impossible black sphere linger above the statue, as it slowly shrinks back down to the nothingness it once was. For this day the beast has lost two of its ... unknown number of limbs. The two heroes know nothing of the creature other than it's enormous in size, and can be cut as well and frozen and burned through.

Thor dangles with his arm stretched up and the god clings onto his axe with his other hand, and his blonde hair furling in the wind. "You are a brave warrior and you fight well!" The god says, blood and gore and pieces of ice in his hair, and on his arms and face, and really all over. He's not really in the cleanest state of his life, and yet if it helps, he has certainly been dirtier.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl effortlessly holds up the muscular Asgardian, and then for a moment, considers depositing him on Ellis Island... But instead, she starts flying him back towards the shore from whence he'd came. "Thanks uh... You too. Thought you had a hammer?" she asks, unaware that the circumstances might be... Tender. In the meantime, it only takes a few seconds or more for her to get back to the main portion of New York, as she happens to fly rather... Swiftly.

Thor has posed:
Thor looks up to the far and away stronger being and sees a warrior he couldn't best. And that makes his blood boil, but he hides that fact pretty well. He's been in enough conflicts to know when to go after an opponent or when to keep his oafish mouth shut. However she then has to go about and talk about his hammer. "Yes, indeed. My hammer is my prefered weapon." The god says sounding awfully calm but with his eyes facing forwards towards the docks of Manhattan that they fly towards. "Mjolnir has been... misplaced." He says as though it was the instructions to a bicycle that was designed in switzerland. Like it's not a big deal when anyone who knows anything knows that's a HUGE deal.

Power Girl has posed:
Admittedly, it'd come down to a lot of things- but Power Girl is, frankly, overpowered. So is everyone from her species. It makes their near extinction a crying shame, really. Now, she's never met Thor before- but even she knows that it's a big deal for it to go missing. She figured it might have been destroyed, or more likely that Thor had simply moved on to something he thought was more practical and capable in the axe.

"Misplaced, huh? Well, I wonder what can be done about that... I'm not going to ask if you know -where- it was misplaced. If you did, I'm sure you'd have found it. What -can- you tell me about its disappearance?"

By then, she's setting him on the pier- not gently, necessarily. Dropping him a comfortable height so that he will feel neither helpless nor aggressed, before setting herself down, and folding her arms.

Thor has posed:
Thor lands on the ground with both legs, bending just slightly at the knee and he looks up, his attention staying on Power Girl as she lowers herself and he cross his own arms before his chest before he answers her own question. "I dropped it a while ago when I entered Midgard and I have since called it to my hand without any response, which means it's either found a new wielder, or it's no longer in the nine-realms. So your initial guess was right, I do not know where it is currently."

Thor says looking down to her feet in embarrassment as he does feel like he's not himself when he doesn't have his hammer in his hand or hanging from his belt.

Power Girl has posed:
"Or," she posits, raising one thick arm and offering a single finger, "Something else entirely. Those are the two things you think of that are the most likely, and trust me, you're probably not wrong. But we can rule out some things, I think. First, if someone had found it, we'd know by now. Second, if it were somewhere else in the nine realms but otherwise safe? I think we know a person or two collectively that could find it. But, if you lost it here- if it left your grasp here... " She then folds her arms back up.

"That means that maybe, just maybe, there's someone -here- that -does- have it, but they didn't 'find' it as much as they waited for it to be something they could steal. Somehow. Do you know anyone like that?"

Thor has posed:
Thor keeps his arms crossed and listens to Power Girl intently as she speaks this third possibility. Then once he's formulated his thought on the possibility he speaks again. "Odin is the only one else I know of... besides Beta Ray Bill, that can lift the hammer and I am almost certain that neither of them are here in Midgard. I believe completely that they would have made themselves known to me immediately."

Thor ruminates with a glance towards the blonde alien and taps his foot. "I do like the way you're thinking though... Golden Heroine." He says, naming her based on her hair like he does most women.

Power Girl has posed:
At this point, she can only really nod along. "Well, that's the most I can do for now. I will say, though, that nothing I've ever known that is anywhere near as powerful as that hammer was completely untraceable. So wherever it is, there is a way to find it. Of that, you can be sure. We just have to find that way."

Floating, then, up into the sky, she gives a casual and friendly salute. "I go by Power Girl. Suits me pretty well, but I'll keep Golden Heroine in mind if I ever need a change of moniker. Good luck out there." she states, before fully intending to fly off.

Thor has posed:
Thor's voice is heard before he even enters the bar, or more, his laughter. The god steps into the doorway with a booming cackle escaping his mouth before he hollars with his powerfully deep voice. "Barkeep! I request your stoutest drink! I want to awaken with the remorse of a night not remembered!" The god says with a smile as he steps to the countertop and drops a purse filled with gold coins onto the bar.
