Synopsis: After watching Kori streak past with her hair on fire, Power Boy flies after her, they exchange sad stories.
Cast of Characters: Power Boy, Starfire

Power Boy has posed:
It is the wrong time to watch the sun set. Power Boy is perched on the top of one of the prettiest women on the planet; the Statue of Liberty. The brawny yount man is leaning against one of the crown spires, looking East out over the water. His arms are crossed over his chest, but not in the closed off way. Rather, it is a satisfied way. The spire casts a long shadow over him and might make him a little difficult to see.

The reason why is obvious, the water dances in the fading light streaming over the west. His sigh is soft, warm and quiet. His blue eyes are large and full. He is just standing there, in quiet contemplation of the majestic, shining, sea. He tosses his hair out of his face as the wind plays with it. "Hellfire. Beautiful.' He murmurs to himself.

Starfire has posed:
One's eye might be drawn to a red streak going from south to north - a contrail of fire... which is coming... from a flying girl with orange skin - her hair appears to be on fire and is emitting the light. Unaware of the Statue of Liberty's newest 'crown jewel', she continues flying, not going that fast, heading towards Titans Tower.

Power Boy has posed:
Speaking of beautiful. Regardless of the woman's proportions, it does look like she is hurtling therough the air at great speeds with her hair on fire. There is no way tha tis normal or healthy. Power Boy gives a grunt. From the corner of a green eye, the Tamaranian Princess can likely see the broad-shouldered, black uniformed figure rise, effortlessly and at rapid speeds from out of the shadowed crown of the Statue of Liberty. His course is clearly an intercepting one. 'Ma'am!" He calls out n his deep, powerful voice. "You are on fire!" there is a small 'whump' as he goes supersonic, and angles towards her at multiple values of the speed of sound. A mach cone of the water vapor below glinting and dancing in the light of the slowly setting sun. The colors from the sunset far off in the distance ripple and waver in the cone as he rockets towards her.

He either intends to attack, or to 'save' her from her burning hair.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r whirls suddenly at the intercept, staring at the figure heading towards her as she assumes a combat stance, not sure what to expect, her hair's glow dimming as she stops actually flying... the appearance would be menancing - except for the plastic bag of groceries danglign from one hand. "I am _not_ on fire!" she calls, her eyes glowing bright with emerald green as she prepars to dodge or attack the one intercepting her.

Power Boy has posed:
The male figure hauls up short at that. "Woah!" He hold sup both his hands. 'No need to get in a fight over it. It looked like your hair was on fire. If my hair was on fire⦠i'd want someone to put it out!" His own stance as he slows is guarded. He is superlative. The former warrior-slave-princess can see the balance in his stance even though he is outwardly at ease. His eyes linger on her.

Not in the way that most Terran males eye her though. His eyebrows inch upwards. Power Boy's voice is quietly impressed as me murmurs, "Someone taught you how to fight." He sounds surprised, but in the happy way, not the derisive way. Like he found a twenty dollar bill in his coat from last winter, delighted.

His eyes regard her, and he tries interlac, >Power Boy of earth, formerly of Apokolips.< He taps his chest, having a care. He thinks she is of Tamarran, but he is unsure. >What is your name? Do you need assistance?<

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods slowly, tilting her head, her eyes' dangerous glow fading to their normal hue. She notes several things - that you aren't just ogling her - but are actually taking her aerial combat stance seriously. She was a dangerous foe and was impressed that this person recognized it. However - then you started talking in a language unknown to her. So - since you weren't in an aggressive stance, Kory decides to learn your language - by moving towards you and pressing her lips against yours in a brief but intense kiss. She pulls back, and then, in a perfect though slightly accented take on Interlac, asks, >I'm sorry, could you please repeat that?< she asks curiously.

Power Boy has posed:
Okay. So, she kissed him. Yes, he kissed back. He might have put a hand on her hip, but he didn't grab her backside! There was some tongue, he'll own that. He was surprised! His eyes open wide, and he regards her for a long moment. "You got it wrong. You need to try that again." Power Boy is a little deadpan in the delivery, but it's been awhile, but that is what he calls a greeting!

At least he does not swoop in to try to get one of his own. He tilts a brow. "Tamarran?" he doesn't speak in Interlac, that would ruin what he said, instead speaking to her in English. His left brow is drawn low over his wide eyes in a slightly bemused, uncertain expression. He taps his chest. "Apokolips, originally. Terra, now. Power Boy. And you are?" he pauses. 'Your name, rather. I mean, obviously you are friendly, but, uh, what is your name?" his left hand rises to push his hair from his face.

he hastilly adds, "I am usually a better kisser than that."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r smiles faintly. "Yes. I am Koriand'r of Tamaran. You spoke in a language unfamiliar to me and obviously have powers. My people have the ability to learn languages by physical contact with others... it's more fun to learn via a kiss." She smiles faintly. "And once you determine I'm not a foe, you start the ogling. I'm used to it. Apokolips... that's... a dark place. A place I hope never to go..." She trails off. "For it might be too close to past expereinces..." she mutters. "I live here now... hiding from my kind."

Power Boy has posed:
"Sorry. You kissed me. It feels like ogling is a fair response." Power Boy doesn't sound sorry as he shrugs. That being said, itt stops. "Koriand'r." he gives a polite little nod of his head. He doesn't give a name other than Power Boy. "It is a dark place. Have a care. You just learned the language of Apokolips and New Genesis if you can learn more than one language at once. Be careful where you speak them. It can result in many very determined foes."

"Though given your obvious training, you might prove a match for most." It sounds like a complimentary tone. The wind plays with his hair. "I can relate to being in exile on this planet. I betrayed my God and King when i chose earth over Apokolips in the invasion. I betrayed my people for a little blue orb." His eyes no longer focus on you, but all that water. "I do not think there is so much water on all of Apokolips as there is in this one ocean. It's so beautiful here." His blue eyes return to her. 'What did you do that was so bad to earn your people's hate?"

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods. "Point taken." She turns to look down at the water, her hair still dimly glowing. "My sister... was removed from contention for the throne due to her disability - that turned to hate... she conspired with our enemies, razed our world with them, and threw me into slavery. It took me... years... to get free. And I and the few brave souls that went with me are on the run even so - the Starfire is out there, trying to find other rebels..." She sighs. "But this isn't suitable company for a first meeting - thinking of where you came from... got me thinking of my past."

Power Boy has posed:
"it would be hard to go from a palace to go to a slave pen. Likely a gladiator arena?" Power Boy indicates. "Your stance, it leads me to think you were a gladiator." he explains.

Allowing the wind to play with his hair and hers for a moment, reading the melancholy in her emotional aura, and drawing on all the books he has read about dealing with trauma, Power Boy very tentatively offers. "I was spared the palace. My name⦠really is Power Boy. Darkseid gave it to me, after a lifetime in the slave pits, as a warrior slave and being experimented upon." His tone is controlled. "I⦠appreciate how much that hurts? To not be a person, but to be a thing. To do horrible things to others, and to do them just so they stop hurting you." His words are carefully measured. "The first rule of life is to survive, Koriand'r. You can not make things right, or bring justice to those who hurt others if you are dead. I, at least, didn't know any better until I got here. I am very sorry you experienced that." His words are at times halting, but always sincere.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods. "The training was royal education from the Warlord of Okarra... I was... in a different type of slavery. With its own pains. I will speak no more of it." She shivers. "Actually... my captors did an experiment on me. Which made me... more. Better. Stronger. I used those abilities to break free. Slay my warden. Steal his pet. Liberate a starship, and with some others who joined my cause - we got free." She turns to face you. "You are not there anymore either. This is a more innocent world that knows nothing of our hardships... they have had some slave issues in the past - but most of this planet is over them." She smiles faintly. "Do... you have a place to live?"

Power Boy has posed:
"I got lucky. I was put in touch with an individual who helps people who try to help this planet. She gave me an identity, she helped me take money from evil men, and give me a nest egg. I have a modest home where I live with my little dog."

The male reaches for her wrist. It is a gentle gesture. "I call him Kirby. He loves me. Nothing ever loved me before, and only one person has since. She doesn't anymore." he is sad about that, but he seems to suggest he's starting to get over it. "That being said? It is a far better life than i ever thought i would have, and most days it is a better life than me, a cold-blooded killer, really disserves. I am angry. I am hurt."

His shoulders tighten, then roll in a shrug, not an attack. 'So, i go to school, so i have papers that say i know things, even though i know things that so many people here do not know. I travel the universe. I help people. I was at a soup kitchen. I do the dishes, at superspeeds. Everyone is happy, because they get to go home sooner." his grin is boyish, maybe a little flirty, but not disrespectful. "It's a really good life. A little lonely, but this place makes me happy. I can die tomorrow, and I will die happy."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r smiles. "Yes... to die happy..." She smiles faintly. "I stole the warden's pet after I killed him. Robbed his vaults. Have a decent nest of eggs myself as My friends here call it like a giant moth larva. His name is the Silkie. He's my darling little bumgorf." She hmmmmms happily. "I came here because Sector 2814 is a bit of a backwater, little goes onhere - thought it was a good pace to hide. My first acquaintance on this world was a member of a hero team called the Titans." She points towards a distant tower, lit up in the darkening sky - a tower shaped like a T. "I live there. I fight evil. I eat the pizza with the Silkie and go to the mall of shopping with my friends. I even have made some income as a model. Most are not perturbed by my differences for they admire my beauty... even with the growing anti-mutant sentiment - sometimes I'm called such."

Power Boy has posed:
"You are lovely." She is. "You wanted me to stop with the ogling though, so i will also declare that you are a  little slim hipped." Power Boy's lips quirk in a little bit of a playful smile at his cheek, but he adds, "Beguiling all the same." He wrinkles his nose as his left hand pushes his hair out of his face. "Tamarran must have lower gravity, as you are rather tall as well. I am uunused to women being taller than I. It is not an entirely  new experience, just a rare one on this world."

His grin remains there. "It is good to have friends. Pizza is one of my favorites, but I find i like the spicier foods of this world. Maybe it reminds me of home." he gestures off towards the distant 'T' tower. "I should pay more attention to the hero groups. I have heard of the Titans. I was far more worried about trading some favors for Asylum. My people killed many Terrans. SHIELD is rumored to do very bad things to those of my kind still on the planet. I also have some technology from home I should prefer they keep their hands off of, for their sake." His shoulders lock in place as he considers what could happen if that were to happen.

"I am happy to have met you, Koriand'r of Tamarran. You are a very beautiful person. I do not mean your outsides." He gives an airy gesture. "You have a beautiful emotional aura. You do not let the bad things make you a bad person. I admire that."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r smiles faintly. "All I have is a communicator that can call my ship even at great distance... I did not bring any technology with me on purpose for fear of what it could do..." She trails off. "Emotional aura?" she asks, puzzled. "You some kind of empath or something? Interesting." She hmmmmms faintly. "I tried working at a soup kitchen once... it did not go well. They asked me to leave. Apparently, I can't cook... and what I did manage to create was inpalatable to everyone else. Humans have such odd taste buds... would you care to go somewhere more solid than hovering by the Statue of Liberty? The Coast Guard might start getting suspicious after a while."

Power Boy has posed:
It takes the young male from the evil world a few moments to process that. It was a simple query. "Uhm?" He verbally stumbles for a moment. "That⦠would be nice." Power Boy decides. His smile goes up several 1000 lumens in brightness. "I may ogle a little." He warns, lifting his left hand and holding up a single finger as if stipulating that now.

He adds, "The Coast Guard would be very ineffective. I do not think there is a mundane power on this planet that can harm me, and very few exotic ones." he likes the planet, but they are obviously mostly backwards primitives. Charming ones, to be sure, but primitives regardless.

"I am an empath." he admits. "Receptive, not transmitting. I cannot manipulate your feelings. I can basically do almost everything Superman can, except my senses are more normal, and i do not have laser eyes." he does manifest a large greenish-blue question mark behind him. "I can manifest emotional constructs of various colors instead." it turns into a hand, and pushes his hair from his eyes before evaporating into the aether.. "Where would you like to go?"

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r grins. "And you aren't powered by the sunlight either?" she asks. "The experimens - they gave me... laser eyes - but I prefer to do this." She lifts her hands and it's shrouded in emerald energy. "Starbolts. Concentrated solar power." She spreads her hand and it is absorbed back into her hand. "And I like ogling, on both sides. Constructs like a Lantern... how interesting." She pondres. "Do you have a.... ummm... normal name?" she asks. "I mean, something that is not like a superhero codename? Like I use Starfire in such circumstances but my actual name is Koriand'r. I know you said you had no name to begin with - did you find one?"

Power Boy has posed:
His eyes widen in appreciation. "Those look impressive. Do you have a vast tank like a Kryptonian, or is it more limited? Like a Terran battery?" he considers. "My powers are part of who I am. They granted tome from beyond the wall at the edge of the universe, the Source. I am what I am, and there is no changing that. I cannot control what abilities i was granted, as they were granted for a reason, and even darkseid himself could only experiment to grant me a greater link to the Source." He speaks of the Source with reverence.

"Yes. Supergirl called me her beau. She also suggested some false Kryptonian God of Wisdom, Telle." There is scorn for this false deity, but it evaporates. "I was  naive, and so my earth name is Beau Telle, which I suppose is as good a bit of nonsense as anything else. I should have gone with something stronger, like Max Steel. Perhaps, instead, Max power? Power Boy, Max Power, clever?" He is definitely making fun of himself. He shakes his head. "I want laser eyes. So unfair." he makes a slightly off put gesture, still making fun of himself. "Power Boy works as a name. It's just a name. Maybe one day, when I stand over Darkseid's smoking, headless corpse, I shall find another."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r smiles. "I sometimes go by Kory Anders - I write that on any Earth paperwork necessary, like my modeling contract." She slides a hand into a pocket and pulls out a simple yellow card. It just has a pair of foiled green eyes and a phone number. No name. "Call this number - it is my cellphone. And I have a surprisingly store of solar power in me - I wear clothes like this for three reason - they're comfortable, they look good on me, and they help me absorb more sunlight even without focusing." She smiles faintly. "I would love to have the constructs - but we should each be happy with our gifts." She smiles faintly. "Until next time. We will meet again." She smiles. "Call me! I have to get back to the Tower." She then flies off back to the T-shaped tower.
