Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Ares, Power Girl

Ares has posed:
It was a beautiful day in New York City...or rather, a beautiful evening. The sun was just coming down, leaving a beautiful sunset to be beheld. Witnessing it was many, but only one was of importance in this particular moment.

Ares, Mars, the God of War, however you want to call him, was sitting at the edge of a rooftop, black double breasted coat over his shoulders, a dark red shirt underneath, and black cargo pants. combat boots on his feet. Out of all the creations of gods, the Sunset was his favorite by far. He wanted no more war...he was tired of death. But the sunset? The sunset was his only sign of just..inner peace, aside from his child son Alexander (Phobos).

He drinks a small cup of water as he takes a small breath, watching that horizon. and on his face? The warmest, beautiful smile on his face.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl doesn't typically venture into New York, but today is slightly different. There have been reports of the Hulk downtown, and though she does desperately want to solve the situation... She has to admit that it's not her jurisdiction, and taking on the Hulk in the middle of the city is probably not going to result in -less- property damage.

Therefore, slightly visible in the sky, Power Girl floats by on some form of patrol, taking things slow so as to not disturb the skyscrapers or call too much attention to herself. To the keen eyed, she's not necessarily obvious- and she's all but invisible to those with less capable of such precision.

Ares has posed:
Ares was just sitting there still, and he made no motion to move or stop what he was doing, though what he did see was Power Girl, flying across the sky. While Ares didn't deny that she was extremely beautiful, even he feels like he can only stare so long, so he whistles at her. Not in a cat-call kind of way, but in a 'hey you!' kind of way.

IF or when Power Girl looks over to him, he gestures her over and lifts up a giant jug of liquid. Perhaps inviting her to drink with him? Who knows.

Up to her though!

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl's attention is primarily in the direction of where the Hulk should be, but it does shift. As soon as she hears someone whistling- clearly in her direction, it causes her to look over and... Spot Ares, wagging some sort of jug at her. She raises a brow, some level of doubt and curiosity mixing in her features.

In the space of an instant or two, she's down near the rooftop. Not necessarily the most aggressive of ways to arrive, but not necessarily peaceful, either. She remains silent, expecting Ares to announce his intentions.

Ares has posed:
Ares takes a sip now of that true Olympian beer he was drinking, opening his eyes to see Power Girl right in front of him! But he doesn't even look partially scared, just a friendly smile for her. "Care to join me? Best spot in the city to watch a sunset...aside from outer space, that is." He smiles to her softly, grabbing a second cup from next to him and he offers it her her, patting the spot next to him.

"This time of day is the best....though, if you're looking for the monster that rampaged through here, heroes are already on the scene, I think. I'm too weary of all this to partake." He shrugs lightly, looking her right in the eyes.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl folds her arms, looking altogether nonplussed at the invitation. Whether it was because it came from Ares, or because it was a rooftop offer to drink, was not necessarily clear. "I prefer to watch mine from above the atmosphere, when I do. It's not something I typically tend to watch, regardless. I'm more of a sun-RISE person."

She shifts her attention towards where the Hulk is/was, and offers a minor shrug. "I'm keeping an eye on them."

Ares has posed:
Ares looks towars that way, the sound of those roars still present, but his eyes fall on Power Girl. "Suit yourself. It's some rather extravagant liquor though. It may even buzz a Kryptonian. Oh well." he does offer her a drink though, setting it on the ledge where she would have sat. "Sunrises are also extraordinary...I personally like to sit out here when both happen. Reminds me how beautiful this world is..how it's worth defending, not burning it down."

He shakes his head though. "But...it's just the ramblings of a God." he shrugs then. "Me too." he adds to her casually as she admits that she's watching them.

Power Girl has posed:
Shaking her head, Power Girl offers a quiet response. It's not a soft tone, but nothing she ever does is in a tone like that. "Listen. I'm not looking to get drunk on a rooftop with someone I don't really know at all, regardless of your intentions. Especially not with big green only a few tens of miles away wrecking everything he can."

"I'll take you on your word that you're looking to turn over a new leaf. Really. And if you ever decide to really -do- something other than nothing- which we all appreciate, I'm sure- if you need my help you can just shout, I'll hear it." she states, before returning her eyes to Ares.

"But that doesn't mean that we're on good terms yet. Definitely not on drinking terms."

Ares has posed:
Ares looks at Power Girl, lifting up a single hand. "Easy there hotshot, I have no intention of getting you drunk. Who knows what could happen if a Kryptonian were to find themselves completely intoxicated by a drink? Could destroy the city." he says then. Ares may be fun loving, but he's not stupid by any means. But he does not. "Relax, those other heroes have him covered." he can feel the conflict from here. "But as you say, keep an eye on them."

"Well, congratulations, you would certainly be the first to -actually- believe it. Thank you for making my day." he says in an actually warm manner. "all I want to do is rest, take care of my son, and live a normal life. But then, the world comes calling and drags me away. Being left alone..maybe remarrying..just to live a quiet life. That is all I ask for myself." he shrugs then. "I wasn't expecting us to be. Especially since Diana curses my name every chance she gets. But I don't blame her. It's how she was raised."

Given, they'veh ad their spats like all siblings do.

"It was only an offer of a drink. I care not if you actually take it." he smiles to her softly, sipping his drink.

"So then, how was the day of Power Girl?"

Power Girl has posed:
Though seemingly distracted still, Power Girl's response doesn't take all that long to come. "Yeah, they can have him covered all they like. He's been covered every time he's shown up for the last several years." she notes, her eyes drifting back towards something in the distance. She can see the fight happening of course, with a combination of her microscopic vision and the x-ray.

"I'm the first to do a lot of things." she offers, "You've never been one of the assholes I haave to throw into space on a regular basis, so the wound isn't as 'fresh' as it is for Wonder Woman, but that doesn't mean I don't know what you're capable of. Do I believe you'll stick to it? No, do I think you deserve a chance to do so without being jumped every time one of us sees you? Yes. Just means I'll hit you a whole hell of a lot harder if you do fall off of the wagon."

There's a momentary pause, then. "Good luck on remarrying, though. I don't think any of those Olympian goddesses are single and looking anymore."

Ares has posed:
Ares nods softly then, sipping on his drink with a careful and knowing nod. "I'm well aware. You forget...the Hulk has been one of the fuels of conflict in the world for some time now. Poor Dr. Banner." he says then with a small shake of his head. Either way, he turns his head to her as she speaks about what she thinks about him.

"Hmph...I have a laundry list greater than any who walk this earth. More than likely...I cannot be redeemed." he doesn't look at her, he looks only at that sunset. "My redemption is my son. That is all...I doubt I can ever find such a thing as love again. Don't mock me please...I had long given up on marrying Aphrodite when my bastard of a father gave her away to Hephaestus. I was their war dog for years, treated as dirt. I care little for my godly kin." he says then, clearly struck a nerve.

"Well, thank you for you, albeit momentary, beleif in me." he shakes his head. "Though maybe someday I would welcome a battle with you, today...is not that day." he says then. Nor will it be any day soon hopefully. "I know what I am."

Power Girl has posed:
There's a small scoff in response to that. "Yeah, I feel sorry for the guy, but sometimes, you have to punch him back to sanity." she states, letting her arms drift downwards to place her hands on her hips.

"I don't need to know about your son, or your love life." She states- not a mocking tone, but more a matter of professionality. Ares wants to be left alone- she's giving him that. She almost seems happy to. "You're free to do what you like, if I ever hear about any of it, I'll respond accordingly. Otherwise, I'm happy to hear absolutely nothing to do with the name Ares." That statement is followed by another pause, as Power Girl seems to be drifting back off into the sky.

"That's where you're wrong, though. You would never welcome a battle with me."

Ares has posed:
Ares scoffs softly. "...maybe someday, you won't be so passive aggressive towards me...because no one ever doesn't care." He shrugs then, before he waves her off. Though her words about him never welcoming a challenge from her makes him laugh. "Child, I have destroyed worlds. I fear nothing, not even you, or your cousin for that matter." He says then, looking directly at her before he rises to his feet. "Feel free to take the rest of hte liquor. I have no need of it." He puts his hands in his pockets and starts to walk off.

Well, least Ares and PG bonded...kinda.
