Who's Asking
Date of Scene: 07 May 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Gigas has a job to do.
Cast of Characters: Mon-El, Gigas

Mon-El has posed:
Starsreach Spaceport is somewhere on the outer edges of the Nova Empire. It is one of the busiest ports out on the fringe, with a majority of all travel into or out of Xandarian space passing through that particular facility. As such, it's often bustling with people of all shapes and sorts and sizes, all going about their business--some honest, and some not.

On one of the lower level (aka cheaper) docking bays, however, a sort of commotion has broken out. The sound of engines blowing out can be heard, and then some indignant shouts.
"Hey! Hey the hell was that for?! That was -mine-! That was--!"
"Yeah, and it was contraband. These substances are banned in Xandarian space."
"And who are -you-? Nova Corps? Ha, you are gonna pay for that one, son."

Gigas has posed:
It seems like there's always something going on, especially in this particular part of the sprawling space port. No wonder there's such a high turnover rate with security here.

Not to far where the shouting is going on abou the contraband, a moderately sized freighter-ship is haphzardly parked, taking up a few more docking and loading areas then it should be if the pilot had of actually managed to set the ship down properly..and then on top of that, there's the fact that it's been sitting there entirely to long, more then a day even, and so has contributed to the bottleneck of loading and unloading going on in this stressed out part of Starsreach.

It's not abandoned though. Strange music blares from within the area of the ship that would be its massive cargo hold and the ship occasional rocks as if some great weights were moving around on the interior. All in all, the ship is pretty trashy looking with gaudy artwork of scantily clad Xandrian, Kree and Shiar women painted upon it and dull greyed out colors everywhere giving it all the quality of some tacky 'space-truckers' ride.

The local Xandarian security has had enough though and a security chief raps loudly on closed cargo hold trying to get the attention of whoever is blasting music within. "Open up! Starsreach Security!!"

The other guards with him have their attention split between that and the commotion going on with the engines blowing out nearby.

Mon-El has posed:
"No, I am not going to, because you -don't- want to start a fight with me." Lar states, because honestly, it's true. And he demonstrates by crushing a large empty metal crate into a ball as if it were made of paper with his bare hands. Fortunately, this is enough to intimidate the criminals into submission. Going to a maximum security prison on Xandar Prime wouldn't be as bad as getting crumpled like a rag doll, and for smuggling they aren't even likely to end up with a fate quite as severe as that.

So, they and their contraband are presently turned over to the Starsreach Port Authority, which is run by Nova Corps, of course. But once that's all squared away, the officers have one more small request to make of Lar. See there's this huge, terribly parked freighter over there that has overstayed its welcome and is also occupying half the maglocks from one bay and half of them from the neighboring one. And they're getting a lot of complaints, given how busy and crowded this place is...

Lar sighs and rolls his eyes. "All right, all right." he marches up to the airlock behind the guards. "Whoever you are in there you'd better move your tin can now, or else I'm going to have to move it for you." And he means that literally.

Gigas has posed:
"Thank the stars. Thank you." remarks the security chief to the approach and intervention of Lars. As to the freighter itself...

Well the music continues to blare loudly, barking out lyrics in some rough language that the local translators are having trouble keeping up with but that is far from harmonic or..well..even consistent. It seems musical but really it might just be noise. At any rate, it eventually quiets down and then ultimately comes to a stop all together. Then there's the groaning sound of metal and a faint rumbling sound. A series of booming muffled impacts as if something impossibly huge and heavy was drawing nearer. There's an odd pressure that seems to fall over the area, with the guards looking more and more nervous in anticipation of whatever is inside of that ship.

They don't have long to wait. With a hissing of pressurized air being released and a groaning sound of massive metal doors being hauled upwards..the cargo bay begins to open up..revealing a gigantic mass of blue-skinned muscle. A wall of flesh that literally seems to fill up all fields of vision no matter how wide the doors open, simply revealing more and more and more of this titanic figure. The guards step back immediatly as the titan is slowly revealed and then even moreso as the behemoth ducks his head and begins to squeeze his immensity out of the ships open port and into the wider space of the bay area. The entire room seems to quake as he steps forward and descends down into the star port proper.

Gigas yawns, opening his mouth wide and stretching his monstrous arms up overhead before lowering them and then rubbing his nose and sniffing, "Hmmm? Is it time, already?"

Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah, it's time to move your ship." Lar informs the gargantuan alien, hands on his hips. The guards look a bit nervous, but he doesn't by a long shot. Really, he's seen bigger. And he also probably peered inside the ship a while ago anyway so he already saw how big the guy was. "Or else -I'm- going to move it for you, and you're going to owe these guys a few thousand credits in fines."

Gigas has posed:
Taller - perhaps - given the scope of the universe but Gigas' build is one for the record books though certainly such a thing may not matter to the likes of a Daxamite Prince..it has the Xandarians backing up. The behemoth doesn't answer right away but instead peers at the prince and the guards with hazy sleepy eyes..that is until an incessant beeping sound begins. He looks around, swiveling his head from left to right like the movements of a tank turret given the insanity of his build. He then seems to figure out what's beeping and he lifts his right arm up and then taps at the grey metallic bracer upon it. One of the panels there flashes abit and suddenly Lar finds himself being scanned by a ray that drifts up and down his body.

<<CONFIRMED!>> beeps out a robotic voice and Gigas suddenly grins, full toothed, like some Great White Shark smiling at a minnow. His physique begins to swell even bigger.. tendrils of energy crackling around him as the giant grows more awake and more excited.

"Oh hoh! It's you! I've been looking for you!" he rumbles, bass voice shaking the nearby ships and vibrating the ground. "..You are...Prince Lar Gand of Daxam..yes?"

Gigas begins stepping forward now, thundering fully off his ship and drawing nearer to the Daxamite with the big full toothed grin on his face. "I am sent. Sent to find you and ask questions of you!"

Mon-El has posed:
As Gigas advances and energy crackles around him, the security guards back up even more, their eyes widening. They might even be trembling a bit. They've seen a lot, working these docks on the fringes of the Empire, but this guy really is among the largest they've seen. They're glancing at each other, questioning whether they should just back off since it -seems- like the Daxamite has this situation well in hand. Everyone knows Daxamites and Kryptonians are among the most powerful in the galaxy, after all.

Lar arches a brow at the towering individual before him when the scan sweeps up and down, correctly identifying him.

"That's Crown Prince to you." he remarks, pointing out the fact that he is indeed the chosen heir to the throne. Not that he's really that proud of it, but position sometimes proves to have some clout with certain people. "What questions, who is asking?" he inquires.

Gigas has posed:
"Hm? I am asking!" responds Gigas, as if that was already supposed to be obvious. He then seems to get a clue and he rumbles, "I am called Gigas." No other explanation seems incoming for now as he instead reaches up and fiddles with the bracer on his meaty wrist.

A holographic image soon pops up. It's a girl, humanoid, but she has bat like wings. "I am told, Earthlings call this..a demon? Or at least it looks like one." he rumbles and then he leans forward, making sure Lar can see the image projection clearly.

"...Where is she?" he rumbles, directly, "You will tell me."

Mon-El has posed:
"I know you're asking, but you said someone sent you, so what I meant was who is -really- asking?" Lar observes the image, recognition appearing on his face. But then he frowns and folds his arms. "And what makes you think I should trust you?" he questions. He's not stupid, he doesn't just hand out sensitive information to anyone who happens to ask.

Gigas has posed:
"Ooooh..so sorry. Can't tell you that. Don't know! Job is anon..but worth lots and lots of money." The big guy purses his lips as he speaks and then allows that huge grin to return once more.

"Trust? Is not issue of trust. Just information and business. You tell me, I pass the information on. Very simple, no? Simple economics. IF you do not wish to tell me, I am to convince you to. But you will tell me, yes?"

Gigas inclines his head in expectation, his smile close lipped now and an eyebrow arced up just ever so slightly.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar narrows his eyes at Gigas. Hmph...he is starting to seem more and more like one of those merc types with no moral boundaries. As long as money was involved, they don't usually care what their client was planning on using that information or item for.
"Simple, sure. For someone who doesn't know right from wrong, nor cares to know." he quips. "Unfortunately, that's not me. But, since that seems to be the rule for you, why don't you go and find out just who your client is, and then pass the information on to me--that way, I won't have to steal your comms array and use it to track them down myself."

Gigas has posed:
"Tth. Hn. Shame." Gigas clucks his tongue into the roof of his mouth, "Speak to me of right and wrong but then threaten to steal something that is not yours to satisfy your curiousity? Ah well."

GIgas straightens back up to his full height and declares, "I have boundaries but this is not one of them! Very well, I am to 'convince' you..." He considers Lar as if appraising him and then nods his head, "So you are Daxamite yes.. I am told they are quite strong.. I do not wish to 'break' you...only convince you...so..I am maybe thinking I need to hold back a little--"

As the giant begins rumbling about this, the security forces panic. One or two seem aware of the behemoths identity and they wave their arms frantically, "Hey, wait a second. You can't fight here..! Hold on here--"

Mon-El has posed:
"It's not just curiosity you dolt, it's concern for a -friend's life-!" Lar shoots back, glaring up at Gigas. "Stealing a replaceable object is hardly a question worth pondering when someone's life is at stake." The guards are indeed starting to panic, but the Daxamite ignores them. He has this under control, really. "Now, you tell me everything you know about your client. I won't ask you again."

Gigas has posed:
"Friend?" Gigas seems to think this over. This is news to him, it seems. "Life at stake? Well that seems rather over dramatic..."

Still, he seems to be considering matters. Perhaps he has a heart after all, so to speak.

"Eh." he ends up rumbling, "I'm sure you'll work it out with them later. Anyway, so sorry, even if I knew I'd be obliged to not tell you. I have to continue to be able to get jobs, you know? Must abide by non disclosure agreements and all that."

That grin returns again and he holds his huge hands out helplessly, "Now then..if it is as you say..shall I have to 'convince' you now?"

Mon-El has posed:
Lar's eyes blaze angrily with a brief flash of a red glow when Gigas seems to have a rather blithe attitude toward entire ordeal, even having the nerve to call it 'overdramatic'. Thing is, someone has already made an attempt on her life, and it wasn't pretty. He has a fair idea where this is coming from, but needs to be sure of the exact source. After all, he isn't the type to go committing mass genocide just to get at one particular group or individual.

He suddenly dashes forward, attempting to fly right into Gigas and push him -far- away from Starsreach or any other densely populated area before smashing him into the ground. If they're going to have to fight, it had better not be close to any innocent bystanders...

Gigas has posed:
The impact produces a thunderous sonic boom and a shockwave that causes even the largest of freighter ships to rock back and forth and alarms to resound as the bottom level of the station shakes and recoils. The guards are sent t umbling aside like drywood in a wind storm, but are fortunantely far enough away by the time Mon-El attacks that they suffer little more then mild bruises. As to Gigas...

The blue brute is indeed pushed backwards but almost immediately the Daxamite Royal senses incredible counter pressure making the goliath difficult to simply lift and push airborn, as if some vast well of weight and immensity is was suddenly turned on that would push the Crown Prince straight into the ground if he were to relent for even half an instant. The two burst through the walls of the port and out into the desolate rocky terrain, leaving a trail of holes which are rapidly sealed by forcefields in their wake and also two massive grooves in the ground from where Gigas' feet are pushed backwards. The goliath doesn't even double over and instead stands straight upright, that big grin still on his face, as the world blurs past him and Mon-El as if the Daxamite was shoving an unrelenting upright wall. When Mon-El finally relents, the brute continues going a few dozen yards, eventually slowing to a stop, still standing upright and his massive arms at his sides with fingers tensing. .

"That was amazing!" he rumbles, voice strangely cheerful. "Now I now why the deposit was so big! Oops, I don't know if I should have said that. Anyway, incredible! Are all Daxamites like you?"

He steps forward, lifting his huge frame up out of the giant grooves in the terrain and beginning to now approach Mon-El with fists slowly clenching and the ground shaking and rumbling with each footstep.

Mon-El has posed:
Well it's a good thing Lar isn't standing on the ground as a localized earthquake is effectively created by Gigas' massive footsteps. Still floating in the air a few feet off of the ground, he doesn't dignify the mercenary with a response to the question, but instead unleashes a blast of thermal vision straight at the man. Yeah, that's what that red flash was a hint of earlier. This guy is definitely huge, but is he as tough as he looks?

Gigas has posed:
"You know.." continues Gigas, "If I wasn't as tough as I am..that shove might have killed me. It would have anyone else. You are..more ruthless then I expected. Or did you assume I was that strong?" The fact that Lar isn't answering isn't exactly deterring the goliath either as his flurry of questions continues. It's almost as if he's wholly detached from the severity of the situation, not even processing what is fully at stake here. "Why won't you tell me about this girl, hmmm?" He begins just as the Thermal Vision unleashes itself upon him.

The blast furiously roars into him, but versus burning thorugh his body, the energy splays from his body every which way as well as warping around him, forming a network of energy beams that blast out and carve explosive grooves into the rocky terrain.

Gigas himself keeps coming but his grin fades into a look of some consternation and annoyance and he lifts one massive hand up to push back against the vision revealing smouldering scorch marks along his body where the energy blasts persisted. With a burst of movement, he leaps, sundering the ground behind him into a huge depression as he crosses the distance between himself and Lar in a flash.

Upon landing his massive fist comes around, starting low and then arcing up in a huge uppercut that carries with it force to start a seismic event and hurtle some individuals into the atmosphere from the force of the blow. The sonic boom of the swing rippling out loud enough to be heard as far away as the port.

Mon-El has posed:
"Of course I knew you could take it, I can see through pretty much anything, genius." Lar retorts when Gigas calls him ruthless. "But I don't even need to do that to tell that you're enormous. I don't know of any enormous guys like you who are just made out of pure gelatin or something, do you?"

And then Gigas is charging toward him with that massive uppercut. The laser blasts continue until he has reached melee range. Lar is fast, and therefore excellent at dodging, but Gigas' fist is just so -huge- that he has to move farther than usual in order get fully out of the way. As such, the punch clips him just enough to send him flying upward a good few thousand feet until he regains control of himself in the air and comes back down, aiming to divebomb his opponent and smash him into the ground with a force even greater than that generated by terminal velocity. I mean, there are already craters from Gigas stomping around so why not make another one right?

Gigas has posed:
Purple energy like that of crackling lightning, begins to ripple its way around Gigas form as his eyes glow and his grin widens once again..all because Lar took that hit and is still going. It eggs the brute on and as he grows more exicted his restraint lessens and his body begins to visibly swell and grow. Muscle piling ontop of muscle in a sinewy display of immensity as his height also slowly creaks up more and more. He's gained a coule of feet by the time Lar is nearly upon him, a thirteen foot tall monstrosity who braces his body at the last instant and stretches out with a single arm to try and catch hold of the Crown Prince.

The result is a roaring impact that indeed forces an ever widening crater and sends shockwaves and quakes racing as far back as the starport. Around the two combatants the landscape decompresses in more and more, looking more like a masive lunar crater then anything else as Gigas' massive legs remain braced and his body trembles, from the kinetic force roaring into him.

"Wow!!" he roars, cheerfully, as if he was Lar's biggest (literally) fan and this wasn't a desperate fight over the safety of the Prince's friend. "That is..what is Earthling word...Yes..that is awesome!!" His conversation is casual despite his huge arm quaking and his muscles bulging up towards sizes comparable to small ships. It should be apparent to the Daxamite now. Gigas is strong.. REALLY strong.

"...Are you ready to tell me about your friend now?" he rumbles while grinning once more. His free hand clenching into a fist slowly. The sound of knuckles cracking like that of canyons splitting open.

Mon-El has posed:
Gigas' flippant attitude is -really- quite infuriating, when Vicky, the girl his client is after, is someone he truly cares about. "Not awesome -enough-." he growls, and pushes harder against the man's massive arm. Sure, Gigas might not be giving way any time soon, but the ground sure is, cracking and crumbling under the mercenary's feet, a deep chasm starting to form. At some point, it's all going to snap and cave in...on top of the one who cannot fly. This strategy had worked for him against Juggernaut, another being who was as strong as the Daxamite, but who also didn't have the flight advantage. Hopefully, the locals will appreciate some different terrain around here. Maybe some extra canyons and valleys? It could be nice.

Gigas has posed:
"Ooooh? You have more?" rumbles the giant, "Good! I will use just an itsy, bitsy more strength then.." The implication being he's still holding back..frighteningly enough. Hyperbole or is the giant not yet tapping into his full reserves? There's a sense of effortless play to his attitude, at the least.. Perhaps unsettling.. Certainly infuriating.

The Juggernaut comparison is apt though but few things in life happen exactly the same way and there are differences between the two unstoppable forces. For one, Gigas immense size and strength is letting him use just a single arm to keep the Daxamite at bay and the other arm which had been clenching a fist the size of a boulder, pumps back - a bicep as big around as Juggernaut's waist, pumping up huge and horrifying as that same cosmic energy surges through and around the behemoth in visible energy tendrils. He then hurtles that fist straight at the Daxamite, once more intending on slamming it into his entire body to send him for a full ride in a full on demonstration of the power at the blue titan's disposal.

But nature will also have its way and the sheer force of this blow contributes to Lar own effort. The earth splits apart into a massive depression from the incoming shockwave and Gigas legs slip, losing purchase -just- as the swing threatens to connect...

Mon-El has posed:
Lar is bodyslammed by the massive fist, again sending him upward, but the third law of thermodynamics indeed also comes into play, with the force of that recoil pushing right back down. As the Daxamite is flung away, the ground under Gigas' feet splits open and suddenly threatens to swallow him up. Lar had been slowly driving his opponent into the terrain, but perhaps he had abruptly run into a cavern or some large hollow space below, the roof of which the giant alien has just smashed through.

As for Lar, he goes even higher this time, disappearing out of sight. Whether that's of his own volition or from the force of the punch is not quite clear.

Gigas has posed:
"OI!" shouts Gigas as he goes barreling through the surface into a subterranean opening, perhaps hallowed out in the early days of the building of the starport and long abandoned since. It's of no particular interest to him though. Who cares about the why in this case.. merely the what. He slams down, bursting through old abandoned equipment and with the upper surface raining down onto him as he begins to push back up to try and rise back up again.

"Hey!!" he roars, shouting above the noice of the collapsing cavern and thundering loudly though any sane person would assume the Daxamite is out of earshot.

"..You didn't tell me about the girl!!"

And with that the place fully caves in, burying the giant under the tonnage of dirt and stone.

Mon-El has posed:
Well actually, Lar isn't out of earshot. He'd have to be past outer orbit for that, which he isn't. As a matter of fact, he's already on his way back, smirking with satisfaction as what appears to be an abandoned underground facility caves in on him. Oh, and to start dumping giant boulders on top of it just to make sure, too. "Heh, works every time." he remarks to himself.

Then just before Gigas is buried completely, he calls out in reply to the mercenary's exclamation. "Wasn't planning on it!" Then there's a distinctive boom as he zooms back off into the sky and far out of Gigas' reach. No doubt, the hulking brute will get himself out of his predicament eventually, as massive and strong as he is. But Lar will be long gone by then.

Gigas has posed:
The brute just.more or less lays there. In fact, unknown to Lar is the capability of the goliath to leap and to leap miles at that..but instead, versus trying, he delays as if considering multiple matters and then by the time he opts to move, Lar is piling more boulders atop him to pack on the weight. "Huh." he rumbles, opting for momentary restraint in consideration of all this.

"..I hope I don't lose the deposit."
