Cast of Characters: Witchblade, Ghost Spider

Witchblade has posed:
Finally....after a long day of things mostly uneventful on shift, Sara Pezzini is now walking home. She has a car, but she left it home to stay in shape. Not like she lives too far from the precinct anyways. She was also looking for a suitable clothing store. She usually seems to but a new wardrobe just about once a month now. Boy is she glad she got that raise.

Ghost Spider has posed:
Backpack with a few changes of clothes, costume and a pair of beat-up drum sticks? Check. Hoodie and t-shirt on her back, faded black denim jeans and skater shoes? Check. Looks like Gwen has pretty much everything she owns with her. It had been nice, staying at Karen's, but as busy as she seems to be, and as much as Gwen tends to be out and about... well, Gwen didn't really feel right with the whole staying at Karen's apartment. And if all else fails, the attic at the movie theater in Queens is still accessible.

She hadn't really realized that she was in Manhattan itself until seeing Central Park a few hours ago. But now, she's moving down the street, occasionally pausing to look in the window of some store or another, doing her own brand of window-shopping.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara and Gwen, rather ironically, come to the same window. Plain ordinary clothes on the cheap. Complete with Blue jeans, t-shirts and the like, but Sara's not exactly looking in the window just yet. She looks over to Gwen and tilts her head. "Hey.....You okay? As dumb as this sounds, like look like you just ran away from home....."

Ghost Spider has posed:
Gwen looks over at Sara, startled as she's spoken to, and umms softly. "Me? I'm... fine. Yeah..." That sounded totally convincing. "As far as home goes... well... long story, that. Let's just say that going home isn't really an option."

Witchblade has posed:
Sara takes a breath at that. "Is it that bad?" She then gestures. "How about we talk about it? If you don't mind that is. I'm Sara Pezzini. I need to get a few clothes anyways...." And she starts to open the door for Gwen.

Ghost Spider has posed:
"It is what it is, and I've accepted it. I mean, I could get mad and all, but what good is that gonna do?" Gwen shrugs after a moment. "I'm Gwen. I'll look around, but... don't really have any money. Looking is the best I can manage." Even so, she moves to step inside.

Witchblade has posed:
"All right Gwen. Just, let me know when you want to talk about it." Sara then shrugs. "Don't feel bad. I was in your shoes until fairly recently. Except I was living out of my car. Everything I had was in my car, luckily." She says as she picks up a few pairs of pants, and some shirts....and some look to be in Gwen's size. She tosses a couple of jeans and shirts to gwen. "Give them a try."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"It's not that I don't want to talk about it, so much as the fact that... well, it's pretty far out there for people to believe." Gwen smiles faintly, catching the jeans and shirts. "Teal and pink, and black and white jeans. Not bad." She hmms, looking around for a moment. "Ahh, there it is," she says, heading for the changing rooms. She pauses, though, then turns back, walking back over to Sara and unslinging her backpack from over her shoulder, handing it over to Sara. "Here... don't want anyone to think I'm trying to steal anything." Then she heads back with the jeans and shirts to the changing rooms.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara actually laughs. "Believe me. I've seen some 'out there' stuff in my line of work." She says as she takes the backpack and slings it over her shoulder. "Good idea." She says as she looks at the shirts she has. "Mmmm....some of them are a bit short. Well...less to shred."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"Short isn't always a bad thing. I used to occasionally wear short t-shirts myself, but usually only when I was with some of my friends, practicing with our band." Gwen's voice carries over from her changing room. "Of course, these days... well, shorter t-shirts aren't always the best thing, even with my hoodies and all that." She pauses for a moment, and can't help but ask next, "Define 'out there', Sara."

Witchblade has posed:
"Only if you promise not to laugh." Sara then chuckles as she leans against the doorframe of the changing room. "Well...I'm a police Officer. NYPD. And, not only to I deal with criminals and boyfriends beating girlfriends, and girlfriends beating boyfriends...yes it's happened, but I've had some encounters with demons and junk like that. Of course, that's off the record. Who the hell would believe me?"

Ghost Spider has posed:
There is no laughter; in fact, there's no sound at all for a few moments. "Well... that is rather out there," she finally replies. "I've seen some things, but nothing like that." She finally comes out, wearing the black jeans and teal t-shirt -- and given the fit, Sara clearly has a good eye.

Witchblade has posed:
"Yeah. I can only imagine." Sara then looks to Gwen and nods. "You have to know how something fits. I'm not fashion designer, but you do have to know, at a glance, how well things will fit. Especially given my figure lately." She then shrugs. "Have a place to stay?"

Ghost Spider has posed:
"It's been a while since I've had a chance to do shopping for clothes," Gwen admits. She looks over Sara and hmms softly. Part of her wonders at whether or not she should really accept the offer, especially since it's coming from a member of law enforcement, but... even webslinging her way back to Queens, anything's better than that attic. "Not really," she admits. "I pretty much just... find a place where I can hang out. Some places are okay, others... well, not so much. At least I know how to take care of myself when things hit the fan."

Witchblade has posed:
"Well....I think I have a fold out cot you can sleep on in my apartment if you want to stay there. I keep my fridge decently stocked as well, but I'm in and out of the apartment at all hours being an officer." She then starts to hand Gwen her backpack and...some strange reason, the top opens....and Sara catches a glimpse of a red and white uniform there." Sara just glances....then closes the top, giving Gwen a meaningful look....but smirking a bit. "I imagine we'll have more to talk about if you take me up on my offer."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"That's something I'm used to, given where I'm from. Dad was a cop too, back in the day." Gwen pauses as the top flap of the backpack opens enough for Sara to see inside, and she winces a bit. "That's... putting it mildly," she says, taking the backpack. "I'd better grab my other clothes -- they aren't much, but they're what I've got, you know?" She heads back quickly, reaching into her small changing room to grab her clothes and stuff them into her backpack before getting some cash out from another, smaller pocket. "It isn't much, but I've been saving for a rainy day." She comes back, looking a little flustered, but finally nods. "I suppose you'll want to hear it all... well, it's a bit of a crazy story, but if you want to listen..." She shrugs. "It's sorta rough, though, but telling you my story will help explain why I've been living the way I do."

Witchblade has posed:
Sara grabs the hand Gwen is using to give her the money....and pushes it back to Gwen. "I offered to pay. Keep it." She then smiles. "We're more alike than you realize." She says as she pays for the clothes. "you're staying with me, at least for a while. Just don't snore. K?" She says as she leads them out of the store.....and it's a LONG walk back to her apartment. The apartment is a rather nice apartment in a locked hotel, and they stay rather soundproof in her place. "All right, Gwen. tell me your story while we get out the fold out." She says as she gestures to a closet. it's one of a couple of closets too....mostly filled with clothes...."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"/I/ don't snore, thank you very much!" Gwen smiles, stuffing the money back into her backpack and following Sara out of the store. She keeps up pretty well, though. As she enters the apartment, she looks around, setting her backpack down against the wall in the living room area and moving to begin helping get the cot out and set it up. "I'll give you the Cliff Notes' version: I'm not from this Earth. I actually came from another Earth entirely. There... I got bitten by a genetically-engineered spider, got really sick that night... and the next morning, I found myself... different. Like, wall-crawling, web-slinging different. I wasn't exactly a good person at first, more of looking out for myself. But then my best friend, who I rescued... he idolized me, then got obsessed with the idea of being more like me. He made some serum, turned into a giant Lizard, and I wound up fighting him without knowing it was really him, all to try and keep the city safe. The serum timed out, he transformed back... and died in my arms. That was bad enough, but then my Dad became the head of a task force aimed at bringing me in for the murder of my friend... only to get jailed and have an assassin come after him while he was awaiting trial, all because he chose me over his job when he learned that I was Spider-Woman. I tried to do the good thing, be a heroine and all, and wound up being blown back through some portal that Doc Ock created behind me... and here I am... in a world where the version of me that belongs here died several years back. But... I still do what I can. Great power, great responsibility. I miss home, but at the same time, I can't deny things are better here."

Witchblade has posed:
"I was being a smart alec." Sara says as they set up the fold out cot. "So you're from another dimension, huh? Yeah. I know of a few things that aren't from this dimension. I'm sorry about your best friend, but it sounds like he is alive here." She then sighs a bit, and starts to take off her coat.....and her shirt. "Since you've been honest with me, Gwen....I'll be honest with you." She says before holding up her right arm....and showing a bracelet. "The reason I've been fighting demons and the like isn't because of some odd stroke of luck." And she points to the bracelet. "It's because of 'HIM'."

That's when a strange, dark silvery and scaley substance begins to cover her arm, almost frightening to look at as it happens, but, thankfully...it just covers her hand and forearm. "He's the reason why I needed to buy a new wardrobe this time.....and every other time."

Ghost Spider has posed:
Gwen's eyes widen when she sees what happens with Sara's arm. "'Him', huh? Guys, gotta love 'em, no matter what they look like, right? Tall, dark and handsome... or like a piece of jewelry that turns into an armored gauntlet." She reaches for her backpack, opening the top flap and pulling out the costume -- pink, black and white with teal webbing inlaid. "Unlike another webslinger who's probably a lot better known than I am, I don't have the trademark quips. I can level the occasional sick burn, but that's about it." She hmms softly, putting back the costume into her backpack and getting out a black Metallica t-shirt. "Sounds crazy, but... well, this is as close to pajamas as I have." She sounds rather sheepish about that, admittedly.

Witchblade has posed:
"That's his gender really....'He'. And....it's not just an armored gauntlet. he's a symbiote called 'Witchblade'. And anytime I get into real trouble....he shreds my clothes, which is embarassing to begin with, but then covers me in the substance you see here. depending upon how much danger I'm in is how much of my body he covers. Which can range to as little as a micro bikini to my full body." She then shrugs. "if you get the job done....what do you need sick burns for? It's all the sick burn you need is defeating them." She then looks at her arm. "go ahead back to sleep. She's all right." And the substance changes back to the bracelet. She then looks at the metallica shirt. "I have one of those. Though I kinda think I'm bigger than you are." She then chuckles. "I don't think I've ever met Spider Man. I always thought he talked too much."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"Perhaps a little," Gwen admits as she pulls off the new t-shirt to switch into the black Metallica shirt. "But hey, I'll try not to be too jealous of you, okay?" She flashes Sara a small grin.

Witchblade has posed:
"I'm probably ten years older than you, Gwen. Plus I've had a kid. So don't be too jealous." She says starting to change into her own night clothes, smiling back at Gwen. "so you know....I'll work with you anytime, with or without my badge."
