Volt has posed:
It's been an interesting week. Through a series of incidents, Drake has found himself a member of the Xavier Institute at the tail end - if not after the tail end - of the actual school year. That makes things awkward. Obviously he didn't take the tests to graduate, so he's possibly stuck in an academic holding pattern. He's not thrilled with that, but in all honesty, it's the last thing on his mind. He's mostly absorbed in the fact that he's in a mutant school, surrounded by mutants, and isn't feeling so oppressed. It's an odd way to put it, but it's apt.

This afternoon, Drake has decided to take it upon himself to get a little exercise in. Now that he's getting food regularly, he has energy to burn. The teen is trotting the perimeter of the backyard in a relaxed jog, soaking in the serene setting and enjoying the breeze. Life is good. It almost feels wrong how good things are.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
A blur blasts past the teen. Faint sparks of electricity can be seen in the blur as it moves around the manor. It stops next to Drake and reveals itself to be Kaydin. "Hey." He says as he watches the teen. He smilesa has a box of chinese food in his hand. Some sort of noodles. "You're the new guy." He says as he seems to just now notice the teen being new to Xaviers. "Where you from?" He asks between bites of noodles.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley doesn't think might of the blur at first. It was probably the wind, after all! And at any rate, his mind is elsewhere!

All that goes to pot when someone all but appears beside him. Drake staggers, stumbles, and manages to recover his footing. "Whoa-hey!" He straightens his posture, jog at a halt. "Uh, yeah. I'm the new guy." He squints at him, then lifts a hand to point. "Nice beanie."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Thanks." Kaydin says as he reaches a hand to rub his beanie. He then looks around and then back at the guy. "So welcome to Xaviers, it is about the only place where anyone with powers can go and be safe. My abilities is linked to an energy source which speeds up my own bio-electric energy." He says as he eats. "So got a name? I am Kaydin."

Volt has posed:
"Nope. I was born to really unimaginitive parents."

Beat.

Smirk.

"Drake. Bio-electric energy, huh? Sounds very technical. And that makes you.. teleport? What was that you were doing?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Essentially the energy amplifies my own bioelectric aura to heighten my own sense of time and speed." He says as he throws the box of food in the air and grabs drake. AS soon as he touches him, he feels a staticky energy surround him and he can see the box of food falling at the speed of a snail. It almost bobs in mid air.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley looks up at the box he tosses, expecting to have noodles rain upon him. But before any of that could happen, he's grabbed and the world stops. But that doesn't even register. Thanks to a rougher sort of life, being grabbed unexpectedly triggers some immediate self-preservation instincts. Fortunately those reactions aren't so knee-jerk that he erupts with powers, but he /does/ attempts to sharply jerk back from Kaydin's hands. "Whoa, easy!"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Sorry. Its easier to show it." He says, sounding alot more normal and not so rushed. pulling outside the bubble Kaydin moves with superhuman speed to grab the noodles and finishes them. He blurs out and comes back, with no box in hand. "In a nutshell it slows the world down to the point I can catch bullets in mid air." He says as he smirks at the guy.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley takes a couple breaths, by the end of which Kaydin is back and without a noodle box. "Alright. Cool. That's.. really handy. And don't you worry, I see you zippin' around like a tweaked-out mayfly." He gives a weak grin. "So, wait.." The grin dulls. "..Have people actually shot at you?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"I do a spot of hero work sometimes. Me and another here helps out. her name is Kitora, or Rift as she prefers to be called." He says as he puts his hands into his pockets. "I am from near Seattle. My older brother is a cop and he used to arrest me for vandalism. I like to paint murals."

Volt has posed:
"Wait, wait, wait." Drake shakes his head. "You do hero work? Does the school know? And- and /Kitora/ does, too? That's a little detail she failed to mention!" He glances back towards the school, then again to Kaydin. "How long's that been going on?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"I am part of a team of young heros the school trains. Me and Kitora both." Kaydin says as he watches the man. "I started heroing as soon as I got here. I head home every other day and running back only takes about five minutes to go across the country. I can probably circle the planet in an hour at most."

Volt has posed:
"/What/?," asks Drake. "They do that here!?" He's clearly having a hard time processing this, and even he's at a loss for why exactly. He was brought in by a chick who was clearly wearing superhero-clothes, but Jean skipped that little detail in a huge way.

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Yea they do. You dont have to be a hero but if you want I can ask and see if I can get you bumped into the team. Your choice." He says as he nods. Kaydin then looks to him. "Are you thirsty? I could use a soda. Any particular flavor you like?" He asks curiously.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley gets the feeling this guy does everything fast, but this is leaving him wide-eyed and stunned. "I- wha-.. Kaydin, hang on a second, I have questions! I have /so/ many questions! First, did they train you to do that here, or is this like the chess club? Second, who's in charge of that? Third, do you people got costumes? Fourth, do you have a codename?"

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"First off they train you to be able to use your powers. Wether you use them for good or evil is up to you, but the school wont support evil mutants. Second Scott summers is the guy who tells us what to do. We are called FaXion. Dont ask, he made up the name." Kaydin says as he nods. "Yea we get costumes and codenames, but I havent worked out what mine should be. Terrible at names."

Volt has posed:
"Sonic?" It's delivered straight at first, but soon he's allowing a tentative grin to touch his lips. "Gotta go fast?" Drake couldn't help himself.

After making the joke, he turns aside to wander a few paces away in a daze, simply processing. "I was thinking I'd have to go out and do something like that on my own. The head lady - Jean - she played it off when someone in a costume brought me in here. Failed to mention /any/ of this.."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"Thats because officially the school doesnt broadcast that the X-men use the school as a recruiting ground and headquarters. If you choose to be a hero though they will train you to use your powers for helping others. They recruited me because I would go out of my way to help out and they figured a guy who can run fast would be able to do some good." He says with a shrug. "So do you want to be a hero?"

Volt has posed:
Bombshell after bombshell after bombshell.

"The-.. are you /kidding/ me?," Drake asks. "I had a feeling, but..." Just when he's starting to process one angle, he's given a different one to add to the equation. And at this point, Drake visibly needs a little time to wrap his head around all of this. "I think I need to go to my room for a little bit. You know, like..." His hand raises to twiddle at the side of his head. "...work some things out.."

Kaydin LeGraize has posed:
"I understand." Kaydin says as he pats the teen and he looks around. "If the teachers ask for me, just tell em I went home. I am going to go paint a mural in gotham to batman." He says as he gestures to the direction of gotham. "You cool?" He asks curiously.

Volt has posed:
Drake Riley has basically blown a fuse, and his brain needs a bit of a reboot. "Yep," he says blankly. "I'm good." His left hand lifts mechanically to offer an upturned thumb. "You do you, bro."
