Cast of Characters: Karrin Murphy, Harry Dresden

Karrin Murphy has posed:
One of the worst things about getting old? Hangovers. They sneak up on you without warning and are infinitely worse than the youthful days of being able to drink until dawn and barely feel it the next day. It's like every year the headaches get worse. This morning, after having drank far too much and not having had a single bit of food? Karrin feels like she's sixty. It's the headache that wakes her up first, though she's comfortably curled in his arms and most of her body is happily at ease, the pounding behind her temples finally wins over the comforting ease of sleeping against her best friend.

Karrin gives a low, little groan, turning her head against his chest and burying her eyes a bit deeper against his throat. There wasn't much light in the basement apartment, but anything was too much right now. A few quiet curses escape her lips as she tries to shift closer to him and go back to sleep. It's not going to work.

Harry Dresden has posed:
There isn't many things that rival a hangover for the worst way to wake up. While Karrin starts to stir, the mattress she has been using lets out a little groan of his own.

He isn't hungover, his pain not coming from his head but it emanates from elsewhere. Sleeping in a sitting up position as he leaned against the back of the couch, Murphy in his lap, has done a number on his lower back. This stiffness in his neck from not having any support just adds to the discomfort.

As she shifts again to try and get comfortable, he shifts a bit more to try and help her lay more against his lap and the sharp twang of pain caused by unsatisfaction hits causing him to let out another, more gutteral groan. "OH Hell's bells.."

Karrin Murphy has posed:
The woman is awake enough that she really isn't going back to sleep, no matter how hard she tries. Murphy is unaware of just WHY he's cursing, but she certainly can agree with the sentiment. A little moan escapes into his neck, not the happy sort, and she mutters drowsily. "You...can say that again. I mixed. God...why did I mix? Shoulda stuck with the scotch..." Her words are half mumbled, half concealed in his flesh, and each one probably echoes a nice brush of breath against his throat in ways that don't help any issue he's having. But she's not panicked or pulled away yet, that's a good sign.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Slipping his arm around her, he pulls her in close for a brief hug and a peck to the top of the head, "Because you had a rough day. It's alright, just rel.." and then there is a knock at the door which brings another curse from the wizard, this one a little more vulgar. "Maybe they will just go away..."

No such luck. There is another knock at the door and this one disturbs Mouse, whose head lifts a little and looks to the door to the apartment with a bark. Harry lets out a sigh, and starts to try and slip out from under Karrin without disturbing her too much.

Karrin Murphy has posed:
A protesting groan escapes her lips as Mouse barks at the door, Karrin swatting a hand very lightly in the pup's direction, "Shhhh...Mouse. Maybe, uh... take a cue from your name. Your aunt has a headache." She grumbles. She counts as dog-aunt, right? Well, now she does!

The peck from Harry gets a little smile, though, secret and hidden against his throat. She half returns the hug, almost not quite wanting to let go, but it seems the person at the door is rather insistent. She sighs and shifts back, letting him get up. He might be trying not to disturb her but, really, she's awake now. She shifts forward, feet resting on the floor and elbows on her knees as she rubs fingertips across her eyes and tries to shake off the worst of the hangover. It's not really helping, but it was worth a try. "...please tell me you have anti-hangover magic. You're a wizard. You can do anything."

Harry Dresden has posed:
Moving hurts. If it isn't his back or neck, it is...other places. Harry tries not to let the pain show, but he definitely seems to be walking a little more gingerly than normal. "If I knew ahead of time, I could have made a potion, but I didn't. Best I can offer you is some alka-seltzer and aspirin."

He makes his way to the door and cracks it open, looking out the crack to see who it is. The sight of a small blue pixie catches him by surprise.

"Harry Dresden? My lady bid me come tell thee that A bat man and soldier are telling her to get them a cursed infernal coin from her father. They are located at Nantwich Skytrain station, and she bids you come and make haste." The pixie's job done, it zips off into the sky.

"Stars and stones.."

Karrin Murphy has posed:
Leaning forward still, Karrin sighs deeply, "...Useless to me. What sort of wizard doesn't keep hang over cures just on hand..." she mutters gruffly, but there is an underlying slight chuckle behind her voice. She's clearly teasing him. Not quite as ginger as he's moving, but definitely not fast, the woman unfolds from the couch and tries stretching. Several things pop in her back. "...getting old sucks." She echoes the pops.

Then her brain catches up with what is being said at the door and she blinks. "...What? Dammit... shit. I'll take that asprin now, Harry. And... we should move. I don't trust Batman and Molly not to kill each other. Both their egos are... Immense." At least she's still dressed. It's a quick matter of pulling on boots, though the look in her eyes definitely echoes a headache.

Harry Dresden has posed:
The information takes a brief moment to register before it clicks in his head. Whatever pain he is in, he pushes aside for the moment as there is something far more important to be handled. "Aspirin is in the top drawer by the sink." Harry exclaims as he starts to get his gear by the door together, at least one good thing about falling asleep fully dressed is that you don't have to worry about that. "Let's go!"
