Synopsis: Holly finally makes her official arrival at Xavier's. She is greeted by Scott, Jono and the Professor himself.
Cast of Characters: 64, 34, Cyclops, Professor X

Holly Winters (64) has posed:
It is time. Holly has been itching to get back to school. Especially since she destroyed her last one. After having been invited by Storm and getting a proper tour, The young cyan haired girl has made her choice. Catching a bus, she took what little she had from Bjorn's electronic shop and made her way to the school.

Quietly she enters the grounds, making her way towards the front door. She's nervous. Her body is shaking a little. Sadly it's enough to cause a few snowflakes as she goes. Thankfully they are very much localized and not a full on snowstorm.

Jonothon Starsmore (34) has posed:
Poor Holly. Poor, poor Holly. So very nervous. There are so many people she should meet at the school on her moving-in day. So many much brighter and happier people that would give her such a wonderful view of the school and its students, and cast it in a much better light.

Instead? There is one surly Brit by the name of Jonothon Starsmore in attendance, sitting on the porch. He spends a lot of time outside, since it's safer if he loses control of his powers again. Hey, at least he's not doing drugs, right?

Well, either way, he does notice the arriving girl. And the small, localized sprinkling of snow falling around her. Well, that's pretty clear that she's not a normal student. So he feels no trepidation about greeting her in his particular way. That is, mentally.

{{'Lo there,}} he offers, tilting his head up and back a little in greeting.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott has spent the morning training, but the young man isn't exactly known for his tendency to relax. Down-time is a rare thing, which is why after training, he's decided it's time to cool down with a jog around the school grounds. He's wearing sunglasses rather than his visor, but that doesn't mean he isn't vigilant. The arrival of someone he doesn't know? That deserves a closer look.

Slowing down, he turns his steps toward the front door, taking a second to wipe off his face around his glasses before he gets there. Appearances matter, after all. "Can I help you?" he calls over.

Professor X has posed:
Professor X is out and enjoying the garden. The man sits in his wheelchair as he relaxes on a lovely Friday afternoon, edging into evening. An old, battered book is open in his lap, and a soft and easy smile on his face as he reads. Charles senses the new arrival and glances up from his book. He closes the book in his lap, the title becoming visible on the worn spine. 'On The Road' by Jack Kerouac. He turns about in his chair and rolls out to the front, offering everyone a smile.

"Well, good evening," he offers in that crisp, welcoming voice of his.

Holly Winters (64) has posed:
Holly Winters winces a little as suddenly she's hearing voices in her head that aren't her own. She's never encountered a telepath before and it definitely shocks her a bit. Enough that an icy wind goes blowing through the area. "Oh Sorry! Hello!" She winces a little. So much for first impressions.

Quietly she closes her eyes for a moment, imagining a single snowflake dancing to the ground. It calms her down. Its the trick Storm taught her before. The icy wind stops and even her few flurries break. "Sorry about all of that. I'm not used to all of this yet."

She takes a deep breath and looks to Jono, Scott and the Professor. "Hello. My name is Holly Winters. I'm from a small town in Maine. I sorta caused my old school to collapse by accident and ran away. It's nice to meet everyone!"

Jonothon Starsmore (34) has posed:
Aha, there's one of those happier people now. The one with the sunglasses probably has it in hand. And the Professor would be another one of those 'happier people'. Seems like everything's well in hand, then. Jono's about to return to... well, whatever it was that he was doing. Probably just being a gloomy Gus.

And suddenly there's a gust of cold air! Jono figures it's Holly's doing. But he's not going to judge. {{Whoops. Sorry t'startle yer.}} It is not possible for that mental voice to sound any more British.

He does wince a bit, though, when Holly talks about collapsing her old school. The bottom of his face is wrapped up, though, so half his expression isn't visible. He definitely can't judge her for that, given his own history with personal and property damage. This is likely something Xavier can pick up, too; Holly's comment has reminded Jono of what happened when his powers manifested first. It was... not pleasant.

Though, as Holly's given her name, he offers back simply, {{Jono.}}

Cyclops has posed:
If it's possible for Scott to stand up any straighter, he does when the Professor rolls in. It's not conscious - it's a reflex. He can't help but want to show his best. "We get a lot of that around here," he smiles faintly back at Holly, head turning toward the Professor. "People who've had some accidents, that is. Slightly less of the school blowing up. Usually." There's honesty, and then there's not scaring the new kids off.

There's a slightly awkward look at the last, which he covers by taking another step forward, offering out a hand. "I'm Scott Summers, and I accidentally destroyed my fair share of property before I came here. Nice to meet you, Holly." He nods to Jono as well, a show of solidarity.

Professor X has posed:
"You must be Holly Winters. Welcome to the Institute."

He rests his weathered hands on the book closed in his lap and he glances between those gathered. "Many of our kind have incidents of tragedy in our past, Ms. Winters. What matters more is how we move forward. I hope that we, here at the School, can help you do just that."

He leans forward and offers a hand to her. While he may be an old, bald scholar, his hand has the callouses of someone who has lived one hell of a life. "I am Professor Charles Xavier."

Holly Winters (64) has posed:
Holly Winters smiles a little. She extends her hand to shake Professor Xavier's, then Scott's And then Jono's hands. There is an Aura of cold around the girl. While not extremely cold it is chilly and enough to easily be felt without difficulty. "A pleasure to meet you Finally, Professor. Storm told me about you a little."

She turns to Scott and then Jono. "Nice to meet you Scott, Jono. Nice to know I'm not the only one who messed things up like that. I put a bunch of people in the hospital. Storm taught me a trick to keep myself from causing major problems. I know I was making some weather men pull their hair out recently."

Jonothon Starsmore (34) has posed:
That. See, that. From Scott. That nod, and the admission that Jono's not just a freak even among freaks, seems to help a lot. He'd smile a little if he could. But as it is, he just returns the nod in Scott's direction. His mood does seem to improve a bit. Moreso at Xavier's words. He looks in the Professor's direction, though only briefly. He has a thing about direct eye contact.

He leans against a convenient wall (or pillar), arms crossed over his chest. He might come off as a bit rude since he doesn't offer a handshake to Holly. But when she makes for one, he'll remember manners are a thing that exist, and shake her hand. Then go right back to leaning on that vertical surface.

His eyes narrow a bit in amusement at her words of confounding the weathermen. {{Sod 'em,}} he decides. {{I've been rained on after a sunny day forecast enough ter jus' point an' laugh.}}

More seriously though, he notes, {{...Yeah. Yer don' even 'ave ter worry about somebody not understandin' what it's like ter be at the center 'a somethin' like that. I know I'm not judgin'.}}

Wow, he CAN say more than one word at a time.

Cyclops has posed:
Control is a bit of a sore spot for Scott, but his smile is only a little bit tight when Holly mentions learning a trick from Storm. "If anyone knows how to keep the weather in check, it's Storm," he agrees. "You've come to the right place, Holly. Everyone here is special in their own way, and we're not all perfect at it the first time around. Or the second," he adds with a wry look over at the professor.

Holly Winters (64) has posed:
Holly Winters looks at Jono and makes a little scrunched up face. "I cause freezing rain sometimes but snow is the bigger threat with me. That and blizzards. Thunder Snow... ice... Sleet. That sort of thing." She winces.

Her attention goes to Scott. "I am actually happy to be here. It seems like a really cool place. I hope maybe I can make some friends." She pauses and makes a little face showing curiosity, "Do you all ever do the whole hero gig? I mean. I sorta got caught up in it a few times. Its exciting but scary too."

Jonothon Starsmore (34) has posed:
Jono has a habit of keeping his head down. He really doesn't mean anything rude by it. He IS listening to Scott, though. Clear when, to Scott's words of not being perfect, he offers, {{'Ere, 'ere.}} See? He's listening. Just... his body language isn't all that welcoming.

Holly's question actually gives a good demonstration of something interesting. Jono can apparently 'scoff' mentally. It doesn't produce a sound, it's more like a 'bubble' of sarcasm that 'pops' gently in the minds of those nearby. {{I'm no bloody hero,}} he notes dourly.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott looks over to the professor for a moment at the talk of heroics, then back to Holly. "Everyone has different skills and wants different things out of life. Some people just want a safe place to learn, where they don't have to worry about being bullied or blowing up the building. Other people want to have the chance to go out and make a more...concrete difference, something they can see."

It's something he's been struggling with lately, in fact. Hopefully one day there won't be a need for us to do the 'hero gig' just for the right to be ourselves, but we don't just let injustice stand, either." Which is to say, they totally do the hero gig.

Holly Winters (64) has posed:
Holly Winters blinks a few times. "Oh umm... Sorry. I was at a museum yesterday and I sorta got pulled into the whole hero thing. I didn't get hurt... Though I may have given a really big woman a bad case of frost bite..." SHe winces a little bit. Occupational hazzards it seems.

"I was just curious is all. I mean I am not actually looking for trouble." She blushes a little bit and her flurries start up again.

Jonothon Starsmore (34) has posed:
Jono doesn't respond to Scott's words of... well, any of that. Just having powers doesn't mean one is hero material after all. It's so terribly random. But when Holly mentions giving a really big woman frostbite, Jono seems amused.

{{Good on yer,}} he offers to her. {{'Spose she was up to no good. Yer don't seem like the type otherwise.}}

Cyclops has posed:
"Nothing to apologize for," Scott shakes his head with a reassuring smile. "There's nothing wrong with taking action in the world, so long as it's done right and responsibly." Something suggests that this particular young man doesn't really know another way to do things aside from 'right and responsibly.' His head tilts slightly at the uptick in flurries, holding out a hand to catch a snowflake in his palm. "You're going to be a big hit when summer comes."

Holly Winters (64) has posed:
Holly Winters laughs, "I bet. I think I threw Storm off a little bit. She said she'd never found anyone else with powers similar to hers. Mine aren't exactly the same. They just revolve around Winter Weather." She blushes.

She holds out her hand and ice begins to form and take shape, ending as a snowball. "I can make simple shapes in a hurry. More difficult ones take a long time. "Oh and I guess I can make it really cold."

Cyclops has posed:
Scott nods, watching the snowflake melt in his hand before wiping his palm on his shorts. "It makes sense, making things cold. The snow has to come from somewhere, after all. Not that I'm the expert, of course," he adds with a brief, crooked smile. For all he tries for warmth, it's clear he's still just not the most comfortable with idle pleasantries. "I'm sure Storm or others can help you grow and understand your powers while you're here. Speaking of, if you're settling in, then you're going to need all the paperwork."

Paperwork! This, Scott can handle. "Transcripts from your old school, or even old report cards if the records were destroyed. Most places keep digital these days, though. Then they'll get you set up with some placement tests, make sure you're in the right classes."

Holly Winters (64) has posed:
Holly Winters nods, "yeah. I guess that means everyone gets to see how crappy my grades were. My parents were getting a divorce and I sorta protested. My grades went down and I sorta did a lot of stuff to make it clear how mad I was. Even got a tattoo." She laughs

"Anyway Camden High. They should have the records. Not like I flattened the whole school. They can transmit them." She sets her items down. She really doesn't have much.

Jonothon Starsmore (34) has posed:
It's true Jono's not particularly social. So, with the conversation going on healthily without him, Jono moves back to where he'd been when Holly showed up and sits down again. His posture here isn't particularly unwelcoming, he just doesn't want to distract from the conversation when he doesn't have much to say. He is, after all, not much less new than Holly, only having been here a handful of days, maybe a week at most. So there isn't much information he can give. Besides, Scott can probably handle it.
