Balder Odinson has posed:
Now that the small drama of the relationship between Balder Odinson and Hermione Langdon has been resolved with an impromptu wedding in the woods. Balder's mind turns back to the issues he'd been avoiding in his new bride's embrace.
Asgard was destroyed, his parents were dead or presumed likely to be dead. He didn't know exactly what has become of his people. But he knew he couldn't continue hiding this fate in this small farm in the middle of nowhere.

Balder has asked Hermione to use her avengers contacts to find out a way to get him in touch with what remained of asgard. She didn't get in touch with Thor but managed to get a hold of the Valkyrie Vintridr whom was working with SHIELD and now is back serving what remains of Asgard. She agreed to meet with them.

Balder grabs Hermione close and thrusts Aurvandil into the sky and they are in an sintant transported to norway. Balder doesn't know where exactly they are but they are someplace near thor since thats what his sword did transport them to Thor's vacinity. "She must be close by and must have noticed our arrival."

Radiance has posed:
With the wedding having been secret, the newlyweds need to keep their relationship clandestine. Her parents believe the pair to be engaged and are helping to plan a wedding for next June. Can the couple keep things secret for that long?

Hermione decides the best way to keep her parents from finding out that the wedding is just for their benefit, and for the legal paperwork, is to go back to New York and take up her job with Stark Industries again and her training under the Avengers. After getting settled back into her apartment, having to explain to her room-mate that Min's bedroom is now Min and Balder's bedroom, Hermione heads to the Avengers complex to find out what is going on. Norway.... can she fly all the way to Norway? Well, she could. Easily. But carrying Balder? And how exactly would she carry him? In her arms? On her back? She's never tried carrying someone while flying before.....

But, it turns out that is a moot point. When she tells Balder what she's learned, he scoops her up in his arms and they are suddenly transported in a column of light and wind and sound. Well, that was a first. She is clinging to Balder when they arrive, looking wide-eyed and a little stunned. "Next time you decide to do that, could you warn a girl first? I think you left my stomach in New York."

Vintridr has posed:
Well, these certainly aren't Asgard's fabled marble halls. Balder and his bride are standing on a makeshift wooden dock on a beach in what looks and feels like Scandinavia somewhere. Around them, until about five seconds ago people were bustling, unloading goods from transport ships and moving them to the arrangements of containers turned into temporary living spaces.

Further down the path, a nearby mountain appears to have most of its top removed, and the first layers of white stone suggest that a new fortress has begun construction, but that's a long term concern compared to the fact that everyone within earshot is staring....

Of course, the shock doesn't last long, because this is not an unknown, and very soon the shouts and cheers go up. "Balder!"

"The Prince of Asgard has returned to us!"

"Lord Balder, welcome home!"

    We thought you lost, lord!"

Balder Odinson has posed:
Balder looks around for a moment there is a bit of sadness in him. He had been sad that it seemed no one looked for him. but now all he thinks is this is all that remains? "Yes, Yes I am here. I was captureed and fought free. I made my own way back here to my people."

Radiance has posed:
Looking around at the dock and wishing she had brough a sweater, Hermione tries not to look scared as the crowd begins to raise a cheer to Balder. What if they don't recognize their marriage as valid? What if the fact that her 16 y WHat if they don't like her because she's not Asgardian? What if... a thousand different frets and worries fly through the young latina's head.

Her glow is the brightest she's ever known it to be. Apparently Asgardians are particularily good at charging her to her full potential. It can even be seen in the light of day if she stands in shadow. It makes the Lord of Light all the more splendid.

She gives Balder a squeeze as he talks about having fought free. He's told her all this before and she knows how the memories hurt. She looks up at him and smiles, letting him know she's there for him. PTSD, no matter the source, is a terrible thing.

Vintridr has posed:
Another cheer follows Balder's announcement, proving beyond doubt that no matter the circumstances in which he was lost, his people are overjoyed to see that one more son of Asgard still breathes.

One of the men closer to him puts down the crate he was carrying on his shoulder with a thud that jars the entire dock, then kneels. "How may I serve you, my Prince?"

Balder Odinson has posed:
"Tell me What happened. How did we lose?" Balder asks. "This was not meant to be the seers told that Ragnorok would not be till I died but I let live. Why did this happen?"

"Odins and Frigg is there a memorial? Are my parents honored?" Thats what is formost in his mind. Why is his home gone and where can he go to properly honor his parents.

Radiance has posed:
Hermione chews on her lower lip, feeling like an interloper here amongst these people. She isn't certain whether to stay in Balder's arms or to give him space with his people. She forgot that Balder was a Prince as well. God, Prince, super-powerful-almost-older-than-dirt alien with advanced technology that allows for teleportation... and she just knows him as honeycake. She probably shouldn't call him that in front of his people, right?

Vintridr has posed:
"Malekith, Lord. He'd struck a bargain with Surtur's minions, brought them to our borders in secret, then when they assailed our walls his Svartalfr struck from behind like the treacherous scum they are. We were caught unawares and overrun. So many of us perished... It was a nightmare. If it hadn't been for the Valkyr bringing the Einheriar to cover our retreat none of us would have made it out alive..."

He nods at Balder's second question, a son's concern for his parents' grave only right and proper. "Aye, Lord. One of the first true constructions we built, even before we finished making those.. 'Container homes'," he replies, hesitating as the word feels odd on his tongue, "was to create a memorial for all the fallen, with the All-Father and his wife at the center, as is proper." He points to the path that leads into a glade of pine trees that seem to have been growing much quicker than someone native to Midgard and unfamiliar with Asgard's magics would consider normal...

Balder Odinson has posed:
Balder seethes in anger for a moment hearing the fate of his land and his people. "The elf and the demon yet live? Then I will consider it my mission to bring them low." He says to himself Then he turns to look up at the glade that is pointed out to him . He nods and takes a gold band from his arm and hands it to the man. "Odin was so wise that he hated gold" a common refrain telling of the late allfather's generosity and habit of giving gold bands to those who fought for and/or served him. Balder then rushed up to find the memorial.

Radiance has posed:
"Our mission," Hermione says softly, reminding her new husband that she swore to be his Sheild Maiden long before she swore to be his wife. His battles are her battles. Her eyes follow to the glade that has been mentioned and she watches as Balder rushes off. Before she heads off after him, she turns to smile at the kneeling man. "Thank you so much. He's missed you all. Getting back to you is almost all he ever talks about." She nods in thanks and rises up in the air to fly after her spouse.

Vintridr has posed:
There's no time for the man to contradict him and explain that Malekith and Surtur almost certainly didn't survive the destruction of Asgard before Baldur rushes off.

There is an almost curious peace about the glade of trees, a sense that Baldur readily recognizes as Kelda's particular touch.

In the center of the glade, where the gravel path turns into irregular flat stone, is a memorial garden of shaped stone. A garden of statues, of men and women in full armour sitting or lying in repose, their battles forever done. And at its heart, the All-Father and his wife, lying in state, hands entwined, immortalized in stone...

Balder Odinson has posed:
Balder reaches the statues of his parents and he falls to his knees. He remembers how his mother would dote on him making him eat of Idunn's apples to stay young and vital He remembers his Father and how he set an example for how a lord of Asgard should act and carry himself and he regrets not having been there to protect them. For the first time since this all happened, Balder cries. "I should have been there I tried my best I swear I fought as hard as I could. Forgive me. Please."

Radiance has posed:
Hermione lands lightly as she nears Balder, resting her hands on his shoulders as he grieves. Her grandfather's death is still a fresh wound for herself so she can empathize with is pain. She leans down, touching her forehead to the top of his as she stands behind him. "They knew, my love. They knew that only something terrible could keep you from them. They would tell you that there is nothing to forgive," she tells him with soft, loving words.

Vintridr has posed:
There is, of course, no answer. Those who pass into the peace beyond life rarely if ever speak to those they leave behind. The glade remains tranquil and undisturbed, swallowing Baldur's grief like an ocean swallows a rainfall...
