Date of Scene: 10 August 2018
Location: Salem Center, New York
Synopsis: Disney is Weird. So is Deadpool.
Cast of Characters: Deadpool, Psylocke

Deadpool has posed:
The problem with a place like Salem Centre is that the usual is so odd, that a man like Deadpool can actually blend. They are used to mutants, not that Deadpool is a mutant, no matter how much he might want to be, costumed people, and even cantankerous old Canadians. At least Deadpool was one of the three, or he thinks he is. He's like ninety-five percent sure that he's one of them.

The merc with a mouth was playing it low key, which naturally meant a sky blue Hawaiian shirt, yellow pineapples, beige shorts, which really showed off the cancerous sores on his legs, or would have, if he weren't wearing his costume underneath that ridiculous outfit.

Walking in, he headed towards the bar, took up a seat, and said, "barkeep. I want a tall glass of milk, in a dirty glass, and a grilled cheese sandwich. And before you say it," he pulled out a bottle of pepto bismal, which he drank straight from the bottle, "I came prepared." Meaning, that cheese might not react too well to the milk.

Psylocke has posed:
Sitting at a booth toward the back is Betsy. She had gotten off work and opted to come here for dinner and a drink before heading home. Since she didn't drive, she didn't have to worry about being safe. Peter had headed off to work on getting some images to try to sell, following one of his passions. By the time they got around to patrolling later, this single drink would be completey out of her system.

As the man entered, she couldn't hide her surprise at his appearance. Costumes weren't that strange but the costume under the touristy clothes? Stuck out like a sore (no pun intended) thumb.

As he ordered, she kept an eye on him but she did something she usually didn't. She reached out telepathically just to skim his surface thoughts. Just to be sure he isn't planned on harming anyone in the bar.

If it works, it likely was a bad decision on her part to scan this particular brain.

Deadpool has posed:
Deadpool's mind was... an acquired taste. She tuned in to hear him think . o O ( . . . ets, when your life passes you buy, are you going to go, I'm not that interesting? You seem to have been separated from your group. I'm sorry, but the Ninja Convention is next door. ~ whistle noise ~ Becoming Asian, unnecessary use of cultural appropriation. 50 yard penalty. Hmm, doesn't look much like Cheers to me, I knew I should have made a left turn at Albuquerque. ) And it just goes on like that. It's enough to give most telepaths a headache. Which suddenly makes Deadpool's vision switch to greyscale, thinking . o O ( I can't think about it anymore, it's giving me a headache. Ah, Nuprin, little, yellow, different. )

Psylocke has posed:
Bloody hell! The rambling stream of information, and images which she could've done without, is enough to make her mentally backpedal. Not quite fast enough but Betsy withdraws that seeking tendril and frowns slightly as she picks up her glass and heads toward the bar.

He doesn't seem to be threatening but at the same time, with a mind like that there is no telling. So she'll have to try the old fashioned way.

She stops two seats down from where Deadpool is, waving over Harry. "Can I get a cup of tea?" As Harry heads over to do that, the takes a moment to duck into the back and put in the order for a grilled cheese sandwich.

Betsy looks over at Deadpool. "I don't remember seeing you here before. From the outfit, tourist or just want to look like one?"

Deadpool has posed:
Just before Betsy withdraws, there seems to be the sound of Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye by Steam being sung by Deadpool, or rather, a choir of Deadpool voices. She must have imagined it. He couldn't have known, could he?

"Mercenary Immigrant Comedian Arachnologist. Have you ever thought that if guns kill people, does that mean that pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat?"

Psylocke has posed:
Bringing up killing in his first sentences to her makes Betsy realize her first instincts might be right. Why else would he have his mask on and a costume underneath?

"I've never thought about it in particular," she says, her accent distinctly British. "It's really a syndrome of people wishing to place the blame for choices on anyone other than themselves. The gun made me feel violent. The voices said to do it. THe neighbor's dog told me." She shakes her head. "When it's all just people making the worst choices."

Deadpool has posed:
Deadpool's accent was Canadian, but the Vancouver variety, which sounded pretty neutral to North America, akin to a standard movie and TV accent. Strangely, he claimed to possibly be from Regina, Saskatchewan, but that might just be because of what Regina rhymes with. "Neighbour's dog as in Pluto, or neighbour's dog as in Goofy? You know, it never did make much sense to me that the Sensational Six include two mice, two ducks, and two dogs, but the mice and ducks are matching pairs, but poor Goofy, he's left with another male dog, and one that's an animal. Bestiality and homosexual, that's got to be a rare combination."

Psylocke has posed:
That earns a blink from Betsy. "Sensational Six?" She's knows of Pluto and Goofy of course. Which means Disney. Mice, Ducks. Yeah, he has to mean that. Still, he took it to another level when he leapt from innocense to bestiality.

"Well they aren't a couple." She doesn't think they are. "They just happen to be single. And one is a dog. Is Goofy a dog?" No, she did not want to ask that. "Nevermind. He's a dog. Just a bipedal one. Which is strange since Pluto isn't."

Harry arrives with their orders. A cup of tea for her. A glass of milk and a grilled cheese sandwich for Deadpool.

Deadpool has posed:
"Sensational Six, you know, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. "Yeah, Goofy's a dog, but a bipedal, speaking one. Pluto's also a dog, but walks on all fours, goes naked, except for his collar and sometimes leash, kinky, I know, and doesn't even belong to Goofy. Pluto's Mickey's pet, which I can't decide whether it's better or worse. And if you watch the old ones, there's some serious animal abuse going on, like the time Mickey took Minnie for a drive and dragged Pluto along by his leash, who was out of the car at the time it was driving, by the way." The only thing that seems to shut Deadpool up is his tall glass of frosty milk and grilled cheese sandwich, which he begins to drink and eat, alternating between the two. Though not until after he pulled up his mask to reveal his jaw, which was... well, he had some kind of a skin condition.

Psylocke has posed:
So he's a Disney Fan. Not totally weird although a bit odd in her mind. As he pulls up his mask, Betsy sees the way his skin looks and puts two and two together. That must be why the mask. But why a full costume. And why bother with clothes over it? The glimpse into his mind had warned her that there probably wasn't a logical reason for that choice. She had the feeling he acted on whim most of the time.

"That is more than I know on the subject. Never watched much," she admits. She picks up her tea, knowing Harry fixed it up the way she likes it. "And I'll leave you to your meal in peace."
