Synopsis: Peregrine visits Director Wells for answers about the Speed Force.
Cast of Characters: Professor Zoom, Peregrine

Professor Zoom has posed:
Future Solutions is legally a private institution with government and private contracts. They have some of their own research projects, but they do plenty of inbound sourcing and consulting work. Especially with STAR Labs.

Having heard of a new Speedster running around lately, there was no shock in Harrison Wells voice when he got a call from a female voice about an appointment to discuss the Speed Force.

Given instructions to follow security to the Speed Force Lab, Peregrine has been given access to that section of the building.

Harrison Wells himself is currently sitting in front of the center platform, where a very powerful treadmill with plenty of equipment surrounding it awaits.

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine walks in, wearing a blue costume that looks vaguely military-inspired, and a flight helmet. She nods slightly in your direction. "Doctor Wells. It's an honor to finally meet you. I hear that you know much about the Speed Force. I'm trying to undrestand it myself." She sighs softly, staring at the treadmill. "That is... one... hell of a treadmill..."

Professor Zoom has posed:
As Peregrine walks into the lab, Harrison stands up, giving the woman in the 'uniform' a look over, "air force?" Harrison asks casually, "I get the impression you gained your connection in flight." He quips, before he smiles, extending a greeting hand, "Peregrine, is it? I'm on the job right now, so Director Wells would be fine, if you're the formal type." He raises a brow under the glasses, "so. What exactly can I do for you, Miss?"

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine nods slowly. "You're the first person to make the connection. I had this costume made inspired by the Air Force uniform, yes." She sounds impressed at the deduction. "I was wanting to talk to someone. I have all these incredible powers and... I barley understand them. I can use them - but this Speed Force is a mystery to me. And... the Flash, the one I'd want to talk to - is frustratingly hard to make contact with. So I am here - to talk to a scientist who studies this... force."

Professor Zoom has posed:
"The Flash as I understand it barely understands his own powers beyond what he picks up by trial and error. But then, no one knew about the Speed Force until very recently. Us and STAR Labs are basically the pioneers of the science behind it." Harrison gives in reply, before he turns around to regard it, "it's specially made to handle the extreme speeds of Speed Force powered Speedsters. It's not quite as fluid as I'd like, but it does the job until about Mach 15. We haven't had anyone around to test if it can handle beyond that with the new fluid dynamic bearings we installed months ago."

He turns around to regard Peregrine, "care to give it a go? See how you measure up?" Harrison flashes her a grin.

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine nods. "I'm basically in a similar boat - I am trying to learn about these powers - but understanding them would give me insight. As they say, knowledge is power." She goes to step onto the treadmill. "I'll start things off slow," she states as she starts to run - then yellow electricity would start to crackle arond her as she starts to move faster and faster, her legs at a blur as she gets to mach 1 in a very short time.

Professor Zoom has posed:
"Power is power, my dear... but I understand your meaning." Harrison states with a bit of that lecturer coming out.

When Peregrine starts to run, there's a very noticeable 'sizing up' from behind his glasses, and he moves to the console. A tingling sensation can be felt by Peregrine as the Speed Force in and around her is activated.

"Measuring your output. Just hold steady there at mach one." Harrison casually mentions as his hands go over the controls. "Interesting. You have the same indicators of the Speed Force as the more prominent Speedsters do. With time and technique, you could probably keep up with the Flash." Harrison presses a few more buttons, "Can you go faster?"

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine nods as she giggles softly. "Can your treadmill handle it?" she finally asks, her voice still distorted by the helmet as she moves faster, headnig towards Mach 2, and staying steady there. The glowing strips in her costume are lit up even more - apparently she has some kind of electrical conduits built into her suit as she holds there. "I know how to use these powers - some - but I just don't undrestand the Speed Force very well..."

Professor Zoom has posed:
"It's an extra-dimensional energy field that seems to choose beings as 'outlets' for it's energy. Why they were chosen is a mystery. What matters is the individuals who become conduits for it have the ability to use that energy to change the laws of our reality to an extent." Harrison taps another set of controls on the console, before he moves around to the front of the treadmill, his hands in his lab coat pockets as he watches her, "Your suit interacts with the lightning byproducts in some fashion?"

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine nods. "Yes. There's a battery built into the suit that's charged by this electrical power. I can use it to deliver shocks to people, and to charge small devices. I'm surrounded by lightning - why not use a bit of it?" she asks as she suddenly kicks it up a notch, pushing mach 3. "The odd thing is..." she muses. "When I'm moving very VERY fast... sometimes I feel things. Hear things. See things. Something is talking to me. Or someone. I think it might be the Speed Force itself. I don't quite get it yet... but it's very... intense."

Professor Zoom has posed:
"The other speedsters I've watched didn't need a suit to build their lightning charge. Is it a preference for you, or do you just not know how to build the lightning charge on your skin and body?" Harrison asks, before he starts to walk behind her. The treadmill seems to be taking the increased speed well. There's even a sense that the treadmill is adjusting for friction somehow. "You... hear and see things? That's the first I've heard that. Can you describe it?"

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine hmmmms softly, tilting her head. "I can fling electrical bolts. But this is a more subtle effect... it's a supplement. Having an electrical battery that I charge just by running has all sorts of uses - the electrical attack of a speedster are brute-force. Hard to regulate." She then sighs softly. "I don't know - if I run - it's like... I see images. My past - people I don't even know. Sometimes I hear things - voices. I don't know how to explain it. It only happens when I'm pushing my speed..." She clicks her tongue softly.

Professor Zoom has posed:
"There could be a number of explanations for that. Speed Force use has been known to twist the boundaries of space and time." Harrison goes back to the console then, and the tingling intensifies, "I'm activating the more sensitive sensors. It might just be you're still learning precision, or your connection could be very unstable to the point you're viewing events in the timestream without pushing to time travel speeds. Or it could be something else entirely."

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine sighs. "Maybe I'm just imagining it... or I'm not quite stable. That's very possible." She shrugs. "I'm going to come to a stop. Have you learned anything, Professor?" she asks as she doesn't stop yet.

Professor Zoom has posed:
"Stability comes in many forms for many people." Harrison gives in reply as he flips a switch on the console. A pair of tesla coil like contraptions slide out of the floor to each side of Peregrine on the treadmill, and Peregrine can feel some of her lightning 'arc' into them, attracting the byproducts as she slows down, "I'd have to run more tests for anything in-depth, but it seems to me that you have a pretty stable connection to the energy field. Your vitals seem fine, and the typical energy use sparked around you."

He adjusts his glasses as the coils finish their 'siphon', visibly having taken a sample of the excess energy left behind. "What are you looking to accomplish here? I can help explain the Speed Force to a point, but this is a unique connection to you. To my instruments, you were pulling energy from the field into your system and the connection was very stable."

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine nods. "I just wanted to know about this. Getting hold of the Flash has been difficult." She hmmmmms softly as she comes to a stop finally, hmmmming curiously at the 'sample' but doesn't say anything. It doesn't hurt to check in with the one scientist that is studying this power that I use. I think I have learned much already. So - the Speed Force is... in a way - kinda like the fundamental forces? Gravity, electromagnetic..." She trails off. "Or... not...?"

Professor Zoom has posed:
"It's a bit more complicated than that, but it definitely has some fundamental reactions to our reality." Harrison offers as the coils slide back down into their pods, "if you prefer formal titles, my preference is Director Wells, but Professor or Doctor is fine as well. "It's also very much in it's child stage. From what I've been reading from you, you're connected to the field, but not generating it."

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine slowly sits down on a chair. "Not... generating... it?" she asks. "Is that something special? Oh... you mean there's actually a person that is CREATING the speed force or something?" She pondres, tapping her helmet. "Thank you, Director. But perhaps I've taken up enough of your time here?"

Professor Zoom has posed:
"Oh, I'm always happy to talk to speedsters interested in learning their powers and about the Speed Force. I've very interested in finding a way for people to connect to the Speed Force without freak accidents, and the more data I collect from people like yourself, the easier that dream will be one day." Harrison smiles warmly to her, "If you have somewhere to be though, don't let me keep you." He extends a hand for a handshake, "It was nice to meet you, Peregrine."

Peregrine has posed:
Peregrine snorts. "Well, I was connected via a freak accident so not sure how much help I can be." She walks over to you and takes your hand for the handshake. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Director Wells. Perhaps we'll be in touch again." She nods as she pulls back.
