Tinyplot: Sentinels

Cyclops has posed:
It was the day after the initial reveal of sentinels in the US, and not only the us, but in the X-men's backyard. They're in Gotham that they know of. Or they were. There's now two less of those purple monsters with a bit of materials taken from the scene by none other than Magneto. Scott and Erik were planned to share words, and have a discussion of their morals in order to figure out mutant kinds best plan of action in this scenario.

In the X-men basements beneath the School, in the medlab where Lorna has been restricted to for the time being, Scott slowly enters the room to make sure his verdant x-man is on the mend. "Heya Lorn'." Scott says as he enters, unsure of who else might already be in the room.

Polaris has posed:
The green haired mutant was dressed in loose fitting clothes, and sitting up free of the hospital bedding and pillows. A nurse was standing in front of her. A jar of burn cream in hand as she lectured Lorna over how many times to apply it, how, what to avoid. How much she needed to be careful of hot water, or ice. Other things that might damage the already irritated skin further and make her life more complicated.

A small sigh followed as Lorna tookt the jar and thanked the woman as she spotted Scott's presence at the door.

"Hey, I'm good to go. So long as I keep applying burn cream every four hours or as needed. Also, no hot tubs for me. Or ice. Apparently that can damage the skin.." She drawled, pushing off the bed with care as her slippered feet touched the cool tiles of the medbay floor.

"How is everyone else?"

Magneto has posed:
Magneto stayed in the sublevels. His presence in the mansion proper would have caused too much of a scene with the students. But after taking care of business, he decided it was high time to check in on Lorna again.

Magneto hovers as he moves himself to the medbay, still in that garish white and silver suit that for some reason, accentuated his biceps. "Lorna, I ho-"Cut off by the presence of Cyclops, he is decidedly different. "Hope you are on the mend." He says, lowering and walking to her bedside.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde is over in the corner when Scott arrives. Going through something on a tablet. "Hey Scott," Kitty greets after he's had a chance to say hello to Lorna. Kitty pulls up a photograph of a painting of a little girl in a field of yellow flowers. She's tying flowers together to make a garland. "Here's the painting," Kitty tells Lorna, showing her the painting of Piotr's that Kitty mentioned she'd gone to Gotham to see.

Kitty glances over as Magneto enters. For a change, her expression is fairly neutral to see him.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott's red glasses turn to face Kitty as he is drawn her way by her voice. "Hello Katherine." Scott says with a soft nod, "You doing okay too?" Though he knows the ninja is doing just fine, but he has to show that he does care. Jean told him to always ask. For the team and the individual's sake.

Scott then turns and squares his shoulders towards Erik. Though his fist does clench against his side, he doesn't speak or act any further other than to keep Magneto his main focus.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna glanced back at Kitty's mention of the painting, peering back and pushing her green hair from her face as it tumbled down to block her view of the picture. "That's lovely. Perfect for Spring." She grinned, straightening to catch sight of her father's entrance, or just as much feel his arrival through the magnetic fields. She paused a beat, jar of burn cream still in her hands. Both of which were still wrapped up to protect them from whatever she might bump or brush against accidentally.

"Hey Dad, just got cleared actually. Worst I've got are some minor burns that need this every few hours. I'm okay." She flashed a glance toward Scott, arching a brow once and back.

Magneto has posed:
Erik gave a smile from under that white helmet he was sporting. "Fantastic. I believe you most likely saw all the well wishes from Genosha. Twits or whatever they're called." Was that a joke? A small attempt at humor? Or just a ninety year old man shaking a cane from his porch?

"You can stop imagining to blast me, Scott. Your point is well taken." He says, turning to Cyclops and offering a neutral appearance to the X-Man. "But what we have here, in the United States, nay the world is merely a precursor of what is to come. Young Rachel has shown me what these things did to her future, and it will not happen here, not if I have to die to destroy every bit of evidence these Sentinels ever existed."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde moves back over to her corner, hopping up on one of the counters. She stays silent while the others talk, seeming to remember something. She begins typing on the tablet. Anyone glancing over might catch the top. An email to her mother it appears.

Kitty glances back up. "The mindsets behind it, seem as much of the problem as the technology does. I mean, yes, the technology is a BIG problem. But unless we can learn to coexist, what's to stop there from being another technology after it, and another after that?" she asks Magneto.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott does stand down a bit in the face of Magneto, as much as it pains Scott, Erik is right. They're to be allies in this fight and fighting each other is not how allies behave.

Scott turns his attention to Kitty and agrees with a nod. "You helped Charles build this school, we're asking you to keep it standing with us." And the dreams that are born from within and those that live here, goes unspoken, but should be implied as Charles probably said some such rhetoric long ago to the older mutant.

Scott looks at Lorna, hoping she'll have some imput that could sway Erik to the morally agreeable side of this argument that has been longstanding for far too long.

Polaris has posed:
A glance was spared toward Kitty and a smile pulled at her lips as Lorna caught sight of the email line. Her focus shifted however toward her father as he spoke and she shook her head slowly, "Tweets, Dad. Yeah I saw them. I was answering emails from people back home all day. I imagine the palace has a good amount of packages for me now too." She'd seen pictures of all the 'well wishes' people had sent or left at the gates of Magneto's palace.. It was rather mind blowing to the young woman.

Still, Lorna's smile faded briefly as the topic changed. "Look, changing hearts and minds and getting to the center of the matter is a good way moving forward.. But it's going to take time. And I don't think we necessarily have it. Not with those things out there." She paused, considering. "But the robots, the tech.. it has to be expensive to produce on scale, right? Can we hit them financially? Drive up the cost of parts to buy time?" She asked, tilting her head as she considered.

"Because these things exist, the tech is out there. The blue prints.. the knowledge that made them it exists.. And changing public opinion isn't particularly easy.. Otherwise the Professor would've stopped them from existing in the first place, right?"

Magneto has posed:
"That's just it, the minds behind it are most likely in a position where the technology isn't in sync. That Friend of Humanity leader, the one at the pulpit. Was screaming against the sentinel. He didn't try to have it attack his own kind, but it did anyway. It turned on him, and who is to say it won't happen again?"

"I wish not to see our dream die. But you know as well as I do that the time for peaceful demonstrations is over with these Sentinels. We must defend." Magneto starts to scowl, the visions of enslavement and persecution he saw from Rachel still fresh on his mind. Himself in a restraint collar, many others the same, housed in ghettos and camps. "Before we are all powerless to stop it...or worse." He knew many of the X-Men died in that future, it was all too close to home.

"They can target even non outwardly appearing mutants. That makes this school, Mutant Town, And Genosha the largest targets."

"These Sentinels started in Russia, it should be no small coincidence that Crimson Dynamo arrived days before the attack in Gotham."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde sits quietly then listening to the reply to her statement. The tablet is left forgotten for the moment on her lap as she considers what both father and daughter have said. "I agree, we need to act aggressively to stop the Sentinels. I am completely on board there," Kitty says, looking to Scott, speaking for herself but just letting the team leader know her mind.

"But I also think we shouldn't lose sight of what happens when this particular crisis is averted. We can't wait until there is no threat to us to be dealing with the root cause," Kitty says to Magneto. "And that seems to be to be what has divided us, what has divided mutant-kind. We could use more leadership in that area as well."

Cyclops has posed:
"This is an incredibly dangerous time. I like Lorna's ideas, very outside the box, but still conventional enough to make sense. I'm sure you agree Erik." Scott says, anything they can do that is non-violent is the best way to go about this. "Changing hearts and minds are the hardest thing to do, especially in our time and age, but it is the right thing to do, the safest thing to do, and the one thing we can do to really guarantee our futures." Scott says with a sigh. "I would like to work together in this crisis, because I think any division would be what ends mutant kind in this kind of scenario." The leader though does not respond to the mention of his daughter, nor how she is interacting so closely with Magneto.

Polaris has posed:
One of the Nurses returned with a little bag for Lorna, apparently filled with her suit and other things that had been taken from her when she'd been brought in. The woman didn't pay any of the others any mind, as she chided the green haired mutant for still standing around and not taking better care of herself after more or less being to do just that. A sheepish look, and Lorna cast a glance at the others briefly.

"So we hit them and make it unprofitable for them to rebuild. Somehow.. figure out a way to make it not worth their while to continue with the tech. There has to be a way to do that, right? I'm not saying that we should ignore why they were built in the first place, but that's another issue that will take a lot more work and time. Long term plans... But we have a country that has multinational tie and trade deals. We can hit them with offering a solution that is more profitable in the long run. Why build expensive robots? It's feeding into their fear of us... So, give them a solution that benefits us." She shrugged, looking to her father.

"I'm going to go get another round of this stuff on." She murmured, heading to the bathroom off to the side.

Magneto has posed:
Magneto looks to Scott, right where his eyes are. "I agree. The X-Men have my resources at their disposal. Lorna knows how to contact me, and I have the ability to be on this continent at a moments notice."

A gesture of good faith, Magneto reaches out a hand to shake Scott's. "I guess this means I must find my old X-badge."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde hops down from the counter that she's sitting on. She smiles as she sees the two men agreeing with each other. "I should go back to working on the sentinel head," Kitty says. "Goodbye, Erik," Kitty offers towards Magneto. She gives him a little nod, and then quick smiles to Scott, and Lorna as she disappears into the bathroom, before Kitty turns and heads out with her tablet.

Cyclops has posed:
Why does it feel like a deal with the devil? Scott thinks to himself as he reaches out to shake Magneto's hand and gives the man a curt nod. "We have a lot of work to do Erik, but I'm sure your clothes will be fine." The badge is very unnecessary. Scott nods and then gives a wave to Kitty as she leaves though he does follow the younger mutant out. "Do help Lorna a bit. She looks up to you and wont admit it." Scott says to Erik as he leaves the doorway.
