Checking in with MacKenzie
Date of Scene: 03 June 2019
Location: Lvl. 2 (Sciences, Mackenzie King Station)
Synopsis: Green Lantern Hal Jordan drops in on the MacKenzie King Space Station to check up on Kinsey.
Cast of Characters: Green Lantern (Jordan), Kinsey MacKenna

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
It was another day for the Green Lantern of Earth, well one of them anyways. Hal Jordan was returning home once more from a long mission to the deepest part of the Galaxy on behalf of the Guardians and the Green Lantern Corps. It was obvious from his expression, if anyone could see it, that he was upset and concerned. Biting his lip absently, he looks deep in thought, something Hal Jordan hated to do.

Arriving at MacKenzie Station for a "check in" on one of the newest Lanterns, Hal Jordan first checks in with the station command staff, and then goes to find Kinsey, to see how she was doing. It was one of his newest responsibilities, self-ordered of course. To follow up with whatever the two Lanterns needed to. It was funny - Hal was becoming a regular visitor to the station, and with his charm, had somehow found his way to having access to many of the station's levels. Made things easier.

Walking out onto Level 2, Hal makes his way to the Sciences section. "Ms. MacKenna...any chance you are here and on dury?" Hal says, as he enters the area looking around with a slight smile.

Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
Just another day.. so to speak. Or what was becoming an 'usual' day - this one finding Kinsey actually both on station, and in the sciences bay where reconstruction was coming along swimmingly, and, much to her delight, under her supervision again since meeting with Colonel Danvers and confirming that she could straddle both her Lantern and civil duties.

When Hal arrives, she's shaking her head at a crew, telling them that their current orientation of a substation wasn't correct and trying to explain to the non-science crew why their preferred orientation wasn't the best and unless there where specific reasons they /couldn't/ do what she was asking, that they were going to install the unit the way she was requesting, despite their thoughts that it was terribly counter-intuitive.

Thankfully their disagreement was mostly one of convenience and aesthetics on their part, and with her instructions firmly given, the unit was being installed to her satisfaction (and not theirs), and it's a grinning Kinsey, complete with hard hat, steel toed boots, and smudges on her cheeks and lab coat, who turns to greet the Green Lantern. "Oh hey. What a surprise. A visitor who doesn't set off the station's alarms. And how are you today?"

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Looking at what was going on, Hal Jordan waits patiently, and then smiles at Kinsey as she finishes and speaks to him. "Hi there! Yeah, it is good I don't set off any alarms. Although, I was a bit surprised I didn't, but hey. S'all good." Hal shrugs and walks closer.

"I just thought I'd drop in, see how you were doing, and check and see if Carol was around. Still haven't had a chance to chat with her, but I see she has allowed me access now, so that is good. Someone must have put in a good word for me."

Hal leans back against a table-like thing, and crosses his arms. "So, how goes the training and the learning? I see Earth is still here."

Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
"Heh," Kinsey laughs softly. "You at least stop and ask permission to come aboard. Much politer than some of the recent more vocally complaining guests." Specifically Razer. "And so it would seem she's left you permission." Quite likely to facilitate these check-ins. "Sadly, she hasn't been to the station in the past week or so. Reports to cross her desk. I can leave word if you wish?"

She comes over to the table - a temporary structure meant to be used to examine plans and layouts, but was equally used as a space to sit and take breaks while the construction continued. "Training goes well, I believe. Constructs are still posing some issues." Mainly with regards to passivity vs. 'agression'. "I'm getting about on my own quite nicely now. I've a mind to revisit a few places." Namely where she'd run into Blurr.

A laugh. "Oh? Were we expecting Earth to disappear? Isn't that rather more likely with some other colour?"

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"That would be perfect, thanks Kinsey." Hal Jordan nods, and adds, "We keep missing each other. Ah well, it is the curse of the hero to be ever needed." Hal chuckles, and then realises what she had said. "Razer huh? Hmmm. He's been avoiding me. I need to chat with him about this whole situation I told you about last time. Although, in all honesty, there isn't much more to tell that I already haven't told you."

Pausing in his chat, which almost seems like he was talking to himself, Hal Jordan shakes his head, and smiles sheepishly. "Sorry." Tapping his right temple with his index finger, Hal says, "Too much in here lately. Training. Right. Good to hear! Constructs are hard, and take time. Patience and strength of will will get you there." Hal smiles at his obvious "green" willpower plug.

"Yeah. I am always surprised when I am away, and I come home and the Earth is still there." Hal grins. "Just thought I'd drop in quick like, and say hello. Pass on my best to Saint Walker when you see him. I still haven't gone with him to Odym...hmmm."

Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
"I'll certainly let hte Colonel know you dropped by. I know she was very interested in the prisoner. I'm afraid I haven't any new news on that front either." There's a wry look from the woman. "You never realize how slow our judicial system works until you have people outside of it expressing their disatisfaction and impatience. Still, it is what it is."

She gives a small nod to the rest. "I think being in our heads is something of humanity. People say short lived species are impulsive, but I find ours to be more introspective than you might expect. Always searching for answers to things, or to understand our realities as an expression of ourselves. Something to do with how Hawking once said we can only experience the world individually, I would imagine. Our reality is truly singular."

There's another of those soft laughs. "I'm usually grateful I've remembered how to return home. I'm not sure if I've yet his the stage where I expect the world to have encountered some grand emergency. Though on those lines, I'm still unassigned. As for Odym, I do know how to reach there if you ever wish to place your trust in a less than expert Lantern." Followed by a wink. "Mind you, I can see why you might prefer Brother Walker as a tour guide."

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Very true. It is what it is." Hal Jordan smiles, and then starts to float off the ground. "The prisoner isn't going anywhere, and I need to jet. Sorry it was a quick visit, but I am sure you know how it is. Duty calls." Hal smiles.

"Well to be honest, I would much prefer you as a tour guide, Kinsey. You are better looking than Brother Walker. Don't tell him I said that!" With a laugh, and a wink, Hal heads back the way he came, and towards the nearest airlock.

Kinsey MacKenna has posed:
"A visit is a visit, Green Lantern. I'm pleased you even remembered."

She laughs outright at the other. "If I were younger, I might have to blush or ask if you were flirting. I won't tell him, though. It will be our little secret. Do drop by and we'll make a tour happen, then."
