Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Karrin Murphy, Two-Face

Karrin Murphy has posed:
It was the middle of the night when the news came out that a GCPD officer had been shot at the docks by seeming Triad gang activity and was in critical condition in the hospital. The next morning, the name Lieutenant Karrin Murphy was put on the officer's identity across the news, since her family had been told, and that she was upgraded to serious condition but expected to recover. It's now almost night of the day after and Karrin's had a few visitors in and out. She passed out after the last one and a round of drugs, where she sleeps now.

It's rare that Karrin Murphy looks fragile or frail. She's not on the edge of death, but she certainly doesn't look like her tough, healthy, vibrant self. Her skin is like paper, lips gray with lingering blood loss. There's an oxygen tube across her nose and monitors all across her right hand. Her right shoulder is bundled in heavy bandages. On the bedside table, someone has left a note: "Karrin,

I couldn't stay for those reasons unique to me. Wish I could have been here when you woke up again, but this will have to do. I love you. I'll see you as soon as I can, which will likely be when you get out. Rest and be well.

-Harry"

Two-Face has posed:
Yin & Yang lead the way into the hospital room that belongs to the cop that Two-Face knows all too well. How he manages to get past any police detail or whatever in the hospital is anyone's guess. It may have more to do with the fact his coin has been keeping him on the up and up now that he's no longer the District Attorney of Gotham anyway. No, he's back to his normal Two-Face ways and that's just how he's going to have to try and deal with things.

"Watch the door. We won't be long." That's Two-Face's voice to the Twin Henchmen as he strolls in. The door is closed behind him and his cronies are on the other side. The moment he's inside his voice switches to Harvey's when he spots Karrin in the bed. "Shit." He doesn't sound happy and moves to the bedside as quickly as possible. His two-toned suit looks as pristine as it always does. "Karrin. It's Harvey. I'm here. Well, we're here."

"Yeah. We came to make sure you're dead."

"Don't start."

There's a huff that comes out in Two-Face's voice before Harvey regains total control. For the moment.

Karrin Murphy has posed:
The sound of him coming in wasn't enough to wake her. Drugs are a *thing* and, having been shot in the upper chest, she's on a whole lot of them. But the sound of his voice is enough to reach through some of the haze. The sound of that OTHER voice reaches through the rest of it. Somewhere in the back of Karrin's trained cop mind, she realizes there is danger near. It's enough to help her claw out of the haze of drugs and pain, back to the world.

"...Harr-... Harvey..." Maybe it's just the drugs and being half asleep, that the way she started saying his name sounded wrong. Or maybe she was trying to look for the man on the other side of that note next to her, not the one actually there right now. Still, rasping voice, crackling from the tubes that were in her throat last night, is clear enough that she's clearly waking up. She forces her eyes to drowsily flicker open, through the cotton of everything. Still, seeing him, a faint smile cracks across pale lips. A genuine smile, even if his other side is there too. "Harvey."

Two-Face has posed:
"I'm not supposed to be here. And in probably about two to eight minutes, this place is gonna' be crawling with your brothers in blue. But I had to come. I had to make sure you were alright."

Harvey's fighting to stay in control of this situation because Two-Face keeps trying to take back control. Especially considering that there's all this hospital equipment within arm's reach that could possibly be used to help get rid of a problem that may or may not continue to be a thorn in his side.

Harvey, though, is reaching for Karrin's hand with Two-Face's hand. To stop that exact thing from happening. "Well, not alright. But alive." Harvey forces a smile while, somehow, Two-Face's eye manage a very slight roll.

Karrin Murphy has posed:
Still, even now, Karrin doesn't shy away from his scarred hand. She turns her palm just enough to reach fingertips up and over his grasp. She has utterly no strength, it's more just a flutter of skin against his than actual pressure, but she's trying. And she's not disgusted. He didn't dream that night spent at her side, the scars have never bothered her.

"I... yeah. I'm... alive. Looks worse than it is, I'm sure. Be outta here in a day or two. Back at work next week. I'm fine..." Karrin rasps out quietly, lying out her ass. SHe might be in PT for months, once they actually figured out what the muscle damage was. But he didn't need that burden right now. She needed to pull herself together, because she said she'd be there for him and she meant it.

The monitors around her aren't happy, reflecting that uptick in pulse and stress just at the worry of him being here. She tries to keep herself even, they didn't need nurses rushing in here either. "...you might have some time. The boys know... we... They know I'm soft on you." AKA: She's told the guys to hold off if she's dealing with him, and if anyone picks him up, to tell her first. She's bending rules for him already.

Two-Face has posed:
Harvey tries not to look at the machines too much lest it get him more upset and that'll make it easier for him to retreat and for Two-Face to take over. And that would be pretty bad for everyone in this room. "You shouldn't do that. I'm as guilty as I am innocent. I don't deserve your favoritism. Not when I'm doing the wrong thing." Even while trapped beneath his psychosis there's a bit of the White Knight's Light that continues to shine through.

"We can get you some things that this hospital can't." Harvey and Two-Face's voices combine in that moment as they are both of the same mind. "Just say the word and I'll make sure it gets to you." Harvey knows she's lying her ass off and that's probably why he's offering her so much black market drugs. Somebody has to actually help her get out of this. The hospital is certainly not going to be able to do it.

Karrin Murphy has posed:
The offer of *other* things, especially from that combined voice? It surprises her. Harvey can see her eyes widen just a bit, not exactly in fear, but the acknowledgment that she heard the Two-Face part of that. "Uh... Harv, I... I got what I need. I hate these drugs. Makes my head all... Cotton. I'd rather be off'em. I can take the pain. I've been in pain before. But... thanks." A faint smile cracks over those dry lips, "...to both of you. Thanks." She weirdly means that.

Did Two-Face care? Is that a ray of hope that he COULD care? Karrin will cling to it. She tries to give his hand another squeeze. Her skin is so cold, clammy. So not Karrin at all. It's weird for her being in this space and worst that people see her like this. "I...just hate... people seeing me like this." There. A small admission that maybe she's not okay, even if it breaks something in her to even say that. And her voice is still all sand paper, though a cup of melting ice chips rests next to that note Harry left.

Two-Face has posed:
"We can move you. We have safehouses all over the city. We can get you out of here in two minutes." Harvey's leaning more on Two-Face the longer he's in here and its becoming apparent that maybe Two-Face has something planned for the cop on her possible deathbed. There has to be a reason why he keeps trying to seem like he's siding with Harvey on all these statements and offers.

Harvey clears his throat to push Two-Face back down a moment. "Listen. If you want me to do that, I can. I can get you out of here and away from all this attention. I, well, Two-Face has people that can work miracles. He could-- I could do this for you. I can get you better and back out on the streets in no time." And that's when a flash in Harvey's eye makes him look a little less White Knighty.

"Who did this to you, anyway?" Two-Face asks.

Karrin Murphy has posed:
The drowsy eyed woman isn't really interested in being kidnapped out of the hospital until he offers to get her better. Did he have access to things? Actual miracles? Karrin blinks, surprised and just drugged enough to be tempted. "...miracle workers? How? They shot me in the chest. Collapsed my fucking lung. An inch to the side and it would have been my heart." And she'd be dead. Bled out within a minute. She got lucky, really. "This is... a lot of PT and hope that the nerve damage isn't any worse than the muscle damage. That's just... practicality." Karrin whispers, even if it kills something in her to say it.

She's scared. Deep down, she's scared this thing will bench her. That she won't be back to work fast, or ever. That it's ruined her career. And she's too drowsy in cotton to realize the differences between Two Face and Harvey eyes. That she's very much talking to both of them. "...some...triad idiots. Asian gang. I...think they are all dead now. That sniper... the metal one, he was shooting that night..."

Two-Face has posed:
It's at that exact moment that Two-Face lets go of her hand and stands straight back up. "That's all we needed to know." It seems like Harvey's voice is completely molded to Two-Face's because now there's something that they agree on. Vengeance. Harvey, of course, wants it as a method of justice for what has happened to Karrin. Two-Face, however, spots an opportunity to corner the families in the triad and open up a whole new wave of business.

Two-Face starts buttoning up his suit jacket. "Two days. Give us two days to get everything in order. We'll be back for you." Two-Face's grin is one that's a bit more on the sinister side this time.

"For now, though, we gots a li'l business to take care of."

Karrin Murphy has posed:
Somehow, even through the fog of pain, something grabs a Karrin's mind that she triggered something VERY BAD in both minds above her. She knows that look. "...Harvey. Don't. It's...it's over. This wasn't personal. No one needs vengence or... anything. It's over now. Seriously. Don't even think about it. Please..." Maybe she can distract him, convince him not to walk out the door right now.

Her bloodshot, not quite focusing eyes flicker across the room, to her side, looking for anything. She catches sight of the cup of half ice chips, half water now, "Harvey... my throat... is killing me. Could you grab me that cup, please?" It's a poor ploy for distraction, but maybe it will work. SHe's gotta try. Of course, she has yet to see the note right next to that cup.

Two-Face has posed:
Two-Face doesn't even spare a second glance. He's already over at the door and knocking twice on it. Yin and Yang open it up and Two-Face spares one last glance in Karrin's direction.

"See you soon, Murphy." That's definitely Two-Face's voice before he leaves the room altogether. Granted, the room's door is left open so that Karrin can hear Two-Face speaking to the medical staff.

"You might wanna' check on Officer Murphy."

Of course, this creates the chaos that he needs to get gone and there's probably going to be a flood of medical staff in Karrin's room within moments.

"Alright boys. Time to go to war." Two-Face grins to both Yin and Yang as they stand on either side of him and the elevator doors close on Two-Face's smirking face.
