Summer's a Great Time For a Swim

Synopsis:	Lorna is invited to the Avengers pool, where she, Pietro and Wanda practically act like a family!

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda had called over to Lorna, inviting her over to the Avenger's Mansion. Just a social call mainly, though it wouldn't hurt to catch up on affairs to. Wanda mentioned swimming, saying she'd just been in the pool yesterday and the water was lovely, so Lorna should bring a bathing suit if she that sounded interesting.

Wanda gets a pitcher of margaritas and some snacks and takes them out to the pool area, setting them down beneath a large deck umbrella to keep them in the shade. She's wearing a green one-piece bathing suit and a pair of sandals at present, and some sunglasses against the bright, sunny day. The weather is in the high 80s so it is perfect for a swim.

Whenever Lorna arrives, Jarvis will have one of the service drones lead her through the mansion and out towards the back yard where the pool is.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna wasn't entirely sure what to expect regarding a visit to see her older half sibling. Mostly, she had given up on the whole concept of 'family time', and had assumed Wanda to have done likewise. So it was a pleasant surprise to find otherwise, when the call had come, and Lorna had changed her plans of going back to Genosha from the school. Even if Ororo had warned her about going into the city alone, she was certain that visiting Wanda didn't count as going 'alone'.

The green haired young woman entered the backyard as she was directed to, wearing a black bikini of a simple construction, and a loose fitting wrap dress that hung off her shoulders. The fabric was clearly Genoshan made. The weave and weft of the fabric doing otherwise impossible things and changing tones and hues in the sunlight as Lorna stepped outside into the sunlight. She peered over the rim of her sun glasses as she spotted Wanda setting out drinks as she arrived, and flashed the older woman a grin.

"Hey, wow, this is a nice pool. And no young kids running around splashing each other either." She called as she approached.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda rises quickly to her feet, moving over to greet Lorna with a smile. "I'm glad you could make it," she says, the soft accent she has one of those subtle things that will always be a reminder of how different their upbringing, even if they have some common heritage. Wanda turns to look at the pool. "Yes, from the days when Tony's father built the place, I understand. Though renovated over the years." Indeed it's gorgeous. A monument to excess, as is most of the mansion. There are jacuzzi tubs along it, waterfalls, even secluded little grottos with fauna growing down to the water's edge.

Wanda says, "It got a little exciting yesterday. We had a barbecue for Steve's birthday, and most of us ended up getting thrown in at one time or another. Janet picked me up and... ploop," Wanda says, laughing softly as she recounts what happened. She motions over towards the drinks then. "Margarita? Or do you want to just hop in first?" she asks.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna arched a brow as she glanced around and made her way to the shade of the umbrella to set down the various items she'd brought. A rather good sized beach bag included her towel and whatever else she might need and she set it out on a chair beside her. She flashed Wanda a grin regarding drinks and she arched a brow, "Of course I'll have something to drink. It makes wading into a pool this fancy worth it." She joked, and turned to dig around in her bag again, before pulling out a tiny wrapped box.

"Here." She held it out to her older half sister with a faintly sheepish grin. "I realized I didn't know when your birthday was, like at all.. And I've missed a lot of those." She paused awkwardly as she considered Wanda, and bit her lower lip.

"And if we're trying to do this sibling thing, right, then I wanted to make up for it."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
The drinks are poured and forthcoming. If there is one thing you can be sure of at the Avenger's Mansion, it's that Tony will have some decent quality booze on hand. For himself if not for everyone else.

Wanda reaches out to take the small box as it is offered. "Oh, Lorna, this is so sweet," Wanda says softly. "My birthday isn't until October actually. Halloween. I think there's some sort of joke often told about the Scarlet Witch being born on that day. Almost like a cliche origin story from a comic, isn't it?" Wanda says, chuckling at the coincidence.

She smiles though as she looks at the box. "I am afraid I am a few behind for you as well. When is your birthday?" she asks as she slowly opens up the box to see what is inside.

Polaris has posed:
When Wanda looked inside the tiny gift wrapped box, she would find a little, golden chain. Beautifully crafted, but simple. Understated. At the end was a little charm, in the shape of a heart. In an elegant scrawl, was the word 'Sister', on the other side, her name Wanda was inscribed. Lorna blinked as Wanda spoke of when her birthday was and she laughed softly, tilting her head back. "My birthday is in October too. October first." She exhaled another amused chuckle, before she paused and considered something.

"That is... a very strange coincidence." She sighed, and happily took the offered drink. "Though it has nothing to do with the magnetic poles." She sipped at her drink and made a pleased sound at the back of her throat. "This is quite good."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
The Transian woman's face lights up in a warm, but also emotional smile. She can be quite expressive when she is feeling something, and she looks up from the necklace to shine that smile over to Lorna. "It's beautiful," she tells her, and Wanda will offer her half-sister a warm hug before letting her go. She takes it out to put it on, letting it hang about her neck, turning the charm so it is the right side up.

"We will have to have a pair of parties then, come October," Wanda says. She picks up her own drink to take a sip from it. "I'm glad we have this opportunity, Lorna," she says. "I waited much too long to reach out to you," she says, shaking her head regretfully. "But what have you been up to lately? Things seem to be quite the bustle out at the school. I was out not too long ago to help them with a mission they had against a Sentinel factory, though haven't been back since."

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro ZOOMS into the poolside area when word reached his ear that his twin and younger sisters were apparently bonding. While he didn't know how effective that would be, since things have usually always been...interesting, between the three, Pietro gives a small smile to Wanda and Lorna. Yes, he's wearing swim trunks. Colored blue and white. Go figure.

"Hello Lorna, Hello Wanda. Are you both doing well, I hope?" Because they are the only two people that Pietro will allow to see the much softer, non-protective side of him.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna sipped at her drink, smiling as Wanda made to give her a hug, and she awkwardly shifted the drink off to the side and out of the way as she returned the embrace. Wanda's show emotion was something new, and Lorna found she was quite tickled as Wanda dug the necklace out of the packaging and slipped it on around her neck and settled the little charm properly.

"Yeah... I guess October just got a little more fun." She murmured, and shrugged lightly with a smile still on her lips.

In regarding what she'd been up to, she grimaced. "Uhhh, besides the usual? Dealing the news that apparently one of my Ex-boyfriends is one of Dad's Acolytes? And then finding out Dad sent one of my best friends a bottle of perfume..." She muttered, making a face.

And then there was Pietro! In a blast of speed as he appeared, and was standing beside them as if he'd been there all along. "Pietro! I have a little gift for you too."

Wanda picks her drink back up to take a sip of the margarita. She's wearing a green one-piece and both of Pietro's sisters look ready for the pool. Wanda has an eyebrow go up at the mention about the two different connections when it comes to love interests. "Oh. Goodness. And did he know that she was your best friend-" Wanda starts to say, before the expression on Lorna's face makes it clear enough that he did know.

"Well, that will make for quite the talk at... um, Thanksgiving? We probably should start having some sort of, holiday gatherings together," Wanda muses quietly. "Well, speaking of people dating, there's someone you might know who-" Wanda gets out and then there's a gust of wind as Pietro zooms into the backyard. "There you are," she tells him with a smile, moving to loop an arm about Pietro's shoulders in a warm hug before letting him go. She moves over to pour him a margarita then as he's greeting Lorna.

Pietro looks a little surprised at Lorna. "Uh...a present? For me?" He looks slightly confused now. "But...uh..thank you. I don't know what to say." He literally doesn't. But then Wanda is hugging him and he seems to smile a little bit, giving her a warm hug and a brotherly kiss to her cheek before he looks at Lorna and attempts to do the same.

But now he has a Margherita! Compliments of Wanda. "Thank you." He looks between his sisters. "So then, you two are having a pool outing and did not invite me? I am shocked."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flashed Pietro a smile as she turned back to her bag and brought out a little wrapped package similar to Wanda's and held it out to her half brother. "As I told Wanda, I wasn't sure when your birthday was. And I've missed out on a lot of them. So I thought I'd get you both something to help make up for it." Inside the box was a simple golden bracelet, not unlike the chain that Wanda's necklace was on, but thicker and meant to take a beating that the forces Pietro constantly went through. It was shaped more like a watch, and instead of a clock, it had a simple gold plate, etched with 'Brother' on one side, and 'Pietro' on the other.

Lorna grinned at Pietro over the edge of her drink and then made to head into the pool proper, drink in hand.

"We were just mostly dealing with my complaining about how Alex Summers is apparently one of Dad's Acolyte's and has been for a while, and Dad never told me. And on top of that.. Dad sent Rogue a bottle of perfume. And a romantic note." She took another gulp of her drink as she twisted around in the pool to face the twins.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff takes her drink in a hand, walking over to steps down into the pool to make it in without spilling the drink. She has one of her eyebrows go up yet again. "Oh, it was Rogue?" she asks. "She was just here yesterday for the party," Wanda comments. She takes a sip of her drink, looking thoughtful.

"So you mentioned this Alex was an ex of yours? How far of an ex? Completely in the past, or is the kind of things that, you know. Some relationships never really die, they sort of... wait?" Wanda says, having to think for a moment to find an appropriate word at the end there.

Wanda smiles up to Pietro from the pool, holding her own necklace similar to the one he has, though smaller and with a smaller charm on it.

Quicksilver has posed:
Opening the gift, Pietro finds the beautiful Golden bracelet with the words brother and pietro on either side. He seems to smile very softly at the gift and he looks at Lorna. "Thank you, Lorna. I'll find a way to make it up to you." and he leans over to give her another big hug and a kiss to her temple. Brotherly affection for the win!

Then he looks at Wanda and Lorna as the latter explains the situation. "What...the fuck. Is that old man doing..?!" Pietro looks mad. "Well, thats another shout match I'm signing up for. I'll let you know how that goes, with Dad freaking creepin' on Rogue."

He shakes his head. Then he looks at Wanda, smiling to her lightly as she smiles at him. It was contageous!

Polaris has posed:
Lorna edged over the side of the pool, balancing her drink on the tiled edge as she found a comfortably spot where she could talk to her siblings and sip at her drink easily. She arched a brow at Wanda's words, and glanced around once and back. "Yeah, well, I kinda went off on Dad already over it. I told him to how about not sending my best friends perfume and love notes when they're younger than me." She glanced at Wanda, "I don't see how that can't bother you. She's like twenty. I'm only twenty-four. Dad is almost one hundred. I don't think he should find women his own age, that's too much. But seriously? Younger than me? That's gross." She glanced toward Pietro as he reacted exactly how she had, well more or less. She waved an arm at her brother, while she trained her gaze on Wanda as if to say 'this'.

"And don't worry, I already got into it with Dad. He promised to back off at least. We'll see." She grumbled, and shook her head. As Wanda broached the other topic, particularly regarding Alex, Lorna turned faintly pink and tapped her fingers against the side of her drink.

"See... Alex and I are... it's complicated. Always has been. We broke up.. two...ish years ago now? But it was always on and off." She grimaced.

"Anyways, Wanda, you were about to say something before Pietro came over?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda just gives a little wave. "Oh, I think you've got it handled well enough," Wanda says of the situation. "I'm happy to provide a look of stern disapproval. But it's difficult for me to interject myself into something like that when I've not really been there, a part of his life," she says softly.

At the mention of something she'd been starting to say, Wanda gives a little nod and takes a long drink from her margarita. "Ah. Yes, so I met someone not too long ago. Just by chance. I was in Bushwick, out on one of my walks and stopped in a church. And this cute guy, a little younger, came in and... well, invited me to drinks. And then another night to Evolution for dancing. And I've seen him a couple more times since," Wanda says. She looks down at her glass, smiling a bit. "He's a little younger, but I've grown really fond of him. And... he went to Xavier's as it turns out. Joshua Foley. Do you know him?"

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro looks at Wanda sharply. Wanda....has a boyfriend?!

Fuck. That. Noise.

"Nothing intimiate happens until I approve of him." he says to Wanda, protective Pietro's systems back online after a temporary update and rebooting, but then he looks to Lorna "Good. Saves me from having to deal with him." Pietro and Magneto were WAY too alike in this instance. Uncompromising in their convictions and (at least initially) unwilling to put those important to them in danger.

"Well, in other news, I'm still alone. Shocker."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna arched a brow at Wanda as she offered to provide a look of stern disapproval. "Look, if we don't call Dad out on his behavior, no one will." She added, and sipped at her drink again while she kicked off on the title floor and splashed around her section of the pool a little. She seemed to be lost in hovering magnetically as well as swimming, finding a new balance in the water with her powers fascinating.

Of course, that ended as Wanda spoke of going on romantic dates, and how the man in question.. went to Xavier's. She stopped bouncing on her toes and stopped, turning to look back at Wanda until she stated exactly //who// she'd gone on a date with.

Then she grinned and threw back her head and laughed, "Oh, oh, that's hilarious. Not, you and him. Sorry, not the right time to laugh. I just saw him the other day and he turned bright red! I was wondering why! Gosh, that makes so much more sense now." She snickered, and grinned up at Wanda. "And why he was asking after you so much." She wiggled her eyebrows and seemed in generally a good mood until Pietro started in on... well, being Pietro. She rolled her eyes.

"You do realize I've dated guys before we knew we were related right?" She teased, and shook her head as she came back to the edge of the pool.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff smiles over to her over-protective brother. He has always been that way, and it's part of why she loves him as she does. She smiles to Pietro and says, "I think you'll like him. He's a mutant. Has a healing power. But wants to earn a doctor's degree as well, not just rely on his power," she says.

Wanda rests a hand on her brother's shoulder. "I don't imagine it will remain that way for long," she tells him. She goes to get the pitcher then, freshening everyone's drinks. She slips back into the pool after, and listens to Lorna's tale of her recent interaction with Josh.

Wanda's face grows in a smile that reflects several emotions. Warm amusement to hear he blushed. But also something sweeter as she says, "Really? He was asking about me?" It does make her smile in a way that suggests there might be real feelings growing there.

At Lorna's final comments, she says to her half-sister, "Oh, just wait. HE will track your boyfriends down," Wanda says, smiling warmly to her brother.

Quicksilver has posed:
"I will absolutely find all of your past boyfriends to make them suffer, so pick your words." Pietro says with a bite in his tone to Lorna, though then he looks between the two and he rolls his eyes. "God, all this romance is making me sick." Okay, it was mainly just the mutant speedster was jealous that he didn't have anyone...nobody uh...really liked him like that. But, either way, Pietro just listens to the women as they gush over all this.

"...I'm still going to need to approve of him." he apparently didn't care what Wanda thought about that factor of the situation.

But then he looks to Lorna. "Anyway, thanks for putting the old man in his place."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grinned as Wanda refilled her drink and she made a gesture of 'cheer's before she continued to sip at her drink and float backwards to keep her siblings in her gaze. "He'll keep both of us alive, how about that? Josh is super handy to have around. I wish I could keep him in my pocket whenever things go south. Seriously, cut up my hand cleaning some glasses a bunch of kids broke. He healed it in an instant." She grinned at Pietro and as Wanda asked Josh had asked after her, she nodded.

"Yep, went straight over my head why he was asking after my sister, but now it makes so much more sense." She drawled, and glanced back at Pietro when he went full on dramatics. She arched a brow, and looked between the two siblings.

"Well in high school I dated Bobby Drake for a hot minute. Then I dated Alex Summers, broke up with him, dated him, and broke up with him." She shrugged lightly. "That's my dating history in a nutshell. Single for the better part of two years now."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff smiles over to Pietro. "It all goes in circles. Not that long ago you had this Zee lady - that you didn't even tell me about! - so I don't imagine it will be too long before you find someone," she tells her brother reassuringly.

Wanda leans back against the side of the pool, sipping her margarita and grinning a little towards Lorna. "It was all... very unexpected for me. But I'm glad to hear you like him. And I hope you will too, Pietro," Wanda says.

She leans her head against the pool side and takes another sip of her drink. "Look at us. It's a long way from where we were last year at this time. Or even just a few months ago," Wanda says fondly towards Lorna.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro looks at Lorna as she speaks. "Hnnnh." He grumbles. "Thats a plus, not something to be approving of..." Pietro turns his head away from Lorna, apparently not wanting to accept that piece of information, regardless of how seriously true it is.

Damn overprotective brothers.

But he looks at Wanda as she speaks about his past relationship with Zatanna. "Because I didn't know that it was going to be a thing! I.." he growls. "Whatever."

Then there is comments about how far the three of them have come. "We've...come a way."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna arched a brow as she watched Pietro still standing out of the pool, or perhaps he'd been in and out already and she hadn't noticed. It was always possible with her half brother. She considered both him and Wanda as she floated there in the water, sipping her drink and look all the world like she was content to simply rest and relax where she could.

Wanda's words caught her attention though, and she seemed content to think about them for a beat before she spoke. Pietro's grumbles getting a faint smile. "Yeah, look at us, complaining to each other about our Dad's attempt at a love life-- can you imagine if he tried to get married again and we had a new 'step-mom'?" She made a face, and shook her head slightly. "Oh and sharing relationship statuses. It's like we're almost a real family or something. Shocking."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda moves over to sit on the steps, the water up to her stomach. "We're getting there," Wanda agrees with a small nod and a smile. "Lorna. I was wondering, do you play any instruments?" she asks. "I have a little classical guitar that... well I'm not very good. But I have fun with it. If you play anything maybe we could try something together sometime?" she offers.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro can't play a musical instrument to save his life. Though he does look at Lorna as she speaks. She even took his word - Shocking - and tagged it at the end of her spiel! How dare she! But, Pietro wasn't THAT petty, so he lets it slide. Nonetheless, he does get into the water, his arms still crossed over his chest as he looks at Wanda.

"She's better than she lets on about her guitar playing."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna sighed heavily and shook her head, "Nope, I tried to learn violin when I was kid, couldn't figure it out to save the life of me." She paused as she considered, "Though I bet now if I had a steel string guitar I could do //something// interesting with it. Not that, that would count as music, but.. yeah.." She grinned as she glanced to Pietro and then at Wanda.

"You both should come to Genosha, Wanda, bring your guitar. I'll help cook or something."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda smiles over to Lorna. "I'd like that. I was actually even thinking I might introduce someone to father. Though maybe he already knows him from the school. I really don't know how much father knows the people there. He was very heavily at odds with them when Pietro and I were with him," Wanda says of the time before the twins left Magneto and came to New York to join the Avengers. "In any event, yes, we should go and visit together. A family trip?"

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro narrows his eyes. He doesn't want to talk to Magneto but...if it'll make his sisters happy, he nods. He was still the Prince, after all! "Fine." is all he says. "I'll help make the arrangements." He probably won't bring anything aside from a few snacks.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grinned as she swam over to join Wanda and Pietro on the steps of the pool, linger in the shallows to simply rest and enjoy the water's coolness in the height of summer. "Perfect. We'll likely end up at each other's throats before the end of the night, but that's what drinks are for, right?" She teased, and nodded to Wanda as she sipped at her drink.

"Hey, if you want, bring Josh. I dunno how he feels about Dad or anything, but if he likes you then he'd better figure it all out anyways." She drawled.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda chuckles in agreement and nods. "Yes, well there's been enough of that from each of us along the way that he'll know I can relate," Wanda chuckles. Though she's been trying to further mend things with their father, she hasn't had nearly as much opportunity as with Lorna. "So, Lorna, how have things gone with trying to get him back to temple? I want to support it. But I also feel it's almost... it just feels wrong for me to take too much of a role beyond just... being quietly supportive. Not having ever had that connection with the religion," she says.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro looks at Lorna as she seems to look amused at the thought of all of them at each other's throats. "Here's hoping I'm the first to get drunk." Pietro was a very affectionate drunk. He didn't turn violent, but he did give lots of hugs and agrees to things he usually doesn't agree to.

Though then he looks over at Wanda with a bit of a smirk.

"Good luck trying to get Dad to go back to the temple. Maybe the idea, the religion, will help him kinda become more centered in what he wants in his life."

But, thats just Pietro's thinking. He looks at his sisters and he wraps his arms around both of their shoulders. "I missed us all talking together."
