Pardon me, Professor.
Date of Scene: 27 August 2019
Location: Empire State University, NYC
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Omnis, Beast

Omnis has posed:
Sure enough, true to the note request, Henry McCoy got a call from the number listed. It was Kally and she asked if he could make time for her for a more private meeting about some of the things he spoke about in his discussion about the X-Gene and genetics in general. Surely she was just an eager student or something. Either way, she was given a time and when that time rolled around she was actually quite a distance away. For her, that's not as big a deal as it is for others. She acutally arrived only a mere minute before her appointment and was actually late because it too her four minutes to get quickly changed into a more appropriate outfit for such a meeting.

Now she taps lightly on the door of Dr. Henry McCoy with a portion of her costume still on underneath the loose fitting jeans, a T-Shirt with a loose unbuttoned blue shirt over it, and sneakers. She has a backpack slung over her shoulder to complete the look. Part of going to a campus, she's learned, is looking the part. Come on campus and look like you don't belong? People ask questions even if you have an appointment. Look like you do? No one bothers you.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy did arrange for the meeting, so he's fully expecting her. Getting up, he opens the door. Not being full time faculty here, the facility he does have is small, especially for his size. But there's a second chair in here. "Good evening, cone in, have a seat. So you had more questions about my talk?" he greets her, offering a handshake.

Omnis has posed:
Taking the hand, she gives it a firm shake before she nods her head to him, "Thank you for seeing me." She nods her head and follows him, letting him settle first before she takes her seat, "Sorry to take up your time but I actually had some further questions about some things you spoke on." She nods her head, "You seemed like you knew quite a bit about genetics." She nods her head, "I am somewhat curious to ask more about the genetic alteration question I asked you about." She smiles and nods.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy slowly takes a seat, and gestures to the wall. "Well, there's my PhD in biochemistry. There's my PhD in biophysics." He then points to his blue arm. "And there's the color I changed myself trying to eliminate the X Gene from myself. Is that enough expertise?"

Omnis has posed:
A chuckle and she nods, "Sure, sure, I just..." She shakes her head, "Sorry." She frowns, "I didn't mean to offend, I'm just...well, this is just an area of interest for me." She nods her head, "I'm not exactly an expert in this area. I'm just a delivery girl at the moment." She nods her head, "I was just somewhat curious. What would it take to alter someone at a genetic level? I've read some about it but never gotten very far."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy laughs and sits back. He opens a drawer of his desk, pulls out two twinkies, tossing one onto the desk in front of her, and opening one for himself. "No offense taken... Kally was it?" he asks. "And the answer to that, depends on the kind of person, and the kind of change you were hoping to make for... yourself? A friend? Family member?"

Omnis has posed:
"Oh, I really don't need to change anyone." She laughs, "That's not really the issue." Kally nods her head, "And thank you." She takes the twinkie and smiles at it before looking up to him, "I'm more curious about something that may have been done." She shrugs, "I'm curious what it would take to alter someone so they..." She considers, "Could be made stronger or faster. Maybe even draw strength from another source even."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy spreads his hands and snickers. "See, you do sound like you're talking about more than just a hypothetical scenario." HE opens his twinkie wrapper and takes a first bite. "The more specific you can get, the more I can help answer."

Omnis has posed:
A smile and she shrugs, "Be that as it may, I'm somewhat curious." She nods her head, "I guess, I'm not sure how specific I can be." She looks up at him and then she considers, "I guess my first question would be do you believe in the afterlife?" She asks and looks at Dr. McCoy with a quesitoning look.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy snickers. "Alright, we'll start there. No, I don't. I take an empirical view of the universe. Things I can see, or find evidence for, I tend to believe exist."

Omnis has posed:
A hmm and she nods at him, "I see." She then looks to the side before considering, "Even with all you have seen in this world. All the strange folks that roam around this world, are you sure?" She asks and looks at him and then sighs, "Sorry, alright, I'll not go down that pathway. What about magic in general or what some call magic?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy points with his twinkie, then takes another bite. "Now that, well. I don't know what it is. I don't know how to explain it. But I've seen it. It's real."

Omnis has posed:
A nod and she lets out a breath before saying, "Well, I don't know if it is magic or otherwise but seeing as you state you can know it exists. Would you believe it possible for someone to be able to change someone so they could gain power from such. Think like how a plant uses the sun to eat. Would that kind of thing be possible?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy folds his arms, putting two fingers on his chin as he thinks. "Would it be possible? I have to think yes. Is it possible to do intentionally? With science? Probably not."

Omnis has posed:
A frown and she looks down before looking up and then looks to the door. She stands up and makes sure it is shut before looking to Dr. McCoy and then looking down, "Umm..." She then looks up at him, "I assume, what with your...well..." She gestures at him, "Being a large man covered in blue fur that you are probably pretty good at keeping things quiet and not telling others about things, right?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy glances at the door himself, and then tilts his head, considering the young woman. "Sure. Go ahead."

Omnis has posed:
Taking a breath, she looks at the Doctor before closing her eyes. The room's temperature drops sharply as she then raises up off the floor about a foot and begins to glow in blue. She lands softly after a moment, glowing with an aura of blue as the room's temperature drops to the point of being a good ten to fifteen degrees cooler. She then nods to him lightly, "I...as you might have guessed, know someone who was genetically altered..."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy sits up now, finishing his twinkie in one bite, and then rubbing his hands. "Alright Kally. Level with me. What's going on? And what do you need help with?"

Omnis has posed:
A look down, Kally looks up and states, "The people who did this to me were someoen I trusted implicitly and when I found out what I was to them I ran away." She looks to the side, "I am unsure if what I am is stable, safe, or even what it is." She looks at Dr. McCoy and then looks down, "I don't want to die..." She shrugs, "Or hurt someone else."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy leans forward, across his desk, to reach out and envelop her shoulder in his large hand. "Kally. Relax. Talk to me. What are you? What happened? If there's a danger, I can help. I know people. I have resources. How old are you?"

Omnis has posed:
A blink at the touch and she looks at that big blue hand. She stares up it to Hank and then clears her throat, "I am 19." She nods her head, "As far as I know." She nods and swallows, "I was adopted." She then looks down a moment, "I don't know what I am. I know what I can do. I'm fast. Strong. Very fast. Very strong." She nods her head, "Tough, too. I heal quickly..." She shrugs, "As to what happened, I really don't know."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy gives her a pat on the shoulder and sits back again. "Well. What if I told you, I could run a test on you and find out what you are, to the best of my ability?"

Omnis has posed:
A smile and she nods, "I'd...really like that. All I knew growing up was what my fathers told me." SHe nods her head, "They would run tests, do things with various stuff." She shrugs, "I know that's vague but to me it was just doctor stuff. All stuff that they said I needed. I was home schooled. ONly allowed to play supervised with other kids." She sighs and looks at him, "And...umm, well, there's one other thing but it is kinda weird."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy clears his throat and gets a look of concern as she explains. "Did you get any sort of special home schooling? Combat? Weapons?"

Omnis has posed:
A chuckle, "Physical fitness to a degree but...umm." She looks to the side and then looks at him, "You see. There was some stuff I learned from a guy who was in the military." She looks coy a moment, "Before his last deployment. His final deployment." She swallows, "It's kinda why I asked about the afterlife thing."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy rumbles a little hum, and sits back again. Tapping his chin once more. "I'm not sure I understand. But we'll get you tested. Should be a facility we can use on campus to start with a blood test."

Omnis has posed:
"Well, perhaps best not to worry about that." She states and then nods her head, "At least not right off." She hmms, "Does this facility have...very sharp needles?" She asks and tilts her head, "I mean, really sharp." She nods and looks at herself and then up at him, "I was tested and my skin can withstand some pretty serious force. Like, bullets just annoy me level force."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy shakes his head. "Probably not. I'll have to acquire an adamantium needle. If THAT doesn't puncture your skin, then well, we're dealing with a very high level of ability. Tell you what, come back here in a week, and I'll bring some equipment to run some tests."

Omnis has posed:
A smile and she nods her head, "Don't know much about adamantium but I hope it works..." She nods her head, "I really want to find out what this is." She looks to the side, "Before...anything happens." She shrugs, "The more I think on it, the less I realize I know." She nods her head, "I appreciate the help."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy nods and slowly stands, , coming around to pat her on the back. "Just relax. And if you ever feel like you're in danger, or endangering someone, text me." He then goes into his pocket and pulls out a card, wit his private phone number on it. "Don't hesitate in a crisis."

Omnis has posed:
A smile and she takes the card before looking down at it, "I don't think it has come to that yet but..." She looks up, "Never hurts to know." She then nods to him, "Thanks, Dr. McCoy." She nods her head, "I appreciate it."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy nods. "Don't worry about it,a nd take care of yourself. I'll bring some equipment down, and we can figure this out next week."

Omnis has posed:
With that, Kally stands up and nods to Hank, "You really have given me a lot of...hope." She nods her head, "I, well, I trusted my dads until the day they spoke about..." She looks to the side, "...killing me." She shakes her head, "I don't think I was meant to hear but..." She looks at him, "I really am glad to talk to someone about this." She then opens the door and looks back, "I'll see you in a week." And with that the cold seems to vanish complete. Her aura becomes barely visible to the point of nearly being invisible as she walks out.
