Date of Scene: 01 September 2019
Location: Flatbush, Brooklyn
Synopsis: A rooftop meetup between Red Robin and Pippi. Just two acquaintences catching up.
Cast of Characters: Pippi, Red Robin

Pippi has posed:
Flatbush was neither flat, nor actually a bush. Discuss.

However, it was home to some pretty flat rooftops, and a taco joint that a certain canine mutant used to frequent their back-alley menu. Said canine was, tonight, on the first somewhat unsupervised run in a while -- in that probably someone was minding where she was, but she had rein of where to go. So, clad in a pair of dark pants now, with a dark colored shirt and a light jacket with a hood, Pippi was bounding accross rooftops at full tilt, leaping alleyways, ducking around AC units and hopping over chimneys and stacks as she made a patrol route.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake would have continued to dig on occasion to try to find more about Pippi's possible owner. Tonight he had to work in New York so he is doing his patrols here as well. He spots a dark figure amongst the rooftops and heads to investigate, smiling when he figures out who it is.

Pippi has posed:
The digging would have found Donna was a divorcee, animal behaviorist hobbiest and had a son with a minor rap sheet two miles long in the last four years, but decided to never come back before he hit the magical age of 18, and was considered 'self emancipated'. Majority of the family life wasn't public, and after the 'lost dog' post went up they'd stopped posting frisbee and agility trials with their pit-mix.

Pippi, on the other hand, was blissfully unaware that the Red Robin had done digging into her before-life. She shoulder-rolled over a broom handle, snatchig it up and she gives an experimental spin of it around her hand -- hitting herself in the muzzle in the process, backing away and nearly taking a tumble to a lower level!

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will step in and grab the end of the broom handle that Pippi does not have and pull her back up so she does not take that tumble. "You look like ya need a bit more practice there Pip. If you angle it a bit out ya might have to watch your knees, but wager hitting your knees would hurt less than your nose.

Pippi has posed:
Pippi had windmilled a moment, and was thankful that someone grabbed the other end. She gives a sheepish sot of smile, and gets tugged up by Tim.

"YOU underestimate just how hard my head is!' she cheerily replies as she's righted, and she gives a shrug, looking at the broom handle. "But you're probably right. Guess maybe staff work isn't for me." she gives a slight frown, and glances to Red Robin. "Ah, so.... what's up? Gotham not happenin' enough?" she questions, her ears pricking up.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake chuckles softly and says "Oh trust me " He pulls his collapseable bo staff out and extends it "I have some clues on it." He grins and says "Actually just in town and thought I would help some, and happened to see you. How have you been doing?

Pippi has posed:
"All right. Training." Pippi says, but she's giving Tim some space. Seems she hasn't quite forgiven him for bugging her. She spins the broomstick again, and draws it a bit to the side, almost tossing it over her backhand before giving it a look, and the collapsable staff a look, and she throws her oher hand up. "I'm a better puncher, anyway!" she declares, and grumpily flicks her ears in irritation.

"... how about you? Been keeping busy?"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods, a bit and says "Been trying to, helping folks and working on a few things. Encountered a couple of guys the other week in Gotham made me think a bit about you. You said you were training and living with some Ninjas?"

Pippi has posed:
"Never said I was training with ninjas, but I know they've been to Gotham aaand familiarzed themself with your group." Pippi gives a wry smile, and she leans against an AC unit.

"I've met -- what's his name -- Damien? He gave me his real name. I passed a note to someone for him." Pippi admits quietly, and rubs the back of her head. "Violated the 'buddy system' rule because I thought he was some kid picking a fight with a gang. He might have been able to take 'em."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods a bit and says "Ah so you are working with he turtles? I really need to bug him about making proper introductions. He is a good if pain in the ass kid." He offers her a smile "So things been going ok for you?"

Pippi has posed:
"If I could trust you more, I'd offer." Pippi states dryly. Nope. He's still not forgiven for the bug. She swings a backpack out. It's been poorly stitched together, and it looks like someone tried to rip it open. She pulls out a damaged notebook and a pen, and holds it up. "Luckily, I'm good at bringing the paper." she offers as a weak joke, and she gives a shrug.

"Things are all right." she mumbles, unconvingly as she rubs a scar on her muzzle.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake smiles a bit and says "Trust me? If you could not trust me, then I would not have told you about the original bug." He tells her. He sits on an AC unit, and says "What would you have done in the same situation?

Pippi has posed:
    Pippi looks down.

"No. That's when you trusted me." Pippi states quietly, and she reaches back and pulls herself atop the AC unit as well. Short mutant is short indeed.

"'Cause I could have been mad. And what could you have done to overpower me?"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks to her, and says "Well probably hit you in your solarplexes as I hit you with a pepperspray pellet to make ya inhale it even worse than normal. With what I would guess are senses better than human, wager that would have at least put you off your game. And to tell ya a secret, I am a decent fighter myself, and if need be I cheat."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi grimmaces. at the thought of all those strikes.

"Yeah that probably would work." she mutters, and she seems to wilt a bit. "Ah well. Once I catch up to the guys I'll be unstoppable." she states without a lick of confidence to her voice.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake looks to her, and says "With time I am sure you will be, but I have had a bit of an advantage you have been doing this for about a year now, I was about Damian's age if not a bit younger than him when I started my training. You will do fine I am sure."

Pippi has posed:
"Mmm." Pippi concurs quietly, and she draws back a bit to look to Red Robin, in his red and cowl, nd she rubs the back of her head.

"I probably would have tailed you a couple days in person, but I understand that Gotham apparently is *nuts*."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods, and says "also you have a bit of an advantage for trailing me, if I had to guess you would even know that I am carrying some dog biscuits, cat nip, and maybe pick up on the bird seed.

Pippi has posed:
"Well... Pex says my sense of smell is better than hers. Everyone has their own scent. Even everyone we live with, because it changes a bit depneding on what you eat and what you're doing with your day, but there's always like...." she trails off a moment, and her head tilts. "... like how you can always hear the drums in a song. There's other stuff going on top of it, but you hear the drums."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods his head a it to this and says "See, now there is something I might be able to come up with a gadget or something to do, but your naturally much better than I am with." He offers her trying to prop up that confidence some maybe "So, you hunting someoen tonight?

Pippi has posed:
"N...no..." Pippi states, and then she leans forward. "The other night I was on patrol. We found a break in, and there was something there I'd never smelled before. A big lizard, with this claw on its feet that was curved like a moon." Pippi explains. She frowns.

"I'm not exactly looking for her, but if I come accross her I have questions."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmms and will says "Something like this?" HE will ask, and type on his gauntlet and a raptor hologram will appear above it. "Don't know any female lizard people only the one guy."

Pippi has posed:
"Oh, hey, yeah -- somethinglike that." Pippi replies, brightening, and then she frowns a moment, and she rubs the back of her head with a curious look.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods, and says "That is a velociraptor a type of dinosaur. Be careful around one of those, that claw if like the dino one is very sharp and very strong hind legs. So, tell me some abour what training you have been on.

Pippi has posed:
"I know. I had to roll outta the way..." Pippi trails off, and goes a bit distant, momentarily, and then she exhales, and shrugs. "Oh, well, bit of this, bit of that, Alopex is training me on strikes, I'm working thorugh agility with others.. it's fun!" she smiles, her tail giving a slight wag. "A lot of work.... a *lot* of work... but fun!"

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods his head a bit to this and says "Well here is a little hint for you. If you can use something with a slight distraction on it, that they do not expect it can be a good opening. " He will spin his staff and she will hear a decently high pitches whistle.

Pippi has posed:
Yep. She will hear it, and her ears flick back as Pippi makes a slight face, her left ear flicking in irritability at it before she brings her broomstick up to tap at Robin's leg.

"And while they're distracted showing off, it's a good time to strike." she jokes.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake smirks a bit and says "Or while, they are looking at the distraction you can hit them with an unexpected thing." He may have seen the thing to the leg coming but he did not dodge.

Pippi has posed:
"A feignt and sacrifice hit?" Pippi questions, and she gives a little wag of her tail, lifting the broomstick from Robin's foot. She draws her stick back, and breathes out in a bit of a huff as she rubs the back of her head a moment.

"I'm still getting used to the smokebombs."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake nods, and says "Ah yes, they can be a good then. He hmms and says "Can you tell when folks move a little bit by their scent?

Pippi has posed:
"Nah, they have to move a lot. Usually I can hear 'em moving." Pippi gives a wry grin, and then smiles, showing plenty of those teeth. "Unless they're really quiet. I can hear someone's heart beating really hard sometimes if it's quiet."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake hmmms and nods his head a bit and says "That might be where you can pick up your own personal advantages, train yourself to listen, and smell paying attention even more than you normally do those, and you may find your own unique advantage there

Pippi has posed:
Pippi gives a wry smile, and hops off the AC.

"Speaking of training, I should check in. They worry." she replies, and she stands up straight a moment, and looks to Robin.

"No more bugs, okay?" she states, and then gives a grin. "And maybe next time I can make introductions."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake chucles and says "No bugs planned honestly." He will tell her not quite the same as promising none but he is at least trying to be honest with her.,

Pippi has posed:
"All right. Goodnight, Robin -- travel safe back to Gotham." Pippi bids the red-clad caped crusader a farewell, and then hops off the roof to the alleyway below.
