Cast of Characters: Zachary Zatara, Robin (Wayne), Carrie Kelley

Zachary Zatara has posed:
By all accounts, the Wayne Charity Auction was a success for Gotham's movers and shakers and police department along with the intrepid heroes in attendance. The bidding was fierce, and naturally, it wasn't plausible for everyone to get what they wanted, but those with the means walked away with something of significance.

The Waynes are old family friends of the main Zatara line. Zachary, being the clan's most recent addition, hadn't been to the manor before last night and certainly never met Bruce Wayne, but in a week or so, he'll be spending an entire day with the man! A once-in-a-lifetime exclusive prize, for sure, and an opportunity to experience what it's like to be one of the richest men alive? His fanbase will love, love, love that.

He was invited back to the manor, to hammer out the details of how and when, and awaits Bruce's presence in the foyer, standing and looking at his reflection. He wears a business casual fit. Crisp slacks, white shirt, a vest. He idly rolls a coin between his knuckles.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Last night at the manor was certainly a grand event for the Wayne Foundation and the GCPD. So much so that the youngest Wayne was just waking up from his slumber. And certainly not because he was out last night doing any sort of vigilantism.

The scion of the Wayne family made his way down the grand steps, stopping midway down when he sees the young Zatara waiting for Bruce to arrive. He looks like he just woke up, of course. And he was wearing a set of basketball shorts and a tee shirt emblazoned with the logo of the Gotham Knights, and crew length socks on his feet. Immediately he adopted the public facing persona of Damian Wayne. "Hey." He greets, continuing down the steps. He was short for his age, but of course, as last night proved, he was hardly as juvenile as his age would say he was.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
The night had passed in both social and alternative night activities for the members of the household. One of whom was up way earlier than she would have liked. It's where the slow emerging scent of coffee starts to come from as a pot is set out to percolate to fill her cup. It's not long then that she steps from the hall leading to the kitchen holding the mug in both hands to drink deep of the smell as well as the black coffee while walking toward the main hall.

Carrie's dressed casually enough though she'd opted to go past the stage of pajamas straight to her jogging gear. A pair of black leggings, sneakers, and a loose t-shirt that read 'Catch me if you can' with the sillouhette of a jogger on it. Blinking from behind her glasses, as opposed to the contacts she wore during the event last night, she flashes a small grin at the pair.

"Heeeey. Ah. There's coffee if you guys want?"

Zachary Zatara has posed:
The coin, small and silver, stops between Zachary's thumb and forefinger, and at the sound of footsteps padding down the great steps of the manor, the boy magician offers up a premature greeting. "Bruce," It's bold, and maybe a touch presumptuous, to assume first-name basis with the chairman of an international corporation, but Zach is both of these things and more. "Beautiful home. Has Zee ever invited you to the Shado-" That's the voice of a child. Oh.

Zachary turns, coin disappearing in his palm as he catches it in his fist. "You're the lil' Wayne," Ha. He smirks, quickly gaining social footing from that blunder. "The teacher and the pupil. Thanks, Carrie, but I don't drink." Not coffee, anyway.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
The Wayne mix-up has Damian rise a bit with pride. Though as soon as he refers to Damian's stature, the boy immediately lowers to a less good mood. Though the smell of coffee makes Damian perk up again. "Carrie, hey. I think Zach is waiting for dad. Maybe, I dunno. I'm still waking up." He heads into the kitchen, fixing a cup for himself.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley clears her throat slightly at the apparent mix up she'd walked in on. The way Damian reacts earns a hint of a smile that she hides quickly behind her mug of coffee taking a sip of it. "Mm. That's too bad. I don't know where he gets the beans from, but this is honestly some of the best coffee I've ever had." She nods quietly to Damian as he passes by to make himself a cup, and instead slips into the position of hostess much as she could.

"I'm not sure if Mr. Wayne is up yet, but I can check on that. He does have a tendancy to sleep in on occasion... Or get up ridiculously early. It's kind of hit or miss." Even as she offers she reaches down to fish her cellphone out of her pocket to do that checking up on. "I feel really under-dressed compared to you, Zachary. You do pull the suit off well though."

Zachary Zatara has posed:
"That I am, Wayne," Zachary nods, leaving out the 'lil' this time, because copyright and it's no fun if the kid deflates like that, every time. "I have to crank out the details for our date. Are the board meetings as boring as he claims?" He winks, as Damian passes into the kitchen, and looks at Carrie.

"It's no trouble, really. I don't mind waiting," He bubbles up, as she compliments his attire. That's the way to his heart, guys. "Thanks, Miss Kelley. I figured I would be better off overdressing than underdressing. You know, to keep the hopefully good impression rolling." To be fair, he wears a tuxedo and bowtie about fifty percent of the time.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian returns, coffee cup in hand. "Yes." He comments after taking his first sip.

The raven-haired boy with the green eyes gives a little stretch while caressing that mug. "He likes that though. Dressing up for an occasion. Never mind that his normal day in the life consists of board meetings, talking with government agencies and R&D. But it should be fun for you."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley flips her phone in hand when Zachary says he doesn't mind waiting. That might be one heck of a wait though, she knew. "Suit yourself. If you want something to drink while waiting though, other than coffee, I can get it for you." No more champagne, though, it was way too early for that. When Damian returns she flashes another grin. "Did you two get the chance to meet last night? I lost track of things after awhile."

Zachary Zatara has posed:
"I'll remember to cut those bits out of any video," Zachary says dryly. Chances are footage of board meetings would be an immediate no-no. "Hm. Maybe tea? If he's unavailable, I will leave a message with his assistant. Just wanted to drop by and see if I could get some face-to-face before the day."

"We didn't," Zach says, looking back at Damian. "Not formally, anyway. They announced my name and all that jazz when I walked up, but I think I missed you. Heard you got a dinner with Wonder Woman?" He pockets the coin and turns to look at the foyer's painting. "You'll have to let me know if she's as enchanting in person. She would've been my third choice, after Doctor Strange anyway."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian drinks again from his mug, before he gives a nod. "Though I'm sure he will make room for you to see much more than that. Take a tour of the R&D facilities or Applied Sciences...the places where we make bleeding edge technology."

"Yes, we didn't get a chance last night, Carrie." He offers up gently. "And I did win the date with Wonder Woman. She was the one item I truly wanted. Though, the years worth of veterinary services would have been useful. I don't think Doctor Strange would have been happy once he found out how many animals we keep here at the Manor grounds. Four horses, one calf, one kitten, and plenty of koi." And one bat-dragon, but no one needed to know about him.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"I can do tea--" Carrie begins only for Zach to go on about his third choice option. Wincing visibly she lifts a finger to wag in his direction. "Word to the wise, never, *ever* tell Wonder Woman that she was a third choice." Pausing a moment she adds, "Or any woman for that matter. That's just... Ouch." There's a bit of teasing to her tone even if she's quite serious about it. Shaking her head she glances at Damian flashing him a grin. "I'm glad you got that then. I bid on a few just for fun, but I actually won the night with Miss Kyle. That ought to be interesting," she muses with a shake of her head.

But tea had been requested, so she steps back to the kitchen with, "Back in a jiff. You want black, oolong, green, jasmine, or English Breakfast?"

Zachary Zatara has posed:
"Wow. I just have the one bunny," And she's going through her own issues but not something that can be solved with a trip to the vet. Zachary raises a brow. "But I wasn't interested in his veterinary knowledge. His knowledge of the occult and mysticism is unrivaled. After myself, of course." He adds, with a fleeting flash of white teeth. "In all seriousness, it would've been beneficial to practice under someone who's brand of sorcery is different than mine." Also, figure out what the heck is going on with the universe. That, too.

"I'll keep that in mind if I ever get the chance," Zach says to Carrie, chuckling. "Oolong. Thank you."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"Carrie." The boy puts down his mug and raises a hand. "Behind the English breakfast, there's a tin with Cantonese on it. Use that one." It was Damian's favorite oolong. One he drank often, and one he almost never got to share with company. "I hope you don't mind. It won several competitions this year." He comments to Zachary. "Somethings wring with the universe?" Interest piqued, if only for a different purpose in his mind. "Like...how bad?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Right, the red and gold box?" Of course she knew it, she saw it often but wasn't a huge tea drinker herself. None the less, she googles on her phone how to properly brew such tea (because if she does it wrong she might get stabbed), then starts measuring it out and doing just that. It doesn't take long at least. Good teas rarely took long to steep.

Returning with the tea on a tray, complete with little saucer, she offers it out to Zachary as the two talk. "Have you ever been to the Sanctum before? It's really amazing. Just can't really touch anything in there."

Zachary Zatara has posed:
"That's what I was hoping to find out," Zachary explains. "These things usually sort themselves out with time, but my magic has been...spotty lately. Laylines and all that. It can get pretty wild on the other side." The Zataras breed stage magicians and illusionists. It's a lesser-known fact that they can do the 'real' stuff.

"No, but I hear it has a new occupant these days. I need to investigate that too." Soooo many questions, if only he won that item. He thanks Carrie again, and takes the cup of tea. Tentative sips. "Mm."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"You mean Kitty? She was sort of staying there so she could attend college in New York... Dr. Strange was a friend of a friend who offered her a room. Though that was awhile ago, there could be someone new I guess," Carrie muses thoughtfully before her phone starts to buzz in her pocket causing her to jump just a little bit. "Okay, that's my cue to exit stage left for a bit. I've got to take this call. It was nice seeing you again, Zachary." Flashing a grin she heads off adding, "Take care, Damian."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"Thats the one." Damian nods before continuing to converse. "So basically something is up with the magic in the world?" He wasn't quite sure about how all that worked and it didn't really concern him, but he was adventurous. He liked to learn.

Zachary Zatara has posed:
"Something is always up with the magic in this world. A demon here or some cosmic entity there. That's what makes it magic," Zachary finishes, shaking his hands and letting bright sparks fall from his fingertips. "But yeah. Magic is literally being drained from this world, and someone - or something - is using that energy. Big picture stuff, yanno."

Zach leans against the armrest of a chair and crosses his arms over his chest. "I didn't know you had an interest in the occult."
