The Only Drink That Works...
Date of Scene: 21 October 2019
Location: Club Mjolnir, Clinton (Hell's Kitchen), Manhattan
Synopsis: Elle and Grail talk about family, mainly Grail's.
Cast of Characters: Grail, Hela

Grail has posed:
This was the only place on Earth that offered anything that even remotely could effect her. The woman known as Grail walks into the room, staring as she looks around before licking her lips and looking over at the bar. She walks toward it and grins a little as she approaches, her large form walking past people here and there and paying them little mind. She often gets where she is going simply on size and look. So few actually want to deal with a nearly six and a half foot tall woman of dark grey skin and dark red eyes. She walks right up to the bar and finds a spot.

Settling in, she grins and looks around till she spots the bartender. Her hand raising, "Barkeep!" She calls out and points to him before gesturing him to come over. She can see his busy but it is unclear how long her patience will last.

Hela has posed:
When she hears of Grail's arrival, Elle isn't far behind, and soon makes an appearance at the main floor of the club. While the bartender answers the call and comes to take Grail's order, Elle waves her hand from afar, before approaching.

"I remember you from your last visit, the woman with a fine taste in armor, and a peculiar name...Grail was it?" Elle muses, "what brings you to my club this evening? Anything worthy of proper celebration or a day worthy of proper relaxation perhaps?"

Grail has posed:
When the bartender approaches, she smiles as she looks over the man, "I wish to have the Nectar of the Gods. Bring it to me." She nods her head and then she looks over at at Elle and blinks, "Ah, the woman who runs this place." She nods her head as she turns in her stool and looks down, "I do enjoy my armor." She chuckles and looks up, "That aside, it is a lot going on. I have dealt with fools a lot in the past two days and now have information about this world's greatest hero..." She shrugs, "And I am unsure of who best to share it with. So, rather than deal with it right now, I shall deal with my thirst instead."

Hela has posed:
"A bold order," Henrik says to Grail with a smile, but nevertheless provides her with a tankard. Grail is already on the list of people who can handle the potent drink.

"Not many choose to wear what is nowadays antiquated, what lead you to don such armoring in lieu of everyday clothes?" Elle muses at Grail, not fully expecting a serious answer.

"And who is the world's greatest hero?" Elle asks as if having no notion of the fact herself, unless of course it was a way to measure whom Grail considers the greatest hero. One's heroes says a lot about one's persona after all.

Grail has posed:
A laugh comes from Grail even as she takes the tankard and downs a large gulp before she sets it down and looks to Elle, "Well, if you ask those around this world it seems that it was this Superman who wanted me on this world." She shrugs, "And yet he supposedly died in a way that seemed far from great." She shrugs and looks Elle over and then looks back at her drink, "Though, heroes of this world defeated my father so...who knows. As for my armor..." She shrugs, "I am a warrior. My mother raised me that way. What are normal clothes for a warrior?" She asks and turns back to look at Elle again.

Hela has posed:
"Superman...," Elle muses, a bit strange, considering the news of late, "yes, the name rings a bell. You say he summoned you to this world?" Elle speaks as if Grail was some apparation. "Death has many forms," Elle seems to accept Grail's words at face value.

"Who was your father, Grail?" She asks with interest, as Grail suggests it took a group of heroes to defeat him, suggesting he was some great villain. "What is your weapon of choice?" Elle asks, though she's already noticed Grail's scythe during their last meeting.

Grail has posed:
More of the drink is downed and Grail lets out a small sigh of pleasure, "Amazing that Earth has such a drink." She gestures, "Another." And then she looks back at Elle with a smirk as she tilts her head, "I could tell you but I doubt it'd be much meaning to you." She considers, "Though I suppose he was on this planet at one point, or so I've been told." She nods her head and then looks to the side before shrugging, "Know anything about a being called Darkseid?" She asks and tilts her head, "As for my weapon of choice?" She shrugs and reaches back to idly touch the haft at her back lightly before shrugging her shoulders, "It's a scythe. A rather special one." She nods her head.

Hela has posed:
"Amazing that Earth has a great many things," Elle offers with a cryptic grin on her lips. "Darkseid...?" Elle mentions the name, and if it means anything to her, she puts on a great show of being puzzled by it. "I would guess it is the name of a being not from this world?" An easy guess to make, if one judges Grail's mannerism. "A scythe is a rather curious choice for a weapon, not very popular on the battle field...though they like it in movies, and illustrations of Death itself...yours gives the impression of tremendous craftsmanship. Who made it for you, if you don't mind?" Elle gestures all about the hall with it's many Viking inspired dressings, "as you can see, I've my own collection of period weaponry, it is a pastime of mine."

Grail has posed:
"My mother retrieved it for me." She states simply, "And yes, Darkseid is not of this world." She shakes her head and then looks around at the things here before looking back to Hela, "It wasn't exactly made for me but it is mine now." She nods her head, "It's not precisely of this world either." She smiles softly, "Though this world has legends of the one who was meant to wield it." She shrugs, "Not relevant now, I suppose."

Hela has posed:
"And who was that mother to couple with such a lofty being as this Darkseid?" Elle continues in her subtle not subtle interview of Grail, eyeing that scythe quite intently. Whatever she says, she seem to have full awareness that the weapon is beyond ordinary. "Legends do guide our way, who, pray tell, was the weapon destined for?"

Grail has posed:
A grin and Grail leans on the bar a little, looking Elle over, "You are quite inquisitive." She nods her head, "Of course, unlike my mother I rarely care at all about being secretive but you are gaining a great deal without me gaining much." She considers the drinks a moment and then looks back at Elle with a smile, "Tell you what. Drinks are on the house for me tonight and maybe I'll share with you the information you seek." She smirks.

Hela has posed:
"That I am...how else does one come by the means to thwart a Black Sleep?" Elle remarks to Grail, a mischevious smile lingering on her lips. "What is there to gain? I'm a mere proprietess of a Club, or Great Hall if you will," she paints her venue in a more Viking manner once more. "Just because I asked, doesn't mean I seek, there's a great difference there..." Elle notes, before offering, "how about fifty percent discount instead?"

Grail has posed:
A hmm and then she shrugs, chuckling a little. She looks back over at Hela for a moment before shrugging and nodding, "Fine, fifty percent." She nods her head as she looks over at the drinks and then back at Elle, "Though, I find most are far more than they seem. For all I know you're Wonder Woman in disguise." She smirks a little as she then downs the rest of her current drink and takes a breath before looking to Elle again, "Would you believe that I am half-Amazon?" She hmms and then looks down at her empty cup and then looks up, "As for the scythe. It was meant for Hades..."

Hela has posed:
"Wonder Woman in disguise..." Elle speaks the words as if truly considering them, "she is what...? An Amazon Warrior? Not that far removed from the Valkyries, are they?" She mulls it over, as if she could will herself into being Wonder Woman if she just so choose, before shaking her head. "I'm afraid I'm no Amazon, I'm far too short to be one, aren't I?" Elle, 'Miracle' though she may be, does stand a diminutive 5', distinctly non-Amazonian.

"You don't say," Elle looks surprisingly far too open to the thought, "are you among Wonder Woman's number? Is that why you suggested her of all people?"

Elle's brow arches when the name Hades is evoked. One might expect incredulity when the Greek God of Death is evoked. But for a mere moment, it almost seems like Elle might have been reminiscing of an old relative. "One doesn't lightly wield divine weaponry, yet you manage the feat...the part Amazon or at least the fantastic lineage of this Darkseid and the mysterious mother..."

Leaning on the bar a bit, she tilts her head while reconsidering Grail, "are you therefore on this Earth for one divine mission or other? I imagine that usually follows with being given such a weapon."

Grail has posed:
"Well, I only speak of her because I have met her...and I doubt she counts me among her number." She chuckles a little and then she grins and turns around, "I am working on my own mission." She nods her head, "A mission given to me by mother and assured by myself." She nods her head as she orders yet another drink, letting out a mmm at the thought of a new one arriving. She then looks over at Elle a moment and considers her, "I know there are those that can change their size but..." She nods her head, "...I have a mission that may take me from here or may be here." She shrugs, "That part, well, perhaps is for another time." She nods her head and looks to the last drink, putting gold on teh counter before downing it in one go before slamming it on the ground and letting out a pleased sigh, "Very good."

Hela has posed:
"How was it like meeting this Wonder Woman...?" Elle asks with keen interest, after all, she had tried to secure a meeting with her and failed because of one rascally kid made of money. "I should like to learn of your mother all the same," Elle offers in a calm tone, "she must be an impressive woman to have secured such a match." As Grail sets to leave and pays her fee, duly cut in half, Elle gestures with a flourish, "be well on your journey, may we meet again."

Grail has posed:
A smirk and Grail walks past Elle a moment before looking back toward Elle, "Wonder Woman? She was a b**tch." She shrugs and hten walks forward and nods, "My mother, well, that's a whole other story." She nods and walks off, offering a wave back to Elle and then states, "Not something I can easily tell as I leave." She nods her head and without much more she walks on out of the place.
