There is an air of confidence about this woman, no matter what she is doing. She stands around 5'11" and her physique shows that she works hard to keep herself in shape. All toned muscles and hardened abs, visible in the costume she wears. When visible, her hair is red and cut short. Her eyes are a vivid green.

Currently, she is in her Hawkgirl "crime-fighting" costume. Her mask appears to have the face of a "hawk", and it covers the top half of her face and head, starting just above her mouth. There are two sections on either side of the mask, just above both ears, that appear to be hawk wings. She is wearing a high-necked, sleeveless top in yellow with green trim, form fitting and stopping short to leave her firm midriff and hardened abs visible.

She is wearing dark "emerald" coloured leather pants with a pair of criss-crossed belts held in place by a red circular buckle, with a "hawk"-like insignia inside the circle. A pouch hangs from each of the belts, against her thighs, fastened in place with another band around each thigh. On her feet are crimson leather boots. On these boots are two yellow stripes that bisect at the toes. On her back are the wings which assist in giving Hawkgirl the power of flight. They are large, approximately 6' long starting at her back, and appear to be made of dark grey-brown feathers.

Currently hooked into her belt with a leather strap/holster is her trademark Nth-metal mace. It is obsidian-grey in colour, and has dozens of spikes sticking out of the perfectly round head. The metallic handle attached to the head is wrapped in ancient, well-worn dark brown leather straps that allow a solid grip when swinging the mace. It looks like it would hurt...a lot.
|History=
'''History:'''
Romeo and Juliet. Tristan and Isolde. Westley and Buttercup. While all famous love stories, they pale in comparison to the story of Prince Khufu and Princess Chay-Ara. Their story has lasted over 3000 years and continues to this day.

In ancient Egypt, the Prince and Princess were married and loved one another deeply. They found a strange sight in their lands, which turned out to be a space vessel from the planet Thanagar. There they were exposed to Nth metal which, unbeknownst to them, granted them the ability to defy gravity. They believed it to be a blessing from the gods. Unfortunately, the blessing caused jealousy from another called Hath-Set. He killed them with an Nth metal knife, cursing them to an eternal cycle of rebirth, love and loss.

With their deaths, they are reincarnated into a new form. Sometimes it is immediate, other times a generation or two later. Yet they will return and they will not remember their life before. In time, something always happens that jars their past lives into their present knowledge. Somehow, they always find one another as well, sometimes before they remember, sometimes meeting causing those memories to flow forward. When they reach the peak of their love, the peak of happiness, either one or both of them will die. Then the cycle renews.

They have lived thousands of lives. They have been thousands of people. Yet in all of them, they are reunited and their love blooms anew. They have been warriors, artists, poets and farmers. They have been everything in between, from royal to the lowest of castes. Their life experiences have been vast and, once the memories are unlocked for the current life they are in, they can recall them all with vivid clarity as though it was yesterday.

In her last life, the princess went by the name of Sheira Hall, a Thangarian police officer who was married to Carter Hall. They came to Earth on a mission and chose to stay after, to learn more about police techniques on this planet. During that time, they helped a team of heroes during World War II, in fighting Hydra as they attempted to bring through some dark beings from another world to this one. The heroes won but in the battle, Sheira was killed, her soul loosed until it found another body to be reborn.

It was reborn in 2003 into a Thangarian child. Somehow that child was left on Earth to be found and put into Child Services. From there, being an infant, it wasn't long before she was adopted out. Her parents didn't know what she was thus, she was raised as a human. Even when she was young, there were things they noticed as different about her. She was stronger than other children her age. She had amazing eyesight. She had dreams about things from history that she hadn't even learned in school yet. She grew up a normal child and went off to college to study history. After all, her dreams must have been trying to tell her something.

Until the day the strangers came to her dorm room door. They claimed to be with the government and wanted her to join them. They went to a location and she was told about her past, about what she was. She thought they were insane. Until they opened the box and she saw the wings, the costume, the mace. Upon touching the handle of the mace, the memories opened like a floodgate. She knew who she was. Who she had been. She remembered it all. And now, now they needed to recreate the team that once had been to fight the good fight and keep the monsters from coming to this world. How could she say no?
|Personality=
'''Personality:'''
Kendra is a very independent and self-assured woman. She has confidence in spades. Perhaps a bit too much. She fights on the side of the angels but is more a demon on the battlefield. She tends to be opinionated and stubborn. Yet, beneath it all, she is a good woman who wants to help others, to protect them. And deep within, something that only those closest see, is that vulnerability. She is a woman who has suffered for millennia with the finding and loss of love over and over, yet there is still that belief that it will all work out in the end and she will be with her soulmate for good if she just keeps persevering.
|Abilities=
'''Aging:'''
While Thangarian children age much like a human, once they reach maturity, their aging slows to a crawl. This can be anywhere between the age of 19 and 23. At that point they basically age over 300 percent slower than a human. So, a 100-year-old Thanagarian will only look like a 30 year old human. As they age further the ratio changes. Basically, until adulthood, they are 1:1 in comparison to a human. During Adulthood, they are 3:1. Middle Age 4:1. And finally senior years 5:1.

'''Durability:'''
Thangarians are tough as a species. They can take a lot of damage without stopping. When in a fight, they can withstand blows up to their normal strength levels. In Hawkgirl's case, that is 1500 lbs. of force. With Nth metal involved, this resistance is increased 20 times that amount. Again, not that it makes her tougher, but it helps negate the force by negating gravity around the object/person as it hits the nth metal field around her. Thus, she would be able to resist a blow of up to 15 tons without taking damage.

'''Pain Tolerance:'''
Thanagarians have a very high pain tolerance, which means that they feel at least ten to twenty percent less pain from attacks/injuries. This means that they can keep fighting even when they are hurt since something that might put a human out of a fight will merely have a Thanagarian shrugging it off and going back for more. Even when they get things such as a broken bone or lacerations, it's still less likely to have them stopping to head for cover. Part of this may be species stubbornness but it is also because they just don't feel it like others do.

'''Senses:'''
While they cannot fly without their wings and Nth metal, Thanagarians have been flying with those resources for so long that their biology has evolved as though they actually were winged beings. They have the eyesight of a bird of prey, able to see even tiny objects at a high altitude, much like a hawk. Their eyes are protected against the rush of air from the force of their passage. They are able to hear perfectly, despite the roar of the wind as they fly. When not in flight, their hearing is higher than a human, allowing them to hear tiny noises such as a mouse moving unseen anywhere within 100 yards.

'''Stamina:'''
Thangarians have a strong level of stamina, allowing them to keep going when many would be worn out and have to stop. Trying to wear them down in the hopes that will work is a poor tactic to try when Thanagarians are involved. They can battle for up to 24 hours without having to take a rest. After that, they would need some downtime. Part of this is due to the Nth metal negating the weight that might normally cause fatigue.

'''Strength:'''
As a Thangarian, Hawkgirl has enhanced strength levels. She is able to lift up to 1500 pounds with effort. She is durable enough to withstand blows of equal level without being harmed. However, with the addition of Nth metal (found in her costume, wings and mace), she is able to lift 20 times that amount, which would be 15 tons. This is not because she is stronger but because the Nth metal negates the effects of gravity and ignores the laws of physics. Thus it allows her to be able to lift more.
|Skills=
'''Combat:'''
Armed: Hawkgirl is a skilled combatant with a range of melee weapons, generally those that would be found in a more medieval society. She is excellent with a sword, spear, flail and her beloved mace. She is able to draw on 3000 years of experience with practically every type of weapon known to man or Thanagarian. To say she is practically unmatched in this skill, except by Hawkman with the same life experiences, would be appropriate.

Unarmed: Hawkgirl has a wide range of unarmed combat skills. From multiple martial arts to grappling to wrestling to alien fighting techniques, she basically knows them all. After all, she's been around in one life or another for around 3000 years. To say she is practically unmatched in this skill, except by Hawkman with the same life experiences, would be appropriate.

'''Fitness:'''
As Kendra, before she recovered her memories of the past, she liked to keep fit with a mix of fitness disciplines. Everything from weight training to cross-fit. She knows how to hone a physique into a work of art with both tone and strength.

'''History:'''
As Kendra, she was studying History and Archeology in College, with a personal focus on Ancient Egypt. As Hawkgirl, she has the memories from her past lives that can help her fill in the details that aren't conveyed by textbooks.

'''Languages:'''
Hawkgirl has spent an incalculable number of lifetimes on this planet, and Thanagar. She is fluent in several alien languages, as well as a large percentage of Terran languages as well. She remembers all these languages, and can use them as though born to them, so she is indistinguishable from a person who was born using that language. She is fluent and literate in Arabic, Atlantean, Egyptian, French, German, Greek, Heiroglyphics, Interlac, Italian, Japanese, Macedonian, Mandarin, Persian, Russian, Sanskrit, Spanish, Thanagarian, Tibetan, and possibly others as well. Whenever in a situation with a foreign language, she just has to remember back to her previous lives and try to concentrate on that particular language to remember if she has used it before.

'''Marksmanship:'''
Hawkgirl is an excellent shot with firearms, energy weapons and even crossbows. Through her many reincarnations, she's used them all. She is able to hit a target at range, stationary or in motion. However, she is not on the level with a sniper though she would be able to use the weapon itself.

'''Police Procedures:'''
In her last life, Hawkgirl was a Thangarian Police Officer. As such, she has a lot of knowledge of police procedures such as investigation and interview techniques. Additionally, she has the physical training that came with it. She had stayed on Earth to learn more about the techniques used here as opposed to Thanagar and would be considered an expert in the field.

'''Random:'''
Due to having so many lives she has lived, Hawkgirl has literally dozens of skills she can call on at any time. Generally, they will be things like sewing, cooking, survival, etc. Nothing is on a level that it is extraordinary but there are simply too many to list due to the centuries she has lived.
|Resources=
'''Caches:'''
Due to the fact that she often ends up dying and being reincarnated, Hawkgirl has a large number of caches in various locations throughout the world. These will hold currency from that time, valuables and, most importantly to her, weapons. Through these, she honestly has more money than she will use in a single lifetime.

'''Costume:'''
The Hawkgirl costume has changed often. Currently it is a green and yellow two-piece set, leaving her midriff bare. No matter which costume there are some things that are always inherent. There are pouches on the criss cross belts she wears, with the hawk insignia in the centre of the buckle. They contain various investigative tools. On her belt is her beloved mace, hanging from a loop. The classic "hawk" helmet is lined with Nth metal to help resist mental attacks and protects for impacts including average level blunt club or metal impact or small arms fire. The costume is interwoven with Nth metal fibres to protect her body from blunt attacks and small arms fire. This also seems to somehow prevent impacts on the open areas of the costume, as though surrounding her in a "low energy Nth field."

'''Family:'''
Kendra Saunders' adoptive parents are alive and well. They can be called upon in a time of need as any good college student often does. They are also the source of her tuition for college. Although now that she remembers who she is/was, she can afford to pay for college herself.

'''Nth Metal:'''
Nth Metal is an extra-terrestrial metal discovered on the alien planet of Thanagar. It is relatively unknown what its capabilities are, but currently, they provide Hawkgirl with most of her powers and abilities. Only a few select individuals even knows that it exists. It would be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands, and so it's secret is a closely guarded one. The reason for it being so dangerous is that it basically ignores all laws of physics, allowing for some truly amazing abilities. It is considered to be magical in nature.

The main use of the metal is inherent in its ability to grant the wearer freedom from gravity. The metal bonds with the wearer, allowing a psychic bond with the metal. Through this, it allows flight at tremendous speeds (with the assistance of Hawkgirl's wings), eliminates the effects of gravity on the wearer, boosts his strength to superhuman levels, increased endurance, and healing powers (allowing for regeneration of all but the most critical wounds - about 1/4 the speed of Wolverine).

When wearing the Nth Metal, it allows the user freedom of movement within a gravity well, such as a planet. This allows her to carry weights of many times his own weight. Hawkgirl has been known to lift almost 1500 pounds, due to her enhanced physiology as a Thanagarian, and the anti-gravity effects of the Nth Metal allows her to lift 20 times that (up to 15 tons).

The Nth Metal is psychically imprinted on the Hawks for a reason. After wearing it for generations, it has molded itself to them so that it is almost alive. Not in a sentient way, but in a way that allows for the wings that they wear to seem almost like they were a part of the wearer. For example, the wings, that seem as though they are almost hawk wings. They flutter, move, and twitch as would a normal appendage even when not concentrating on it.

When nervous, upset, or angry, their emotions are translated to the wings, and they act as though they are a part of them. Hawkgirl just has to think of flight, and the wings respond. It is a psychic extension of the want and will of the wearer. The wings, when damaged, also cause the wearer slight pain, and if severely damaged would cause a moderate amount of pain to the bonded wearer.

The Nth Metal is also among the strongest metals known to exist in the Universe. Its tensile strength is several times stronger than kevlar, while it is also malleable with the right methods. It would take several thousand pounds of force to come close to even beginning to damage the highly resistant metal.

The Nth metal also regulates the body temperature of the wearer, keeping them warm when it is cold, and keeping them cool when it is extremely hot, even from many extreme environments such as space. They are still required to have a source of oxygen as it is not a normal part of the costume.

Nth metal also has several innate mystical qualities that are largely unexplored. The Nth metal knife that took the original lives of Khufu and Chay-Ara changed their very souls, causing them to reincarnate every time they are killed. Objects made of the metal can also affect mystical beings by ripping through shields, or damaging even those with the fiercest mystical protection, such as those created by Doctor Fate. Hawkgirl's Nth Metal mace has even deflected blasts of mystical energy directed at her!

'''Team:'''
Hawkgirl is a member of the Justice Society of America. She was a member of them as Shiera Hall in a previous life and has been brought back into the fold as Kendra Saunders. She can rely on her teammates to be there for her, as well as any resources the team has such as a base of operations, computers, etc.

'''Weapons:'''
Hawkgirl has huge stores of weapons of all shapes and sizes, the more ancient and basic the better. Most of these are not as effective in combat, as they are ancient and more antique than practical. However, Hawkgirl keeps a store of more recent weapons, some of them strengthened and enhanced with Thanagarian technology. Amongst some of the weapons in her possession are: spear, swords, daggers, glaives, guisarmes, nets, whips, quarter-staff, staves, darts, lance, crossbows, bows, flails, morningstars, warhammers, axes, slings, etc. Also, her most beloved weapon of all, her Nth metal Thanagarian Mace. This mace is of an enhanced Nth metal, stronger than the strongest steel found on earth. It can be used for general bludgeoning, but also has an electrical setting that has a neutralizer. This is an electrical setting that, combined with the incredibly damaging impact of the head, stuns opponents as well. This effect could even send Superman for a loop and is only used on incredibly tough or invulnerable opponents. This weapon can also be thrown for the same effect. See Nth metal for more details.

'''Wings:'''
Hawkgirl wears a set of wings that are enhanced by Nth Metal. These wings are used to help steer, accelerate, slow, and generally fly. The Nth Metal only acts as an anti-gravity harness. The wings are what allows her to fly like a hawk.

These wings are attached to her costume through a hidden harness system, uniquely designed by Carter Hall in ages past. With these she can fly at incredible speeds. She has been known to fly at speeds up to 400 mph, and even above that, but only in an extreme emergency. Anything higher than that would be to sorely tempt a serious accident that even the regenerative powers of the Nth Metal might not repair.

All of these, the wings and harness, are made of Nth Metal, and are nearly invulnerable to harm. It would require extreme levels of superhuman strength to damage them. The wings that she uses are specially designed to fit to her body size and mass, and would not work properly for anyone else attempting to use them, or adapt them to use for someone else.

The wings span approximately 20 to 22 feet when fully extended, and 6 feet tall, extending just above her head. They can be removed from her, and can be damaged, but it is incredibly difficult getting them off the highly trained and expert flyer that she is. If only one of the wings are damaged, it will slow her down. If both are damaged, it will severely slow her down. However, as long as she has the Nth Metal, she can hover in place, and with a exertion of will, move at a snail's pace with damaged wings.

She can easily repair the wings if damaged, but requires her tools back at his headquarters.
|Weaknesses=
'''Cursed:'''
Three thousand years ago, a man and woman fell in love. Yet, another man could not bear their happiness and he killed them both with an Nth metal blade. From that point forward, the souls of the pair were cursed to be reborn into a new life, over and over again. Somehow, they always seem to find each other and somehow, they always get torn away with the death of one or both only to be reborn again in the future, in another life, without their memories until something jars them back and the cycle begins anew. The cycle can be broken but after three thousand years, they still have not managed to do so.

'''Deja Vu:'''
Having the memories of 3000 years in her head is a problem in some ways. While she can focus on memories to draw upon them and has that knowledge there instinctively, she also can be overwhelmed with a sense of déjà vu or flashbacks. Sometimes this will hit her had enough it will give her a headache. Worse yet a migraine. It is rare but there have been times when she has actually passed out from the strength of a specific memory and, generally, it is never a good time.

'''Dreams:'''
She has a lot of dreams about historical events. A lot of these are nightmare where she is reliving her death from one of her past lives. While not inherently a detriment to her other than she may be tired from time to time. It is disturbing on a psychological level to dream about her own death constantly.

'''Instincts:'''
One of the cores to Hawkgirl's abilities is that she has done these things for thousands of years. However, if she stops and thinks about things too much, she can easily confuse herself or lose the ability she is trying to utilize at the worst moment. It is better for her if she acts on instinct or she might find herself being defeated in a fight if she focuses on being Kendra instead of Hawkgirl.

'''Nth Metal:'''
Without this metal, Hawkgirl would be much less powerful. She would find herself without the ability to fly, her strength back to that she was born with (which is enhanced but no where near her Nth metal boosted levels) as well as her resistance to damage. She would also be susceptible to both telepathy and magic.

Wings: Without her wings, she cannot reach any speed of note. She might hover in place or move extremely slowly only. Her wings are also somewhat attached to her psionically. If they are damaged, she will feel pain from it albeit not as severely as if they were truly a part of her physique.

Breathing: However, without Nth metal, they cannot breathe in space or anywhere there is not oxygen. They must have some sort of device or technology to provide air.
