Profile

Elliot is the youngest of three siblings. She's fought hard to get where she is, struggling to overcome a serious learning disorder to fight her way into college. She is one of the fastest learners in the world... But only kinesthetically. Anything she sees you do once she can copy but when it comes to book instruction she can barely comprehend.

Recently Elliot's dropped out of college in favour of joining the Blackhawks, a team of mercenary fighter pilots and heroes under "Lady Blackwood", Zinda Blake. Now she's a fighter pilot. And a vigilante hero, when she's in town. Someone should tell her she should have more sense.

Description

Elliot is petite, slender blonde with an athletic build and slight figure. She keeps her hair long but most commonly in a pony tail or restrained with hair bands. The girl has wide blue eyes and a cherubic face, a slight overbite and small nose making it difficult for her features to maintain any sense of sinister intent. The girl tends to dress in colours; blue, red, or green pleated skirts and matching blouses, jeans or slacks, the occasional peacoat or little hat. She avoids jewelry other than the occasional simple earrings, stud or teardrop shaped bits of gold.

History

Elliot was always a strong girl, in her own way. Her speech was stunted when she first started to learn though she clearly understood everything that was said to some degree or another. Humour took a long time, which people said was a sign of a potentially serious mental disability.

Elliot had a lot of trouble in school early on and was put into remedial classes. It took them a little while to realize she was brilliant at mathematics. Longer to realize she was good at memorizing what she was told. No one believed her mother when she said that Ellie was one of the smartest children she'd ever raised- and Ellie was the third, with two siblings six and nine years older. She was finally diagnosed with Language Processing Disorder at the age of eight. With some special education she took off.

They gave Elliot special medications designed to improve the function of her brain and in some ways it seemed to work. It wasn't long before Elliot's parents were lobbying for gifted education with special accomodations for the girl's disability. She managed to excel in school over time and ended up getting a private school scholarship. Making friends was difficult at first but Elliot saw the world as one full of wonder and possibility. She greeted others with enthusiasm and saw it returned to her. Soon enough she had all the friends she could want. Better yet she excelled and dance and sports, learning at a pace which could only be called astonishing. It never extended to language, however.

It was hard but as Elliot made her way to college she kept her spirits high. Of course, moving to the inner city Ellie was presented with the more unsavoury side of human nature. In a move most would call foolish she, on a few occasions, resolved to help a few people, rescued a cat, performed CPR on a choking man, and ran into a house when she mistakenly thought they were screaming "HELP" and that the smoke inside was from a fire. The misunderstanding was quickly fixed.

Armed with the ability to learn and eternal optimism what will Elliot do next?

Personality

Usually effervescent, Elliot is friendly and loyal. She does her best to reliable, conscientious, and kind, going out of her way to help people. She likes to share her enthusiasm and hope for the future. When under pressure Elliot has two settings. She either fades into the background or hits it 110. It depends on how desperately she needs this to happen. She'll pass the buck if she's nervous. Ellie sometimes underestimates herself and is particularly nervous about things that would fall into the purview of her learning disability as a result her natural friendliness can be readily undermined and turned into social anxiety. She is often mistaken for stupid or a ditz due to her tendency to fail to comprehend what she is told.

Abilities

ACCUMULATED KNOWLEDGE
At the start it is intended that Elliot not have access to much in the way of combat skills or other highly technical and valuable knowledge. As +scenes accrue her skills list will expand dramatically. It is presumed that any given major skill will require a +scene or multiple +scenes to acquire.

MENTAL RESILIENCE
The amount of conviction in the goodness of people and the rightness of her path that Elliot is able to generate is truly astounding. Even when her heart quavers she is able to push past and through troubles that would utterly destroy a normal person. It helps insulate her against fear, heartbreak, and even intense rage. Everything will be okay if she doesn't give up. This doesn't mean she can't be dissuaded, however; her willpower is strong but not nearly so intense. She will rebound from nearly any mental assault but might still be taken down until she can muster her reserves.

MNEMONIC REFLEXES
Elliot received a treatment intended to help with her LPD while growing up. It was a series of cortical boosters intended to stimulate memory. As it turns out she had a far greater memory capacity than was imagined.

When Elliot witnesses someone perform an action, even on tape, she can repeat it perfectly after only a few instances of exposure, and well after the first. This means she can learn how to type by watching someone type or operate complex aircraft with a single observation. She must actually pay attention to commit something to memory to this degree and missing any part of the sequence ruins the effect.

Given time and exposure to skilled combatants Elliot could easily be one of the best warriors in the world. She cannot copy any sequence she would not be physically capable of repeating. For instance, by watching skilled athletes Elliot can perform fantastic dance routines but no amount of observation will let her lift a car.

Elliot can also memorize what she hears and mimic it to the best of human ability, however her Language Processing Disorder makes it difficult for her to fully comprehend and thus mimicking languages in this way is borderline impossible for more than a few phrases.

REACTION TIME
Due to her Mnemonix Reflexes Elliot's reaction times are at a superhuman level; catching one is not outside the realm of possibility. She can, with training, dodge or block bullets and perform other tasks of extreme agility. This is because there is no processing time required. The primary limiter is physical capacity. Elliot is somewhat unaware of this but she can perform rote tasks (even combat) at speeds up to double what a normal person can accomplish. Doing so with something physically strenuous will quickly wear her out and may cause injury.

Skills

ATHELETICS
Elliot did track and some acrobatics for awhile. She's pretty limber and skilled at running away, jumping, and doing flips and other tricks.

COMPUTERS
Computer operation sequences are very easy to memorize. Video games, in particular, become simple tasks pretty much immediately.

DIPLOMAT
Despite being universally cheerful, sometimes to a fault, Elliot is excellent at relating to other people, mimicking customs, following procedure, and generally appearing to belong and be sophisticated and charming. She often acts as a liaison for people in her life and is generally well-liked. This is, of course, hampered by the fact she sometimes fails to understand what is said.

MATHEMATICS
Elliot can do complex calculations in her head in all varieties and has a fantastic memory for figures and equations.

PERFORMING ARTS
Elliot can sing, dance, and act with facility thanks to her Mnemonic Reflexes. She even has perfect pitch. Ellie likes to have fun, bop around, and generally groove.

SPATIAL ACUITY
Elliot is great at creating mental maps, calculating the relations between objects including speed and mass, and other technical skills useful in the field. She almost always knows where her allies and enemies are relative to her and can estimate on the fly even with partial information.

WILDERNESS SURVIVAL
Having gone to several week or multi-week camps out in the wilderness in her youth Elliot has been taught wilderness skills and first aid skills to moderate proficiency. She could probably be useful to injured people and can definitely find water or identify poisonous plants.

Resources

FAMILY
Elliot's family is highly supportive. They provide her with a living wage, school support, +res Family=Elliot's family is highly supportive. They provide her with a living wage, school support, therapy, and- above all- Hope. As long as they are behind her Elliot is hopeful for the future.

Weaknesses

BLEEDING HEART
Ellie will willingly expend her power in order to heal her enemies. She hopes they will do better next time. Chronically. It can be hard to get her to take final steps to stop a foe other than simple imprisonment; others may make this decision themselves however and she will only occasionally interfere.

FAMILY
Elliot's family is a huge source of support for her and destroying them could seriously undermine her ability to function. Worse, their approval factors into her self-worth so even simple things- like coming out as gay- could seriously impact her if they react poorly. She hopes they won't, of course, but it's a weak link.

HONEST TO A FAULT
Elliot is a terrible liar and hates doing it. She hopes that truth will prevail. Not that she's never lied and won't do so again.

LEARNING DISABILITY
Elliot is not stupid. She does, however, suffer from Language Processing Disorder. She has difficulty understanding spoken language, writing coherently, expressing herself verbally, recognizing labels for objects, and sometimes forgets nouns- names of objects and even people. She also has trouble getting a lot of jokes. She has to use a tape recorder to take notes for school. Fortunately for Elliot her difficulties are far more severe for written language rather than spoken so she can generally get by day-to-day.

PATTERNS
Elliot is susceptible to having the patterns she's learned be used against her. Unless she is intimately familiar with a subject chances are she will repeat the same sequences of movements given time. Sometimes she'll do it over and over again. A cunning opponent can therefore predict what she will do.

SCHOOL
Given how much difficulty it is causing Elliot should probably leave university but she Hopes to still complete her degree.

STUBBORNNESS
Hope's bitter cousin. She hopes for the best and so backing down is almost inconceivable when the going gets really intense. While normally mild Elliot can be pretty hard to talk down.
