Optimus Prime will stand against any threat. For millions of years, he has led the Autobots in their war against Megatron and his Decepticons. This humanoid shaped robotic form stands over 18 feet tall. His coloration is mainly in red for the body while blue dominates the lower legs and head. Glowing blue eyes with no pupil are in a face that is vaguely humanoid as well. When necessary, a face shield closes over the lower half of his face to protect him from damage. ( )

History

His life began as Orion Pax. He was given a position in research and information seeking, basically a paper pusher in human terms. He sat at a desk and worked on encrypted files or piecing together bits of information. In time, his position was moved to help the Law Enforcement officers. Being that he was of a sound body and could potentially deal with the challenges, when he expressed interest in becoming an officer, he was accepted into the role.

Training went well and he excelled at the physical combat they learned. He absorbed information at an extreme rate. And in time, he was put out on patrol where he fought the good fight. It was during this time that he read the writings of a person questioning the caste system they all lived in. He was impressed with the writing and, as fate would have it, met the Cybertronian responsible when Megatron was arrested after a bar brawl. Orion Pax was not aware that there were other reasons for his arrest and subsequent torture. He did however know how to look into a crime, and he was the one that saw Megatron cleared of the charges, allowing for the miner to go back to work. Orion worked his way up the ranks, earning many awards for his work on the force, and eventually was made chief. It was then he learned about the corruption of the Senate, how they were eliminating those who opposed them or even let out a whisper of opposition. He forced his way into the Senate while it was in session, confronting them with the three questions Megatron had said should be asked (in his writings). He was severely hurt from forcing his way in and the removal but a sympathetic senator who wanted to see change helped get him repaired. And upgraded.

Then the uprising happened. While Orion believed that things should change, he did not believe in the methodology Megatron and his followers were taking. This led to him recruiting the neutral people of Cybertron, as many as he could, in an army of Autobots to fight the Decepticons.

Millions of years have passed since that day, since he took on the position and Matrix of Leadership, becoming Optimus Prime. Billions of Cybertronians and other sentient life forms paid as the war left their homeworld and spread out across the galaxy. Battle after battle, sometimes winning, sometimes losing.

Then two hundred years ago, the ship that he and several other Autobots were traveling on was attacked and damaged severely. It crash landed on a planet called Earth, where it has remained hidden to this day.

Until fate intervened and brought the ship back to life...and those who still were inside it.

Personality

In essence, Optimus is a good cop who wants to do what is best for everyone around him. Yet, life has become so much more than the simplicity of that. He still adheres to those beliefs and values, despite the extraordinary circumstance involving him becoming Prime and the leader of the Autobots in the war against the Decepticons.

He is a caring and compassionate being. He wants to help. He wants to make things right. He isn't a pacifist but he is someone who would prefer there be no need for conflict. He wants peace between all Cybertronians, and all sentient beings for that matter. Not something that is likely to ever happen yet he still holds hope, even after all these millennia.

He's an idealist who has a code of honor like the Knights of old, meaning he is chivalrous and brave, self-sacrificing, willing to do whatever it takes. He tries to lead by example. He tries to be more than the Decepticons, more than Megatron.

He is a charismatic leader. He tends to inspire confidence from those who follow him. Don't expect him to be the most friendly though, as he tends to be friends without letting anyone too close. To do so is to invite them being hurt to get at him or used against him. Thus, he leads a somewhat lonely existence despite having his fellow Autobots around at all times.

ARMOR
Optimus' current body is composed of heavy Sentio Mettalico armor crafted to be able to endure the greatest impacts possible during the war. The only thing on Earth that might be dangerous to him would be perhaps heave ship-based ordinance or higher than conventional technology. Out in space, there are any number of things that could get through it, but it would need to be of equal or greater power than those Earth equivalents.

HOLOMATTER
Cybertronians are able to project a holomatter avatar roughly 100 meters from their current position. They use this to interact with organic races while maintaining their cover. The holomatter avatar has substance and can manipulate other objects, but its strength levels are rather low. A larger holo image requires a larger expenditure of energy and concentration.

MASS DISPLACEMENT
Like many other Cybertronians, Optimus is capable of limited mass displacement when he transforms from one form to another. This allows some to transform into a smaller form, such as a gun or memory card. Optimus remains around the same size though he is able to utilize this to summon his trailer at will (See +res Magic Trailer) and/or weapons such as his ion blaster or axe. Though it is possible for limited mass displacement without transformation, it requires concentration and causes a good amount of discomfort/energy expenditure.

NETWORK USAGE
Optimus is capable of interfacing with almost any computer network and navigate it extremely quickly and effortlessly. He started his life as a Data Clerk then moved to Research in the Police Unit. From there as an officer and eventually Chief, he gained a lot of skill in accessing information, even on secure systems. He is also capable of circumventing almost any security given enough time. While he could do it, he usually leaves that to others trained in the skill.

PHYSICAL TRAITS
Optimus is quite strong for a Cybertronian of his size. He is capable of lifting 85 tons fairly easily, and can brace and hold much more in case of needing to support more weight. He moves very swiftly for his size, being extremely agile for a large Autobot. In comparison to Megatron, he isn't as strong in brute strength but his agility and speed exceeds the Decepticon, making them an even match in combat. On foot running, he can run up to 120 mph. In alt mode, he is considerably faster. He is a bit tougher than Megatron, allowing him to live through or continue fighting despite severe damage.

SENSORS
Optimus, along with many Cybertronians, perceives the universe through a variety of sensor filters. They are capable of perceiving through infrared, ultraviolet, thermographic, and an energy sensor array that can detect energy signatures and expenditures. Cybertronians are also aware of high and low frequency sounds, though they perceive them primarily as data which also feeds into their internal comms systems.

Cybertronians also have a other senses. They do have a sense of touch, thus why they feel a feedback sort of 'pain' when injured. They also have a limited sense of smell.

SHIELDS
When in a combat situation, Optimus is often mostly surrounded by a level of defensive shielding that helps to absorb and redirect kinetic energy, and energy blasts that strike him. They are capable of absorbing several direct blasts from heavy Cybertronian weaponry before needing to recharge. Also the shield can be coalesced and solidified into a smaller yet stronger shield upon the forearm which when concentrated to that degree can displace extremely high amounts of energy.

TRANSFORMATION

Being a Cybertronian, Optimus is capable of transforming into an alt-mode that has varying benefits. His first alt-mode was that of a small Cybertronian truck, almost like a pickup for an Earth equivalent. After the war began, he switched to using a Cybertronian Semi basically, a truck that was heavier duty and designed for towing a trailer with heavy loads. This is still his alt mode at this time. It is possible for Transformers to gain a new alt-mode to better fit into the world they're on.

COMBAT
In combat, there are few that can compare to Optimus, other than Megatron himself. He has been honed into a true tool of war, despite the fact he's a being who wants peace. As a marksman, he is an excellent shot, even in the most battle-hardened situations. As a hand-to-hand combatant, he excels. From fighting to what might be a Cybertronian version of martial arts found on Earth, he is a master of them all.

LEADERSHIP
This is one of the things Optimus is most known for. He's a great leader. He can be inspiring to others. He knows how to motivate. He can make the tough calls when necessary, such as when in battle. He can think on the fly and improvise quickly.

ORATION
This is one of those things that wasn't really a learned skill, yet Optimus has been blessed with the ability to speak in front of an audience. It is one of the things he is known for, giving an inspiring speech when the time is right. He's even better with prep time but does well even for off-the-cuff speaking. He can read a crowd and discern their reactions to modify his speaking as needed to keep them drawn in.

TACTICS

This is going to cover two areas: Strategy and Tactics. Optimus is skilled at both. He knows how to look at the big picture and make plans accordingly, for the most strategic advantages. Then he can focus down to the tactics needed in order to attain those goals. From long term to sudden improvisation on the fly when thrown into a situation, he makes the hard calls and does it well.

AUTOBOTS
As the leader of the Autobots, Optimus can call on them for anything he needs. Their resources, the Cybertronians themselves, their outposts and bases. Anything that belongs to the Autobots (as a species, not individually owned items) are things he has access to. This is most often used for allies, energon, information, and spaceships.

MAGIC TRAILER
Technically, this trailer is not magical in any way. However, it seems like it to those who don't understand the Cybertronian mass displacement that occurs when they transform. Normally, when in his alt-mode, Optimus is a large truck without a trailer. If he needs his trailer though, it will appear when him when he takes the alt-mode. It is completely at will if it does or does not appear when he takes his vehicle mode.

The Trailer has some resources he can call on in his time of need. It is the home of Roller (+res Roller), his drone unit. It has some spare energon in case it is needed. It has a repair hub, allowing for him to make self-repairs or giving the tools necessary for others to do repairs. It has a processing network, allowing him access to the Autobot computers at anytime he should need them. He has been able to store his consciousness in the trailer (as it is a part of him) when he was horribly wounded in a fight with Megatron.

MATRIX
Optimus has been given the Matrix of Leadership, an item that designates him as the Prime. The Matrix holds the memories of the past Primes and grants the current Prime access to that knowledge. It helps him in making decisions, particularly in the heat of battle. Their wisdom, their victories, their mistakes and defeats. It is all there for him to use in helping guide the Autobots. This Matrix is stored inside of him, with his spark, but it can be removed. Also, it will someday be passed to the next Prime when Optimus is gone.

ROLLER
In essence, Roller is remote controlled, wheeled vehicle that Optimus can send into locations where he doesn't want to be seen or stealth is necessary. Roller is a small robot, sometimes taking the form of a small Cybertronian tank and other times a vehicle with multiple seats. It would be able to fit up to four humanoid sized beings, though it would be a tight fit. Optimus can maintain radio control over it up to 1200 miles away. In essence, anywhere Roller is, Optimus is as he can experience things through the smaller bot. Roller also has an AI system, allowing it to function without being controlled to perform tasks for Optimus. Think of it as an extremely smart dog and Optimus is quite fond of it. Also think of John Wick and don't hurt Roller.

WEAPONS
Optimus has two main weapons he utilizes when necessary, one for ranged and the other for close combat. These are an Ion Blaster and an Energy Axe. Both can be summoned at will (see +abi Matter Displacement).

The Ion Blaster is a large rifle style design. As with many pieces of Cybertronian weaponry, it uses the wielder's own spark to augment the firepower of the weapon when in use. Having a particularly strong spark, this makes the Ion Blaster extremely high powered, though lower than some others such as Megatron's Fusion Cannon. However, it is able to fire more rapidly and more often than Megatron's Cannon. When at lowest power, the blaster will be enough to blow up a car. At the highest setting, it can blast through a Cybertronian who lacks shields (+abi Shields).

The Energy Blade can take multiple forms though they are generally always bladed, such as an Axe or Sword. In one form, Optimus withdraws his hand and the weapon of pure energy replaces the hand at the end of his arm. This allows for easy up close fighting since it is, quite literally, an extension of his arm. He can also create a version of the weapon which he wields by holding it in his hand, in a more traditional fighting style. As with most melee Cybertronian weapons, it is designed mainly to allow for breaking down shields then dismemberment of an opponent. With multiple blows, few shields can withstand the energy weapons he wields.

CODE OF HONOR
Optimus has a code of honor that he lives by. He will not break that code, no matter what. He could be likened to the knights of hold, with a code of chivalry and propriety. He tries to lead by example. He tries to be more than the Decepticons, more than Megatron. While this is a positive factor, it is also something that can be used against him by those that know how to manipulate the Autobot leader.

CYBERTRONIAN
Cybertronians have gained the reputation as being a terribly war-like and destructive people. They are viewed as harbingers of woe and are persona non-grata on many... many many civilized planets. They have been at war with themselves for millions of years and seem to have no likelihood for letting up. Even if peace were declared tomorrow, nobody would /really/ believe it, and they'd just be waiting for the next Cybertronian war to kick off.

DECEPTICONS

When the Decepticons were created, Orion Pax revived the Autobots, taking ownership over the ancient name that had become sullied by other races. They meant it as an insult, meaning automaton. But when Orion Pax stormed the Senate, he reclaimed the name Autobot as meaning autonomous. Knowing the Senate to be corrupt, he declared himself to be an Autobot, hoping to change things from within. But Megatron wished to tear the entire system down, and thus their conflict began and has raged ever since. Any Decepticon can recognize Optimus, and any Decepticon would likely consider Optimus to be an enemy. In fact, many of them would like to be the one that took him down finally, after all these millennia.

ENERGON DEPENDENCY
To function, Optimus must absorb energy. Ideally from Energon though more rough energy sources are possible to be used. He still must imbibe regularly lest his abilities deteriorate and his defenses lower. If he goes for an extended amount of time without energy, he'll revert to stasis lock to maintain life functions but nothing else.

GUILT
During this Cybertronian war, billions have died. Billions. All of that weighs heavily on the shoulders of Optimus Prime. He tends to feel it is his fault. If he had done things differently in the beginning. If he had not assisted Megatron in that first step that led to the two states of Autobot and Decepticon. If he had not helped the miner who was being mistreated and has now become Megatron, leader of the Decepticons. How many would still be alive? Every loss is a blow to him.

MAGNETIC
Though the actual Sentio Metallico (body/skin) of a Cybertronian is non-ferrous, much of their gear and weaponry are made of lesser materials and so are easily manipulated by magnetic powers or devices.

SELF-DOUBT

There is a confidence in the way Optimus carries himself, something that is inspiring and helps others to follow him into the worst of situations. Yet, beneath that is a lot of self-doubt. Is he making the right choices? Is he taking the correct path? Are the decisions he is making his or not, thanks to the Matrix of Leadership. The lives of all Autobots. No, all Cybertronians be they Autobot, Decepticon or Neutral, are his responsibility and he isn't sure he is always handling things in the best way possible. If one of his Autobots falls in battle, was it because Optimus wasn't there? That he didn't give them enough training? So many things in his mind that he cannot share with anyone without potentially causing them to believe in him less (or so he feels).
