Profile

The only daughter of the late King T'Chaka of Wakanda, Shuri's genius is off-the charts. Her genius and incredible engineering skills have brought her to be the lead of the Wakandan Design Group, and she is personally responsible for much of Wakanda's modern super technology.

Standing 5'6" tall, Princess Shuri of Wakanda is a young woman; clearly in her late teens. Her skin tone and features mark an African heritage, and she has quite dark brown eyes. Her hair is done into a multitude of long braids, which she gathers up in a sort of topknot bun before then letting the excess trail down from that, halfway down her back. Her figure is slender and athletic, well-suited to the excellent fashions she often wears.

She's dressed today in something much more casual than princess, though still quite fashionable. She's in a sleeveless navy crop top, with a pair of tie-belt pants in a khaki green. Black mules cover her feet and boost her height another two inches, and there's a layered golden necklace around her neck in Wakandan design, as well as a set of kimoyo beads around her left wrist.

History

Some people are born to success. Others work for it. Shuri's success comes from both. Birth made her the princess of Wakanda, one of the richest, most advanced nations on the planet. Hard work, studying, and training made her a technological genius, head of the Wakandan R&D division at the tender age of 16.

When her father died, her brother succeeded him as king. More than just king, though...he succeeded his father as the Black Panther, the superpowered protector of Wakanda. And for a time, that was the status quo...her brother acting as both King and Black Panther, while she did what she could to support, better, and aid her country through her inventions.

That all changed, just recently. Her brother has made the decision to make Wakanda more open to the world, and she's been appointed to head the Technology and Information exchange.

It's a challenge. But when you're Wakandan royalty, it sort of comes with the job description. Shuri is ready and waiting.

For a girl born to a very traditional culture, in a very traditional family...Shuri bucks all of that, being gleefully irreverant, sarcastic, and full of snark. She's used to being the smartest person in the room (ANY room), and as such, is used to having people listen to her...with the exception of her brother and mother, to whom she will always be the little sister/little girl regardless of how many life-altering incredible inventions she makes.

At the same time, she was raised with Wakandan isolationism, and Wakandan tradition...she has a great deal of pride in her people, and at least a marked disdain for certain "colonizer" behaviors. Despite this, she eats up pop culture (and probably spends more time on the internet than anyone in Wakanda), and is known to quote memes, and comment on Coachella and Disneyland.

INTELLIGENCE

Shuri is mind-bogglingly intelligent, rated up with the top minds of Earth. At the age of 16, not only was she able to understand Wakandan technology, she was the head of their R&D group, making superscience inventions that pushed her already advanced country even further. Cloaking technology, nanotech super suits, holocommunicators, sonic suppressors, and more. She's a super-genius inventor, and if it's understandable technologically, she can probably figure it out and work with it, even things that are up on a Clarke's Law level of "is this magic or just REALLY advanced science".

COMBAT TRAINING
When you're raised in the Wakandan Royal Family, there's always a chance that you may have to challenge someone in combat...or be challenged. Shuri lacks a good deal of applied knowledge here...she's been TRAINED in combat, but it was training. It hasn't been until recently that she's been forced to apply that training.

MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE
In conjunction with her other scientific skills, Shuri is also competent with life sciences and medicine. She's on par with a med school graduate, with a specific eye towards cybernetics.

STEM SKILLS

Wakanda has technology leaps and bounds above most of the world, and Shuri was the lead scientific researcher of Wakanda by the age of 16. She has an IQ that's quite literally off the charts, and an understanding of STEM topics that would boggle the minds of almost anyone out there. She's already a genius engineer without it, but when she has access to Vibranium, she can create truly sci-fi level tech, like the Panther Habits, Kimoyo Beads, Sonic Weaponry and similar advances.

ASSORTED GADGETS
In addition to her sonic blasters, Shuri is a genius inventor, and what she DOESN'T normally carry, she can make with a small amount of preparation. It can be assumed that if she knows in advance that she's going to need it, she may have all sorts of "utility belt" style gadgets. (OOC: This is for basic comic-booky stuff; flashlights, smoke pellets, minor things. Anything more effective would go through staff.)

BATTLE ATTIRE
Not that she's one to often get into a direct fight, but it's Shuri's division that produces all the wonderful weapons and toys for the Wakandan military. Her personal choice is a bodysuit woven of vibranium threads (thus, being extremely damage resistant), as well as a pair of arm-worn sonic bracer/cannons. These are capable of broadcasting devastating directed hypersonic blasts, capable of being scaled anywhere from a blast light enough to stun someone without doing harm, all the way up to punching through solid metal. Because the damage comes as a series of pulses rather than a simple one-shot, the longer she can hold the sonic waves on the target, the more damage she can do. More importantly, given her long experience with it, this sonic wave can negate the protective capabilities of vibranium.

DORA MILAJE
The warrior women of Wakanda, sworn to serve the royal family. Shuri, as Princess, may very well have a group of Doras keeping her safe when she is out and about in public. Think of them like Wakandan Secret Service, if Secret Service were basically a bunch of Amazon warriors.

IMMUNITY
If push ever came to shove, Shuri is technically the princess and heir to the kingdom of Wakanda. This means that while she could be deported, she cannot be arrested or prosecuted for crimes in countries other than her own, unless the country in question is willing to suffer the outrage of Wakanda.

KIMOYO BEADS
The Swiss Army Knife of Wakandan technology, the kimoyo beads are a one-stop shop of goodies. By default, they can be used as a holographic communication device, but there are more specialized beads as well, and Shuri keeps several of each, including beads that can emit a powerful EMP pulse (knocking out technological devices within roughly 100 yards of the bead unless they are tempest-shielded), beads that can perform a detailed scan of a subject, and emergency medical beads that can stabilize serious trauma until a more appropriate facility can be reached.

WAKANDA

Shuri is the princess of Wakanda, one of the richest and technologically advanced nations on the planet. As such, she has access to the wealth and resources of the entire country in theory, with the only one who can gainsay her being the King (her brother). Money is never something she has to worry about, and resources are generally just a matter of time and logistics.

PUBLIC FIGURE
Like it or not, Shuri is a princess from a foreign country. Whether one is in favor of Wakanda or against it, her movements and activities get tracked by foreign intelligence agencies and the press alike. Privacy can be hard for her.

WAKANDA
While she may be over here working to advance the cause of her country, Shuri's first priority is always going to be Wakanda. Anything that threatens her country or her people is very directly her problem. And if Wakanda's goals happen to conflict with America's (or any group, really), her allies stand to become her enemies, with her having very little choice in the matter.

WEAKEST LINK

Let's face it, a lot of people want to get their hands on Wakanda's technology or vibranium. And one of the best ways to try to get it would be to try to kidnap one of the royal family. Since T'Challa and Shuri are the only two royals who leave Wakanda, and he's the frigging Black Panther, she's the obvious target. The fact that she DOESN'T have a lot of direct combat experience only aggravates this.
