Profile

Lady Sif of Asgard. Known as the cold, detached and unobtainable Goddess of War with an attitude, most know she isn't a woman to be trifled with at all. A Princess, a Warrior and a Valkyrie, this woman is cunning and highly intelligent. While she prefers the use of her sword and shield, she knows there's a time for diplomacy as well. Still, there's no denying she's more at home on the battlefield.

Description:

At 6' even, this woman is a bit taller than the norm for Earth. Being Asgardian, she's on the short side for her people. Her form is athletic and strong, with defined muscles. Her hair is black as night, eyes a bright blue. She might be what some consider beautiful, despite the fact she is wearing no make-up or adornments to try and enhance her looks.
She is wearing silver armor over red and white clothing. Cauldrons, bracers and a breastplate. The skirt is made of strips of leather to allow for ease of movement. Wraps cover her arms and legs where the armor does not. Boots complete the look.

History

History:

Born the crown Princess of Vanaheim Sif knew from a young age that she wanted to learn to fight. To be a Warrior like her father. Her mother was quite displeased with this, since her mother was a well-bred Lady who was known for her skill in the various arts. Granted, Sif knew that one day she would need to rule the Realm, or wed to secure an alliance or any other number of duties that fell to her shoulders because of her bloodline. Until then, however. Her drive and determination to become a Warrior, among other things, is what finally had her parents caving and allowing her to train. It was a hope that it was only a phase that she'd eventually outgrow. In order to speed it along, they sent her to Asgard with a nanny to be raised and to train with Einhenjar.

As she grew, Sif focused her attention of learning all she could with all the various weapons and the art of war while also dealing with her mother's lesson on being a proper Lady. Despite this, she became known as the Fair Sif, her natural grace and beauty earning her the name even if she spent most of her days with weapons and muddy. Of course, the Princess trying to be a warrior was not something that other girls looked kindly on nor young males to take seriously. The mocking, sneers, and off handed comments only drove Sif to push herself harder. Eventually, she joined the Valkyries and spent several hundred years with them.

When she returned, she was ready for combat. It was after her first battle, when she stood at the side of Asgard's Prince, that she would be given the place, honor and title of Goddess of War. Still relatively young, she and her two best friends, who happened to be the very Princes she was raised with, would often find themselves in a great deal of trouble. It never stopped them however.

Years would pass and Sif would prove she was more than worthy of her place as a Warrior and a Lady. She would also find herself drifting further from one of her dearest friends, the rift having started when he cut off her hair in a cruel joke out of jealousy and the wig he was force to have made turned black. The plan backfired and instead of dulling her beauty, it only increased it and gave her an exotic look due to that lack of hair color being present among the Aesir.

Throughout time, Sif and the Warriors Three and her dearest friends would find themselves in a bit of trouble due to their adventures, trips to Midgard or the other Realms. Even today, the trips back and forth continue.

Personality:

Lady Sif, while she may seem pretty easy to read, is a complex woman. On the surface, she seems hard, cold and her smiles or laughter rare along with an extreme dedication. This is what she shows most.

There are some who know the warmth she's capable of. The gentleness and how easily she can care. Those also know her loyalty and determination. Only a few know that there's a vulnerable side to the her. That she fears losing those she loves. She fears failing in being able to protect them.

Those privileged two or three are the ones who have seen and held her as she cried. Seen the pain she normally hides when she's wounded physically, mentally or emotionally. They are the ones who know her to her core.

Agility:
Sif was born with a natural grace, litheness, flexibility and sense of balance that far exceeded most others, making her all but supernaturally agile and allows her to easily and quickly move and shift her body as needed.

All-Tongue:
Sif is blessed with the All-Tongue, or All-Speak, making her mini-lingual. There isn't a single language she doesn't understand or speak no matter the origin.

Density:
Being an Asgardian makes Sif's body much harder to damage. She can withstand things such as high energy blasts, extreme temperatures, explosions, extreme depths and extreme force. Her tissue being so dense makes her very difficult to hurt but it's not impossible. She's also far heavy than one might guess simply by looking at her.

Healing:
Despite it all, the 'goddess' can be hurt though her body regenerates much quicker than any humans. Severe gashes and punctures can take only hours. Broken bones? Mere days at most. Sif is also immune to all illness and all diseases outside of Asgard and Vanaheim.

Immortality:
Like all Asgardians Sif is immortal but isn't. While she can be killed it takes a extreme amount of damage to do so.

Intellect:
Sif is a very intelligent woman and what she doesn't know can be learned very quickly. Her mind moves at a very quick rate which allows her to process information fast and make on the spot decisions easily. While not a genius, she's not far from it and tends to think on multiple tracks at the same time.

Speed:
No speedster to be sure, Sif still runs faster than the fastest Olympic athlete. This applies to her reflexes as well.

Stamina:
Being Asgardian means that Sif never really needs to sleep, eat or drink and perform at peak performance for weeks on end before she every even starts to tire.

Strength:
While most Asgardian females max out their strength at around 25 tons, Sif can lift over 35 and hits with just as much force.

Teleportation:

Part of her birthright as a Vanir, Sif is able to teleport. She can teleport others with her but they must be in physical contact with her in some way and she must have a way of recognizing where she is teleporting to (she's been there, she's seen a picture, someone has given her coordinates, etc.). This can also take her to a person she is familiar with, be it personally, by photo, et cetera. Her teleportation is practically instant, happening in the time it takes to blink.

Archery:
Once a Valkyrie and a Warrior with thousands of years of battles under her belt, Sif is a Master with a bow. She rarely misses and if she does, there's a chance it was on purpose. There's very few can best her.

Cold Weapons:
A cold weapon is a way of referring to any weapon that does not involve fire or explosions (such as the act of combustion) as a result from the use of gunpowder or other explosive materials. Ranged weapons that do not include gunpowder or explosive materials and melee weapons are cold weapons. In these weapons, Sif has spent thousands of years training with these various weapons and using them on the battlefield. She's the Goddess of War, the Sword and Shield of Asgard. There's only one or two people who can best her.

Dancing:
Despite being a Warrior, she is also a Lady and as such has been taught various forms of dancing. Like her instruments and her singing, dancing is one of Sif's passions and something she does every chance she gets. Her natural grace, agility and ability to learn have made her one of the best though she always works to improve and learn new ways.

Hand To Hand:
It never pays to rely on having a weapon on hand and because of that, Sif made sure to learn hand to hand combat as well. Like the sword, she excelled in her combat training and has since, over her thousands of years of life, used it more than once. It's something she practices daily, like her use of various weapons, so that her skill does not fade.

Instruments:
Sif is a master with the Harp, Lute, Violin and the Flute and an expert with many other instruments. There's still some she doesn't know but isn't any instrument she can't learn.

Knowledge:
While Sif may shine in the art of War, a Master strategist and tactician, that isn't the only knowledge she possesses. As Royalty, she has had the best tutors and as such knows the histories, stories and lore of all the races within the Nine Realms and many who have come in from outside it. On top of this, much of the technology found outside of Asgard (especially on Midgard) is rather antiquated to her and as such she insisted on learning how to use it as well. One never knows what technology they will have to deal with after all! Because of this, she finds it quite easy to blend in on other Realms should she need to.

Riding:
There's very little Sif can't do from the back of a horse. Fighting, tricks, et cetera. She's as comfortable on horseback as she is walking or sitting and whatever she can do on the ground, she can do atop a horse, a pegasus or any other type of mount.

Ruling:
The Princess of Vanaheim and next in line for the throne, Sif has been taught all things that being Queen entails. Politics, etiquette, seduction, hospitality, wit, word play, etc.

Senses:
Thousands of years of training and wars. Hundred of thousands of battles. All five of Sif's senses as well as her perception has been honed to well above that of normal warrior's, to the point of being supernatural.

Singing:
Gifted with one of the most beautiful singing voice in all Nine Realms, it has graced the Halls of Odin's palace more than once. Her range varies which makes her capable of singing a wide array of songs in various styles.

Willpower:

Thousands of years old, the Goddess of War has earned the title over and over again. A Valkyrie. A future Queen. A sorcerer for a friend and who has taught her to shield herself mentally. A woman who has steeled her own will. It is almost impossible to get Sif to bend in a way she would not choose to.

Armor and Shield:
As it is made of the strongest metal in Asgard, Sif's armor has been tailor made to suit the Goddess of War. Dense and durable, it's made to withstand extreme battles, even on a daily basis. Practically nothing can pierce it.

Asgard:
Sif may be the heir to the Vanir throne but Asgard has been her home most of her life. She holds vast wealth, a small palace and title there and knows, no matter how bad things get, she can always go 'home' again.

Friends:
Thor and the Warrior's Three are her dearest friends and them. They may seem like a weakness but they're also her strength. To endanger them... threaten them... risks Sif's wrath and a demonstration of how she became the Goddess of War. Sans any restraint.

Heimdall:
The Guardian is both Sif's friend and her brother. The two are close and she sees him as an inspiration. The Lady holds a great amount of respect and admiration for her brother and will often turn to him as a confidant and for advice. She loves her brother dearly and there's nothing she wouldn't do for him. She also knows, that if she needed his help, he'd be there for her as much as he possibly could.

Reputation:
A Princess, a Warrior, A personal Valkyrie and considered one of the most beautiful women in the Nine, and one of the single best sword wielders in all of the Nine Realms, Sif's reputation is something she has carefully cultivated over the thousands of years she's been around. Myth got some of it right and some of it wrong. She allows people to make assumptions, even plays them up, because it gives her an advantage.

Sword:
Brumeoalfold (Meaning: The Bridge Between Worlds) is forged of Uru and in the same manner as Mjolnir, Sif's sword is also enchanted by Odin himself. The blade will never dull, can cut through practically any substance and can be used to deflect energy and/or extremely powerful attacks. On top of this, the sword can also, through a series of distinct and intricate movements, open a portal to any Realm Sif is familiar with or has a way of recognizing. This portal will stay open until Sif herself steps through it. There is a second blade hidden within it that can be extended to turn it into a dual bladed weapon which can be wielded in hand to hand or thrown like a spear. If necessary, the weapon can be split in the center giving her two separate swords.

Valkyries:
While Sif may not live in the home of the Valkyrie anymore, the Valkyries are still her sisters and she is still welcome there. Just as she would go to their aide if needed, so too would they come to hers on the rare chance Sif would call for them.

Vanaheim:

Sif considers Asgard her home, having spent most of her life there. The truth is she is the Princess of Vanaheim and heir to throne. With that comes money, title, power, palaces, et cetera, all at her fingertips if she should truly need assistance, need to retreat or simply wish to escape for a while.

Apples:
Like all Vanir and Aesir Gods, Sif's near immortality is based on needing to eat a Golden Apple on a semi-regular basis. Should she not be able to, she will begin to age faster than normal and her immune system may be somewhat compromised.

Friends:
Thor and the Warrior's Three are her dearest friends and there is nothing she wouldn't do for them. It makes them the perfect tools to use to manipulate the Goddess.

Reputation:
Sif has a reputation, part of which is intentional, as being cold and heartless. As the Goddess of War, she is seen as distant, imposing and hard. This makes it difficult for her to connect with people.

Valuable:
Asgard's Goddess of War, Vanaheim's heir to the throne and friend to some very skilled and/or powerful people... This often paints a target on Sif's back for a myriad of reasons.

Warrior's Madness:

Sif is the Goddess of War for a reason. Not just because of her mind but her skill on the battlefield, her ability to 'turn off' physical pain and, yes, her sometimes short temper. Unfortunately, there's a thin line between battle prowess and Warrior's Madness which is when slips into such a state that they risk destroying friend and foe alike. Something that has the potential to get one banished... And it's always something Sif has to be careful of not letting herself sink into. It would be very easy to do so at times.
