Profile

The runaway child of a family of Purifiers, and Mutant with the bizarre ability to enter and control dreams. A young boy who has made a deal with the Lord of Dreams, Hunter spends about as much time in the Dreaming as he does in the physical world. The new student at Xavier's can enter and travel through dreams, alter them, heal through them, and even pull things into the real world. The boy can never sleep himself, however, and life seems different when you are always awake...and the lonely hours stretch so far...

DREAM CONSTRUCTS

If you can dream it, he can make it. Sort of. This is one of Hunter's oddest, but most powerful abilities. He has the ability to pull things from the Dreaming and into reality. Currently he is only able to do this with inanimate objects at will, but sometimes in a burst of power, or against his will, he may cause living dreaming creatures to cross into this realm.

If a sleeping person is within ten feet, he has the ability to reach in and pull something out. He can 'peek' into the dream at this range, and see what is going on, and what could be useful. He can pull weapons, armor, devices or other items. However, the more impossible the item is in the real world, the less time it will last. For instance, pulling an almost impossibly beautiful gown or ring from a dream and the item could last a lifetime, even when out of his view. But a lightsaber? A scene, if he is lucky. Something even more bizarre might last even less time. Some of these things are possible due to 'super science' or 'powers', but if it is something not readily available to the majority of the world, it suffers from limited time (Unless harmless clothing jewelry or similar)

Items he pulls out tend to vanish when their time is up, returning to the Dreaming. Clothing and jewelry and swords and such are called 'voile' in the terms of the Dreaming.


DREAM CONTROL

Once inside of a dream, Hunter has access to a few abilities. He can work to shape the dream around him, for instance. The more changes he wants to do, the harder it becomes. He cannot simply turn a nightmare into a happy dream. He has to work in parts, changing one monster into something else, and one location into another. It is art, and it takes effort.

If he applies himself, however, he can really make massive changes to the dream around him. With enough work the most horrific dream can be transformed into something happy and calming. He can also 'incept' ideas, like in that weird movie. It is not nearly that easy, however, but he CAN make sure bits and pieces or entire dreams are FULLY remembered, unlike a normal dream.


DREAM HEALING

This is something he is only just beginning to dabble in, and it is something he absolutely does not understand. Using his dream control and empathy, he can use dreams to lessen mental fatigue and mental illness. Enough work could cure hardcore insanity, but it is draining and HARD. Even stranger, though, is that his dream control can physically heal people. By making a dream comforting or inspiring, he can restore some vitality to a body and help a person heal. Working with a person's dream can up to quadruple a normal person's healing times. Some day, it might even be better.


DREAM SENSE

He feels Dreams due to his internal connection to the Dreaming. He can sense dreams up to one hundred feet away, even through walls. He cannot tell exact details at this point in his training, but he can tell the kind of dream. He can sense if people are having general, normal dreams but can immediately tell if a person is having a bad nightmare. Night Terrors feel like nails on a chalkboard to him. He can immediately tell if somebody or something enters somebodies dreams if it is within his radius as well. He has a hard time blocking these sensations out at this time.


DREAM TRAVEL

Hunter has the ability to enter the dreams of anybody who is slumbering within one hundred feet, even if they are out of sight, or through walls. He physically enters the dream, leaving no physical body. While inside the dream, he can use it to enter into the interconnecting Dream Dimensionor Dreaming.

Once inside the Dreaming, he can go from one person's dream to another, even if they are not beside one another. Going from one dream to another, he can technically start in New York, and end up in a dream in Russia. He can exit any person's dream once inside of it, manifesting beside that slumbering person. Exiting a person's dream immediately awakens them, if it is not the person who's dream he originally entered. This makes it difficult to use this power for assassination or something though not impossible.

It can be difficult to find the exact dream Hunter is looking for, but this is still much faster travel then in the real world. Moving through a person's dream in a rush can leave nightmares or confusion in his wake, and if he moved from New York to Russia as swiftly as he could, it might take him up to six hours. As he gets better at his abilities, this time will shorten.


PEOPLE

When travelling into out of dreams he can bring people with him. If they are holding hands, and others are holding hands with them, etc, he brings them in and out of the Dreaming with him.


SLEEP

He doesn't. He can't. He needs periods of downtime and less physical activity due to his body getting tired, but his brain does not need the downtime. He could not fall asleep if he wanted to. He can walk and control the world of dreams, but he is banned from every having his own. Because of this he has a lot of free time. Thus being damn good at some skills he normally would not be old enough to really get down.

CINEMA Oh, boy, does Weston know a lot about movies. He can discuss the history of cinema for hours, and can talk about details from everything from the first Talkie, to the newest shlock horror fest.

EMPATHY

Due to his connections to dreams he has learned a lot about people. Some he doesn't really 'get' yet at his age, but he has witnessed a lot. He is very good at seeing through a person's lies or insecurities, and is also excellent at helping talk them through their problems. He is the guy you want with you if going through a shock or breakdown, as he can talk you right back up. He is also very good at looking into a dream and piecing together the meaning of it (If there is one. Not all dreams have real meaning. Sorry Freud. Sometimes flying is just flying.)

FIGHTING

He grew up as a Purifier, and he was expected to be able to cause some trouble. His dad violently forced him to learn how to box. He is no master warrior or anything, but he is absolutely able to hold his own in a hand-to-hand fight. He has no idea how to really use a melee weapon or use a gun, though.

LITERATURE

He reads, too. A lot. He has read the classics, and remembers them well. He can quote Hawthorne, Keats, Kerouac or Treasure Island. He could practically have a degree in the subject if he had read them during actual classes and not because he does not sleep.

SKATING

Just like his surfing, he is good but not a professional. He can perform all kinds of tricks, and could teach somebody how to skate...but competing in the X Games is unlikely.

SURFING

He is no pro surfer, but he is very skilled. He can handle a lot of crazy waves and maneuver well on a board. He could even teach others how to surf.

DREAMING

Hunter has access to the Dreaming, the land of Morpheus. This is the Dreaming, ala Sandman. A realm of dreams and nightmares. He can go from dream to dream and explore the crazy place, make friends and enemies with the inhabitants, etc. I can't go into full detail on this seperate realm, as it would take an entire comic series (Like Vertigo's Sandman!) to do it justice. But it is weird, intense and dangerous.


SCHOOL

He is a student at the Xavier School, and that comes with all of the good and the bad you would expect it to. Good: A place to live and people to rely on who understand. Bad: Home gets blown up all the time.

DREAMING

As part of his bargain with the Lord of Dream, he is expected to be called upon to defend the Dreaming or those within it if he must. So far this has not come up, but someday he may need to sacrifice much for them.

FAMILY PROBLEMS

His family doesn't want to bring him back home...his family wants him DEAD. His siblings and parents (Especially his father) are members of the Purifiers hate group. He was raised within the group as well. His family cannot stand the idea of having a disgusting Mutie in their family.

FORMER HATER

Hunter has a lot of guilt issues, since he grew up as a hateful member of the Purifiers. He has known what he really is since he was fifteen, and has been keeping it a secret for a few years. He was a coward and did some bad things to hide the truth from his family. He has a lot of guilt over it all, and sometimes it weighs him down.

MUTANT

He is a Mutant. While he is not physically obvious, this brings the numerous issues tied to being a member of his species, such as prejudice and social issues.
