Atlantean names are names used by people from Atlantis. Atlantean surnames are different from most other naming systems in the surface world by being patronymic and occasionally metronymic: they indicate the father (or mother) of the child and not the historic family lineage. Generally, a person's last name indicates the first name of their father (patronymic) or in some cases mother (metronymic). According to Atlantean naming tradition, last names end in -son ("son of") or -sen ("daughter of") with few exceptions.
