Description
Description:
He is wearing some sort of combat suit. It is gray in color with a red V across the chest. He has weapon holsters on his hips and weaponized bracers on his forearms. He appears to be wearing a kind of harness with a heavy backpack. He has fingerless leather gloves and heavy combat boots. He was with a purpose and confidence.
History
History:
Sam Wilson became a Pararescue Airman being dropped into dangerous situations to pull out civilains or conduct operations behind enemy lines. He was taught to use the Exo 7 Falcon suit. He served with distinction until his partner was killed in the line of duty. He did not have the heart to keep running missions after that. He left the Air Force and returned to Harlem.
Once back in Harlem, Sam began an outreach and community program. He helped Veterns coming back from war as well as the Needy in his own community. He blends the work of the military with his father's work in Harlem. When duty once more came knocking for Sam, he was able to use the suit from the Air Force to become the adventurer known as the Falcon.
Personality
Personality:
First and foremost, Sam Wilson is a believer. He believes that what he is doing is right. He believes in the Cause that he fights for. Once, it was his father's church. Following that, it was service in the US Military and his role as a PJ. Now, he blends these to fight for those that cannot fight for themselves. He fights to oppose tyranny as he sees it. The flip side to this is that he can be dogmatic and inflexible. However, he has proven adaptable in the past. It just takes a very good arguement.
Sam is absolutely fearless. He is willing, and sometimes even eager, to jump out of safety, be it retirement or helicopter in a storm, into the fray where he puts his own life on the line in order to help others. He was doing this before becoming a "Superhero" when he volunteered to become Pararescue. There is going into a dangerous situation to fight, and there is going into a dangerous situation to pull others out of harm's way.
Sam is community oriented. He came from a strong community in Harlem where his father was a leader in the neighborhood. He believes in helping others with his works. He was there raising his brother and sister after his parents died. He was there for fellow Airmen, soldiers, sailors, and Marines during his service in the line of duty. Now, he works helping those veterns readjust to civilian life and deal with the mental health issues of service. He is there doing soup kitchens and food drives in the community. He believes it is his duty as a human being to care for his fellow human beings and this is more than just how hard a punch he can land.
On the other side, Sam can still be that angry young man that he was as a teenager. He believes in justice, and he gets angry when he sees corruption and cruelty. He would rather spit in the hand of the corrupt than make a deal that would make his life better. He can anger the people in power with his own self rightous anger which sometimes doesn't make him a great team player.
Sam is also a bit of a daredevil. One would have to be to strap on a pair of mechanical wings and take high speed flight. He can be a little reckless at times as he just leaps and trusts his "wings" to carry him through any situation.
Abilities
Enhanced Vision:
Through the goggles he wears, Sam Wilson can simulate and surpass the superior eyesight of a bird of prey. He can see various spectrum wavelengths as well as seen objects that are either far away or too small for the normal human eye.
Flight:
Skills
Ariel Acrobat:
Sam Wilson is quite skilled in ariel acrobatics through his training with the EXO-7. He can maneuver like a bird of prey. He can pull in the wings and dive, tuck and roll, fight, punch, and kick while in mid air and even during mid flight. The air has become as much his element as a diver in the water or soldier on the ground.
Marksman:
Sam Wilson is a skilled marksman with small arms from his USAF days. His prefered weapons are machine pistols that he carries on his side when in his role as the Falcon. They are spring loaded to get to his hands quickly even while in flight. He is also proficient in the mounted machine gun and rocket launchers in the bracers of his uniform.
Pararescue:
The Pararescuse Jumpers, or PJs, are the Air Force answer to Navy SEALs. They are put through high endurance training, jump school, small arms usage, and combat and survival training. They are also trained EMTs as they are often dropped into hostile enviroments, both combat and civilian, where they are to find, stabilize, and remove wounded from the field. This includes being rescue swimmers for Air Force Search and Rescue. The PJs will drop into the ocean during a hurricane to get someone out of a sinking vessel and get them back to the helicopter. Sam Wilson is a PJ so he is one of the best soldiers the US Military has.
Pilot:
Resources
Exo-7:
Sam Wilson is able to fly and be the Falcon through the use of the EXO-7. It is an experimental winged harness created by the Air Force for elite PJs; Sam Wilson and his partner Riley included. The wings are made of a flexable microcarbon which makes them incredibly light and yet durable. Flight comes from the jet pack engine while the wings provide the means to steer while in flight. The pack provides enough thrust for the wearer to carry one grown adult as well as the Falcon. At maximum, the Falcon can reach speeds approaching 300 mph. The wings collapse back into the back when not in use and extend to an eight foot wingspan when fully deployed. The wings are strong enough to repel small arms fire and can be used as a make shift shield in emergencies.
Goggles:
Falcon wears goggles while in uniform. These provide a Heads Up Display to Sam which can allow him to see different spectrums, track targets, and see either at a greater distance or small things close up. The display can be linked with Redwing so he can see what his robotic bird is also seeing and/or tracking.
Redwing:
Weaknesses
Anger:
While Sam has matured from the young teen back in Harlem and often maintains a very casual demeanor, Sam has a temper. It can cause him to be reckless or take chances that he probably should not. He can get in over his head when he rushes in first and asks questions later because he was angry at the time.
Dogmatic:
Sam Wilson is a believer. While it is good to have beliefs and a cause to fight for, beliefs are hard to change. He will stick with what he knows is right probably longer than he should some times. He believes in his heroes and sometimes fails to see the failings of those heroes.
Human:
Despite his skill in flight, Sam Wilson is still only human. He doesn't have super soldier serum or a magnificent brain. He is a soldier and a good man working to do the right thing. If or when his flight harness is damaged, his ability to contribute to any kind of military/superhero operation becomes a great deal more limited down to the level of a grunt on the ground.
