- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
It is a beautiful day in Paris. A perfect time to get out and walk, enjoy the air and see the sights!
And Nick is indoors.
But with the generous allotment of windows in the deluxe suite booked for him, the musician is not lacking for the sunlight. It is everywhere, filtering in and reflecting off the crisp white of the bed linens, wall trim, and other bits of furniture bordering on the side of lightly colored.
There's no filming on schedule for today and for good reason. A sizable chunk of those involved with the production are from the Americas, and while it might not be a Parisian thing, Fourth of July is a US thing.
While others are taking advantage of the time off to relax in the hotel. Nick is packing up a few things for the trip back.
It is at this point he's debating about a recently acquired device and whether or not it would be more secure staying in the hotel room, or coming with through airport security.
Decisions, decisions...
- Lucifer has posed:
Getting to Paris is easy. Finding Nick is also easy. Normally, Lucifer respects rules and regulations.
Normally.
But being far from the normal family or normal circumstances, the Devil is bound to bend a few rules. Perhaps even break one or two. He wants to have a little fun with it though - especially with this new revelation that he's a fantastic actor.
So he and Nathaniel arrive in that one-two step fasion...right outside Nick's room. There's a lifting of a hand and a rat-a-tat-tat against the door for a knock.
"Room Service for Monsieur Nick Drago." WIth a voice that has a slight falsetto added to it.
- Sinister has posed:
Sinister is accustomed to the far fetched and the fantastic, the foibles of the faustian master of the Netherworld known as Hell. So, of course, knowing intention ahead of the moment is one thing, doing a damn thing about it, is another thing entirely. He's dressed a'la mode, looking quite like he could belong in the higher eschelons of parisian life -- the clean lines, tailored to the body, the simple but summery colours, with his shirt undone and a light jacket. Nevermind that he purchased not one item of that, sometimes being aware of fashion is all that it takes to craft the right look.
"A little harsher in the back of the throat with the r sounds, if you make any.. " he whispers, checking the levels of cleanliness with a visual overall.
A pause "I wonder if that little bistro outside of Montparnasse has free tables tonight, they do a delightful Fruit de mer."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As the rat-a-tat-tat kills the calm silence from within the suite, hands that had previously been tasked with packing cease their motion. A mind that had been contemplating devices is now directed towards the door.
He did not order room service.
...looking for an actor...
There's no immediate movement towards the door, nor speaking up.
Thoughts of a run down apartment come to mind. Barely furnished, likely held together by the dirt and grime come to mind. Magazine being rolled up in hand in response to that door in his memory gets knocked.
A hand reaches over to a hotel provided magazine, following suit.
He's not supposed to be on their radar though. Unless it's bad intel.
But he didn't order room service.
There's a flicker to Nick's form as he quietly moves towards the door, rolled up magazine lifted.
- Lucifer has posed:
"We could always check after we tell Nick hello..." Lucifer whispers back with a smirk. Not knowing there is an impending magazine beat down coming his way.
With no immediate answer to the door, Lucifer looks the frame up and down before knocking once more. "Monsieur...open the door s'il te plait? Ve have a very importante delivery for you." And after that he sniggers. Trying very hard to hold his composure but losing the plot very quickly as well.
- Sinister has posed:
Anyone would think he was impish by nature. Kaboom tish.
"Careful, there's a rolled up newspaper or magazine being used as an improptu bopping device on the other side of the door. You'll be thwacked..." Which seems to amuse the man greatly, though he seems to think upon the potential of parisian cafes and pulls out his smart phone, scrolling silently and gazing at the screen. "Table for two or three, I wonder?"
And then because jokes only go so far, "He's going to burst if you don't open the door, Nick. And how do you feel about langousines?"
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the general insistence of the next knock, there is no motion to move quicker. Give no sound. Do not give them a clue to where behind the door you're positioned. And at some point risk sliding the cover off the peepho-
And then Sinister's voice speaks up.
"Ohthankgod-" Nick mutters under his breath, posture relaxing for a moment before he doublechecks on the peephole before undoing the locks and latches of the door, allowing for the two uncles to gain entrance. "Come in. Come in." He responds.
Once the pair make their way in and the door is closed, there's another flicker to Nick's form and the magazine. "...Langousines?"
There is no acknowledgement to why the magazine flickered. Nope. Nothing happened there. Carry on.
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer is wearing a shit-eating grin as Nick opens the door and ushers them inside. Looking around the room and giving an appreciative whistle. "I assume this is being afforded by the movie's budget? Surely they're not making you put yourself up on your own dime." He says this and then turns back just in time to see that magazine flicker.
"He was going to hit me with a magazine. Do you see that? Why in the world would you pick a magazine as your weapon of choice?" Asking this, arms folding against his chest. "How's the movie filming going? Any idea how long it's going to take?" This uncle is FULL of questions - curiousity being one reason but underlining things being another.
- Sinister has posed:
"Never underestimate the power of a bop, or a thwack, when delivered by the right individual. There are people that can kill with a pencil. I imagine that if there's a cajun idiot that can make a playing card an annoyance, a rolled up newspaper is the bane of more than just misbehaving hounds..." A grin flits onto Sin's face. "Morning, Nick. And if it's not morning, it is -somewhere-. Lan/gou/stines. My French sometimes leaves a bit to be desired on the accent, when I'm not thinking about it."
Recover that deep breath. It's only the odd couple.
And there's a gesture to the devil. He's quite clearly governed by the need to question at a rate of knots. Take your time.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As Lucifer starts up, Nick blinks. That...is a lot of questions. But considering where the questions lead, the performer runs with it.
"Yes. It is actually one of the lower cost rooms in this hotel but it's in walking distance of set with enough English speaking staff to make it easy on the cast."
Sinister's explanation for the newspaper gets a nod of confirmation. "...Also they're street legal. So no weapons charges. And about a month left with filming here. Barring additional delays."
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer nods. "Sorry for the barrage of questions. Perhaps I should catch you up a bit. Not sure where we left off. But we went and got he who is lovingly called MD3 from the Island...and subsequently destroyed the lab at the island..." He offers this. Though he then glances back to Nathaniel. As he is the one to likely better offer that the Michaels are all likely ready for a visit if Nick wants to mark it in the calendar.
"I think that means we're still just missing the one, and getting a bead on them is hard. Also, we're thinking of using the machine to look into other..uhm..things. Like. Options. Uhm..." Nope. Lucifer loses the plot. "Anyway. Filming is going well?"
- Sinister has posed:
"That was a lot of umming, my darling..." Sin opines, still lacking in the langoustine equasion, for want of a better term for it. He shrugs lightly. "They're regenerated enough to not be in a physically deteriorated condition. So, if you wanted to, you could assess them..." That much offered, he gives Lucifer a long look.
"What Luci is meaning, is that one of your other uncles has that plan. The one that might just involve you -and- them and awareness of them. So, it may be an option to review... potential paths. Recruiting them. Bypassing them. Hiding them. Persuing the source irritation... because it does seem as if there's been one wonderful perpetual motion machine set on like a metronome for us to sidle through." And that was probably a bad metaphor, Sin. He frowns, apparently aware of that. "By which I mean to say, it would be quite nice to know just how much of this is a very clever non-interference chess came by those that may or may not be nominally on our side."
He shrugs. "ANd there's potential evening dinner. Hence the question regarding the prawn variant. Paris is excellent for it's fruits of the sea."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick tilts his head to the side with a shrug in response to the apology given. "Well, it's been a bit longer of a gap since we last spoke so I can understand the questions."
As the conversation switches over to the MDs, Nick gestures to the sitting area in invite to the others should they like to sit. He nods quietly with each point given with a general decision NOT to ask for details to the manner of the lab's destruction. Ignorance is bliss. And it gets you subpoena'd less.
To the mention of there being one left, it's Nick's turn to ask questions.
"I would like to meet them." He agrees, "Counting the missing one, how many total is that? And what's the issue with the missing one?"
He pauses for a moment, glancing in the direction of his backpack, "...I do have a flight later this evening. So maybe an early dinner?"
- Lucifer has posed:
With the succinct explanation from Nathaniel further hyping up what Lucifer was trying to say, the Devil just shrugs. In fact, he's going to leave all the additional questioning to be answered by the one with the better information. He's just here for helping people get around and the food that comes with it.
Speaking of..."Where's the flight to? Back home? Somewhere for more film shooting? How bad would it look if you cancelled your flight because you found other means of transportation a'la Lucifer Airlines. The best way to travel." He beams a smile and then chuckles. "Seriously though. Dinner would be nice to have with you. You could tell us how the movie is coming along, and perhaps how training with that fighter lady has potentially helped?"
- Sinister has posed:
Sometimes, all you have to do is gesture, which is what Sinister now does, to the dapper and far more talkative and impish of the two uncles, with an open palm and a wry smile. After all, what was just said is also of interest to mister tall-dark-and Sinister.
"I'll arrange a taxi, because that's a thing in Paris," he informs, holding up his phone but not typing anything at all. It's one of those things, that fantastic control.
"I imagine that there's at least a hiatus in filming at the moment. Summer in France is punctuated by a plurality of pauses for public vacation time."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick nods to Lucifer's inquiry. Initially, then a shake of the head and an even faster shaking of the head, hands lifting to wave as well in a 'no' gesture.
"As tempting as it might be to avoid a five hour flight, I'm doing the National Anthem for a Fourth of July Park Concert. So, suddenly appearing in the US without going through the whole Airport process would probably raise a few eyebrows and being I'm not exactly Homeland Security's favorite person right now, I'd rather not give them the ammunition to cause any more grief."
He pauses, "But if you want to do a Lucifer taxi to the airport to bypass the traffic after dinner, I wouldn't say no to that."
Nick glances back over to Sinister to the mention of the hiatus. "I'll be back here by Wednesday." He adds in, "Film schedules aren't quite the typical work schedule."
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer blinks and then glances to Nathaniel. "You have at least three in pods right? Plus the one we just got from the island so that's four. Then there's the one still at large that escaped the initial catch at the submarine?" He asks to clarify and make sure he has the count right. Nick asked for it, but neither of the uncles answered directly. "I think the one who escaped managed it with some help, but I don't have all those details. I was too busy...dealing with other things." Like the explosion and killing the doctor.
"I don't mind zipping you to the airport, sure. I can understand wanting to do things the legal and right way." He nods. It's a respectable choice, Nick doing everything by the book and it makes sense. "What part concert?" He asks then.
- Sinister has posed:
"We do have one more. He was very mangled though, so..." And it might not even be a pure clone, that might have been one of the experiments with cross-matching. Either way, what was rescued was... lumpy. And badly in need of repair.
Out the door, down the corridor, a lazy saunter to enable the taxi to the Montparnasse circle, where the cafe in question is just a little shy of the grand station itself.
And oddly, Luci can go shopping in Marks and Spencers afterwards, if he wants to.
"I think we have four of the MD series now. Three rescued, one missing, one that was collected from the island, on the noting of that idiot in Hell."
The sun is shining beautifully, there's a lovely breeze and a very confused taxi driver attempting to get his phone system to get OFF the one call, that won't let go of it. That only relinquishes when his fare are right here and coming -- he looks Algerian, which isn't uncommon in Paris.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"The one in Darlington Park." Nick replies, "It's not a big one but it turns out one of the venue owners we owed an event to was on the committee."
As Sin adds to the numbers, sort of, Nick considers the count as he walks with the duo, "So...five, possibly six in all."
Finding the Taxi already waiting and running, Nick gives a polite but quiet nod to the driver before the trio start filtering in.
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer ah's and nods his head. Then he looks to Nathaniel who finally fills in the rest of the numbers. Good. All of that is settled. "Fair enough. Now. We can focus on more positive things." He says this as they make their way down and pile into the taxi.
"Have you ever considered flying private? I don't mean the way we discussed before but just...chartering a plane so you don't even have to deal with all that TSA nonsense." He asks this, casually enough he thinks, and then crosses one leg over the other. Taxi seems spacious enough.
"So. Song in the park, then right back here. That's a lot of flying and a busy schedule. You'll be due for a decent vacation afterwards I think."
- Sinister has posed:
"And that might be the best time for the reunion. GIve everyone a bit of time to prepare and adjust to the possibilities. Five's kind of watching his brother's... flesh out, I think. Recover, anyway. I gave him video feed from a safe location."
The driver drives without ever being told the destination, but he'd swear the german tourists in the back were absolutely yammering the entire trip there. Just ask his wife, later.
"I think chartering has an eco-knock for Nick, my dear. Although, there are private planes that don't... well... I mean..." yes, he entirely legally controls the strings of a lot of people in the world. TSA is never a problem. For Sin.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Glancing back and forth between Lucifer and Sinister discussing why Nick doesn't fly charter, there appears to be a need to clarify.
"Oh I've flown private from time to time." Nick replies. Hell, that's how he ended up getting Magneto to make a donation to one of his fundraisers. "When it makes sense. For just one or two people it's simpler to just go commercial."
The driver is amazingly not minding the chatter. An aside glance is given to Sinister. HOW CONVENIENT.
"As for vacation... Wade's got some time blocked off for after the film schedule. Also I got a few days off in the schedule for reshoots of the scenes that don't involve my character. I'm thinking maybe scooting off to Dublin for those days."
- Lucifer has posed:
"It was just a question. Especially considering things." Lucifer says this much and then lifts his shoulders in a shrug. "Time to time is good when it's warranted. I can understand the notion to fly commercially." At least, for those who don't really have other means of travel. Though technically Nick does, he just doesn't use it for completely valid ethical reasons.
When Nick mentions Dublin, Lucifer's head tilts to the side. "Going to spend some time with Leo then?" Again, just a question. Also perhaps gauging that bombarding Nick in Dublin would be a good idea or not. Still. "Dinner should be nice." He finally ends his spiel with.
- Sinister has posed:
"And here we are," Sin smiles, craning his gaze out of the window.
And it is. The little bourgoise establishment is right upon the cobblestones of old paris, with black and white striped awnings, a delightful view of the hussle and the bustle and some fantastic deserts as well as other offerings, outside of Seafood. After all, this is Paris, which is in France and the Dinner here is NEVER second best...
But we'll note, there's still a good deal of listening going on for answers, even as Sin goes about collecting attention and deflecting it, as appropriate. Always excellent service when you can do that, of course.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
I've got a bedroom with my name on it whenever I come to visit now." Nick confirms with a nod, giving a smile. "Also, I might drop by to see what Trinity's music program is doing this season."
As Sin indicates they arrived, Nick turns his head to look out the window the doctor's looking out of.
"Ooh. I haven't been here yet." Nick admits. As the car doors open to allow the trio out, Nick lingers on the sidewalk while the others gather. "I'm so glad you two swung by to visit..."
There is likely more to that discussion but as the three make their way in, the doors close behind them.
