Date of Scene: 14 January 2020
Location: Club Evolution, Mutant Town
Synopsis: And Strong Guy is his namo.
Cast of Characters: Cannonball, Strong Guy

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is heading to the club this evening. If he is working tonight he has a late shift. The young man has headed to the bar where he can claim a seat at the end of it, and watch the going on at the club. He has a soda put out for him, foot tapping to the music.

Strong Guy has posed:
A large shadow falls over Sam and, it seems, half the bar.

"Hey there, ya blork," a deep voice booms from behind Sam. It's the voice of Guido 'Strong Guy' Carosella, who towers over the club owner. "I heard you wuz lookin' for some respectable muscle around here. Guess the ladies need somethin' nice to look at near the door."

He grins a wide, toothy grin.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit at the shadow tensing a moment, but at the voice any tension is gone. He turns around and smiles "Guido." He will stand offering the larger man a quick hug "Hey you, what you doing about you back on planet for a while?" he will ask the man smiling.

Strong Guy has posed:
Mid-hug, Guido 'lightly' pats Sam on the back, which might as well be an effort to dislodge any food stuck in the man's windpipe. "Yeah, yeah," he says as the hug breaks, his weight shifting to his back foot.

Guido waves a hand dismissively. "You know how it goes. See new civilizations. Seduce new civilizations. Get run out of new civilizations." He chuckles. "Izzit my fault I exude such animal magnetism?"

"Anyway," he adds, "I figure I need a break for a bit. Take it easy. Consider it the off-season, you know?" Guido looks around. "Unless, o' course, you don't got no need for a reliable door man..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the man and says "Ah can use you, you know ya always got a place here. Heck might even be able to help me train the new bartender a bit. He has seen Road house so there is hope." he jokes a bit. He will take a seat and motion for Guido to have a seat, and there are seats for most all sizes. When you wanting to start, and how many days a week ya want?"

Strong Guy has posed:
"Oh, has he?" Guido asks, eyebrows rising. "Well, maybe between the two of us we can master that throat-rippin'-out move." He folds his arms across his chest. "Just gotta make sure a polar bear don't fall on 'im."

He steps over to a seat that might hold him, testing its durability before he sits softly on it. "I can start whenever. A few nights a week would be nice--gives me a chance to see some old friends, take in the quiet banality of New York..." Guido snorts and laughs. "Ahh, I couldn't even keep a straight face for that."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and nods a bit to him, and says "Will start ya on the schedule, say this Thursday, give ya a quiet night to get a feel for the place. It's all ages and we do some open mic nights to help the local talent get a bit more exposure. Most of the folks working here are of course from around the area. If your looking for an apartment, check out this address" He tells the man a building not to far away "Doug and I got an apartment there, for if either of us don't feel up to heading back to the school after work.

Strong Guy has posed:
"Hey, thanks, man. I appreciate the tip," Guido replies, clapping a massive hand on Sam's shoulder. "I'll definitely check this out--wuz worried for a minute that I'd have to crash on Madrox's couch. Between you 'n me ... you don't want to even be /near/ that thing, let alone makin' contact with it for hours."

He grins again and slicks back the tuft of hair on his head. "So how you doin', Sam? This place looks great. You said you got a place with Doug--not shackin' up with any ladies? I'da thought this place would be catnip ..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles and says "Well sorta, my lady teaches at the school too, but stays at the apartment with me some, Doug's lady does also. Is a bit more comfortable to be cuddled up watching you lady in an apartment you share with a buddy, rather than in front of all your students." He chuckles a bit. "Believe or not am dating another musican... classical though."

Strong Guy has posed:
"No kiddin'...?" Guido asks, lips pursing as he nods. "I'm so usedta trashin' hotel rooms--or somethin' like 'em, dependin' on the planet--that gettin' comfy 'n cozy sounds ab-so-lutely divine right now!" He shouts a laugh, slapping a nearby table hard enough for it to crack.

"Oh. Uh, sorry 'bout that. Any chance of an advance on my first paycheck?" He cringes. "Won't happen again."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles and says "Well considering Ah think Ah know where you would be if you skipped planet I can set you up. Luckily when Ah set up the proposal for the place to Berto, Ah made sure to put in a decent repair budget. Figure out here we don't know if all who come in will know how to control their abilities. Ah know you once you have a feeling on what things can take your good."

Strong Guy has posed:
"Sammy boy," Guido says with a satisfied sigh, "this sounds like it's the beginnin' of a beautiful relationship." He adjusts his glasses and looks around. "So this is what it's like to run yer own show, eh? Maybe I oughta do that myself some day ..."

He thinks for a moment. "Ahh, nahh. Couldn't take all the paperwork."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles and says "Yea there is a decent amount of paperwork can't deny that, but got X-corp's accountants to handle the books and such, Ah just have to keep an eye on them know how much we are making and from that what I can afford to spend. Place is nice, though can come in and have drinks or something to munch, dance when I want to. Hoping next time Lila is through can get her to do a set here.

Strong Guy has posed:
"Oh, yeah, for sure," Guido replies, grinning before he clears his throat. "Not, uh, that I heard her say anything like that. I just know she would. Cuz I know her so well. I mean, you do too. But not in the same way. I don't know her in the same way, that is. I, uh--"

He clears his throat again, feigning a cough. "Howzabout a little water?" he calls out hoarsely. "I'm chokin' over here!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles and motions the tender over to make sure Guido gets his drink. "I will have to introduce ya to Alexis sometime, she knows about Lila, heck even laughed at the leather outfit Lila got me." He chuckles a bit more, and "I pretty much have told her everything, but then again you know me never good at hiding stuff.

Strong Guy has posed:
Stifling his cough with a balled fist, grinning, Guido nods. "Yeah--*hrmmk*--I bet. I'd ask--*crghh*--if you showed her ... ahem ... the outfit for 'fun', but--*kaff*--I honestly just ... don't ... want to know."

Guido shakes his head and accepts a glass of water delivered his way by an attentive waitstaff. Chugging it, he gives a thumbs-up.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Will give you a heads up the guy Ah want you to help if he needs it is Hercules " He watches the other man's reaction and nods ya "The real guy, member of the Avengers and such. Gave him a few rules on the clock, no drinking, nothing beyond a little flirting with the ladies on the clock, and if something has to be a fight take it outside."

Strong Guy has posed:
"Herc-a-leez, Herc-a-leez?" Guido asks, miming clapping his hands together. "Fer real?" He blinks and then shrugs. "Yeah, sure. Whatever you say, Sam. I gotta know--he fittin' in okay here in Mutant Town? Or does he get the ol' stink-eye from types who want the normie-types to stay outta the 'hood?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well Ah don't think many will think of him as normal. He seems decent so far, he is wanting to fit more in society and figured job and apartment and such should help. He pulls out a tablet, and brings up some pictures a winger girl first "This is Shannon, busses tables, is one of the students at the school. Sweet kid." He shows another picture "This is Sam, another student goes by Bean a lot to avoid confusion. He works on the electronics here for me, occasionally helps with security. He is young but had a rather.... unique up bringing.""

Strong Guy has posed:
"Ya don't say," Guido replies, nodding as he examines the pictures. "Frankly, I'd be worried about any mutant who claims they /did/ have a normal, boring childhood. Sometimes I feel like--even more than the mutant powers--it's the unique upbringing that connects us together. Ya know?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smirks a bit and says "Hey what;s weird about having 9 brothers and sisters and going to work in a mine when your 16. Then joining a secret hero team, and dating an intergalactic rock star?" He chuckles a bit and can't keep a straight face.

Strong Guy has posed:
"Yer tellin' me," Guido says, sipping at the bit of water left in his glass. "But, regardless, I 'ppreciate the help. It'll get me back on my feet 'n let me feel ... well, human again." He smiles at Sam. "Yer a good pal, Sam."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks at the other and says "As many bars as you had my back in that we weren't even close to the same species as, Ah do believe Ah owe ya brother." he chuckles a bit and says "So, what other plans ya got?

Strong Guy has posed:
"Oh, you know," Guido says with a smirk. "A little bit o' this. A little bit o' that. And a whole, whole lot of nothin' at all." He scratches behind his ear. "And if, in the process of doin' nothin', I manage to convince a few super-models to take a ride on the ol' Carosella carousel, well, who'm I to pass up a good time?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Well you know you can hang out here and might meet some we have a pretty good turn out most times. If your looking into getting into anything more interesting let me know, will try to keep you in the loop on things.

Strong Guy has posed:
"Sounds good ta me. You got any acts comin' in tonight? Maybe I oughta just post up here fer a bit an' see what the scene's like." Guido chuckles. "O' course, I'd just be takin' up a seat fer a payin' customer, but I won't complain if you don't." He grins again. "This feels good, Sam. I'm lookin' forward to the work. Feels weird ta say, but's true."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and will name a couple of the local bands "We got both of them coming in, with about an hour Dj time between the two to let them set up. Will admit when I first took over, had hopped you were not on tour then to be head of security.

Strong Guy has posed:
With a nod, Guido shifts slightly in his chair. "I can understand that. Who don't want quality? But at least it's better late than never." He begins flipping through messages on his phone for a moment before stopping. "Wait. Sam. Please tell me you don't just let anybody DJ. Cuz if I gotta listen to Shatterstar play whatever junk he calls music for an hour ... I'mma Hulk out."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Na, they gotta have some abilities, now on karaoke night, but generally a two song limit per hour so not to get to bad." He grins a bit at this.

Strong Guy has posed:
"Alright, alright, cool." Guido holds up his empty glass to flag another staff member for a refill. "Well, I guess I'll get settled in, then, 'n see how things go. You gonna be out and about on the floor tonight, or do I need to visit the big boss office if I need ta find ya?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Ah'm gonna hang out here for a bit, Ah enjoy hangout out here amongst the people unless Ah am needing it to be quieter to do some work or hear something."

Strong Guy has posed:
Guido nods and downs his refreshed drink. "Sounds like a plan, my man. You do you. I'm gonna wander the place, check it out, get comfy with it. Puttin' it on like a Mr. Rogers sweater, ya know?" He sets his glass down on the cracked table. "Can't wait to see what this place is like when it opens on up." Guido stands, stretches, and looks around.
