Magic and Mead
Date of Scene: 01 April 2020
Location: Club Mjolnir, Hell's Kitchen
Synopsis: Morgana makes the mistake of stepping into Club Mjolnir while wearing a crown. She gets to meet the owner, Elle.
Cast of Characters: Hela, Morgana le Fay

Hela has posed:
The way Elle looks, sitting by her lonesome at one of the long tables, would indicate her as possibly being goth in sensibilities. Her jarring makeup, her intense gaze, the black brocade strap jacket, the sheer black top with Norse runes embrodiment, and nevermind the black feathery cuffs.

But those who followed the media attention to Elle during the Black Sleep, or perhaps those who can sense magical prowess, would know there was something more to her. Elle, naturally, is decked in a whole array of necklaces and rings, one of which is finger length and carries a talon tip.

Morgana le Fay has posed:
Morgana's here, a magic seeking Arthurian missile in robes and with a crown. Morgana's brought her crown today...

Looking over the club, Morgana watches her surroundings, seeking the magic that's drawn her here. Oh she's drawn to power. She's absolutely drawn to power and Hela is amazingly powerful. Morgana is too, but....but...

The Queen of Avalon, well, she's the smaller fish currently so to speak and that's not a situation she's used to. Even so, Morgana sits at the table and watches Hela out the corner of her eye.

Hela has posed:
Elle looks directly at Morgana, the woman who walks into her club whilst wearing a crown, something that gets Elle to point at an empty wooden makeshift throne at the far end of the room. "There is only one who may wear a crown in this hall, please respect the place, and remove yours while you visit..." whatever significance the crown holds for Morgana, it seems the proprietess has her own interpertations, and she doesn't seem too happy.

Morgana le Fay has posed:
Morgana gives El a look and her crown vanishes. It's safe in Avalon, but....that doesn't help Morgana's mood any. "And who are you to tell me what I can and cannot wear inn this city?" she asks. Oh, Morgana's got her cold hard cruel face on. If Hela came to Avalon, Morgana would make her remove a crown,true....but Morgana's got her mask, so to speak, pulled down. She sees this place as a human place. Even if the woman that spoke is a beacon of magic....which gets Morgana interested.

Interested enough to move up a few seats and stay quiet however.

Hela has posed:
"Mind you, you are not in this city, you are in Club Mjolnir," Elle motions at the place fashioned like a Jarl's Great Hall, with a perfect Mjolnir replica held proudly on display atop the bar. "I happen to be the proprietess, so in here, what I say goes..." Elle offers in simple logic. A surprisingly amicable smile on her lips. "I am Elle Quinn, mostly known as Miracle Elle for my work during the Black Sleep, and this is my club meant to raise awareness and educate about Viking culture," motioning with a sweeping motion for the bar, Elle offers, "try a drinking horn or tankard of mead, you will love it."

Morgana le Fay has posed:
Morgana raises her eyes to meet Elle's gaze. "Correct. I am in this club. But this club is therefore in the city" she se says using her own simple logic. "A viking club? That's ancient history to some people. So are tales and legends but they walk among us" she nods. She's one of them. Yes. She's that Morgana le Fey. Dangerous, cold, evil. Ask Merlin....no....wait....

Morgana nods. "Elle. My name is Morgana" she says with a pleasant tone to her voice, one that suggests beneath the mask, Morgana recognizes power.

Hela has posed:
Elle's lips shift into a rather ominous smile as Morgana continues to argue the geolocation of the very club she speaks of, "are you quite sure of that?" She muses, and much like Morgana recognizes there's more to Elle, so does Elle recognizes there's more to Morgana. Not that it's hard to do with her mannerism, but Elle realizes there's more than just boasting and arrogance at hand. "Named after the Morrigan...?" Elle has to wonder, after all, one likes to know how colleagues are faring.

Morgana le Fay has posed:
Yes. Morgana is arguing the geolocation. "We're not in a different dimension, and I stepped in here from New York City. So unless you did some insanely powerful and complex magic...we're in a club, in New York City" Morgana says and looksfirm in her beliefs. Well she just outed herself as knowing powerful magic.

"Named after the Morrigan? Maybe. Or, maybe she was named after me" Morgana says. Magic's on the table. The gloves are off now.

Hela has posed:
"Are we not...?" Elle apparently isn't that willing to accept what Morgana suggests, and yet something in her visage, suggests she's absolutely serious with her question. "You are correct about stepping in here from New York, at least, I'll grant that much." She tilts her head a bit, and then asks a simple question, "ever heard of the Norns?"

Elle can't help but laugh at that last part, shaking her head, "you are quite fortunate she will not set foot in this place, because that is a mighty arrogant claim, you are a great many things, Morgana...but I don't sense that you are of divine progeny."

Morgana le Fay has posed:
"Wait. Norn stones?" Morgana asks. She's playing dumb. "Norn. As in, stones that hold power? I've heard of them

Morgana's lying through her teeth. Oh,anyone who does their research on Morgana....they'd know /exavtly/ what she did with the stones. One of a number of plans. She looks innocently to Elle. "But I've not handled Norn stones. I don't even know where I'd run across one"

Nice try, Morgana. Nice try...

Hela has posed:
"I only asked of Norns," Elle remarks, smirking at Morgana, "you've dabbled with some mighty powerful artifacts. I see where your ego comes from, but still, it would be wise to not reveal your hand to just any ol' person." There's amusement in her tone of voice. If anything, Elle at least has given away she's no mere business owner, seeing she even knows about Norn stones existing in the first place.

Morgana le Fay has posed:
"And you'd do well to heed your own words. See. If, let's say if I wanted to find a Norn stone. Where woudl I look?" she asks. "Hypothetically speaking, that is" she adds quickly and looks over to Elle. "Powerful artifacts? They're just stones. what's so powerful about them?" she asks. She's right back to not revealing her hand, and playing dumb. Again.

Hela has posed:
"How should I know...?" Elle asks of Morgana, looking quite amused as she tries to flip her own words on her. It's rather hard hiding your card after you've already revealed them. "Why walk around in a crown...?" She goes about it the politest way possible. But the message is likely just as clear.

Morgana le Fay has posed:
Morgana's trying, though. "Because I like it?" she counters. "Why go to all the trouble of the Viking, and Norse theme here? Same question" Morgana counters. She's genuinely curious really. Morgana is, honestly, Goddesss above, wanting to know what's up with the decor. Because that's one thing that's been puzzling her since she wawlked in.

Hela has posed:
"Like is never part of the equation when crowns are on the line," Elle muses, without pressing further. "It is my heritage, and I wish to share more truthful facts about it, as opposed to fantastic lies spread in movies and tv shows. We've been very successful since opening, and even had a tremendous Jarl For A Day event, featuring bid winner, Barbara Gordon."
