It's Christmas time in the city.
Date of Scene: 17 December 2020
Location: Greenwich Village, Manhattan
Synopsis: And Presents are bought and decided on.
Cast of Characters: Cannonball, Nightingale, Rage

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie planned a day out Christmas shopping and since he has already picked up something for Shannon and Andrea, or plans on later, he offered both of them a chance to come along for the day. HE made sure both knew the other would be there, and planned the first stop in Greenwich checking out the artist and hand made things.

Nightingale has posed:
To say the past few days had been eventful would be an understatement. Something normal like Christmas shopping? Heck, yeah! Shannon bundles up in her dove grey turtleneck sweater, dark blue jeans, her favorite calf-length caramel suede boots, and a dove grey beanie hat with a floofy pom-pom on top. As always, she has her little brown leather bag with her, bedecked in its runes. Her little ice blue braid is in full evidence by the left side of her face. Instead of the normal three plain silver beads, however, there are beads in an arrangement that looks like a little snowman with a jet-black top hat on!

Sam gets a massive hug, wings and all, and a smile. "Missed ya," she says. "Thanks for asking me to tag along."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hugs Shannon back, and says "Well I thought you could use a bit of time away from the mansion, and know ya plan on making presents, but figured having you and Andrea about helps me figure out presents for the girls as they are getting older so can't just get the current doll, or horse thing." He offers with a smile "And you might find some things you want to pick up."

Nightingale has posed:
"I'm almost afraid to poke my nose outside the mansion these days," Shannon replies, tucking a stray wisp of pale gold away under her beanie cap. "But if I'm not safe with you, then who would I be safe with?" She can't help a smile at mention of the girls, chuckling softly. They were precious, really, and their time visiting the school last Thanksgiving was not something she would forget anytime soon. "Will the family be visiting us again anytime soon? It really was a lot of fun seeing them, and I kind of miss them, too."

There were plenty of beautiful handmade items, whether edible, wearable, or decor. "Oh, that reminds me, I've got to get yours and Alexis' present to you pretty soon here. And... hell, I've no idea what to get some people." By the blush on her face, one can only wonder if it's the chill in the air, or if someone in particular is meant....

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well my first time Christmas shopping in New York, ended up meeting Spider-man, and fought a giant electrical monster. Trying to fight a super villain and holding onto a hat for mom it was not helping." He offers with a smile and says "I've got a few presents but want to get some things to add to some of them." He hmms at the blush raising a brow but lets het decide if she wants to say more.

Nightingale has posed:
Scratching the back of her head, Shannon just grins a little sheepishly. "Well, I don't know where things are going with him, but at least Jer's winding up a pretty good friend. And I'm lousy at buying things for guys. He's... a hard one to pin down when it comes to Christmas shopping." She shrugs a little and chuckles, her eyebrows lofting at the tale of Sam's first Christmas shopping run. "Ha. That's pretty wild. Did the hat at least make it to your mom okay?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head and says "Yea, almost lost it a few times, but yea, got it to ma and she seemed to like it." He says about the hat. "He is one I am considering as well, thought about maybe hitting a thrift shop or flea markets look for old electronic stuff.

Rage has posed:
The sight of Andrea's Tesla X can be seen coming down the street, then finding it's way into a parking spot. Once the electric call shuts off with a push of a button, the suicide door lifts upwards and she pops out. Dressed in a heavy sweater with a snowball on it and a pair of black jeans, she looks rather 'normal' instead of her usual stand out wardrobe that she tends to dress in. Her hair is pulled back into a pony tail as well to keep out of her face and stuffed under a gray beanie.

As she spies the pair, she lifts her hand upwards and grins. "Hi!" She calls over, sliding her sunglasses off and tucks them into her back pocket, then reshoulders her purse. "Sorry for being a bit late. Traffic was garbage. You know how it is when it snows."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon opens her mouth to reply, but just at that moment, Andrea arrives in that pretty slick Tesla X. The rather toned-down look catches her by surprise--especially the beanie. She bursts out laughing going over for a hug. "You sure you didn't sneak into the mansion and raid my closet?" she teases. "I swear, great minds think alike... we have the same hat!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will offer Andrea a hug as she gets near and says "Hey there, glad you could join us." He will tell her "So where should we start either of you got any specific ideas?"

Rage has posed:
Returning the hug to Sam and Shannon, Andrea gives him a grin, then glances upwars at her beanie. "I think this is Jay's. I snagged it off the coathook on the way out. I washed my hair, but I didn't feel like doing anything with it, so I just stuck it under here and made it work with the sweater. If he texts me later complaining I stole it, I'll let you know."

At the question of where to start, she shrugs her shoulders. "Up to you! I have most of my shopping done but I just want to snag a few things for stocking stuffers for some of the staffers at Xavier's. I'm just along for the ride and the company. I've missed you guys."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles at talk of stocking stuffers. "I was going to get Miss Grey one of those assorted tea chests, and bake her some of those macarons she likes. Not quite sure what to get Mr. Summers, he's a tough one to figure out. Made a nice lap quilt for the Professor... it really took a while." Slipping her phone from her little brown bag, she swipes through the pictures, till she comes to one of a quilt in shades of blue and gold, with rippling, wavy patterns that almost look like flames. "Not even sure if some of the teachers /have/ Christmas stockings, so I could sew a few of those in short order if you need, Andrea."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and will lead them over towards a shop that has pottery and nick knacks "Well we can check in here." He looks at the toboggan and says "Well it don't look like one Grandma Guthrie made, so he probably has a couple more stashed somewhere." He jokes a bit, and nods his head a bit "You could get him some car wax, or maybe a new case for his pool stick."

Rage has posed:
"That is super cute. I bet the Professor will love it. He always likes a good knee warmer." Andrea grins at the picture. "I don't know if they have stockings either. I was going to just dump a bunch of gifts on Miss Grey's lap and let her sort it out. I have our studio filled with packages right now. It's getting kinda like Jenga in there. Jay and I already mailed presents out to your family, Sam. Ma knows they're coming. Jay and I was thinking of flying back there the day after Christmas to do dinner with the family. If you two want to come, I can snag you tickets for our flight. First class to Kentucky can be fun."

Nightingale has posed:
"No kidding!" Shannon just grins at the prospect of visiting the family again, her wings flaring out behind her with glee. "Well, crap, I'd better figure out what to bring down for presents, then! Sam, if you can get me your mom's clothing sizes, I can sew something up for her real quick, and maybe some edible gifts all around, too. If I can rope a few people into it, I could get a marathon cookie baking session going, and cover a lot of presents that way..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Thinking about it will see what Alexis thinks, might be heading over to see her grandparents for a weekend soon to for christmas, but thats a bit of a bigger trip. Ah am sure first class might be warmer than air Guthrie." He says with a grin.

Rage has posed:
"Yeah, I've flown Air Guthrie before. It's freezing. But having Jay carry me around princess style is kinda cute though." Andrea says as she follows after them into the first round of stores. "We're working with his old band on some musical material. So is Dazzler. She just put out that single with his band a few weeks ago and it's charting really well on the CMA side. It's really cool they're getting that kinda exposure now."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon bursts out laughing and nods. "Yeah, the Cannonball Express is pretty chilly but awesome at the same time." Poking about the pottery shop, she finds a hand-thrown, glazed mug that's of a pretty good size, in a stunning shade of red very close to Jean's hair. "OH... I could tuck the packets of tea away into that for presentation, and set it in the middle of a plate of those macarons miss Grey likes!"

Smiling at them both as she purchases the mug, she listens for a moment to the talk of music and bands. "Did Andrea tell you about the whole popstar bootcamp thing...? It's crazy but it's actually turning out to be a lot of fun. And she wasn't kidding when she said her trainer would make you cry. Or at least try to. But I haven't cried yet."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "I was there hearing a bit about it, but I figured your other training might help, but sure there are some differences, and probably will help balcance, and stamina some with it." He tells Shannon to Andrea he nods a bit and says "I need to get some of the bands playing the club a bit more exposure too."

Rage has posed:
"You cry on the inside when your pride doesn't let you show your tears." Andrea calls out as she picks through a few items curiously, scrunching her nose up. Pottery doesn't seem to be her cup of tea for gift ideas. Though she does snag up a coffee mug with a rooster on it, already quietly cackling to herself.

"I did offer to fly the whole band out to play for the Club. They're really excited by it. Just need to find a good spot of time for them to all fly out together that doesn't interfere with their jobs and schooling."

Nightingale has posed:
"My other training helps with the bootcamp, and the bootcamp in its own way kind of helps with the other training. There's stuff that can be applied both ways." Shannon nods firmly as if to settle that question right then and there. "Oh, speaking of, what's the timeline on working on that new song? I'm actually pretty psyched by it." She grins at Sam, nudging him gently. "Might even actually talk me into singing it at the club, if... no, /when/ it works out."

The mug with a rooster gets Shannon to grinning too, and she nudges Andrea. "Okay, so... you seem to have a handle on the whole boys thing. What's a good thing I could get for a boy that's not too cheesy or over the top?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will look through the vases, and picks up a pamplet looking over something and hmms. He will fold the pamplet up and put in his back pocket "Hey guys, I am going to stick around here for a moment, and talk about a custom piece, I will catch up with ya in a few ok?"

Rage has posed:
"That depends on what kinda guy he is." Andrea says as she gives a grin. "I'm only getting this to make Jay roll his eyes at me. It's cheesy. I doubt he'll even use it. I got him a whole rooster collection of stuff at this point." Giving a long stretch, she pops her joints a bit. "You got like a week left of camp, and then I think you're gonna work with the production team. They'll email you a schedule. You can work with them on your availability."

Nightingale has posed:
"Tech-y, a little on the nerdy Goth side, but utterly brilliant and really sweet in his way. Kinda has a naivete about him, and yet at the same time, not. And he's got his real sweet moments, too." The talk of cheesy gifts makes Shannon giggle, and she nods, thinking. "Ha. I saw a shirt once that showed a chart, and it said 'Your TAN line is showing'. He might get a kick out of that if I could ever find it again."

Talk of bootcamp and the upcoming production of the song has her smiling, and she bobs her head. "That'll be great. Beginning of the year, it'll be perfectly timed, right before classes pick up too much again."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie sets up a time for the next day to come in to get the custom present he has thought of started. He makes a down payment after choosing colors materials and such. He will jog to catch up with the other two. He did seem to pick something up in there as well, as he has a bag.

Rage has posed:
"So, this boy is a nerdy tech guy who's also a Goth? Get him a Hot Topic gift card." Andrea says with a snicker as she continues to pick through the items curiously on the shelves. "Maybe a laptop bag? Or .. reserve a night at an escape room and do something like that? Jay and I did one once. It's fun. About thirty minutes of solving puzzles using technology and mundane clues. I'd do it again."

"I'm pretty excited to get to work on that song and see what we can do with it. I hope you liked the boot camp though. Even if it really wasn't necessary for you on this track. I just wanted to give you an experience."

Nightingale has posed:
"Actually, the boot camp was a lot of fun, even with your trainer screaming at me. Wasn't any worse than some of those parkour courses we do in the DR sometimes." Shannon chuckles, the gears in her head turning at the talk of escape rooms. "Hmm. Maybe I'll have to have a talk with Mr. Summers. And that Hot Topic gift card sounds like a good idea, at least this year. It'll be interesting to see what the gentleman in question picks out with it."

Glancing over at Sam, she grins, all giggles as if it were Christmas already. "So, what are the odds of being able to sew something up for your mom on the quick, or should I stick with a marathon baking session and bring down a massive box of cookies and stuff?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shrugs a bit and says "Well you know how long it takes to sew something together better than I would." He looks over to Andre, and says "You aint got Jay a watch by any chance have you? I got one of Pa's old ones cleaned and repaired to give to him."

Rage has posed:
"I didn't get Jay a watch. I got him an autographed Eric Clapton guitar. It's a red Fender Telecaster. Original from the seventies. Cost me way too much, but I know he'll love it since he's a fan. I had a friend who had it in storage and I begged him for it. I mean begged. Hands and knees begged. Honestly he gave me a deal on it, but it was expensive."

Andrea takes the rooster mug up to the counter to pay for it. "Gift cards are great gifts. That way no one has to fake being happy with it if they don't like it. I've had my share of gifts where I was like Eeeee thaaaaanks .... mom..." She says with a soft laugh.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon gigglesnorts softly as she looks over at Andrea. "You? On hands and knees, begging? As if! Seriously though, wow. Just... wow. That's got to be one sweet guitar to make it worth all that." She just smiles over at Sam, leaning in for a one-armed, one-winged hug. "I'm still happy with the one SOMEONE insisted on spoiling me with last year. No names mentioned, of course..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shrugs a bit and smiles "No clue." He offers and to Andrea says "So I should not have gotten you the new combat boots your mom suggested I buy you?" He is obviously joking with her. "So watch shop next?"

Rage has posed:
"I already have a pair of those. Mom beat you to it." Andrea grins to Sam as she nods her head, giving a motion with her hand. "Sure, watch shop next. Maybe I'll find something I'll like. I haven't wore one since I was a kid. I fell in love with a happy meal watch once from some movie. Was plastic and broke a few times, but my dad would always fix it up."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon chuckles, and ruffles her wings lightly. "Haven't worn a watch since I lost my favorite red one as a kid. It was on a trip to New Orleans with them when I was nine. Fire engine red, plastic, digital watch. Left it in the hotel room by mistake one morning on the trip, and it was gone by the time we got back."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "This is a pocket watch, could not really wear a wrist watch in the minds well, to much stuff falling frit small rocks and such when mining, just not good for the life of a watch out in the open.

Rage has posed:
"So you are going to get Jay a pocket watch? That is cool. I think he'll like it. It'll go along with one of his really nice suits for adult nights out in the city. Like for a Broadway show." Andrea says as she continues on with the pair of them. "I haven't been to one of those in awhile myself. You could probably find that same watch online. The one that you lost. I found my happy meal watch and picked up two of them a few years ago from eBay."

Nightingale has posed:
Laughing, Shannon just shakes her head, following along with the other two as they browse through some of the shops. "Wouldn't that be wild? I mean, it was pretty simple and generic-looking. But it was a gift from my folks when I was real little, so it was disappointing to lose." Looking at Sam, she tilts her head a bit to one side. "If you can find out some of your mom's sizes without tipping her off within the next day, I might be able to sew her something. Otherwise, it's all hands on deck in the kitchen all around."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shrugs a bit and says "Well I know her hat size, and pretty sure she wears a " He names his mom's dress size "For more than that might want to call Paige or Melody." He offers. He looks over to Andrea and says "The watch is from Ma and me, Ma oked it, I am getting it cleaned and repaired." He tells her. "Still need to find the right thing for you two.

Rage has posed:
"You don't have to get me anything. I already told Jay he just needs to show up naked with a guitar and sing to me on Christmas morning. Then he can unwrap me later." Andrea sing songs coyly as she flashes them both a wild grin, practically strutting. "I also got him rooster boxer briefs, again. I have like five for major holidays. Valentines. Birthday. Christmas. Labor day. Thanksgiving."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon turns flame red clear to the tips of her ears, facepalming. Her wings furl around in front of her like a cocoon, and she giggles. "You're awful, Andrea!" To Sam, she just shakes her head and smiles. "You don't have to get anything for me. It's just nice that you two actually want me along on the trip this time. Just being needed and wanted is more than enough."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "I am going to get you both something and no I don't think I want to have anything to do with Jay's gift to you." He teases a bit "Hot an idea but will have to look into them."

Rage has posed:
"You sure, Sammy? I wouldn't mind if you showed up naked with a guitar too. Would make Christmas pretty spicy." Andrea laughs over her shoulder to the pair of them, practically strutting down the sidewalk in her usual saunter. "I got you both something also. I hope you'll like it. If not, at least pretend to so my feelings don't get all boo boo'd."

Nightingale has posed:
"Oh, it'd get spicy the minute Alexis got wind of it. You'd both probably be running for the hills." Shannon snickers softly, shaking her head. "And I'd have no sympathy for either of you getting yourselves in hot water on that one." Smiling, she leans over to hug Andrea and Sam. "Whatever you got will be perfect. Already told you, just glad you both want me along. This is going to be an awesome Christmas."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to them and shakes his head blushing abit "Na, I only play guitar for Alexis." He offers with a smile

Rage has posed:
"You don't know Alexis like I do." Andrea cackles to herself as she continues her confident strut down the sidewalk. "Let's just say we've had plenty of girl talk about what ifs and maybes if we had too much to drank." She drawls out, tipping a wink to Sam. "Just a shame you Guthrie boys are all straight and narrow. Else we'd give you a taste of Hollywood." She just looks so smug. "But, yes, it's going to be an awesome Christmas. I like Kentucky. It's a neat place and not as red necky as I thought it'd be."
