Christmas at the Club

Synopsis:	A few friends have a Christmas gathering at club Evo.

Pixie has posed:
It's not quite Christmas yet, but Club Evo is already looking festive, with cheerful Christmas music playing (and lots of karaoke), flashy green and red lights, a Christmas tree and lots of mistletoe! Megan had invited Conner and Illy to hang out with her so she can exchange gifts, enjoy so,e great music and food. Oh and dress up!

Today she is wearing a sparkly red mini skater dress that flares out at the hips, lined with white fur at the collar, and red ankle boots with white matching fur at the cuffs too. As the music pats she swirls and dances though she has reserved a table nearby.

Superboy has posed:
Conner has been doing some travelling lately, taking advantage of the winter break, but of course he plans to spend Christmas Day and New Year with Megan. He even has found presents for her. Contrarily than for Kal-El. Presents for Superman are always a headache!

Evo doing a Christmas Carols karaoke is close to a war crime, in his opinion, but at least Megan is having a good time. He is getting drinks by the bar while keeping an eye on the pink-haired girl.

Magik has posed:
    When most of your year is spent in the nightmare realm that most of Illyana's year has been, things like the holidays really have their impacts. Illyana can't say she was necessarily looking forward to Christmas this year. But it's loomed over things (in a mildly good way) as the end of the year approached. She's not particularly prepared for it. But she was at least willing to indulge in pre-holiday festivities and so she's arrived at Club Evo, quietly, easing herself into things, immediately looking for Pixie (who invited her in the first place) before she does anything else.

Rage has posed:
The doors open to reveal the familiar face of Andrea Jackson who strides inside with a bright smile on her face. She is happy to see the club decked out in holiday festivities. Dressed in a stunning shimmering green dress with her hair pulled up into a bit of a styled manner. The popstar and mutant activist gives a wave to the bar tenders as she passes, heading for the VIP section that tends to be roped off unless they get a special guest. As usual when she hits the city for a night of dancing, she sneaks a call into Sam to reserve the access.

Sliding into her spot at the table, she passes on a grin to the waitress to put in for an order of appetizers and some drinks of the non-alcoholic type. After securing her purse, she slips her phone out and taps along the screen a few times, followed by a couple of selfies to upload to her socials, complete with hashtags.

She is also known for promoting Club Evo when she is out to drive traffic.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn dances and twirls and spins, in rhythm to the upbeat and jazzy version of let it snow, her knee length swim dress spinning g around as she does. It's not Christmas but may as well be!

Its only when the song finishes that Megan spies her friends, smiling and waving them over to join her at a nearby booth that she had reserved for the night. Megan has already ordered some nachos with extra cheese and hot choco.

On her way here she spies an Andrea and grins, coming over, "Hiii Andrea! You look amazing today! Hiwve you been?"

Superboy has posed:
Conner didn't know about the chocolate or he wouldn't have bothered with more alcoholic drinks. But hey, they can have everything, right? He waves at Andrea when he spots her, pointing to the reserved booth. "Come here, Megs," he calls. "We gotta make plans for Christmas!"

Magik has posed:
    Illyana finds herself making her way through the crowd to the booth (and to the people she was there to meet). She's smiling a bit more than she's used to. Maybe it's the season. But as she spots and Megan and then Conner, seeing them gives her a warm feeling. Maybe not a full feeling of happiness. But close enough. As she reaches the booth, she greets the pair, "Merry Christmas." She offers Andrea a polite nod also, not knowing her, but assuming she's part of whatever gettogether Megan's arranged here.

Rage has posed:
Giving a wide grin to her best friend, Andrea lifts her hand up. "Hey Megan! You guys can all join me in the VIP if you want. I have the section to myself since Jay will be working tonight. I'm mostly just doing socials and not singing for a change."

Her brows lift up at the sight of Conner, then tracks her eyes back towards Megan with a smirk. "Unless you're on a date of course. I can always just do my thing." Lifting her hand, she returns the gesture back to Illyana as well.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and nods, waving the others over. "Thanks! This vip place is sooo cool! lemme grab the drinks and food!" and she skips off to the other table to grab all the stuff, precariously balancing it all along with gifts.

Its only later that she realizes she could have just ported it all over, "Anyways, dig in! oooh and I have small gifts for you two!" she hands Conner and Illy gifts. Andrea had received Ed her gift a few days ago. "Enjoy!"

Superboy has posed:
Conner was going to say it was not necessary to move, since they were all set and the booth was good for six. But Megan... sheesh. "Let me help, you silly... couldn't you just teleport it? It is one of the good things of being in Evo."

Off they go to the other table. "Are you going to sing, Megs? Because I am going to pass on the Carols. I'll be... taking pictures or something." It is too early for presents! He shakes his head and unwraps Megan's.

Magik has posed:
    Illyana looks momentarily uncomfortable when Megan offers her a gift. "Oh. You shouldn't have..." Part of that has to do with her not having gotten a gift for Megan. Well, not yet anyway. Though it mostly has to do with her not having planned for a gift for Megan. She didn't think that they were close enough 'friends' for a gift exchange. "... but thank you", she offers on a quick recovery. She holds the gift for a long moment before setting it down on the bench at the booth. She's definitely not going to be opening it now. She raises an eyebrow at Conner as he suggests teleporting the gifts, actually looking to Pixie for her reaction. Using magic for something so trivial seems crazy. Particularly with Megan being so concerned about the hole in her soul and the magic being tied to it.

Nightingale has posed:
     Holiday break didn't always mean taking a break for some. However, in this case, one particular winged teen had been told, in no uncertain terms, to take a few hours to simply enjoy herself. So it is that Shannon slips into Club Evolution to lose herself amongst the crowd. Shannon slips into the club without fanfare, dressed in bold green and white stripe leggings, a classic 'ugly' Christmas sweater in cranberry red with a tree and flashing lights on the front, calf-length soft black boots, and a Santa hat. A familiar table near the stage seems to be her normal haunt, and this is where she perches her posterior, to simply enjoy the music and the ambience.

     Yes, life was good.

Rage has posed:
Once the others join her, Andrea gives a smile and motions over to the waitress. "I'm taking the entire tab. Please and thank you. You guys can order whatever you want, don't worry about it." She leans over to give Megan a quick hug once she is free to do so. "I hope you guys are having a good night. Jay is in the back doing dishes or something, so I'm mostly waiting for him to get some free time so he can take me dancing for a few songs. I couldn't stay home by myself on a Sunday. It's so boring."

"Though I may drag one of you guys out to dance with in the meantime. Megan, does Conner steps on feet or does he have any rhythm?" She drawls out in a teasing tone as her brows lift upwards. As her eyes track Shannon from her vantage point in the VIP, she takes her phone out to send her a text and their location in the form of an invite.

"Hey Illy. Got holiday plans this year?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles, playfully elbowing Conner, "Yeaah, I really could have, but you know, the VIP booth is waaay cooler than the regular booths. And we wouldn't get to sit here otherwise!" when he does unwrap his gift, he will discover it's a CD of Andrea's latest album, plus a promotional poster. She's not actually sure if he is a fan of Andrea'a like she is, but it doesn't hurt to try something new either!

Once all the food is moved over, Megan reaches thirsty for a cup of peppermint hot chocolate, a Christmas special. "Mmmm I looove these! Go on try them!"

She chuckles at Illy's reaction and shrugs, "Well you know, at the very least you're kinda like a mentor, plus you DID promise to teach me some new spells soon sooo, consider us even. Go on, open it!"

She beams at Andrea and giggles, "He's a good dancer when he wants to be!" and finally Megs spots a Shannon and smiles and waves to her.

Superboy has posed:
Conner likes all kinds of music, so the present is good! He sips alternatively from the chocolate mug and grins at Andrea. "Hey, I am super, didn't you know? I am definitely taking Megs somewhere cool a couple days. Maybe Hawaii."

It depends if he can borrow a place that he knows. "If I don't pamper her enough she runs amok and gets into trouble, you see?"

Magik has posed:
    Illyana doesnt exactly feel comfortable with Megan's explanation of the gift. And she definitely isn't comfortable with the gift itself. "Don't you usually wait until Christmas before opening gifts?", she counters, just to delay things at the very least. Her attention then turns on Andrea where there's a moment of hesitation and then recognition. "I havent' decided yet on what to do yet. But there is still time. It's still days before Christmas."

Nightingale has posed:
     Brows loft as Shannon slips her phone from the little brown leather pouch ever present on her belt. A light smile tugs the corners of her lips upwards, and she taps away on the screen of her phone. <<Saving the club from my awful karaoke? Be right there.>>

     She chuckles softly as the message is sent, rising from her table and making her way on up to the VIP section. There had been no time to order any appetizers or drinks, but that was fine. It was the company that counted the most. A warm smile is offered to everyone as she joins them, ugly sweater, Santa hat, and all. "Hey, Merry Christmas, everyone!" The presence of presents at the gathering was not lost on her, one brow flicking upwards. "Well heck. If I'd have known everyone would be here, I'd have brought your presents with me!"

Rage has posed:
"Hey Shannon! If you guys are gonna sing, I'll prepare my fan girl squealing." Andrea says to Megan and Shannon.

When Conner unwraps his present and she sees that it's one of her albums and a poster, her cheeks flush a bit, followed by a soft laugh. "Uh.. good taste in gifts I see, Megan." She says, then reaches into her purse to fish out a magic marker. She leans over and autographs the CD and the poster in her trademarked style, followed by a little <3 after her name.

"Being 'Super Boy' doesn't mean you're a super dancer. I think we need to test those skills out on the dance floor tonight for an official grading by a professional." As she leans back in the booth, she reaches for her drink and takes a sip from it.

"I'm sure Xavier's will throw a huge party as always."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn makes a face at Conner, "Heeey, I'm no spoiled brat! But a trip to Hawaii sounds fun!" she giggles, smirking at Illy next, "Ohh Cmon, don't be a party pooper and just open it. Have a little fun once in a while? I promise it's not booby trapped?" she smiles impishly.

Unfortunately she didn't bring Shannon's present with her "No worries! I still have yours at home!" As for the school, Megan shrugs, "Probably! Oooh thanks for signing that Andrea, that's cool! And maybe we'll do a karaoke duet in a bit hmm?" she winks at Shan.

Superboy has posed:
"I will dance with Megs here if they stop with the Christmas Carols," replies Conner with a smirk. "Do you want your present now, Megan? I mean, it is still four days for Christmas. I was told that it brings bad luck to hurry up with these. Exceptions involve alien invasions and Mr. Mxyzptlk messing up with the time-space continuum, nothing less."

Magik has posed:
    Illyana don't typically let anyone pressure her into doing anything. But this time, Illyana reconsiders that policy. Afterall, there's not exactly a real harm here. "Fine. I will open it now." After a moment, she starts to unwrap the gift, though she smiles a little as Conner starts talking Megan into dancing. That should at least draw attention away from her. "Thank you."

Nightingale has posed:
     Shannon glances over at Conner and just chuckles softly, shaking her head. "Not sure where you heard it brings bad luck to open Christmas presents early, but it doesn't. Not really. It just leaves something more to look forward to on the day of the holiday if you wait. Maybe poor form, but not poor luck." Pause. "Ummmm... who is Mr. What's-his-name..? That has got to be the worst tongue-twister I've heard in a while."

     Smiling at Megan, she reaches over to pat her hand. "Aww... you don't have to give anything, seriously. You're the gift." Her smile widens to include Illyana, Conner, and Andrea. "And so are all of you."

     As for the matter of a Christmas karaoke? Shannon just grins wide, and nods. "Sounds good. What song do you wanna sing?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles and nods to Conner, grabbing a handful of nachos, washing it down with hot choco, which is still hot! "Ow ow ow!" she pouts, fanning her burnt mouth. "Oooh hmm I think they're almost done Christmas songs for tonight. Think there's supposed to be a chill band playing soon. Let's dance in a few! I'm sooo hungry!"

As for gifts, she makes a face, "Awe, I can't wait til,Christmas, can I open it now? Pretty please?!" Shes good with the cutesy faces when she wants to.

Illy is just given a smirk and a nod as she waits to see her reaction to the gift, "Nah, I still have something for you, Shan, what's the fun of. Christmas without gifts?"

Superboy has posed:
"Mxyzptlk? He is some kind of wizard goblin weirdo for other dimension," semi-explains Conner. "Gave Supes a lot of headaches. I only met him once and it was weird as... it was weirder than anything. I can't explain."

So, handwavium. "I have not even wrapped it yet," he protests, addressing Megan. But his hands goes to a pocket of his jacket and pulls a small rectangular case. "I'll find something else for Christmas anyway. Just in case," he mock-glares Shannon.

Magik has posed:
    Illyana finishes opening the package and opens the wrapping and then the box which is fully of luxury bath-supplies. And in a handy travel pack. Which is pretty appropriate for a teleporter. It's not the kind of thing that she could whip up in Limbo. At least not without it smelling of brimstone. Not extravagant but thoughtful. It's a good gift and despite that, Illyana gives it a serious look at first, just to keep Megan in suspense on her reaction, before she offers her a smile. "It is very thoughtful. Thank you." There's still a nagging discomfort with the fact that Illyana didn't have a gift ready to return the favor. But for now, she's happy with how things are.

Nightingale has posed:
     Shannon just nods, listening to Connor's explanation. "Doesn't sound like anyone I've run into yet. If he gives the Man of Steel conniption fits, though, probably someone for me to avoid. Thanks for the heads up!" Megan's opinion on Christmas without gifts is met with a laugh, and both hands held up as if to ward off any further comment. "Okay, okay. When we get back, then. Made something for you too, Illyana. Had a lot of fun at it."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn peers at the necklace and oooohs! "Wow, it's sooo pretty, is that real amber?" she giggles and leans over to kiss him briefly in the lips, "Thanks Conner! Oooo I wanna try it on now!"

She peers at Illy next, waiting breathlessly for her response and breaks out into a smile and nod, "Heh glad you like it! figured it's pretty gloomy in Limbo all the time, you should pamper yourself more."

She just giggles and nods to Shan, "Cool, can't wait!"

Superboy has posed:
"Yes, Baltic Amber from Kaliningrad," confirms Conner. He has been travelling again. "Go for it, and look... no more karaoke," in fact they are moving things in the stage, "that must be the band you mentioned. Hope they are good." He is definitely taking Megan to dance as soon as they finish the chocolate mugs.

Magik has posed:
    Illyana raises an eyebrow as Shannon mentions having a Christmas gift for her too. She hasn't seen Shannon in months before this. She definitely shouldn't have made her a gift. "You really didn't need to", she asnwers. "Truly. It's thoughtful of you to do so, but you didn't need to".
    And then she's turns back to Megan, "Thank you. I will put it to good use. And thank you for inviting me here this evening. It's nice to get the chance to do something like this." Something normal.

Nightingale has posed:
     Shannon just turns and smiles at Illyana, shaking her head. "Maybe I didn't need to," she says softly. "But I wanted to. I don't forget kindness. You've been very kind to me, even if I haven't seen you in a while. I promise, it wasn't anything extravagant, if that helps."

     The sight of the band moving their gear in has her pouting, and she slumps back in the booth. "Well, heck. There goes that. Wonder if these guys are any good...?"

Megan Gwynn smiles, sliding on the necklace before climbing to her feet, reaching for his hand, "Sooo let's go dance then!" she smiles as she twirls in her dress, the knee length skirt fanning out around her,"See you two later!" she waves to Shannand Illy as she leads Conner towards the dance floor.
