A Space Tour
Date of Scene: 05 April 2021
Location: Cockpit - Milano
Synopsis: Star-Lord gives Starfire a tour of the Milano, before taking her out to the sun of Sol for some sunbathing.
Cast of Characters: Star-Lord, Starfire

Star-Lord has posed:
It's been a few days since their date, and so far things have been going pretty well. With Peter having finished up maintenance on the Milano and Starfire having been handling Titans business. Of course, with the Guardians busy handling some Earth business, that leaves Peter unable to head out into the galaxy just yet... but it does mean he can go for a joyride for the first time in a while, and Peter has invited Starfire along.

Moving onto the bridge in his duster and ravager garb, Peter gestures around the bridge as he guides Koriand'r on a tour of the Milano (such as it is) "And this is the bridge. Normally, there are only three chairs, but with the others crewing, I've expanding the space and added three new chairs... and now that the engines are done, I can take us out into Sol, if you'd like." Peter looks to Kori and raises an inquisitive brow.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods as she steps in. She is wearing the purple outfit she normally wears when doing 'hero' work for it's surprisingly flexible and protective - not even her enahnceD Tamaranean physiology can handle everything - and even though normal gunfire can't really injure her, it does hurt. She looks around, nodding. "I haven't been on the bridge of a starship in a while." She smiles as she walks over to the navigation console, nodding in satisfaction. "The HMSS Starfire is in another part of the galaxy at the moment. Something about Tamaranean prisoners in a far-off section of the galaxy, running silent. I'm sure they're fine. Tough crew there." She then smiles as she sits down on the chair that the first officer would normally sit in. "If you need me to run something, I can help."

Star-Lord has posed:
Peter gives Kori a grin as she sits down. "Gamora would pitch a fit if she saw you there. Luckily, she's busy." Peter moves around and plops down onto the helm chair with just enough force that the chair actually vibrates from the impact, and he buckles in. "The ship is semi-automated from my ravager days. Rocket keeps things running in the engineering department." He gestures over his shoulder with a thumb to a console to the right. "That's the main gunner console. It handles our front or back turrets if we're in a fight, but I don't expect that to happen for obvious reasons."

He starts to run his fingers over the navigation controls; a practiced hand that knows what it's doing. "The Milano can probably get to just about anywhere in the galaxy in a few Sol days, if you give me a location." Peter comments as the engines start to fire up audibly. "I'll take us around the moon and out to Jupiter. I could probably manage a few orbits around the sun too, if you like."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods slowly. "The sun would be nice," she muses softly. "Make sure you mind the Watchtower. The Justice League has a station in orbit and aren't fond of alien ships in their vicinity." She shifts to the science console and straps in to pull up the sensors. "So... I hope you don't mind if I do some sensor scans," she states. "Maybe find some gold in the asteroid belt." She grins widely as she waits for you to launch the ship.

Star-Lord has posed:
"Sweetheart, you can scan Sol as much as you like. Knock yourself out. I can dance in the belt for a while if you'd like. I'm the best pilot you'll ever see." Peter brags in a matter of fact tone as the Milano lifts off from it's concealed position... and within moments, the engines are at full acceleration as he heads right for the sky. "Turbulence will screw with us for about five seconds, but the gravity escape mode will get us through quick." He notes. Already, they're in outer space and heading into orbit. "Where to, the belt, or the sun?"

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r shrugs. "Let's go to the sun. I often wondered if soaking in the sun's rays from close up would be more effective than from 93 million miles away through an atmosphere. Being out in space is something I can do, but it's.... uncomfortable due to the cold and lack of pressure." She smiles softly. "How close can this ship safely get?"

Star-Lord has posed:
"Pretty close. If I reroute power for the engines and shields, I can almost get near the corona for an hour or so." The Milano suddenly speeds up. Not deorbitting... but rather riding Earth's gravity well around the planet. Once the sun is in view, he adjusts his course... and suddenly there's a brace of acceleration as the Milano practically zooms towards the sun itself.

"If you want to bask in the sun, I can setup the containment shields in the cargo bay. Keep atmo in, allow solar radiation inside. Like sunbathing, only much more up close and personal."

Peter looks over his shoulder at Starfire and smirks, "and without any pesky people around to annoy you."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods as the ship comes to a stop. "That sounds lovely. You do know I am very appreciative for this opportunity. I know we can't stay this close for long, but I'm grateful." She smiles as she head down to the cargo bay, blowing a kiss as she leaves the bridge.
