Derpy Doggo Does A Dumb
Date of Scene: 25 April 2021
Location: Apartment A3 - Mackenzie - Mutant Town
Synopsis: The aftermath of the derpy doggo's adventure at the vet is peaceful. The pair both, admittedly, have a soft spot for hard-luck cases. Despite his penchant for tasting footwear, Jack has a forever home.
Cast of Characters: Wild Rose, Gambit

Wild Rose has posed:
The vet. Two words that struck fear into the hearts of many a four-legged furry friend had, just a day or so prior, become the best friend of one derpy doggo. A panic-ridden ride to the emergency veterinary clinic had, thankfully, turned out to be more fright than anything truly serious. An old shoe had, as it turns out, been sniffed out, chewed to pieces, and pieces of the sole become stuck in Jack's stomach, necessitating sedation and endoscopic removal. Riana had not gotten much sleep since then, going through the apartment with a fine-tooth comb and picking up every shoe, sock, and stray piece of clothing, to lock up in the closet with a child-proof lock.

At the present moment, she's taking a break from the task, flopped down on the fold-out sofa in the living room, to cuddle Jack in her lap. Dressed in gray sweatpants and an old white tank top, she's scratching those floppy, derpy-looking ears, and kisses the top of his head. "Don't you scare mommy and daddy like that again. What are we gonna do with you, hmmm?"

All she gets is a slobbery doggy kiss on the cheek for her trouble, making her laugh a little bit.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau had been in the middle of a very important lesson at the school... he was teaching a bunch of kids to play poker, when he'd gotten Riana's frantic call. He'd jumped on his bike and gotten to the vet in record time. He'd actually passed not one but three police cars, none of which even bothered to pull out and try to catch the speed bike doing well into triple digits. He'd then stayed with her the entire time, through poor Jack's surgery. So now as they relax at home he just smiles, "How long yah t'ink it'll be foh he get's t'rough dat lock?"

Wild Rose has posed:
"If you taught him? It won't take him long."

Riana smiles somewhat lopsidedly at Remy, draping one arm over his shoulder and leaning in against him, exhausted. "Maybe I ought to let you design the lock and then see how long it takes." Thankfully, the one-eyed pooch, who now drapes himself across both their laps, bore no stitches anywhere, nor was he graced with the 'cone of shame'.

Luck had, for once, been on their side.

"You don't know how tempting it's been to smear my shoes with hot sauce to discourage Jack from eating them. Knowing my luck, he'd just call that additional seasoning and eat them anyways."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a bit, "Well Ah suppose dat all depend on 'ow much he take aftah mah side of de family non?" he says with a wicked grin, giving Jack's back a gentle scratch. "Ah mean Ah wasn' dat worried. when yah t'ink of all de stuff dis dumb mutt 'as put 'imself t'rough a lil belly ache probably not even a blip on his radar." ... 148. The one cop clocked Remy doing a 148 mph to get to the vet.

Wild Rose has posed:
Riana chuckles softly, shoulder-bumping Remy and leaning in to kiss him almost tenderly. "True. He's one tough little pooch. If my cooking hasn't killed him by now...." She glances towards the kitchen, where a very tell-tale dish rests on the ground, bearing a very damning inscription. Something about 'What Mommy Burnt'. Her fingers twine with Remy's as she joins him in the task of scritching Jack's back. "Still, I don't want to lose him. He's our Christmas pup. Our first Christmas. You brought him home to us, and he's very precious. It'd rip my heart out if something happened to him." She smiles at Remy. "What can I say? I love you both."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau grins a little bit and shakes his head. "Ah remember goin' inta de shelter figuring Ah comin' out of dare wit' some spry lil pup." He says amused. "Ah look at 'im an' was like, 'Dat is de ugliest dog Ah've evah seen..." He shakes his head. "But Ah /kept/ lookin' back at 'im. He was so pitiful.."

Wild Rose has posed:
Riana laughs, giving the aforementioned pitiful pooch the belly rub of a lifetime. "I think what daddy's trying to say, Jack, is that he's a big softie at heart." She smiles oh so innocently at Remy, with Jack turning his one-eyed gaze upon the infamous card-casting Cajun as well, his jaw open and tongue lolling out in a goofy doggy grin. Oh, HELL NO. She didn't just go there, did she?

     Yep, she did.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a little bit, shaking his head slightly. "More like a sucker foh 'ard luck cases." he says, knowing that he did in fact save Jack from execution. That cute little yappy puppy probably got another home quickly but Jack would not have. "Of coarse if he not move, Ah may not be able ta walk tomorrow."

Wild Rose has posed:
Riana laughs, and kisses Remy very soundly, while at the same time, reaching down to attempt to scoop Jack off of their laps. "We'll just have to work out the kinks, that's all," she purred, grinning at the crazy Cajun. "I couldn't have said no to him, either." Indeed, the derpy doggo that deemed the pair the alphas of his pack, had found his forever home with them--and seemed intent upon expressing his appreciation by remaining as close to the pair as possible.

"We may not have it all together, cher, but together we have it all."
