Supergirl has posed:
The intended mall trip had ended in disaster. Although the day had been saved due to the combined efforts of various superheroes and Andrea and her...Pet dog..The shopping trip had been rather ruined.

Once she has returned to the Titans tower, Kara isn't so much physically exhausted as emotionally, staring at the tv mindlessly as she sips on some hot cocoa. To top things off, a warm sunny day had quickly mutated into a miserable rainstorm. Surely nothing else could go wrong this evening?

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Owen was with her, having made a quick stop to buy a new set of clothes, at full price, since the mall and its sale were out of the question. He was wearing a t-shirt that said, 'Holy crap! Dave, is that you?' and it had an image of a bird looking at a sunny side up egg on the ground. He had on black shorts, with neon pink accents, and sandals. His own clothes had gotten a bit dusty, and few rips, from the battles, and digging through the rubble for civilians. Some of it could be mended, others were write-offs. He looked at the TV, which was currently playing Bohemian Rhapsody, and then to Kara, who he ruffled the hair of. "How're you holding up, luv?"

Kara Danvers is quite happy to cuddle up with her hot cocoa. Even though she didn't get as cold as easily as humans, this earth tradition always seemed to make her feel nice and warm and cozy.

"Hmm, just thinking about how our fun little shopping trip got ruined..I was really hoping to buy Willow a cute new outfit that she could wear as a kind of casual superhero costume, but I wasn't planning on a couple of scared kids trashing the mall."

She sighs as she rests her head on his shoulder, "Although bumping into Andrea and seeing her new store was a wonderful surprise." ah, ever the optimist.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Owen would wrap an arm around Kara, giving her extra warmth, as she rested her head against his shoulder. He would slowly trace her arm, just his fingers playing, but not outright tickling her. "Yeah, mutants, that's the scary thing about them. They're like little weapons of mass destruction, walking around, and can go off at a moment's notice. Poor things don't even know they're a mutant until their powers manifest. It's got to be terrifying. I... don't think I'm a mutant. I didn't get my speed until I was practicing with me dad, threw a boomerang that was going for his head, and I outran it to save him. I was much older than mutants usually get their powers, and he said something about my mom, my birth mom, likely being the cause, so, I think I'm a metahuman." She was such an optimist that he broke out into a full blown smile, "you always see the silver lining, don't you."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smiles and nods knowingly, "Ohh, I know a little something about that myself, you know?" she shrugs, thinking back to the first time she came to earth.

"When I first awakened after my pod was knocked out of orbit and crashed to earth, I was a scared, confused teenager. Just thrown on this crazy alien planet, with these incredible and dangerous powers. Unlike my cousin, I didn't get to learn how to use them since birth. It took a while to grasp how to control them and it was absolutely frightening."

She shrugs and smiles, "But I turned out alright in the end, and I'm sure they will too. I trust Andrea, she's a good person, pretty brave too, standing up to them like that." she smiles, "Ooh, her dog was extra cute too, I'll have to get her to introduce him to me sometime.."

When Owen starts talking about his own powers, she smiles, peering up at him curiously. "Ooh, that's interesting..And you didn't, oh, get bitten by a radioactive..Err..Flash, or something?" she grins and winks playfully at that.

Captain Boomerang has posed:
"That must have been so rough on you, plus, new language, new culture, new world, Earth must be so different to where you grew up." He looked down at her, loving the smile and curious look, "most people think I was bitten by a radioactive kangaroo, although most people don't know the really interesting Australian animals. Like the Tiger Beetle, which can run 9 kilometers per hour. That's like 125 body lengths per second. Or the Dracula Ant, which can clamp down its jaws at 320 kilometers per hour."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers shrugs and smiles, "Eh, it was overwhelming at first, and kinda weird to see my baby cousin was all grown up and needing my help instead of the other way round..But it worked out in the end, and it will cue those kids too I'm sure."

The whole thing with the kangaroos died cause her to burst out laughing, but of course Kara is not caught up on Australian culture, wildlife and long running jokes. "Soo I guess kangaroos are common in Australia then?"

She tries to imagine a beetle crossed with a tiger or an ant crossed with a vampire and just laughs some more,"Okay, are you being serious or just having fun at my own expense?"

Captain Boomerang has posed:
"You really don't know much about Australia, do you?" He said when she burst out laughing at the kangaroo reference, and the question. "That's all right, just means I get to teach you about my homeland. So, let's see, we fought a war with Emus in 1932... and lost." He would then pull up the Emu War on Wikipedia for her to read, as he gave her some supplementary commentary. "It's now become an internet meme, with people frequently editing the Wikipedia page to make fun of it. Like the outcome probably says 'Decisive Emu Victory', or something like that." And then he'd show her the entries on the other animals he had mentioned. "Can't it be both?" That he was being serious and having fun at her expense.

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smiles and shrugs, getting a bit more comfy with her head resting in his lap, looking up at him and peering at the wiki link rather upside-down now. "Ooh, noo, I seriously thought it was...Wow, Emus? That's just...Really weird!" she grins, "I mean seriously, I guess either you have a wicked sense of humour, or maybe all Australians are just aliens themselves, cuz they seem weirder than the rest of you humans."

Yeah, she can be mean too.

He grinned broadly as she had shifted, and was now laying down on the couch, her head no longer against his shoulder, but instead resting in his lap, and those ridiculous shorts he had bought from some random store along hte way to Titans Tower. "Ah, that's actually pretty straight forward. Europe and Asia are the same landmass. We call them continents for political reasons, not geographic."

"Africa is also linked to them. North and South America are also linked to each other, and North America has periodically been linked to Asia, as recently as like, twenty thousand years ago. Australia on the other hand, separated from Antarctica uh, I think 85 million years ago. Historically speaking, it just recently started having periodic links to Asia. Had one like 18,000 years ago. But unlike Asia and North America, which link and de-link, Australia only ever had the one."

He would look, checking to see if she had fallen asleep, "not asleep yet? Okay, so that covered the plants and animals. Ours are different because they evolved differently from everything else. Most of the people came much later, there were some aboriginals, but we were settled by Britain. So, we kind of are aliens. Maybe that's why you like me so much?"

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers giggles, "Heey, I love the shorts by the way. They're soo cute! You know, I saw some shorts with goofy boomerang patterns at the mall, would go with that goofy yet somehow cute scarf of yours." she winks at him.

She smirks though at the geography lesson and shrugs, "Heh, you don't need to tell me, I mean, I did learn basic geography. Oh sure, I was homeschooled for the first couple years, but hey, I'm a fast learner. Well mostly. I kinda skipped over some of the boring history bits. And dinosaurs? Like, what's with that? Giant lizard creatures once roamed the eath? that must have been exciting."

Of course Australia might have been one of the things she skipped over too, or maybe she didn't go into much detail on everything because there was just soo much to learn. "Ooh, I guess they kinda are. Well that's cool. Guess that's why you're so darned interesting."

Captain Boomerang has posed:
"If you feel that strongly about them, then I guess I'll just have to wear them more often," he said smiling and on the verge of laughter. As she explained the other ones, "not too sure I'm ready to make a change to my costume, but yeah; I'll wear them at home, with you, if you like. They aren't too goofy, are they?" He asked, concern in his voice. Was she messing with him?

"Kind of before my time on the dinosaurs, but they did seem interesting to me. Although, they did bring some back. I could never afford to visit Jurassic Park, though, maybe we could fly Air Supergirl to cut down on the expenses?"

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers just smiles all mischevously at that and shrugs. "Who knows? Maybe?" oh yes, that's an evil glint in her eyes, isn't it? Yup, totally messing with him.

The whole Jurassic park thing though is not a movie Kara had ever watched. "Ooh, is that a real thing? Like, are there real dinosaurs still living in some park somewhere? Because that'd be lots of fun.."

Captain Boomerang has posed:
"I heard they aren't real, but like, best guesses. They remade them, from DNA, not sure about the science, but they probably aren't 100% accurate to what existed millions of years ago, but it's more like a best guess. I heard there were issues they had to resolve with some short cuts or creativity."

And then he ran two fingers down to her chin, playing. His fingers would leap from her chin to her neck, and he would 'walk' them, like they were a stick figure, downwards.

Kara Danvers grins. "Ooh, but I'll just bet you're toying with me again, aren't you?" still, you never know. Cloning was commonplace where she came from, where the technology was highly advanced, but here on earth..Haven't they managed to clone sheep recently? Maybe they were able to clone dinos too..

"Hmm, wouldn't that be something.." she murmurs, but is quickly distracted by his fingers dancing along her neckline, and she chuckles, playfully swatting his hand. "Heey, that tickles! You find my weak spot, y'know, other than kryptonite!" Yes, she can actually be sensitive to tactile touch, even if bullets don't break her skin, even they are ticklish.

He stopped when she battled his hand away, instead moving his fingers to brush her hair as she sat like that, looking up at him. He was happy. Perhaps for the first time in his life, he was truly happy. He never wanted this to end. "I only find strong spots. They're all strong. And if I could, I'd get rid of every last gram of kryptonite on Earth." He hated the stuff, with a passion, because it made Kara sick.

Kara Danvers smiles, reaching up to touch his face, tracing her fingers around his jaw line before her fingers flutter upwards to brush his lips. "Awe, you're too sweet. I mean, it would be nice to be rid of the stuff. It's not like it's that common in the first place. But there are a lot of powerful highly advanced sciency type labs out there who would know exactly where to find the stuff, or how to produce their own."

She frowns a bit at the thought, something that never stopped bothering her. "Of course..I still need to reconfigure that program with the armoured man..Seeing as Flash kinda..Hijacked it." she smiles sheepishly at the memory of his goofy 'Speed Demon' persona, shaking her head. "Of course, that was an interesting exercise and honestly the first time I got to work with you, even if we were more competing against each other. But I guess you can learn something new from pretty much any scenario."

Captain Boomerang has posed:
Owen's face was soft to the touch, with a reasonably strong jaw line. He wasn't chiselled in marble, but he was above average in that regard. And when her finger brushed his lips, he took a playful bite, kissing her fingertips. He listened, unable to speak with her fingers teasing his lips like that, until she pulled them away. "I thought it was amazing," he really did. He had little experience with holograms, "but yeah, he does that, doesn't he?" Flash was quite a character. "In tandem or in competition, as long as we're fighting for the same goals, I'm happy. And you learn more from problems than you do successes."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smiles and nods. "He's a good guy. A bit too eager, but he's god more experience than us too, I suppose. He can teach us alot.." and then a thought hits her, peering up at him curiously. "Saay, he's got speed powers, and so do you..Think you got hit by the speed force too, or something? Although it's kinda weird. I mean, do you recall getting into any weird accidents? I guess I don't really know enough about how the speed force works to understand it really, though.."

She nods and smiles. "You're right. It's too bad Lex's mall got trashed though. I feel like if I were a better leader, I could have done something to minimize the damage. We DID get a lot of work done, helping him out though. I hope Robin finds something with his investigation. It's a little scary to think that someone is going around targeting metas.."

Captain Boomerang has posed:
"No, none that I can think of. The first thing I remember doing anything at super speed was when I threw a boomerang at my dad, didn't mean to throw it that hard, just kind of a game of catch, but with boomerangs. But it was going at superspeed, and I instantly ran to get him out of the way before it took his head off. He said something about my biological mother having speed powers. Meloni Thawne. Looked her up, no social media presence, like at all." Little did Boomer know, she wouldn't be born for a few centuries. "Speaking of the mall, what kind of pizza did you want?"

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers hmms. "Weeird. Soo you don't really know where your parents are now or any information about them? But that's so strange, you'd think they would have at least, a birth certificate or something?" how very very strange.

She smirks at the pizza thing though, eventually lifting her head up a bit to peer at him. "Ooh, soo did we actually decide who won back there yet? Seemed like it was a close race."

Captain Boomerang has posed:
"Pretty common for someone given up for adoption. Most parents who give up a kid don't want to be found. Gotta be hard on them. Even if they regret it the next day, by then, it's difficult, and the longer, the harder it gets." He was of course assuming they would learn to regret that decision. "My dad's dead, couldn't find any info on my mom. So, hey, if we ever get married, at least there will be plenty of room on the groom... oh, right. We'll elope." He laughs at the joke, since her family would be small too. "You always win," even if he had won, he'd probably declare her the victor.

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers chuckles a bit, climbing up all the way so she's actually sitting sideways in his lap. "Awe, I'm sorry, that's gotta be hard..Heck, I *know* it's hard being adopted. I mean, I was adopted too, althoug I guess I was luckier than my cousin. At least I got to know my parents into my teens..You know, before.."

She seems a little sad at the memory. Really it only happened some six or so years ago. It's still fresh in her mind, leaving her family behind, watching her planet blow up, being stuck in suspended animation for nearly a decade after that..

She shakes her head, reaching for his hand, perhaps for some reassurance as she tries to stay positive. "But we'll stick together, we still have each other right? And an elope sounds like fun." she chuckles, "One day..Though let's not get ahead of ourselves." Still, he is sweet.

He was joking about the eloping thing, since it stemmed from a joke that his side of the family is sparse, or at least as far as he know it is. Unbeknownst to Boomer, he has a half-brother in Impulse, and he is distantly related to the Flash, Cobalt Blue, and host of other speedsters. Very distantly in some cases, far more recently in others, albeit with some temporal shenanigans.

He reached an arm around to support her back as she shifted and sat sideways in his lap, "probably easier on me, since I didn't really lose them. How can you lose someone you never met. Or, not until really late. I barely got to know my dad." He seemed sad, but she was great at cheering him up. "So, I believe I owe you a pizza. Want to order in, or go out?"

Kara Danvers smiles, "Well, I'm pretty comfy here, so how about we order in, hmm? Although last time I insisted on Hawaiian so I guess it's your turn to pick?" She nods, quite happy to snuggle up to him, not about to interrupt things by going out somewhere.

"Yeah, I guess we have more in common than I initially thought. Soo..Your mom supposedly has some speed powers? Might be something to go on. Maybe you can ask Flash a bit more about the speed force. It's a start?"

Captain Boomerang has posed:
He did love her in this position, snuggling up against him, just the daily life of cuddling, caressing, touching, being near her, as they talked. Whatever was on the television was of no interest to Owen, as he had Kara to focus in on. Although, his phone was on the coffee table, meaning it would be difficult for him to get it with her in his lap. "I suppose. He does seem unusually affable. Makes me not want to trust him. I guess I'm just a bit wary of people trying to take advantage, even if maybe he's not at all."

Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers had totally forgotten completely what she was watching on tv to be honest. "Hmm, yeah, that Flash guy is a bit..Hyper and impulsive, but he means well I'm sure. It's okay, we'll iron out the wrinkles. I mean, he just wants to help us, and as it is, we need help rebuilding the Titans."

She smiles as she plays with his fingers, giving him a gentle hand massage as she thinks aloud. "I know a lot of us have been going our own way, doing our own thing. And members of JLA wanted to tutor us, maybe a few years too late..But with these metas losing control of their powers, I think we need to put a united front, show the world we mean business, we can be taken seriously, and we're just as in control and as reliable as Justice League."
