Date of Scene: 24 April 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed.
Cast of Characters: Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez), Raven, Miss Martian

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Its a rather nice afternoon. People are getting out of work. Schools getting out of session things in general are going well. The area known as The Old City, off of Queensland park is busy. As kids get out of school a number of them are coming to the coffeeshops to and various locales. Some people are even hitting up a couple of resturants. What could possibly go wrong?

Well... Sadly a group of guys has managed to pull off a successful bank heist. They are driving through the area at high speed. Guns blazing as they fire at the cops who are doing their best to stop these mad men. These guys actually had a well thought out plan. They have a very clear destination in mind. the Seaport. All they have to do is get there and they will be set. A Clean getaway. Its exactly what they are hoping for.

Out in the water, things are certainly tranquil. Below the waves though, a young woman is just sorta relaxing, petting a rather cute seahorse. "Of course we got him. You didn't think we were going to just let him go did you." She smiles to the seahorse who doesn't make a sound. "WHAT?! You try arguing with Batman. You'd be better off arguing with a chunk of Coral." The Seahorse just looks at her and swims around her head. "Well thats Bob! Bob's an idiot! He eating rocks! ROCKS!!! Besides. He's a parrotfish!"

Raven has posed:
Rachel is strolling along the seafront, or doing something that would be called strolling if someone other than Rachel was doing it. Her closed face and methodical, purposeful stride make it hard to tell she's being whimsical. One would never guess she's actually reconnoitering the scene for possible date material; but she's met some...interesting people lately, people who seem to want to get to know her romantically, and that kind of thing is easier on Rachel if she has a little advanced knowledge so she needn't worry about anything more than she must. The seafront seems like the kind of place humans like to walk around while talking to each other, at least according to some of the movies she's seen, so she's scouting it now. It seems fine to her.
Rachel's mind is still and closed, her third eye turned inward. Even so, she does sense something out in the water, some kind of psychic activity. Turning to the beach, she reaches out with her feelings and finds...nothing malicious, it seems. Good, then. None of her business to interfere with whatever's out there having a good time. Maybe it's a dolphin. She seems to remember reading in an Azarathian book that dolphins communicate telepathically.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann is not a fan of loud noises...so Gunshots and Police Sirens get her attention as she sits at a table working on her homework. She stows her things in her book-bag and looks to find out what is going on. She has been on Earth long enough to know what a police chase is, and decides to see about helping out. She steps into an alley out of sight, assumes her Green Martian form, and flies up a bit, placing her book bag on a ledge were it should be safe and out of sight, before flying after the police.

She recently had some flight time ghosting an expert flier and tries to remember what his reflexes showed her about flying. It is not the same thing as knowing how to fly, it is more like have once known how to fly and relearning it...but is better than she used to be. She shifts herself into camouflage mode, better not to be seen until she is ready. She is soon flying along over the police cars, observing.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
The Crooks all jump out the car, letting it keep going and crashing into a boat. Sinking both into the water. They are running now down the pier. They all load up into a boat and fire it up. "YEAH! We're home free! We got this!" The boat lurches forward. Its a motor boat with a big engine. One slight problem. They didn't untie it! So they take a chunk of the pier with them!

Under the water, about a half mile from the disaster area, The girl in the water, Lorena Marquez, Is still having a conversation with her friend the sea horse. Then the seahorse swims behind her to hide as the blend of the crashing car and boat send a shockwave through the water. Its not as intense as it would be on top of it. No But sound travels very easily in the water and that sound wave is enough to hurt her ears a little. "DAMMIT! What the hell is going on! Freaking Surface Dwellers!!!" She quickly grabs her trident and looks around. Then, there goes a boat away from the blast direction... She surfaces and looks around. "Really?" Shaking her head, she drops down. First things first. She begins to focus. A telepathic message all her own. Calling out for assistance in stopping that boat. It is definitely not strong enough to actually affect M'gann or Raven. It is how ever strong enough to get the attention of something else...

Raven has posed:
Rachel hears the gunshots, but has no context to understand what they are. She's never heard real gunshots before, just the FX that get played in movies. It never occurred to her the real thing would sound so undramatic; at least not until a car come barreling toward her, its inhabitants shooting at the police and having no qualms about running over a pale teenage girl who stands in their way. They would have done, were Rachel's reflexes less, but she managed to fling herself aside into a box of dry ice, bumping her shoulder hard. She doesn't complain. The alternative would have been worse.
The police are holding back. They don't dare drive through a populated area like this one as the robbers did; they're circling around the area to block off potential exits, which means they'll be useless in this.
    Fine, then.
Rachel's already on the ground, largely concealed by the box she hit, and people are too busy fleeing to pay attention to her. Good enough. She sets Rachel aside for now and becomes Raven not just in appearance (though the punky clothes vanishing to be replaced by Raven's blue robe, cloak, gloves, and boots are as dramatic as you could like) but in mind. It's Raven who rises into the air, buoyed on her own power, looking for the men who would do her evil, that she might do unto them.

Miss Martian has posed:
The car hits the boat, which explodes into a ball of fire. M'gann ceases to to be invisible (and barely remains green) and dives under the water...she has learned fire rarely burns under water in school (she has to be VERY careful in chemistry class). Under the water, she turns herself into dolphin and swims after the boat. Something is odd though, the feeling of lightness and energy she is used to since she arrived on Earth is missing. The water does bouy her up, and she swims after the boat...

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
The men on the boat are all happy. Not only do they believe they've gotten away but they also got the loot. "Did you see that explosion! That was so cool! That was like some Segal movie!" One of them brags as they look at their loot. Things though start becoming rather strange. Several dorsel fins rise out of the water. "Dude! Are those sharks?! Are we being hunted by freaking sharks!?"

Another one looks out over them and rolls his eyes. With a quick move he swings and decks the guy. "Thats for being an idiot. They aren't sharks ya mook. They are Whales. Killer Whales. Don't you watch discovery?!" He draws a pistol and begins shooting at the water near the whales.

Word quickly travel to Aquagirl who is already checking the wreckage of the car and the boat. She's searching for survivors. Her heart is pounding as the image is a grim reminder to her. She stops for a brief moment. She gives a 2 word order to the Whales. Flip em."

With no warning the Whales move in and start slamming into the little boat.

Raven has posed:
Raven stays high above the water as she flies after the boat. It's a general rule that people don't look up, and she doesn't want to attract anyone's attention yet. Her eyes widen a little at the sight of the whales attacking, and she kind of feels useless at the moment...until the gunmen start shooting at the whales. Whales need protecting too.
Raven stops her pursuit--she can spare more concentration if she's hovering than if she's moving--and claps her hands together, fingers pointed at the boat's general direction. In her creaking voice, she intones her focusing mantra, and black anti-light shoots out from her hands in three uneven arcs to find the barrels of the guns and encase them in black auras of telekinetic force. The gunmen can keep firing if they want, but they won't enjoy what happens if they do.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann catches up to the boat. She leaps out of the water as a Dolphin and morphs into her Green Martian form. She says to the bank robbers, "I think you made someone mad. If I were you, I would surrender now and hope someone night be willing to get you out of here and into police custodyt, rather than in the water with our large unhappy friends."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Now the men are freaking out. They see some funky energy all over there weapons. Thats enough to make them stop. If thats not enough their boat is being slammed by several whales. "Please make it stop! You're going to kill us!!! I can't swim!!!" One of em cries as things continue. Then with one final strike, the boat flips.

In the water, Aquagirl is swimming her way towards the now capsized boat. There was no one in the destroyed car and ruined boat. SOme people are going to be heated though when they find out their car and/or boat is now at the bottom of the Atlantic. She quickly moves in and looks at the criminals. A little smirk is given, "Whats wrong air breathers? Are you drowning without your oxygen?" She rolls her eyes. Even if she would love to let them drown, she takes hold of one of the guys and pulls them to the surface. Her attention goes to the whales, "Thank you." Then to one of the whales she smiles. She opens her mind and speaks to her. "Could you stick around, I think these guys need a ride towards that boat in the harbor with the flashing lights." The whales sings and blows water out its blowhole. With that she positions the first guy onto the whale's back

Raven has posed:
As long as she already has a grip on their guns, Raven sees no reason not to keep holding them after the robbers have released them. Part of her wants to destroy them, but it would be better to turn them over to the police, to track down the weapons' history. She lets them flutter around her head like...well, like a small murder of ravens, maybe, as she lowers herself toward the water, ankles together (that's the kind of thing you have to think about when you fly while wearing a robe whose bottom half is a loincloth), hands holding the edges of her cloak to make it billow. "Thanks for stopping them," she creaks down at Aquagirl and Miss Martian. "Do you need more help?"

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann floats up next to Raven and says, "Greetings to both of you. I am Miss Martian. It appears you two have things under control." Which is just as well, She has to figure out what happened there in the water.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles up to Rachel and nods, "Actually yes. I don't want to put too much stress on my friend here." She gently pats and rubs the orca gently. She smiles softly. "You can pet her if you'd like. She'd enjoy it. Sorry. Umm. These guys are clearly trouble. I dunno what they did or what they were running from but I think they need turned in to the police." She drops down below the surface and then resurfaces. "Umm, Miss Martian? You were a dolphin! Would you mind helping me get these guys out of the water. Apparently when surface dwellers panic they forget how to swim." She rolls her eyes and goes after another of them. There are about 5 more of them.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann thinks about it for a moment, and morphs two more pairs of arms. She grabs the bank robbers out of the water and holds them in the air, "Shall I drop them on the harbor patrol boat, or with the police on the shore." Now that she is out of the water, she can fly again. She has had to put up her mind shields to touch the men without reading their minds, so she is currently blocked mentally.

Raven has posed:
Raven sees a way around this. She flings the guns high in the air; the black auras of her control dissipate as she flings them to free up a little bit of concentration. Her mind, if you're looking into it, is a marvel of focus, a pinhole through which the dark energy of her emotions are channeled like lasers; in this case, to throw a blast at the boat's engine and tear it in half as if it had been grabbed and pulled apart by immense hands. "There. They can't get away now," she says as she absently catches the falling guns with her mind, setting them back to their uneven orbits around her head.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "Oh umm. I've no idea where to send them. I guess the harbor patrol should take them. I dunno though. The only thing I know is that these guys littered my home with a car!" She sighs and rubs her head. With a quick action, she swims down and grabs the next guy. "Nice to meet you, by the way. I'm Aquagirl." She smiles a little. She's not really trying to use telepathy at the moment as its a challenge for her. She smiles. "Take em, baby." She states to the whale, giving the okay telepathically as well. The whale goes swimming towards one of the boats with flashing lights. "Sorry about all of this."

Raven has posed:
"Raven," she replies. "I don't know what you're sorry about."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann is concentrating, it is hard to fly, maneuver 6 arms, and keep up her shields all at the same time. She flies and drops the thieves on the Harbor Patrol boat and sighs with relief s the pressure on her mental shields is reduced. She comments, "Those two over there get the credit for this capture, I merely pulled them out of the water." She morphs cack to just having two arms again. This is much better. She flies back over and joins the others, "I think the Police will want a statement from all of us."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
"I don't suppose I can just say I'm an innocent bistandard who helped fish these estupidos out of the water. I only asked the whales to help out. And maybe to flip their boat." Aquagirl snickers a little. She sighs, "Ah well, lets go talk to the police. Not like anyone has any jurisdiction out here except the Atlanteans." She laughs a little. "I guess you two lead the way. Even when I was a surface dweller I never came to this city." She states as she smiles.

Raven has posed:
Raven raises her eyebrows at the way Lorena didn't answer the question...but then, Raven didn't technically ask a question, just implied it. Either that or Aquagirl just doesn't want to answer. Fair enough either way. She floats over to the police boat and drops the guns on the boat's deck. "They were shooting these," she explains in her flat, emotionless voice. "You'll match the bullets to the ones you recover."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "I am Miss Martian, I helped out with capturing Two-face a few days ago. I heard the sirens and went to investigate. I followed the boat but took a while to catch up...by the time I got there the boat was already being assaulted by whales. I pulled them out of the water and brought them to you. That is about the extent of my involvement."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez gives her two cents as well, "I was minding my business when a car crashed into the water into a boat. I may be responsible for the whales part in this. I also checked the collision. There is no one in there. No one dead either." She frowns over the whole thing. "I was just having a conversation with one of my friends. A Seahorse as it were." She sighs. "I should head to Atlantis. I'm a little... off my game I guess. I've not really interacted this much with Surface dwellers in a while."

Raven has posed:
The police don't ask Raven any questions, and she doesn't bother volunteering. She just watches them impassively (the hood of her cloak shows an unnatural, beak-shaped shadow over the top half of her face that somehow always leaves her eyes visible but never reveals more of her, despite the lighting) until they head out. When they're gone, she turns to Lorena and observes, "Running from people doesn't make you better at dealing with them."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann sighs, "Dealing with people, I am trying hard to learn that. There was no one left on Mars to show me how..." Raven can sense the lonlieness behind that statement, the vast depths of the lack that made M'gann fand a way to reach Earth.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez frowns. "I can't stay out of the water real long. a day tops before I start dehydrating. Also its not that I'm running from them. Its that, I guess, the Atlanteans have rubbed off on me a little. I guess from down in the ocean I see what surface dwellers do to the planet. I've lost one home already and I don't want anything to happen to this one. Its hard to explain. I just seen too much ya know?"

Raven has posed:
"Alright," Raven says mildly. No point trying to force Aquagirl to stay if she doesn't want to. "Thanks for what you did today."

Miss Martian has posed:
"I could visit under water, but something funny happened to me while I was swimming, I think I need to figure it out before I do it often," replies M'gann. She says to the others, "It is nice working with you both." It is easier working with other heroes...then she knows she is doing well and contributing, unlike her daily life.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez is just about to dive back down into the water before she stops. Her gaze goes to Miss Martian. "What happened?" She asks nervously. She looks at her curiously. "I mean I live down there so, I didn't notice anything. Maybe I can help though. I can talk underwater but, I don't think either of you can. If you were fish I could talk to you with my mind but... I dunno. "

Raven has posed:
Raven had been planning to fly off, but she pauses at this. She has nothing to add at this moment--not until she hears the answer--but you never know what the next moment will bring.

Miss Martian has posed:
"On Earth, I am stronger, tougher, able to fly, and have energy blassts I do not have on Mars...but under water, I lost it. I was no more there thn I would be on Mars..." She adds telepathically to both of the others, <I can talk to you anywhere...as long as both minds are open.> She snaps her fingers an exclaims, "Oxygen...it is pressure AND Oxygen. There is plenty of pressure under water, but less oxygen."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles and sighs a little. "Okay lets show you a little trick. There is a lot of oxygen. The problem is, you are going about it the wrong way. You're going at it like a surface dweller would. As a dolphin you were a Mammal. You couldn't breathe underwater. You were just holding your breath. you do that too long, you're going to get weaker and need to surface for air. Look." She pulls her collar away from her neck. With a very gentle motion, she opens her gills. "Try this. These allow you to take in oxygen from the water. Just don't do away with your lungs or your won't be able to surface. I mean, I have both because I'm weird."

Raven has posed:
"Just be careful to mimic the biology as well as the shape, or that might end badly for you," Raven suggests wryly to Miss Martian.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann explains, "No, that is not what I mean. I can be a fish and breathe water easily enough...if I actually breathed oxygen normally. The tests though, the ones STAR Labs did, it is both the absolute and the relative pressure of oxygen that effects my metabolism to gime me the extra powers. Water does not have as much free oxygen as air, that is why humans can not breathe water. I simply do not have enough free ixygen when I am in water to manifest the ecxtra powers."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez nods slowly, "Ah well. Just trying to help. And I am not a fish!" She states and rubs her head. "I'm just different. I was a normal human and then.... Well a bunch of crazy stuff happened. Now I spend most of my time in the sea. Its cool because I get to see daily what most never see ever."

Raven has posed:
Raven looks between you both. She has nothing to contribute here; the conversation is pretty much between you two. She shrugs internally and doesn't let herself feel disappointed despite the temptation. "Well. Thank you both for what you did today," she says (she means it, though the way she speaks, it's possible to think she's being passive-aggressive), gathers her cloak around her, and flies off.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "I will have to go check with STAR labs, but I can try taking on a fish form I think I am right." She frowns, "I have no idea how you can breathe water and still be otherwise human...but there are a lot of things about this world I really do not know. I will try a fish form and see if it changes anything." She turns herself into a dogfish and dives into the water.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez dives down with ease and smiles as she feels the water flow over her gills. She grins. "For one, I'm not a fish. My body was altered to more resemble an Atlantean. Atlanteans live underwater. They adapted to it. As such they are physically more resiliant so they can handle the pressure of the ocean, Gills to allow them to breath underwater, and they are stronger so they can swim through the water a bit easier. I could dive to the ocean floor without the slightest problem." She smiles. "Maybe that would be the trick. If you can shapeshift, you might be able to take on an Atlantean form. That would allow you to withstand the preasure, breath the water, and maybe keep some of your powers?"

Miss Martian has posed:
Telepathically, M'gann responds, <I think I would only have the normal abilities of the form...I do not seem to havbe anything else in this form than what it gives me.> She pauses to study Lorena's morphology with her martian senses and tries emulating her.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez stays still letting M'gann study her. She takes a deep breath and speaks back telepathically. < Sorry, Not used to talking to people like this. I've tried before but I really am not good at it. Fish and even sea mammals are easier.> She smiles. <Don't look too deep in my mind...>

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann admits, <I am not used to it either...Mars is deserted...in years of wandering after my parents left I never met another living Martian. My parents were mind blocked, I could not learn with them.> flasjes of memory of vast stretches of barren wasteland and rare hidden outposts accopmany the thought.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez frowns and hangs her head as those flashes hit her. Its a scary place to her. Seeing that world... Its flat out scary. A place without water... Water that she's come to depend on for her own life. Part of her just wants to hug M'gann. <I'm so sorry. I know what it's like to be without parents.> In that moment a glimpse comes from her. A single flash of memory crosses the the telepathic link. That single flash shows two people holding each other. They are very much lifeless. Behind them... a number of people are just floating.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann hugs Lorena, glad hat the other girl is enough of a telepath to shield her own mind, she transmits, <I came here to Earth because I could tell it was still alive. I am glad that it holds nice people like you...though sad it also includes bad people likr those robbers.>

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles and hugs M'gann tight. <Well since everything that happened that landed me in the water, One person really inspired me. He's the reason I call myself Aquagirl. Thats Aquaman. He's king of Atlantis. He actually rescued me. I was a real wreck. I was in shock. I just seen so much happen.> She shakes it off, fighting back those memories. < I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to help people. I guess I just got jaded overtime.>

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann assures her, "You did pretty good at being a hero today. If you want to be a hero though, you need to be involved with people. Heroics almost always involve people."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez frowns, "Thats the hard part. When Sub Diego sank... I seen a lot of loss. It hurt. In the time since then, for the past 5 years, I've been living underwater, seeing the downside of humanity when they dump stuff in the sea, spill oil, Medical waste some people toss... Its messed up. It gives a bad taste ya know?"

Miss Martian has posed:
"I do not really know, but I do see how much humans waste. I guess living in a life rich world makes them less frugal," at this point, she has copied Lorena's from and is actually speaking under water.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles a little, "Hows it feel?" She asks with a smile. "Well, I guess if I am going to help out I should probably find some friends to work with. Doing it on my own, while I could I mean I could pick up a truck if i needed to, It helps to have a team. I can stay out of the water for about a day before I start feeling the effects of it." She snickers, "Well, you're handling it, wanna see something really cool?"

Miss Martian has posed:
"I do not think I have anything more than a reasonable approximation of your abilities at the moment," replies M'gann. "It is not conclusive, but I think I am right, my strength and other powers are reduced or lacking under water. It is something I will have to remember."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "Is that a no?" She asks in a near playful tone. She snickers, "Tell you what. Follow me. If at any point you start to feel pain, let me know. We will surface. Hope you like to swim." She takes off.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann has no trouble following Lorena...however she is actually a bit slower and weaker, her shape changing is mostly surface level...and without enough oxygen she is substantially reduced in power.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez does keep her speed in check. In the water, she is fast. Able to move upwards of 100mph with ease. She smiles back, "Are you alright back there?" She asks as she keeps going quickly leaving behind the city.

Miss Martian has posed:
"I am limited," responds M'gann. "I think I am stronger and fastere than I would be on Mars...there is SOME oxygen here, just not as much as I am used to. It is enough for me to come close to your abilities...but only close. In the water, you will be better than me."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez looks at M'gann, "Then we will make sure we stay out of the Trench." She states with a smile. She keeps going for what seems like forever. Its just so long. Then in the distance, something begins to light up the sea...

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann wonders whether the pressure of the trench would harm her, and decides it is a question that can be settled another day. Her Martian Senses are perfectly capable of seeing in the dark or through most objects...her hearing and snse of smell she is going to have to get used to again...water is mich different from Earth Air as Eart Air is from Martian air. She can see the underwater dwellings ahead. She had, before meeting orena, no idea there were people who live under the water.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles a little, "Welcome to Atlantis." She smiles brightly as she continues leading the way towards the underwater city. It really is something to see. Nothing like the cities on the surface. "Its up to you if you want to venture in this time or just get a good look. This place is a second home to me. They took me in when everything happened."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann notes, "It is much more like the cities of Earth than it is like the ones of Mars used to be...not that those are still intact. Indeed, it much resembles certain styles like those of Ancient Greece, but adapted for a different environment. One that is denser and where what comes from above is more likely to be slow moving but solid."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "Yeah, The worship of Posidon and Neptune is really big. They are technically the same god though. God of the tides and sea. I don't really go for the religious stuff but, thats me. It is a unique place though. They are very much suspicious of surface Dwellers. I used to be one but they view me as one of theirs now."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann wonders, "Why wouldn't they...after all you are one of them now. You no longer live on the surface, you have the adaptations for breathing water for living in a high pressure and low temperature environment and presumably other changes from surface dwellers I have not checked for yet."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez frowns and lets out a soft exhale. "Do you really want to know?" She asks nervously. "If so, read my mind. You will see why." She frowns and lets the memories rise. The sinking of a chunk of the city, her parents dying because of it. The thousands of people drowning all around her while she somehow survived like so few others. Its like looking through the eyes of a young girl which makes sense as she was only 12.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann tries to screen out the rush of images, but since they have been conversing telepathically she was not prepared for the onslaught. She realizes it, in a sense, would be like a Martian who survived being burned only to find fire now crucial to living. M'gann says sympathetically, "It must have been rough. Something similar happened to my parents, a disaster that destroyed nearly everyoner they knew."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez nods. "A scientist was working on a way to save lives in the event of the city sinking due to climate change. His formula contained DNA from Aquaman. When the chunk of San Diego sunk into the sea, so was his fomula. It didn't affect everyone. Only about a thousand or so of us. It sounds like a lot but, Honestly, there were a lot of people that didn't survive. Far more then a thousand. I was 12. Only a little girl when suddenly I found out I could breathe under water. Aquaman brought me here to help me adjust and cope. For a long time the people here looked at me funny. They don't trust surface dwellers. Genetically, I am both Atlantean and Human. I can survive on the surface for a while but I always have to return. Its pretty at least. Lots of things to see that I took for granted when I was a surface dweller."

Miss Martian has posed:
"I would suppose you should be grateful to that scientist," comments M'gann. "I have pieced together that one was responsible for destroying Mars. A Scientist who was stripped of his telepathy after committing a mental crime...he created a virus that spread from mind to mind, turning the people of Mars into raging monsters who killed each other and nearly all life on mars and smashed nearly all traces of Martian Civilization. Only a handful of persons, like my parents, born naturally mind blocked or mind blocked for crimes, managed to survive." M'gann has concluded there is a strong chance that the mad scientist was actually her father, but she is uncertain. She keeps that though hidden though.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez looks at M'gann and frowns, "I'm sorry that happened. It sounds horrible to have that sort of thing happen. I couldn't imagine how it would be to have that blocked out. My telepathic abilities aren't the strongest. Right now I can talk to fish mostly. Whales, dolphins and other larger sealife are harder. The more capacity for intelligence the harder it is for me. I'm still learning though."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "I was born decades after the Death of Mars, it is not something I know about personally. On Mars, there was almost nothing left alive, I had to hunt sometimes for days for every scrap of food. Fortunately I do not need much...there is such a ricjnmess of life here! This world is amazing."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez nods and smiles a little, "Here there is plenty of food. You won't have to go hungry, thats for sure. When I'm in the water I don't really eat too much in the traditional sense. Gills after all." she shrugs, "I still like to eat when I go to the Surface but that is very odd to me.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann nods sagely, "It is amazing how much they WASTE. Not to mention how many people live so close together. The surface is odd to me too." M'gann examined Lorena when she assumed her form, she understands about the krill filters that derive food from the water with every breath...and least in areas with sufficient microform life.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez nods with wide eyes. "Holy crap do surface dwellers love their waste. They throw out so much and a lot of it ends up in the sea. Thats part of why the Atlanteans really don't like the surface dwellers. They junk thier... my home." She blushes a little bit. "Don't even get me started on the Hudson. I feel like I need a shower after swimming there."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann shakes her head sadly, "Hopefully they learn reason before they destroy their world as we did ours." OK, so it would not be the same WAY of destroying the world, but destroyed is destroyed.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez nods, "Agreed. Its part of why I want to become a more seen hero type. So people will listen when I say that they are destroying the world. I mean its really bad. The ice caps are melting and the sea is rising. Don't get my wrong, Aquaman wouldn't mind some more terrain to rule but its going to wind up hurting people a lot."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann points out, "We have records on Mars dating back millions of years, it would not be the first time there has been polar changes on Earth. It may not all, or even mostly, be the fault of the surface dwellers on that score." Well, she thinks...a lot of the records she found were incomplete.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez snickers, "Don't let the politicians up there hear you say that. They will use it as an excuse to look for more fossil fuels to burn." She sighs and runs her fingers through her hair. "Anyway, As difficult as it was to give up life on the surface, living down here has been really interesting. I mean I learned to fight. I learned to talk to fish. I even have helped people out. It's pretty cool."

Miss Martian has posed:
"I have learned a lot since coming to Earth, I have joined a local learning institution to gain knowledge od human culture and social interaction. The math and science parts are laughably simple...but that is not what I am there for."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles a little over the whole thing. "Life here is different I expect. We're probably not as advanced in some ways but in others we might be far more advanced. I dunno though because I'm not martian. Most days I barely know if I am human or Atlantean."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann notes, "That is a choice you may someday have to make. You might want to think about it before that day arrives." M'gann long ago had to decide whether to be what her biology says, and be a Pale (or White) Martian. She has chosen not to follow that path.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez shrugs, "I dunno. Choosing between humans and Atlanteans would be really difficult. The Atlanteans have become my family. They took me in when I was alone. I still call Sub Diego my home but Atlantis is a close second. Plus I have to be in the water or I could die. I can be out and about for about 2 days before it really stars affecting me but when it does... I can wind up in a really bad situation

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "Just think about it, choices have to be made, and consequences have to be lived with." Coming to Earth for example...a choice she made and is still living with.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez nods, "I do. Every day. What if someone like Aquaman's brother takes over and wants to start a war? Whose side will I take? I want to say that I won't take a side. That I will try to stop any fighting from happening. Sadly I dunno if that will happen."

Miss Martian has posed:
"So, given they are telepathic, do Atlanteans use Ideograms for information storage? It is sio much easier to learn from telepathically stored ideas than from written words," says M'gann, changing the subject.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez frowns and shakes her head. "Not all of the Atlanteans are telepathic. Only Aquaman really. It was his DNA that got fused with mine so it sorta happened with me too. Though a lot of Atlanteans use magic. Its really kinda cool to see. One of Aquaman's other helpers can manipulate water and turn it into weapons! Sometimes I think it would be cool to learn some of that stuff. I generally just use my trident though."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "It does sound interesting. Odd though, I thought there were many telepathic Atlnteans...I wonder where I got that idea."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez looks at M'gann and shrugs, "Don't take my word for it. I can barely talk to the fish that way!" She giggles a little. "I've got a lot to learn about the whole telepathy thing. It is strange to me really."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "I have a lot to learn too, though probably not the same things you need to know as I am starting with a different base. I can sense life easily and across vast distances, but I have trouble NOT reading minds as I am not very used to keeping thoughts out."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "Well then, I guess this is the start of a good friendship!" She snickers a little, "How about we get back to the surface. Don't want to test your shifting too much. I mean, maybe. Someday we might go to the trench. Then you can test your ability to go deep. I know how deep I can go, I can get to the bottom but not without some light. The pressure is really crazy. It's like the full weight of the ocean is on you and ay dios mio is it intense."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "There are a lot of things I have yet to learn, but I am in no hurry. My species lives some 3000 of your years on the average, I have a lot of time to learn."

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "I dunno how long I will life. Atlanteans have longer lives then Humans and well, I dunno!" She giggles a little. "Still, Lets head back." She starts swimming back to Metropolis. She smirks a little and takes off a bit faster then before!

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann follows Lorena, though she does not move any faster than before...her shape shifting is superficial in some ways. Except things like claws or extra arms that are gross anatomical chandes with direct effect, she really does not change her abilities much for a given form.

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez slows up and drops back with M'gann, "Sorry I was just being a little playful ya know?" I don't have too many friends down here that aren't really... fish." She blushes. Speaking of which a school of fish come swimming around the two.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann sighs, "I have a lot to learn about having friends." That is nothing less than the truth...

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "You and me both. The only real friends I've had since things happened have been fish and Aquaman. I need to make some new friends. So I did!" She smiles a little. "Want to get a pizza?"

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann says, "Well, I have tried Pizza. I prefer the meat lover's personally. I have a thing for fatty foods...Buttered Popcorn is fabulous!"

Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez) has posed:
Lorena Marquez smiles, "Okay Meat Lover's Pizza it is!" She smiles, "Not like I won't burn it off." she giggles and leads the way to the shore and towards a nice little pizzaria.
