A victim of an unfortunate circumstance, Lorena Marquez was just a normal girl who happened to wind up in the wrong place at the wrong time. After being exposed to the DNA of a certain well known undersea dweller, She was left to drown, Little did she know that her body was altered and became much more Atlantean. Now as Aquagirl, She fights to make the world a better place.

ATLANTEAN PHYSIOLOGY

Exposure to the Serum has caused Lorena to develop a much more Atlantean physiology. Her body is much more dense, able to withstand the pressures of the deepest parts of the ocean. She has a modified respiratory system which includes gills allowing her to breathe under water. She is also much stronger.

ENHANCED SPEED

Lorena is able to swim at about 100mph. On land she can move much faster then a normal human, upwards of 150mph as well as having enhanced agility.

ENHANCED STRENGTH

Due to her Physiology Lorena is much stronger able to lift upwards of 60 tons with ease.

TELEPATHY

Aquagirl is still getting the hang of this. She can speak with fish with ease, as well as other sea life. She has trouble with Sea mammals and is not able to use this on humans at this time. She has the potential but she is nowhere near ready to do this.

Having learned from her family, Cooking is a skill that she treasures but doesn't get to use much. She loves cooking for those around her when she isn't underwater.

DETECTIVE WORK

Lorena is a Natural when it comes to Detective work. She is likely not at good as Batman or even Nightwing but she is good at it and can figure things out very well.

HAND TO HAND COMBAT

Lorena knows how to fight hand to hand. She uses her enhanced strength very well. She also uses this to help her cope with her past.

TRIDENT FIGHTING

Lorena has learned to use the Atlantean Trident (Not the one Aquaman uses!).

ATLANTIS

This is her second home! Aquaman and a number of other Atlanteans helped her to recover after the sinking of Sub Diego. They taught her to fight and still help her when she needs it.

SUB DIEGO

This is her home. When she needs a place to go to be alone, this is as good a place as any.

WATER

The Most Plentiful substance on Earth! There is enough here to make sure she doesn't dehydrate which actually is a very real threat for her now. More so then it was when she was a normal human.

DEHYDRATION

While Dehydration is a very real threat for most anyone, It's even more of one for her. She is able to be out of the water for up to a day. At which point she begins to dehydrate. If she is out of water for 36 hours she becomes delerious and runs the risk of dying due to dehydration.

NIGHTMARES

For a young woman, Lorena has seen enough to make a soldier need a lot of therapy. She has seen the deaths of thousands of people and this was when she was a pre-teen. She has nightmares about it and often will wonder off alone to deal with her memories.

THE SURFACE

Spending so much time with those in the sea has caused her to be a little leary of Surface dwellers. It's not that she hates surface dwellers because she used to be one. Its that she now knows first hand the damage they are doing to her new home, the ocean and as such, she really doesn't trust them too easily.
