Wednesday we have snow!
Date of Scene: 04 November 2021
Location: Mel's Diner - Breakstone
Synopsis: A late Wednesday evening turn into a late night snack and information sharing. Sorta.
Cast of Characters: Sarah Connor, Hunori Seong, Thomas Raith, Hannibal King, Cameron

Sarah Connor has posed:
Wednesday Sarah had switched her weekend for Wednesday. Not that she wanted to, after all the weekends were big tips. Compared to the middle of the week? But something had come up.

The weather kept getting worse as the time went on, until the rain had turned to snow and covered everything. Sure it looked nice now, but Sarah imagined is wouldn't be that nice when she got off at eleven.

Right now she was cleaning up the last table from late night diner.

Hunori Seong has posed:
Heroics were a tiring business...but lets be honest, the hours weren't that much worse than her 'day job' either. Seong Hunori, or 'Hunni' as she was often called was happy to take the gap in time to relax, recharge and get something to eat!

With her deep blue hoodie jacket pulled around her shoulders for warmth the korean youth pushed her way into the diner, looking about and inhaling the scent of food and drink alike.

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith knows all about Wednesdays. As a Club owner, if he had to pick a day not to open his doors it would rank #2 on the list, chasing Tuesday by only a small margin. the fact is he's not /at/ the Blue Lady this late simply because he doesn't need to be there. He'd instead been out doing a bit of early Christmas browsing when the snow started and he decided a hot cup of coffee was in order..

Hannibal King has posed:
Hannibal King spent a lot of time down in Bludhaven. There was a reason that both the Midnight Sons and the Scooby Gang made it their home. But he actually lived just over 10 miles from Mel's Diner. Sure, it was in the opposite direction he usually liked to go, but the food was good, and the company even better.

Walking through the door, he preferred to keep late hours, he made a point of brushing the snow off his shoes against the carpet, and looked to see how busy things were before approaching the central podium to ask for a table.

Sarah Connor has posed:
"I'll be with you in a second! Take your pick of seats." Sarah put on her waitress face, and walked the dirty dishes into the kitchen. In just five minutes she was back, and pulled out a menu. "Hi! I'll come back and take your order. Coffee?" In this weather she assumed coffee, she asked Hunori.

The diner's bells announced other arrivals. "Just take whatever table.. oh!" And she looked, not once, but twice at the door. Apparently she recognized them. "Alone or together?"

Probably alone, but you never can tell.

Hunori Seong has posed:
Quick to claim a booth for herself, Sarah's approach is met with a bright smile as she nods to the offer of coffee... only to blink at the question of if she was alone or not and look over her shoulder spotting Thomas before she flushes and gives a wave of her hand. "Oh no," she speaks in accented but otherwise perfect english. "Just me."

Hannibal's arrival a moment later behind her earns a polite smile and nod, apparently she'd gotten in just as others had decided the place looked good. Probably a good sign!

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith offers a slight smirk as well as an nod to the man who arrived a few seconds behind him. He studies Sarah for a moment, trying to place her among the hundreds of people he meets, not to mention dozens of women he flirts with, in his role at the Blue Lady. Of course he's not wearing the antique suit of the "Man-in-White" either so she might not recognize her either. He smiles at her winningly however. "Separate, but I'm just here for coffee, go ahead and get him seated first."

Hannibal King has posed:
Hannibal King wore a white dress shirt, blue and black striped tie, which was loose around his neck, and beige trousers, underneath that light trench coat. Dressed like that, he could easily pass for John Constantine or Castiel. Curiously, he wore no gloves, no hat, and didn't seem too concerned about the cold conditions he had just walked out of.

He nodded back to Thomas and Hunori, "separate or together, it's all the same to me, long as the food is good. I'm so hungry I could eat a horse. So I'll definitely be needing a menu, and..." he looked at a watch on his right hand, "let me know if there's anything that would upset the cook. Sorry to burst in a little before closing." To the others, he offered, "name's Hannibal, Hannibal King."

Sarah Connor has posed:
Of course! The food here was good. Even if it was a little greasy.

"Oh, sorry. Not to you. I just thought.. You know? It makes no difference. I'll bring you a coffee and you look over the menu."

Once the coffee was poured and delivered to Hunori, Sarah picked up two menus, but overhears Thomas (she recognized him) saying "just coffee". Good thing she has two hands as she picks up the coffee pot and pours him a cup. Bending just a little bit closer, she tells him, "No bouncers? Have you any weapons on you?"

She winks, and goes over to Hannibal. "We usually close after the bars do." She shrugs. "There's a nice booth over here." And she nods in the general direction of Hunori. Easier to keep up with multiple tables in the same side of the restaurant. "Do you want coffee while you choose?"

Hunori Seong has posed:
Ah, she'd been rude. Crap.

"Oh, uh...you can sit with me of you like! I'm just here to get something to eat and drink," Hunni offers and makes to sit herself down properly at the booth offered by Sarah.

"Seong Hunori," she offers before giving a little shrug, "Or just 'Hunni' is fine. And I'm -super- hungry too."

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith grins @emit That little comment immediately jogs Thomas' memory and he smirks a bit. "Not this time, though I've been told that my smile can be pretty dangerious." He says taking the coffee gratefully and smirking as he offer's her a $10 bill, likely more the a 200% tip on just a cup of coffee... but it's in Thomas' nature to be generous... particularly with beautiful women who like to carry guns. He quickly adds cream, and pretty much every pack of sugar in one of those little boxes they put them in and smiles. "You should drop by the Club again soon, Class up the place." He offers with a grin.

Hannibal King has posed:
Sarah had mistakenly thought that they were together, or at least raised the possibility, and Hannibal King had seen it as a social possibility, so he tested to see if the others would be up for making new friends, or prefer to quietly eat alone. There was nothing wrong with either option, but Hannibal was a social creature, so he would always gravitate towards forming groups. "Nice to meet you Hunni," he offered his hand. It seemed that Thomas might not be joining them. And to Sarah, he nodded at the offer of coffee, planning on paying for it at the end, rather than piece by piece.

Sarah Connor has posed:
Seong Hunori. With all the Asian names, and languages, Sarah was wishing she had learned one of those. Perhaps she still could learn.

"I can always bring you the triple burger, complete with fries and onion rings. It's our biggest seller after two for the late crowd?" She didn't think Hunori was a drinker, but she did say hungry!

She lets Hannibal decide to join or not join as he wished. And as soon as he decides she pour him a coffee.

Thomas gets a small smile. "Maybe I will. After all, someone should make your bouncers earn their pay." She pours him a cup of coffee. Not that she goes to the clubs very often.

Providing Hunori take her suggestions, there is only Hannibal to write down his order.

Hunori Seong has posed:
A good guess in regards to drinking, Hunni nods her head to the offer of the tripple burger, fries and onion rings. Already she'd come to realise how much bigger food servings were in the states but...well, she was all for it tonight.

"Nice to meet you too," she greets Hannibal before looking over to Sarah. "Do you get many customers at this hour?"

Hannibal King has posed:
"I'll have a double bacon cheeseburger, hold the vegetables. Just mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup on it, and a side of spicy curly fries. Oh, and an Oreo shake to go with it." Yeah, they were going to have to wheel him out the door after all that, but he was in the mood. He looked to Sarah at Hunni's question, curious about it himself.

Sarah Connor has posed:
In a little bit, the food was prepared and ready to come out.

"Now let me see. One triple burger for you, and a take container." For Hunori, of course. "And a double cheeseburger, hold the sides. Just mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Curly fries. And an Oreo shake on the side." And she said them, she put them down.

"Not many in the middle of the week.We get some, depending on what time of year. The weekends are just crazy at any time of year." Sarah shrugs. "This isn't my regular shift though. Usually I take the afternoon shift over lunch." She was good. Really good. She could remember everyone's order and dish it out quickly. So she didn't smile as prettily as some of the girls did, she had other skills.

Hunori Seong has posed:
A little shift and widening of her eyes. Hungry or not, she was probably going to have leftovers!

Still she moves to claim the first fries for herself, devouring them readily and then taking the burger in her hands. It's either definately a thing that she was needing to eat more thanks to her transformations, or maybe she was just hungry as hell from the all the walking around.

"I can imagine," she chuckles as between bites, nodding to Sarah's explaination of shifts and then looking back. "Halloween in this country was certainly much bigger than at home. It was a lot of fun, but I guess it would be busy for a place like this."

The brunette youth looks back to her fellow customer and tilts her head to the side. "So what do you do for a living Hannibal?" she questions. Small talk in English, it was meant to be a good form of practice!

Hannibal King has posed:
Hannibal's eyes seemed to bug out at the size of the burger placed before him on the table. He subconsciously licked his lips as it had just the right amount of grease to be eminently appetizing. He took his napkin, draping it over his lap, and began to eat, chewing and swallowing before speaking again. With another customer coming in, the wind seemed to howl, and it let in a terrible draft. Turning to Sarah, he asked, "I don't know when your shift is over, but if you need a ride home in this, let me know. It's not safe for man or beast in that." To Hunni, he explained, "oh, I'm a private investigator. Here, let me see if I have a card." He would fish through pockets and provide one for her. Then he asked, after another bite, chew, and swallow, "what did you dress up for on Halloween, Hunni. You too Sarah?"

Sarah Connor has posed:
"Nowadays it's a commercial exploit." Sarah fills up the salt and pepper shakers. "I've heard it said that down south of the border they still treat the Day of the Dead more ritually."

When she says it she uses an inflection that almost makes her seem like a native. Only a native would know that she wasn't.

To Hannibal she nodded. "My shift is done." Mind you she had her pickup, but she needed to speak with him. Any old excuse would do, even if it was a lie.

Sarah was good at lying.

Hunori Seong has posed:
A little frown to the talk of commercialization, but the girl does shrug between bites of her burger. "The candy is nice though."

What did she dress up as for halloween? The young woman can't help but muse that her normal powers basically left her with a 'costume' every day.

"I dressed up as a 'cute witch'," she offers, gesturing to herself. "Orange socks, a fun skirt...even had the hat."

The card was taken, a little noise equivlent to an 'Oooh' given as she takes it. "A PI huh? Just like the TV shows?"

Cameron has posed:
The door to the diner opened, allowing a young woman with dark hair to enter. Cameron was dressed in a pair of jeans, a black tank top with a denim jacket in a light shade of blue than the jeans. A glance around the room then she headed toward a booth, giving a nod to Sarah in passing to acknowledge her presence.

Likely a regular who spent time since she went straight for a booth two from the corner of the room and settled in comfortably. She didn't bother picking up the menu, lending to the probability if her having been here often enough to know what she wants.

Hannibal King has posed:
"Well, in that case, why don't you pull up a chair, assuming of course that dining here isn't frowned upon, or that working here has led your appetite... in other directions." Yes, he put that diplomatically, just in case her manager could overhear it. He didn't want to suggest that she might disparage her place of employment. He nodded to Hunori, although her interest in his profession seemed to be greater than his own. Sometimes he had to venture into thesewer, to the dump, and other places, in the course of being a private investigator. He had to spend cold nights out in the rain. It was never as glamorous as Hollywood made it out to be.

"Something like that," is all he said on the matter. Cameron did catch his attention, and he watched her walk to her booth. But he did not longer. "I decided to go as a pedestrian myself. I thought about going as the invisible man, but didn't feel like going au natural. I had looked into dressing up as Green Lantern, or Deadpool, but then I remembered that Green Lanterns are basically space cops, and it's probably against some law to impersonate a space cop. And I just didn't want to get on Deadpool's bad side, or his good side. I've heard that if he notices you, it's bad. Best to keep a low profile."

Sarah Connor has posed:
Ah yes, he *was* a Private Investigator . Moreso then she was a waitress.

She put the last of the salt and pepper shaker back, and nodded to Mary who had begun her shift. "Want a coffee Sarah?" Mary poured one regardless

"Thanks. These two came in just prior to your shift." Really, they'd arrived on Sarah's shift, but by phrasing it 'your' instead of 'mine' she was tacitly letting Mary have their tips. Besides, Thomas gave her a large tip.

"You want?" And Sarah lifted her chin towards Cameron.

"No worries. The usual, right?" Mary is used to Cameron coming and going, especially when Sarah was working. And she took Cameron's order.

Hunori Seong has posed:
"I can't imagine what Deadpool looks like, but I'd never thought about the Lanterns like that..." Hunni muses, looking up at Cameron's arrival with a friendly enough smile.

A little shift to down a few more fries, looking between the pair when it becomes hinted that Cameron and Sarah know each other.

"Friend of yours? She can join us if you like."

Hannibal King has posed:
"Pretty much Spider-Man, except he's black and red instead of blue and red." Hannibal explained Deadpool's look, "plus, guns, and swords, and he's pretty mouthy, unlike yours truly." Because Hannibal King was downright sombre compared to Deadpool. Nodding along, "any friend of yours is a friend of mine," perfectly fine allowing Cameron to join them. Although he may well live to regret that invitation. He would quietly slip some money to Sarah, a tip, since he was going to be paying Mary for his actual order. He'd still tip her, just wanted to make sure Sarah got hers too.

Cameron has posed:
The smile from Hunori as Cameron passed was met with a brief smile of her own. Then she reached her table.

As Mary approached, Cameron gave a friendly smile. "Thanks. Just the usual." Which consisted of a cheeseburger then onion rings. Sometimes she would switch it up for fries. But mostly she liked the onion rings. Along with a cola of whatever brand they happened to carry here.

She did pull out a phone and start scanning through something on it.

Sarah Connor has posed:
"Hrm?" Sarah looked over to Hunori. "She's in here often enough." Not quite an answer. But neither was it a lie. It left it up to Cameron how much she wanted to tell. "She usually has a cheeseburger and.. what was it today Mary?"

Mary answered back.

"I was right. Onion rings." It caused her to almost smile to herself. Cameron was such a creature of habits. Of course Sarah was more adept at seeing her that way. Terminators were like that.

"Who's that? Deadpool? Never heard of him."

Hunori Seong has posed:
"Oh, okay..." Hunori murmers, apparently convinced by Sarah's not quite lie that she'd misread things.

Another bite, more devouring of her meal...but the small brunette wasn't exactly making a huge dent in the meal.

"Well, at least it means that the food must be pretty popular, to keep coming back."

Hannibal King has posed:
"Deadpool is a mercenary. Wannabe mutant. Annoying as they come. His nickname is the Merc with the Mouth. Damnable thing is, when he wants to be, he's actually the pinnacle of his profession, right up there with Black Widow, Deathstroke," he named a few other names that he knew of, but weren't as well known. Seems he had a finger on that particular pulse. "But most of the time, he's a clown. Whatever gets you up in the morning, I guess."

Perhaps he had forgot that while he knew Sarah knew about this stuff, Hunni may not have. But he had identified himself as a private investigator, so that could potentially cover the sensitive information he was freely distributing here. He took another bite of his burger, chewing, swallowing, and then some of those delicious spicy curly fries, only to wash them down with his Oreo milkshake.

Sarah Connor has posed:
"One of those." Was all Sarah had to say about Deadpool. "Actually, what could you say about SHIELD? I've heard about them. Just curious." She turns around fully in her seat at the diners, facing the others, drinking her coffee."

Sure she still would get John to check them out, but two sources were better than one.

Hannibal King has posed:
Hannibal King said between bites of his burger, "The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division? Never heard of it." And he smiled, clearly enjoying his meal, and not at all concerned that a S.H.I.E.L.D. sniper might send some lead up his butt for revealing what he knew about them. Demons, Vampires, and Werewolves didn't scare him, but S.H.I.E.L.D. did.

Cameron has posed:
When her food is delivered, Cameron does look up long enough to give a smile to the waitress. No murmured thank you but the look should be enough. At least that's what she's learned from watching others. Besides, Mary is used to her by now.

She goes back to focusing on her phone while picking up her burger to take a bite. Chewing thoughtfully while eavesdropping since she could hear the other people at their table even at this distance.

Sarah Connor has posed:
Oh, that did it. Sarah knew full well Hannibal was keeping things to himself. He proved it by listing off the name without the acronym. She levelled her gaze on him. "Really?" A pause. "They know about you."

Do they? Maybe. Sarah had been talking with the agents "off the record" so to speak. She could have mentioned Hannibal..

(She didn't.)

Hunori Seong has posed:
There was actually a little flick of recognition there for Hunni, a sudden and perhaps not nearly as subtle moment of her sitting up at that mention.

After all, the rookie heroine had managed to go on several missions as a trainee and get seconded with some support to some of the Avengers a little while ago. The name had very much been thrown around.

Hannibal King has posed:
Without missing a beat, Hannibal asked Sarah, "oh, and what would your friends in the Triskelion know about little old me?" He took another bite of the burger, the last bite, though he still had a few curly fries.

Sarah Connor has posed:
Sarah smiled sweetly. "I don't think you want that blabbed about, do you, Hannibal?"

Whether or not she talked about him with SHIELD, he certainly didn't want his secrets.. the ones she knew about.. bandied about.

"Never mind. I thought that you'd know about them." She was, up till recently, in the jungles, and in the secure mental hospital. "Do you know anything about them, Hunori?"

Hunori Seong has posed:
Given her heroic identity was a secret and her 'public' identity spent a fair bit of time in front of a camera? Hunni actually hesitates for a moment there, considering what to actually say before shrugging.

"They work with Captain America and the Avengers, right? Have those really cool airship things?"

Well played Hunni...or at least that's what she told herself as she finished off her burger.

Hannibal King has posed:
"I kind of want one of those airship things. No more traffic. Just flying above it, no gridlock, no traffic jams, no detours, or roadwork, no accidents. Yeah, I have to get me one of those airship things. I bet that needs special training. And costs a pretty penny too. So much for that dream."

Sarah Connor has posed:
"A man named Clint Barton stopped in for late lunch. He left early. Someone was shooting up the place." All true. All verifiable. "I just wondered what happened to him."

Sarah didn't say she had run out the back. And certainly left out her involvement with the shooting (or so it did seem) in the back alley. According to Clint the man managed to slip away.

Not true.

Sarah had killed the Terminator. And stuffed him in the bin to come back at midnight and destroy the corpse.

"I really don't know about them. Just him." And the others: Wendell and Bobbi.

Cameron has posed:
Thus far, the information they were receiving wasn't really beyond what they already knew. Cameron continued to eat her burger, at times alternating to the munch an onion ring. All the time, she just seemed like a person watching their phone, an ear bud in her left ear if anyone looked. Maybe videos or a movie.

At the rate they were going, they might need to go to a more drastic means.

Her mind began calculating how difficult it might be to kidnap a SHIELD agent to get information. Of course, Sarah and John probably wouldn't approve...

Sarah Connor has posed:
What Sarah didn't say was the body was gone when she had come back. Even Clint didn't know. Unless he was responsible. And that was what Sarah was trying to find out. After all, Hannibal was a PI, wasn't he? He might know a way around the front door, into the back door.

"Oh well. I tried." She let them think she was worried about Clint. "Oh, by the way, Hannibal, Faith was asking you to keep an eye on the neighborhood." A very particular piece of the neighborhood. "Don't try them alone. She just wants an extra pair of eyes."
