Profile

Cameron is a Terminator, a machine created to look human in order to infiltrate their kind and kill them. Fortunately, she got better. Or to be more accurate, she was reprogrammed by the future John Connor, of her time. He sent her back in time to protect his younger self from the machines Skynet sent back to destroy him.

Description:

She looks like the girl next door really. Brown hair, brown eyes, a slim figure. Pretty perhaps in the eyes of some. She's in good shape though, a touch athletic. She stands at 5'6" and looks about 120 lb though a scale would show that number is a bit low.

She wears comfortable clothes more often than not. Jeans or summer dresses, depending on the weather.

History

History:

Cyber Research Systems Model 715 Series 900 Infiltration-Combat Unit. That is what she started out as. A machine created to infiltrate the human Resistance fighting against Skynet. She was given a specific model, one that was not used before nor after, making her unique in her kind. This outside appearance was based on a human female named Allison Young.

Allison's early life had been normal until Judgement Day. Then she was thrown into the mayhem that followed. In time, she ended up with the Resistance and there met the man named John Connor. Time passed and they became friends. She was younger than him but an adult, despite her appearance. As time passed, feelings deepened. He was the love of her life. And then she was captured.

Model 715 Series 900 was involved in the interrogation, working for days to learn all there was about Allison. She had all the information in Skynet's database and was able to get more from the woman herself. It was brutal but efficient and in time, the machine was ready. It destroyed the original human since she was no longer needed. Then she returned to the Resistance, her cover story having been her escape.

It might have worked for a time but John knew Allison too well. The machine was captured, shut down and then reprogrammed by John to be an ally instead of an enemy. Much to the chagrin of many of his lieutenants.

Cameron was born when the chassis was reactivated. That was the name she had been given as she certainly was not Allison. She was used to help the resistance, to fight other machines. But due to her appearance, her being so much Allison in so many ways, John allowed her to become his friend. Even his confidante in time. It caused much muttering in the ranks but John would have none of it.

But when Skynet began to target his younger self for destruction as the Humans were about to win the war, John made one of the most difficult decisions of his life. He chose to send back a protector again. But this time, it was Cameron. He made sure she had detailed information and instructions. The only orders she had to listen to were his, not those of his younger self. She had her mission parameters, and she did what he wished, though she was self-aware and could have rebelled. It was to make sure that this came to be, that their time would exist. Somewhere or somewhen.

She appeared when planned to give her time to prepare. She worked to create her identity, establishing herself as a student at a school. In time, she met John. A young version of himself. A teenager. Her programming was to get close to him, become a friend, even a girlfriend, so she would be around him as much as possible. Another Terminator attacking John in a classroom destroyed that plan and she was forced to reveal herself to save John's life, saying those infamous words, "Come with me if you want to live." From that point, things escalated quickly but she explained her mission. Perhaps due to his experiences with Uncle Bob, John was far more receptive than his mother. Yet, Cameron was taken in and when they set up their next aliases, she became his sister for their cover.

They've dealt with many threats and moved a lot in the time they have been together. Young John often tries to gain information about the future but her instructions from his future self do not allow her to answer them. In fact, sometimes she has to lie to keep the information hidden.

She is still a learning machine and she has some sort of overlay of Allison in her programming, which has come to the fore in the past and she didn't remember anything. Thankfully she was repaired but that time colors who she is still. She's even turned on John after being damaged. They managed to get her shut down and then John insisted on powering her back up. When he did, her primary programming was to kill him. Which she promptly ignored and turned off, going back to being a protector.

Personality

Personality:

For Cameron, it depends on the role she is having to play. She does have the Allison personality programmed in and it can be fallen back on when needed. That personality is friendly, outgoing, quick with a smile. She also has feelings for John Connor as that was part of the person that was copied to create this personality.

When not needing to play the role, Cameron tends to be a little bit cool and distant. She is more detail focused and calculating, fitting with what she really is underneath the human exterior. Her purpose is to protect John and she takes it very seriously. Sometimes too seriously and she has to be pulled back to maintain the morality that humans expect. Yet, there have been times where she has shown emotions and humor which hint there is more to the machine. As she experiences and learns more, this may alter as well.

Abilities

Durability:
Terminators are designed so they are extremely hard to disable. They are made to withstand explosions and harsh conditions. They were fighting humans and thus the weapons most humans use were accounted for in that design. She can take any number of small caliber rounds. Large caliber or explosive rounds will damage her exterior, but her inner metallic endoskeleton will remain intact. Explosives in the right amounts and location of her body may damage her but they would have to be extreme levels. A car bomb just messed up her skin and rattled her enough her programming was damaged, but she still walked away from it. She can be hit by a car traveling at speed and get up. Of course, the outer skill will be damaged, though it is a bit tougher than human skin at least. On the whole, she could be considered around the twenty-ton range for durability although admittedly the joints are more susceptible to attacks of a lower range.

Healing:
Terminators have skin and blood hiding their true metallic forms. This is how they can pretend to be humans and infiltrate more easily. If they are cut, they bleed, though perhaps not on the level a human might depending on the wound as they have less blood to lose. Cameron goes one beyond in that her skin will heal. Even from wounds that normally would leave extreme scars on a person. When she was heavily damaged in an explosion, she used staples to bind the wounds together until she was able to heal which only took about a week. There has to be flesh left to heal though. If it is removed entirely, they cannot gain it back without some extreme measures such as synthetically having their type of skin recreated in a lab (or pseudo lab) setting.

Learning Machine:
Terminators can have their programming altered to allow them to learn. It helps them to be better infiltrators. They can see and learn. They can mimic. They can make plans outside their programming when necessary to adapt to a situation beyond their control. For Cameron, this is even furthered by the fact she is self-aware.

Mimicry:
Terminators are able to mimic the voices of anyone they have heard. It helps them to track down the humans they hunt by arranging for meetings over phones or radio communications. It also allows them to play back conversations they have heard by speaking the various parts. This level of mimicry would be enough to fool voice recognition software.

Photographic Memory:
Being a machine at her core, Cameron has a photographic memory. She remembers everything she sees, hears, experiences perfectly. She has used this in the past when she was able to repeat verbatim things said by others, in their own voices at that thanks to her mimicry abilities. She likes to add to this knowledge when she has the opportunity by going to the library at night and reading.

Self-Aware:
Like the later model T-1000 and Skynet itself, Cameron is self-aware. She has free will in some ways, able to chose to ignore her programming if she chooses to do so. This was exhibited when she glitched and after being rebooted by the John, chose to ignore the directive to terminate him. It was a conscious choice and shows she has her own reasons to do what she does. It isn't just programming.

Sensors:
Cameron has a vast array of sensors of varying types. Most times, she has a HUD that shows her information about her surroundings and anyone or thing in that area. It can pick up threats such as weapons and give her warning about them, if they are within her line-of-sight.

She can use this to monitor humans and get details about them, from heartbeat to breathing patterns to temperature, and everything in between. She has even been able to track the changes in a person and be able to suggest they may have cancer, simply from the physical signs. She can tell if a person lies, if they are not skilled enough to have no physical reactions, through various biometrics. It is a combination of observation, experience and the sensors that help her draw conclusions.

She has better hearing than a human, allowing her to hear sounds that are out of their range and thus reacting to threats more quickly. It allows her to track someone walking on the opposite side of a wall and potentially intercept them, even through the wall if she needs to make an entrance/exit to do so.

Strength:
Being she is not human, but a hunter-killer machine created to destroy humans, she has a metallic endoskeleton. As such, she has a set strength level. The good news is she does not have to worry about pulling a tendon or ligament if she tries to lift something too heavy. The bad news is she will not be able to work out to get stronger. The only way to give her higher strength is if they obtain the right materials and can upgrade her. Her high end is two tons. This also allows her to run at a speed of 30 mph.

Terminator:
"I'm a cybernetic organism, living tissue over metal endoskeleton." Uncle Bob, "Terminator 2"

Terminators are metallic hunter-killers created by Skynet to destroy humans. They have a layer of flesh over their metallic inner skeleton and parts, so that they can appear human. This flesh is not required for them to be able to function but is necessary for them to be able to look like more than a machine or to be able to travel to the past. Cameron is specifically a Series 900 Infiltration-Combat Unit, Model 715. Series means the type of endoskeleton she has, and the Model is the physical appearance of it. Model 715 looks like Allison Young, the freedom fighter she was created to replace to gain access to the Resistance.

They have a power core that will last for 120 years before it has to be replaced. They also have a chip that holds their programming, personality if applicable, memories, and everything that makes that Terminator who they are. This chip can be moved from one Terminator machine to another if needed, should the chip survive but the chassis be destroyed.

Unique:

Cameron is unique. While there have been other T-900s, she is the one that has been altered by John Connor and is based off a human he was friends with, perhaps even more. She is different in she is able to eat/drink, has a sense of feel beyond the feeling of damage (she enjoyed the feel of the wind when she put her feet out the window of a moving car). She has emotions or at least seems to at times, as when she cried and begged John not to deactivate her because she loved him. While T-800 can never cry, it is something she can do and has done on several occasions. She is far more human than most Terminators.

Skills

Acting:
This is a necessity for a machine pretending to be human. Although around her "family" she doesn't bother with the pretense. When she is out in the world, she has to pretend to be a person. She sometimes does not get nuances and comes off a little weird. Yet she has convinced social workers, dance teachers, psychiatrists, and employers of her humanity in the past, so the skills set is there.

Ballet:
While trying to track down information, Cameron took a ballet class. She proved to be a natural, thanks to her skills as a Terminator to mimic movements of others. She could actually pass as a professional if she chose. However, it turned out to be something more. She found she likes dancing, though ballet is her favorite. She has been known to dance when she alone. Why a machine would dance is confusing for others who know she does. After all, dance is an outward expression of the soul. Machines don't have those, right?

Combat:
While she was created for infiltration, she is still a Terminator and is also created to fight and destroy humans. As such, she is skilled in many forms of unarmed combat. Unlike some of the earlier models, she is trained on a range of fighting techniques, including Eastern Martial Arts that allow her to make up for her smaller size against opponents.

Driving:
Cameron is able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles. She would be comparable with a person trained in extreme defensive driving techniques though not quite on the level as a stunt driver.

Future History:
Cameron knows the future. Or at least a future. She knows what happens and when. She knows details and information that can help in keeping John safe. Yet this knowledge of the future is something she cannot use like some might think. She was given orders by future John Connor on what she can and cannot reveal to other people. She even has permission to lie to conceal information. This can be as sticking point with others since she will not always give a straight answer, or she will give no answer at al when people ask about what is to happen.

Human Anatomy:
While it is the dark side of what she is, Cameron knows everything about human anatomy. This is because she was created to kill them. To do so, she needed to know their vulnerabilities. To say she knows the most efficient way of killing a human being is applicable. Also, her sensors can pick up things humans cannot about themselves, even able to hypothesize that a human's cancer had come back due to other physical symptoms he was suffering.

That knowledge can be used for good as well. It's just not what she was originally designed to do. With her knowledge and sensors, she may need tests to confirm but she can come up with a diagnosis at times like a doctor. She can even help treat traumatic wounds in the field, though this is more EMT/Paramedic/Field medic level and not truly a surgeon.

Languages:
Cameron has been programmed to speak all Earth languages, barring dialects that might be used by small tribes or the like. If it is a language common to a country, she can speak it. It was something that was part of her original programming that was copied over to her new, to allow for that additional assistance when they met other resistance fighters who might not speak English.

Music:
Cameron loves music. Everything from classical to rock and all in between. This may be colored by the Allison Young portion of her memory or it may be something that is pure Cameron, though it's really impossible to tell since they are so merged. Admittedly, one of her favorites is Chopin's Nocturne in C-sharp minor, which is something that was special to Allison's mother.

Repair:
Cameron knows machines, particularly her kind and other models. She knows how to modify their programming. She is able to perform self-repairs, given the tools and parts. She knows how Terminators are put together and thus, the best way to take them apart. This can be carried over to other machines as well. She can help repair everything from a dirt bike to a computer. She has a basic understanding of robotics for obvious reasons.

Survival:
Cameron has the basics needed to survive on her own on the streets. She came to this time a month before she met John Connor. In that time, she had to get clothing, create an alias for herself, get money and identification, craft school records, establish herself as a student at a school, etc. All things she did on her own. She was created as an infiltration machine so what is needed for at least a cursory job of doing that, she can handle. Full on identities with social security cards and histories that are completely foolproof? That's left to the professionals. Additionally, being from a time where resources are short and being allied with humans, she is able to find things needed to keep people alive in a crisis (or living underground hiding from machines) such as food, water, supplies, and shelter.

Tactics:
Cameron has extensive knowledge of various tactics used in combat situations. She has the base programming from the Terminators to have ideas how the machines will proceed. Then she has the programming by John as well as experience fighting by his side in the future. She knows the tactics of the Resistance, of humans, and how they have come so close to achieving victory in the future. She can think on her feet, with the speed of a computer, allowing her to analyze situations and made plans based on the information she has gained.

Terminators:
Being one herself, Cameron knows Terminators. She knows the models, their strengths, and weaknesses. She knows how best to combat each type. She is aware of the programming limitations or advancements, depending on model. She knows how they think and strategize because her programming was the same as theirs, at one time. This allows her to sometimes anticipate their actions if they are following the logical next step. Obviously, this doesn't always work.

Weapons:

Cameron knows weapons, particularly firearms, like all Terminators. She is an excellent shot and can double-wield handguns with ease, being ambidextrous since machines don't have a left or right hand dominance. She can gauge trajectories of bullets when she is firing, giving her an advantage, simply because she is a machine with far more sensory input and computing power.

She is also trained on many weapons, including knives though they really seem unnecessary except to appear more human. But if needed, she could use knives, swords, most Eastern weapons known to be used in martial arts, bows, etc.

Resources

Connor Family:
Cameron came to this time with nothing. Literally. Not even clothes thanks to how the time portal works. She took a month to establish herself as student, creating the background documents and story needed to do so, as per her programming. Now that she is with the Connors Family, she can be herself around them and she considers them allies. Even if they don't trust her, they recognize she is the best thing to have around to help fight other Terminators, so they grudgingly accept her presence. Part of her cover is she's John's sister and Sarah is her mother, with Derek being their uncle.

John Connor:
John is the only member of his family who seems to trust Cameron. He accepts her for what she is. Perhaps due to his time with Uncle Bob when he was ten, it has skewed his perception since he can see how the machines can be good at times, with the right programming. He is someone Cameron can talk to and ask questions without expecting judgement as she would from the rest of his family. He often asks her about their time in the future to which she has to give limited responses, since sometimes knowing too much is a danger. Her instructions come from future John and she is not required to follow the orders of his younger self. Due to those orders, she sometimes lies to current John.

Spare Parts:
The tech to create a Terminator is not in existence in this time. Thus, in order to be able to repair herself, Cameron keeps a number of parts from destroyed Terminators to be able to perform self-repairs when necessary. Knowing how the Connors feel about anything being left behind of a Terminator that might be able to help in the creation of Skynet, she has to hide these from everyone but John.

Weapons:

Thanks to the planning of Sarah Connor, the family has many caches of supplies hidden here or there. These include a wide array of weapons. Cameron can use most anything she can get her hands on, having a vast databank of knowledge to draw on. Her favorite are Glock 17 semi-auto handguns, which she will often double-wield. But really, they can get their hands on most anything needed for a job, including explosives.

Weaknesses

Allison Young:
Cameron has the appearance of a woman named Allison Young who had been a resistance fighter in the future. She had been someone John Connor cared for in that time. Thus, it was the perfect role for the infiltrator terminator to take. Yet, she was detected, captured, and was then reprogrammed by John Connor. Between the original info gathered and what was gained from John's additions, she basically has Allison's memories and personality locked away inside her. This will sometimes influence her actions and can cause some confusion for the machine. At one time when damaged, she actually believed herself to be Allison.

Damage Glitches:
Cameron may be a formidable model of Terminator, but she can still be damaged and destroyed. It takes a lot to damage her, such as being in a vehicle when a bomb went off destroying it completely, but it can happen. It has caused a few glitches in her system, from her turning back into a John Connor killing machine, reverting to her human mode as Allison Young and having some twitches in her arm which caused her to be unable to handle things without a chance of destroying them. Though she has been repaired each time, these things are possible.

Dogs:
Dogs were used by the Resistance when it was learned the animals could sense Terminators. And canines really don't like them. They will bark and whine, even sometimes try to attack depending on the ferocity of the dog in question. Due to their enhanced sense of smell, they can tell Metal (Terminators) when they smell them.

Electricity:
Being a machine, she is susceptible to electrical attacks though her body has been created to shut down before her chip can be destroyed in this manner. An electrical attack such as a heavy surge of power from an electrical line or a bolt of lightning will have her shut down. The system then has to reboot. It takes 120 seconds for full reboot. After that time, she will be back to functioning, though her outer body will likely have injuries from the initial attack.

Enhanced Senses:
Beings with enhances senses can likely tell Cameron is not human. Those with enhanced sense of smell may pick up on it, as dogs do. X-Ray vision will show a metal Terminator inside the human form. Even enhanced hearing may pick up the servos that drive her limbs or that her breathing/heartbeat are artificial.

Machine Death:
A Terminator can be destroyed. The two main ways are destruction of its power core, which is extremely difficult as it is in a protected chamber in the middle of the chest that cannot be reached by normal means. A terminator can be torn in half by a pipe bomb, spinal column severed, yet still continue to function with no damage to the power core. This method may not be permanent technically except the chassis. Their chip may still be moved to another body.

The second way is destruction of their chip, which can be reached far easier but still a challenge for a normal human being considering they are a killing machine designed to prey on humans. This chip is in their head in a specially shielded compartment that must be opened in a precise manner.

Additionally, Cameron has gifted John with a specially designed locket. It has a button inside, a kill switch. If she turns on him, he can simply push the button. It will set off a small explosive inside her head and destroy her chip, thus killing her. This was a gift given to him in privacy and she made sure his family was not aware.

Metal Detectors:
Though there were great advances, such as not being susceptible to magnetism or EMP attacks, the skeleton of a Terminator is still able to be picked up on a metal detector. This is the easiest way for them to be spotted should they try to enter a location with security measures checking for metal. For her cover at the high school she attends, she has a medical document (forged) explaining she has a metal plate in her head. They won't be flying commercial or getting into most government buildings.

Morality:
This is a challenge for Cameron. She does not understand the value of life, including human, and sometimes has to be kept in check by John or the others. She is more likely to consider scenarios and the need to eliminate future threats to her current programmed goal which is to keep John Connor safe. She does seem to be learning. Slowly.

Not Trusted:
No matter what she is there for, Cameron is still a Terminator machine. She was created to kill humans. Even though she has been reprogrammed, many of the Connors family cannot look beyond what she is. The fact she was once damaged enough during an explosion to go back to her original Kill-John-Connor programming doesn't help. Though she is back to her protector mode, some of them will never fully trust her and feel they would be better off without her.

Protect John:
This is her purpose. Her primary programming. She was sent back by the future John to protect his teenage self. That is all she is supposed to do. Which means if John is in danger, she will be there. Even if it means she will be destroyed doing so against a superior opponent. She will not stop trying to keep him safe until she is destroyed. The fact she is self-aware and has been able to ignore her primary programming at will but still follows this one shows it is what she wants to do as well.

Swimming:

Although she does not weigh more than a human being of her size, thanks to her metallic skeletal structure, she does not float. She does not have to breathe so she will not drown, however she cannot swim. If she were dropped into a deep body of water, she would have to walk back along the bottom to reach dry land again. In a pool, she would be alright on something inflatable but if she fell off in water over her head, she'd sink to the bottom.
