A triumphant Return
Date of Scene: 07 May 2022
Location: Hangar, Watchtower
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Zatanna Zatara, Green Lantern (Stewart)

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
It's been a while since Zatanna Zatara, Mistress of Magic, graced the halls of the Justice League Watchtower with her fishnets; She'd taken a short leave of absence from the League to deal with personal business. What that business is? No telling. Could be anything from a demonic entity that got a little handsy and needed to get taken care of, to information on her long-lost father.

Irregardless of the reasoning, here she is in civilian clothing standing in the hanger of the Watchtower, having just arrived via zeta tube rather than simply magicking herself onto the station. Rather than her usual fishnets and tophat she's wearing a pair of jeans and a graphic cut off tee proclaiming 'Black Magic Woman'. The magician runs a hand through her hair as she grimaces in the direction of the zeta tubes, and glances out the hanger doors as she shoves hands into her back pockets as she contemplates the stars almost as if waiting for someone.

Green Lantern (Stewart) has posed:
For his part, John has been... absent. Completely. From daily life in the Watchtower for... about a week? Give it take.

He's on the active roster, but has been handling Lantern Corps matters for a while, outside of League business.

As Zatanna is looking to the stars though, a small pinprick of green light can be seen cometing through Sol, heading for the Watchtower from outside the system. It's not going lightspeed, but that's definitely a moving object...

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
Zatanna Zatara has been in the superhero business long enough to have a suspicion on just what the green object streaking towards her is, even if there's an one in three chance of guessing who it is. But those kind of odds are trivial for someone of her caliber, and she doesn't seem the least bit surprised at the emerald pinprick marring the starry sky.

The dark-haired magician crosses arms over her chest, a hint of a crooked smile on her lips as she waits patiently for the arrival, head tilted to the side as she waits to see which of the Lanterns is currently on his way from the distant cosmos.

Green Lantern (Stewart) has posed:
It doesn't take too long before John is in front of the hangar and stops in mid-flight. The black man wears his unique Green Lantern uniform, and unlike the others, wears no mask... but those glowing green eyes are easily seen as he floats his way inside, lands, and the green field surrounding him vanishes.

"Fancy seeing you up here, Ms. Zatara." John notes casually as he turns to regard her, "And without the fishnets. I thought you and the Canary considered them a trademark." John quips. "Is a welcome back in order?"

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
"Shh." Zatanna puts a finger to her lip, crooked grin broadening and pale blue eyes dancing with amusement, "I'm in disguise."

She laughs, a throaty sound full of humor, before she shakes her head. "Please. Zatanna, or Zee." She tells him, tilting her head, "Or else I'll call you Mr. Stewart, which makes you sound like a super-intendant or some such." She shakes her head ruefully, adding, "Between you and I, John? The fishnets do ride up and bunch up something fierce." She spreads her hands, "Besides, from what I remember from my time on active duty it gets chilly up here."

Green Lantern (Stewart) has posed:
A look down to her jeans gets a raised brow... then he looks back up to her eyes and shrugs, "I don't mind being called Mr. Stewart, but I get your point." John concedes, before he starts to walk over to her, "Zee works for me."

There's a pause, before he continues, "Could always ask for atmospherics to turn up the temp." He stops, looks to the ring on his right hand, then looks back to Zatarra, "Of course, I always have a thin pocket of temperature control around me, so I wouldn't know if this place was chilly."

Zatanna Zatara has posed:
"I'm not so big a diva I'd demand the temperature be changed just because I'm on station." Zatanna says dryly, "Despite what the press says." The jeans are snug, tucked into boots. But given her usual attire the midriff cutoff tee and the snug jeans are almost modest. She glances at the ring, and chuckles.

"One advantage of the power ring over mysticism." She acknowledges, with an inelegant snort of amusement, "Still, I dare say I'd best get use to it; I came to volunteer for a return to active duty." She shakes her head, a touch sadly, "My personal business was a bust, unfortunately. Do you know who the active roster is? I've been out of touch for the past year or so and lost track of who's active and who's reserve."
