Pool side encounter
Date of Scene: 22 April 2023
Location: Swimming Pool - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Angelica and Dani encountered one another at the pool side and got to know each other a little better.
Cast of Characters: Firestar, Moonstar

Firestar has posed:
Sitting at the side of the pool, Angelica lets her legs hand in the water. She has on a simple, black one piece bathing suit and she watches the water ripple against her legs. Her hair seems to be dry so either she hasn't been in the water or it has been a while since she was.

Her gaze moves up towards the sky and she shakes her head at something, just looking up at the stars and the moon. A deep breath slowly exhales and she looks back to the water again.
Moonstar has posed:
Dani Moonstar walks out onto the deck near the swimming pool deep in thought. As she spots Firestar she puts on a face. The dispassionate, serene face she has been sporting lately. Nodding politely, she says, "Oh! Hi. I'm sorry. I didn't know anyone was out here. I'm Dani."
Firestar has posed:
Looking up at the sound of the new voice, Angelica meets Dani's gaze and nods politely,"Hello. I can move on if you need. Mostly just staring at the water anyway." she admits with a hint of a smile,"I'm Angelica. I'm new." she adds, the last part a bit obvious and her expression betrays when she realizes that,"Obviously."

She shakes her head and forces a little more of a smile,"It's nice to meet you Dani. I just came out here to..." she pauses and looks at the water,"...I'm not really sure why I came out here."
Moonstar has posed:
"No, no! Please." Dani says with a smile. "You have every right to enjoy the day and the water." Looking up. "And the sky." Looking back at Angelica, Dani bows her head slightly, respectfully. "Angelica. Welcome to our little piece of heaven. I heard you were here. If you ever need anything, please, let me know."

Dani looks at Angelica for a moment. "I think you came out here to relax. Our lives are...stressful, and so, this was a way to get away from all those troubles, and enjoy the afternoon."

As if realising something, Dani then says, "Oh! I am interrupting. I can go...?"
Firestar has posed:
"Thank you, for the welcome and the offer." she replies. She nods and agrees,"Relax. I think you might be right." she agrees. Her feet move through the water, kicking gently, but not breaking the surface.

A shake of her head and she replies,"Please stay. You aren't interrupting anything. Sometimes I think I have too much alone time. I do enjoy solitude, but it's nice to have others around. I spent a lot of time alone growing up so I am working on being more...social. I just happen to be fairly awkward."
Moonstar has posed:
"Ok. I can stay." Dani finds a chair at the edge of the deck, and has a seat. "I can appreciate too much time alone. And solitude as you say. If i didn't know better, I am becoming more and more like Logan every day." Dani grins.

Moving a towel, Dani leans back. "Awkward I understand. So...what brings you here? To this place? Feel free to not answer!"
Firestar has posed:
A nod in reponse to her mentioning of too much time alone. She smirks a little when she mentions Logan,"The legendary Wolverine." she comments,"Alpha Flight has a lot of stories about him. Hopefully I will meet him some time soon."

She leans back a little bit, resting her hands behind her to turn towards Dani a little more,"I came back to New York to study at NYU. I came by to visit here and let the X-Men know I was back in town and available if they needed my help. Things...evolved from there."

She studies Dani a moment and looks for the right question,"What about you? Tell me a little about you, if you are willing I mean." She really is just bad at small talk.
Moonstar has posed:
"Oh I am sure you will meet him soon!" Dani smiles. "He is a...unique experience. The wilds of Canada all rolled into one!" Her warm laughter was genuine.

"Well. It is good to have you here! The X-Men can always use another warm body." No pun. Honestly.

"Me? I am a simple American girl. Just here to help in any way I can. I have seen things, done things, and been things that make me glad to have the family I have found here. My skills are...eclectic and profound, but simple, and in tune with the land. That about sums me up."
Firestar has posed:
A soft chuckle and gets a nod,"So I've heard." The warm body comments gets a genuine smile this time,"I definately fit that bill." she admits,"Thanks for the welcome though. Most everyone seems very nice here."

The words Dani comments about herself and her abilities gets a nod,"It sounds like you've lived an interesting life Dani. Alpha Flight summed me up as a walking nuclear weapon waiting to explode. I try not to be that dramatic, but you get the idea. Fire and radiation."
Moonstar has posed:
"We try and be nice. Until we are battling Sentinels or Evil Mutants, or Hellfire. And that is just the first week." Dani leans back, stares up at the sky, and basks in the sun. Maybe she should get a swimsuit. Relax, in the sun, by the pool...

"Oh, and you are welcome. You are part of the family. No need for thanks." Dani leans forward.

"Oh, I have! I am sure you have too! We all have unique stories. All part of our shared mythology." Dani considers Angelica's comments for a few moments. "I amn more Dreams and Nightmares. And Ragnarok, with a winged stallion thrown in for mythological drama..." Dani trails off, her eyes growing distant, as though somewhere else.
Firestar has posed:
The two of them spend some time, talking for a while by the pool. Angelica points out that she was once associated with the Hellfire Club, but that it ended poorly. Mostly as they talk she eases up some and tries to not be too nosey about Dani's life, but asks curious questions common to science types.
