An interview for me
Date of Scene: 28 August 2023
Location: Roof of the Daily Planet.
Synopsis: Clark Kent interviewed Angelica. Unbeknownst to her, but knownst to us, he was getting to know her better before the Justice League met to talk about her joining.
Cast of Characters: Firestar, Superman

Firestar has posed:
Curiosity get the better of her and Angelica finally makes the decision to contact him. The two of them talk and she suggests a roof top somewhere, like the Daily Planet or a random place if he rather.

She takes her time to fly around a bit so it isn't obvious where she is going. People will look for a bit, then lose interest when she doesn't settle right off. Too many flying people and too many bored people. Eventually, she comes to a landing on the building and looks around,"Mr. Kent?"
Superman has posed:
Clark is there walking about slouchng a little bit. He pushes up his glasses. "Miss Firestar," he says with a happy tone in his voice. "How are you today? A bit far away from New York. Did you come here to try our restaurants?" he asks, hopeful. Clark knows she is here for the interview, but he wonders if there are other plans. "I hope your day is going well," he gives a smile.
Firestar has posed:
The aura of energy around her fades and she smiles,"Hello. Oh it's not too far. I might not be fast as the Kryptonians I have met, but I can cover a pretty long range in a short time."

She considers and she adds,"I hadn't really thought about trying a restaurant. I am thinking I might be a little conspicuous." she adds. A smile touches her features and she adds,"The day is good. Getting ready for NYU classes for me to attend and Xavier's classes that I am teaching."
Superman has posed:
"Well, you never know. I don't know the full extent of your powers," Clark pauses for a moment. Then he gives a moment just jotting down thngs. "How do you find time for a personal life as teacher, student and hero?"he asks thinking that's a rare combo to juggle. It's the combinaton of all the other responsibilities plus any personal bits she may want to have.
Firestar has posed:
"I fly around 100 miles per hour. Rather that not end up in the paper, but I will tell you." she replies finally. She smiles and moves to sit on the edge of the building,"Personal life...happens occasionally." she admits,"I make personal time when it's convenient. That said, not really often." she tells him.

"I see it like this. I am never bored...ever." she explains,"I get up on the run and usually crash without any interaction those who are on a personal level with me."
Superman has posed:
Clark nods to the first request. When the questions come. "How do you stay sane?" he asks, genunely interested in this answer. He gives her a serious look. However, this is her story. He's not going to lie. And while he is not tryng to trap Firestar or lead her astray, there will be serious questions about her life.
Firestar has posed:
A light chuckle escapes her throat and she tells him,"You are assuming I am still sane Mr. Kent." she tells him with a wink,"I stay sane because most of the time I'd rather be studying than dealing with people. I am getting better, but typically I am what they call an introvert. A painful one at that." she admits.
Superman has posed:
"Well, what do you hope to achieve as a hero? When you look back at it all, at the end of the day, what do you wish you accomplished? What will make all ths sacrifice worth it?" he asks honestly. He's curious on ths one. His gaze foused on her for a mometn before writing things down.
Firestar has posed:
"I want to make sure someone else's kids are going to live safer and better." she tells him,"This world tends to frown on mutants and that alone is why I try to do something good. Make those relations better in the world." she admits.

"If no the day I die there is a peace between mutants and the rest of the world and kids are able to live in a safer world...I will be content."

He might notice she makes /no/ mention of making a better world for her kids, other people's kids.
Superman has posed:
"And what about your kids?" Clark notied that right away. It's a suspect comment. There's a lot of reasons for it. However, it could be the start of further questions depending on the answer. Dull blue eyes watching her from time to toime between notes he jots down.
Firestar has posed:
She settles on the ledge a little and tells her,"Mr. Kent. There's a reason I keep my distance from people. It is difficult to get close to others when you are a walking nuclear melt down. Physically I could carry a baby, barely. That said, I don't see a baby surviving even partially, so..." She shrugs. Maybe a hint of a tear, maybe just a trick of the light.

"I wear clothes to keep others safe, but still I keep my distance from people that can't heal fast or are resistant to radiation."
Superman has posed:
"Ther advancements at STAR LAB. Should you ever want to cross that path, they might be able to help you," Clark offers and there's a sorrrow in her voice. Clark knows it for reasosn held close to the chest, he has similar concerns. Being an alien he wondered how his DNA would mix with people outside of Kryptonians. It's not like there are a lot of Kryptonians to speak of at the moment. The few that are, he's realted to.
Firestar has posed:
Quiet for a few minutes, Firestar takes in a few slow breaths and finally blows the last one out with a huff and she nods,"I will keep that in mind." she offers to him. Definately a tear that time.

Forching a smile she tells him,"Let's not dwell on that too much. I doubt your readers want to hear about that. If they did they might well decide this mutant is the most dangerous on the planet. They might be right, but I don't think so. There are some I don't hold a candle to."
Superman has posed:
"I will do certain omissions," Clark reassures her. His gaze on her for a moment. He does feel bad about it. "Well, tell me who inspired you to keep going in the here and now. What keeps Firestar going?" he asks softly and fgures he wuld make this about her. Positive things. Intorduce the world to her. "What would you tell other aspiring heroes?" he asks curious how she would answer ths one.
Firestar has posed:
"Appreciate it." she tells him softly and sighs softly,"Firestar saved me. When I was in school a local bully framed me for a crime. It was Firestar that cleared my name." she explains.

"After that I was brought into the care, if you call it that, of a school that turned out to be rotten to the core. The headmistress played me up, but she planned to use me as a weapon against her enemy. While we've settled things between us, that is what really steeled me."

"After that I went to Canada and became a member of the Alpha Flight developmental team, the New Warriors. It's just in my blood now you could say. My life is this. Maybe it's what keeps me sane with my schooling, certainly what gave me my knack with specific subjects. Survival mostly."
Superman has posed:
"How do you hope to inspire a world around you that may judge you?" Clark asks leaning into that question. It's something he's curious about as both a reporter and a hero.

"What do you hope others learn from Firestar?" he asks with a curious glance with those dull blue eyes. He keeps the attention on the hero. Just wanting to put th metaphorical spotlight on her.
Firestar has posed:
"It sounds naive, but I hope to inpire others just doing everything the detractors say is impossible." she explains,"I know of one mutant who made his way to the Avengers and did well for himself. Most people forget he's a mutant."

"I hope others learn how to be more outgoing without wearing a costume and using mutant powers. If you haven't figured it out yet, I am not terribly fond of large groups of people or talking infront of said people. I am working on it though."
Superman has posed:
"Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers? Any parting words?" Clark asks just giving Angelica cart blanche to finish this. It's how a good interviewer will end an interview. Just giving the interviewee a small soapbox to speak their peace if something was missed.
Firestar has posed:
She is thoughtful for a long time, not speaking for several seconds. Finally she says,"There are a lot of bad mutants out there, just like any other part of society. Whether people want to accept it or not there are some good ones out there that just want to live. Some of us go out and place our lives infront of the general publics to protect them."

She sighs softly and tells him,"Mr. Kent you'd probably be better off not running that last bit. Most of the world thinks my kind are a 'gene joke' and should be put into camps. Sound familiar?"
Superman has posed:
"I will not put that in there Miss Firestar. I will pluck out the god quotes," he says softly. A nod goes toward her, "You can trust me." Clark is not like Kat Grant. She would go for one of those type of quotes lke a bloodhound. That's not Clark Kent's style. "Have a good night," he says softly then gives a wave befre heading ff to do a few things with the interview.
Firestar has posed:
A nod and she prepares to fly off again,"I am putting all I have in you Mr. Kent. Other reporters are hurting my best friend. I am hoping this will be a good distraction from him for a paper cycle. I don't think I am that interesting, but your work is well regarded. Thank you. Have a good night as well."

As he turns to leave, she rises into the sky and flies away. There is bound to be something that needs her attention, but what is anyone's guess. In a matter of seconds she is gone from sight, most because she starts lacing herself through the buildings rather than stay in the sky line.
