Catching up on ice
Date of Scene: 02 February 2024
Location: Metropolis Central Park
Synopsis: Kara and Lar catch up over ice skating and hot cocoa.
Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Mon-El

Supergirl has posed:
It's an early evening and a quiet one, that finds Metropolis' gigs t park and skating rink nice and quiet, which is just perfect for Kara as she tries out skating for the first time. With the unpredictable, slippery surface, it's hard to get her footing and balance at first, and harder still to be gentle with the ice and not stomp too hard to break a hole in it as it's been known to be thin in areas with the warmer weather as of late. For now she is taking it slow, thankful for her natural athleticism and balance..
Mon-El has posed:
Lar had decided to join Kara at the skating ring. It always takes a little bit of getting used to at first, and the two of them help each other out but now they're just sort of gliding along together. The not accidentally breaking the ice part is where he keeps his focus, with how strong they both are.
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers chuckles as she picks up speed but is too afraid to try anything fancy. "Wow, this is Soo much fun, I mean I would almost say it's like flying but slower!" she smiles, "Earth still has so many customers that I'm trying to get used to. But this one is fun." she peers at him thoughtfully, "You know! I don't remember the last time we had fun together like this."
Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah it's been a while." Lar chuckles. "Really, just as thrilling as speeding through the air at the speed of sound? Doing twists while you're at it?"

A pause. "I guess it does have its charm."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smirks, "Well not nearly so thrilling but still kinda...Woah!" she suddenly hits a patch of black ice and flails, trying to regain her balance. She sure wasn't expecting that, and reaches out blindly towards Lar for balance, hopefully not dragging him down with her.
Mon-El has posed:
Lar does his best to grab her without losing his balance himself, catching her under the arms and hauling her back up. "Careful there." he laughs.
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smirks, "See what I mean? It's almost as thrilling as flying..Although I wouldn't mind travelling to faraway planets.." she sighs wistfully, "Compared to that, this is pretty tame, but.." Kara peers around, spying a hot cocoa cart. "Come on, let's get some of those hot chocolate bombs, they look like fun!" and she starts heading that way.
Mon-El has posed:
Lar follows her over toward the hot chocolate stand. "Well the Legion has spacecraft if it's a trip to space you're after." he offers. "Hey, I won't complain about tame."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers wits in line for hot cocoa, thinking that over, "Well there's always that..Although I'm still curious to know what you were up to all this time.." she tilts her head, studying him thoughtfully, "I'll bet you got involved in all sorts of exciting adventures! right?"
Mon-El has posed:
"Heh, yeah...'exciting', I guess." Lar replies, getting in line with her. It seems to be a popular attraction. "Mostly the same old, same old, though. Warring races, out of control monsters, races that are just hell-bent on destroying everything in their path. Funny how a lot of places in the galaxy barely change in a thousand years. Sol system not included."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers arches a brow at the sarcasm in his voice. "That bad..? You should have called me, I would have helped, you know.." she bites her bottom lip, peering towards the hot chocolate stand as it gets closer. "To be honest, I kinda missed you..Especially after all the hard work we put in to winning over your family's trust..Finally."
Mon-El has posed:
Lar nods. "You're right, I probably should have. But I just figured you were probably busy with Earth's troubles. But hey, I'll definitely page you next time, how about it?" he winks.

He sighs at the mention of his family. "Yeah....I wouldn't say we 'won them over' but at least they're not trying to kill you any more."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smiles and shrugs, "I mean, things have been fairly quiet around here lately, maybe a little too quiet." she sighs wistfully, stepping up to the counter and ordering a chocolate caramel peppermint hot chocolate bomb. "She chuckles as she watches them drop the bomb in the steaming milk.

"Sounds like a deal, and maybe we can visit your parents on better terms next time." she nods towards the stand, "So what will you have?"
Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah, maybe. Maybe they can be convinced to actually respect you." Lar sighs. But he smiles and steps up to the register. "I'll just take whatever she had." he tells the cashier. He's not very familiar with all the different flavors. So if Kara likes it, then it's bound to be good.

"Heh, I guess you only learn to appreciate the quiet once it's gone."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smiles as she watches them mix the second drink, "All the better for us to travel together. I got your back, you got mine. I miss excitement and adventure. Your parents see us working together as a team and there will be little room left for doubt, Regardless of if we ever get back together again or not." She sips her hot cocoa thoughtfully as she peers around for a place to sit.
Mon-El has posed:
"Hopefully, if it doesn't just make them angry again." Lar sighs, spotting a bench near the skating area and heading over to it once the drink is ready. "But maybe, one of these days, they'll actually come around. Who knows?"
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers shrugs, settling on the bench. "So now what, you're back to earth fir good? Still trying to find your way back to the future or gonna take some more intergalactic trips?"
Mon-El has posed:
"I don't think I'd be able to say I'm going to stay any one place for 'for good'." Lar admits, sitting down next to her and sipping the hot drink. "Just never know what could crop up. But yes, for now I'm here."

"As for back to the future," he shrugs. "There's certainly plenty to do here, that's for sure."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers smiles and nods, "Guess we will see..Need to get the Titans back together again, figure out our purpose, I thought it was clear before, but now I'm not so sure.."
Mon-El has posed:
Lar arches a brow at her when she mentions that. "Why? Did something happen?" he asks.
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers shakes her head, "Nah, it just feels like everyone is grown up now and no longer needs mentoring." she shrugs, taking a sip of her cocoa. "And perhaps things have been slow lately for new recruits. Plus it's been quiet. I guess I'm trying to figure a new direction for the Titans."
Mon-El has posed:
Lar pats her on the shoulder reassuringly. "You'll get it figured out. You always do. I'm sure something will come along, as it inevitably does, eventually. But maybe the quiet is good for us, every once and a while."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers chuckles and nods, "I should be thankful for the calm before the storm, right?" she stares into her steaming cup of cocoa thoughtfully. "You're right, I shouldn't be so eager for action..Peace is good, if a little boring." she smirks at that.
Mon-El has posed:
Lar laughs. "Hey, it doesn't have to be boring!" he assures her. "How about that space trip I mentioned? We could go somewhere you've never been, maybe." He finishes off the hot chocolate and tosses the cup into a nearby trash bin. "Even if there aren't as many civilized places right now as there will be a thousand years from now, the galaxy's still a huge place."
Supergirl has posed:
Kara Danvers nods enthusiastically, "Right! I'd love to travel the stars more, and heck, maybe we might even find some survivors of Krypton.." it's always possible if some of them left the planet before the catastrophe Afterall. Or at least she's trying to stay positive.
Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah," Lar says, smiling and patting her shoulder. "Never know what's out there." he says, standing up. "Thanks for coming out. This was really nice. But I should get back to the cruiser for now."

"Love you, Kara." With that, he heads out.
