| Synopsis: | Lucifer and Sinister catch a concert- and a wayward father |
| Cast of Characters: | Phantasm (Drago), Lucifer, Sinister
|
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick Drago's played Madison Square, the Sala Santa Cecilia, and a lot of other arenas. But- There's something to be said about the more intimate settings. Smaller crowds, more of an opportunity to work a higher percentage of the audience.
Less potential for 9-1-1 calls.
Either way, the Crash Concert Hall is no Madison Square. Nor is it some hole in the wall bar either. With string lights casting most of the illumination on the vast amount of floor space that takes up the venue, this place is about twice the size of the Lux, less fancifully furnished, but considerably much more packed with people.
And for good reason. This is quite possibly the first Nick Drago concert they've had in the area that did NOT get cancelled due to undisclosed reasons. Or any reason for that matter. Either way, it's a sold out performance and most people who got tickets are already inside enjoying the start of the show.
Well there was some odd rhyme that started up the performance. But every show's got a theme and apparently this show's theme is GOOD TIMES!
- Lucifer has posed:
It's nothing too fancy, but nothing too small either. And despite the fanciness - or lack there of - a crowd has been drawn. Lucifer has shown up, but he's come without warning - and without Nathaniel. The Doctor is busy doing something all sciencey and shit - it would have likely bored Lucifer to tears. So he's come to the show instead. How did he know there was a show? It's likely he has an insider feeding him information on when and where Nick is performing.
Sources told him that this location might be close to where a person of interest is near. Sources may have also hinted at the fact that this person might very well be in attendance at the concert.
Course, Lucifer is also half here to enjoy the show. To listen to his far distanced nephew perform.
And to sus out one Savio Drago. Tho, what he'll do or say once he finds the man is...a guessing game in the moment.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
It is likely here the phrase 'Sources be damned' would be hitting the nail squarely on the head. Or at least that is what the narration will state considering the amount of effort put into spiriting away the missing father. As far as the New York underworld is concerned, Savio met an untimely end.
Or-
...
Anyways. While sources have led Luci to look around here, he's left to instead enjoy the beginning of the show.
It isn't until the concert is well under way, house lights down as far as they are legally allowed and stage lights turned up very high that a familiar presence starts to make itself known.
No-the familiar presence is on stage. This one is different. Similar. But not near the stage. This one's much further away. Closer to one of the exits than the stage but they're not leaving.
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer enjoys the concert for what it's worth. It's nice to be able to enjoy the music and not be the one having to worry about people rushing the stage or anything else going wrong. Or right. Things can go right too... None the less, he's enjoying, and drinking - cause he can. All while keeping eyes on both the stage and the crowd.
At some point, however, ears perk. Eyes narrow. Something familiar is in the air. Familiar but also different. Lucifer smirks as he begins to slowly weave through the crowd but in a way that doesn't disturb anyone. Further back, towards the wall, and then following the wall across to the exit.
None too close yet, Lucifer. You may scare off your target.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
While not particularly the best spot in the house for watching a concert, the sound and view on the way towards the exit are still reasonably decent. With the added benefit of there not being as many persons back there, it does allow for a bit more freedom of movement.
As Lucifer comes near, there are a few persons in the targeted area. All of them are apparently dressed for comfort in the Floridian weather. Which, with the unseasonable cold in the air is a series of layers to compensate for the only jacket in their possession being of the lightweight variety. Be it the layers or not, a man who looks more in his 40s than his early 50s seems to have a bit of a build on him. Easily six foot with a salt and peppered beard to go with hair that's been allowed to get longer, it is hard to pick out any features that would easily identify him to be related to tonight's entertainment. Even the old worn ballcap he wears obscures his eyes.
What is it with concert venues and people wearing ballcaps? They're not even a merchandise option at the table.
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer isn't looking at features of face or stature but more going off the feeling that he's getting of a presence that is both familiar and not. None the less, as he gets close enough to perhaps be within earshot he puts up the familiar - well to some - barrier that allows him to light up a cigarette. Without people coming at him. At all. He lights two. Which may be more out of habit...
Until he hands one off to Savio.
"Here for support? Or just having a good time?" Asking this, with the proffered cigarette still offered.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Catching a bit of light that's not coming directly from the stage, the man turns his head in time to see the cigarette being offered to him. A hand reaches up, taking the offered drug. "Thanks."
There's no motion to actually bring it up to his lips though as he instead looks up the remaining inches needed to meet Lucifer's gaze. With the lighting in the area it's hard to really determine much in terms of shade, but they are extremely light colored.
A curious look is given to Lucifer. "I'm retired so, most likely the good time. I'm sorry but I'm having trouble putting a name to the face."
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer's lips curl into a smirk and he lifts a single shoulder in a shrug. "I'm not entirely sure if we've met. At least not properly. I'm Lucifer. Lucifer Morningstar." He offers, because he never shies away from saying who he is. It's up to others to believe him or not. "Yes, -that- Lucifer. No, I'm not here to kill you." He pauses. "Yet."
Then there's another shrug and he gives a nod towards the stage. "What are you retired from? I've got a few sources that give me all sorts of information. I could start telling a few stories of my own but I think you might have a better thread to spin..."
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer places a placeholder for purposes of holding places and keeping things in line.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The cigarette continues to burn, unobserved in Savio's hand as the man glances up at Lucifer. There's a lengthy pause of quiet. Well... if one's not factoring the concert going on in the background.
The pale eyes of indeterminate color fixate upon Lucifer's, studying the expression.
"Do you really believe you are?" Savio wonders, "And I should probably be concerned the types of sources you are referencing...as I'm nothing more than a glorified HR worker."
- Lucifer has posed:
"I've lived long enough that even if I didn't believe, evidence enough exists to prove that I am..." Lucifer offers, taking note of the cigarette that burns without being consumed. It's of no consequence to him whether it's enjoyed or not.
Glorified HR Worker. That's a new one. "Ah. Then perhaps I am mistaken you for someone else than the person I thought you were. Just... the resemblance is quite uncanny..." He comments this much before finishing his cigarette only to crush it into nothingness in his palm.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Hmm. Will it offend you if I'm inclined not to just blindly trust someone I haven't met before?" The bearded man gives an assessing look to the cigarette before the comment causes him to glance up again, "Resemblance? To who?"
The crushing motion draws the man's attention once more, taking the note of the lack of cigarette in hand, Savio glances to the floor for the slight outline of discarded cigarette butt.
The hell?
- Lucifer has posed:
"I mean, if you believe what people say about me, then I wouldn't want you to trust me either being as how I'm often called the King of Lies. Though, in all actuality, I cannot lie. At all. It's a curse and a blessing all at the same time." Lucifer explains, because why wouldn't he? "But blind trust is often frowned upon. And I'm not God or Christ, so if you want me to prove it somehow, I'm more than willing to."
Because crushing a cigarette into dust and nothing isn't enough? Then that question about resemblance comes and Lucifer looks pointedly towards the stage. "The singer. On stage. I trust you know him or you wouldn't be here. Yet you're hiding in the shaodws so he doesn't see you. Doesn't even catch a glimpse of you being here to support him. If memory serves me, he thinks you're dead. Or perhaps our sources have proven you're alive and he's hoping to see you." Lucifer gives a shrug. Downs his whiskey.
And lights up another cigarette.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Savio's assessment of the floor is not too in depth. It'd be hard to explain crawling on the floor for a better look. Nor does the man feel inclined to do such a thing. Despite the oddness of the conversation, the bearded man doesn't appear to feel the need to retreat either.
A glance is given to the stage as wildhaired and clean shaven rocker is indicated in the comparison to the long haired and bearded elder man. "...And HOW do we resemble each other?"
Another denial? Maybe? Or-
"...How do you know him?"
- Lucifer has posed:
"Well considering your mother's father's mother...a few more generations back....fucked an angel and infiltrated the Drago line with angelic DNA... I can sense it. In him and you. But also, yes, I know him. Met him randomly one day and then he became a significant part of my life in many ways." A drag off that cigarette is taken. "He sometimes performs for me at my club, he lives part time in one of my club's hotel rooms, and we have been on quite a few adventures together..."
There's a moment taken to look between the stage and the bearded man next to him. "Savio. Sources say you died. Other sources say that if you did die, you would certainly had entered my domain. So do you want to tell me how you're alive, or shall we skip all the formalities and you let me take you to talk to your son when this is all over."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Brows lift. "W-" A head tilts slightly "Wh-"
Ok. Of ALL the possible explanations for figuring out a resemblance between a bearded man and a clean shaven one. That wasn't on Savio's radar. "...Ar-"
What is left of the cigarette is brought up to Savio's lips, taking a drag before it lowers.
Blink. Blink.
Another glance to his cigarette.
Shit.
There's yet another pause, allowing for plenty of time to listen to the remainder of the song currently being performed on stage.
Eventually Savio's brain reboots. And fortunately for him, the cigarette didn't kill him!
Yet.
Eyes close as he sorts through the confusing things brought up by the unexpected companion. The free hand pinches the bridge of his nose.
Ok. Less ridiculous things first. What did Schwizer and Barnes tell him?
...
Savio looks to Lucifer, "...What's the name of the club?"
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer remains silent, and his gaze is pointedly at the stage while listening to the last bit of the song being performed. This gives Savio time to stutter through responses that only make it out one syllable at a time. Keep going, you'll get there eventually.
Maybe Lucifer was being too honest upfront, but why should he let that information die? It would have come out eventually, right? Right.
A question is finally asked and Lucifer takes another drag of his cigarette. "Lux."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Lux." Savio repeats, his study of the other man's features still on his general to do list. Well... the name of the club itself checks out. But other elements...
There's a glance about, checking for any persons who could have been within earshot of the odd conversation going on. "Hmm... Well, if I am who you say you are, then you can likely assume some of your sources were wrong. Maybe they were talking about someone with a similar name."
Savio lifts up the small nub of cigarette left in his hand, displaying it to Lucifer, "...I may need more of that proof to who you are since there's no place to put these indoors. If you'd be so inclined. Then perhaps we can find another place to talk."
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer pulls his lips back into a bit of a smirk and then lifts a shoulder in a single shrug. "So you are not Savio Drago? Father to Michael Nicholas Drago?" He asks this. Point blank. Because beating around bushes was never Lucifer's strong point. He likes to get to the crux of things - having played games for far too long with far to many people in his life.
He does, however, take the cigarette from Savio and places it into his palm. He doesn't flinch. Then he closes his fist for a moment and when he opens it again, naught but ashes fly into the air, dissipating away. "Is that enough to fill your satisfaction?"
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Savio's jaw clenches as Lucifer brings up his name. Eyes narrow as the head tilts down a bit, brim of the hat concealing the eyes from the devil's gaze.
Lips purse together before the brim of the cap sways side to side. Savio chest raises, stills, and after a holding position of a set interval of times. Most likely of the quantity of ten and with a unit of measure kept to seconds.
"Not at all." Savio responds, "There's a lot of things about this whole situation that doesn't satisfy me. But perhaps...We can seek a less...densely populated room to converse?"
- Lucifer has posed:
Lucifer considers. "Well. Several options. I think. Hotel rooms are quiet. My penthouse is quiet. I could take you somewhere and bring you back in a single breath. Or we can just... walk outside... no one will hear us. I can make it so they cannot." It would take him a bit more than it does his significant other but when needs must. Cause Nathaniel's off somewhere doing something sciency and shit.
And this is the result of Lucifer's impending boredom.
"Whatever you prefer. Tho I would like for part of this night to include you and Nick being in the same room. I'm a sucker for intense situations."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Savio nods slightly. "New York is out." He replies definitely, "A hote-"
There is a halt to the thought as another thing the devil said registers. Savio turns his glance to look at Lucifer in disbelief. "If you are capable of making it to where no one can overhear, why didn't you lead with that?"
- Lucifer has posed:
There's a pause and then the Devil shrugs. "I mean, did you not notice that even those within a few feet of us didn't notice there was cigarette smoke in the air? No one has really looked our way since I approached you. But... if I must show some of the cards I'm playing with then I will. Besides. Maybe I wanted to offer you comfort before security."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"No I didn't notice anyone else making note of the smoke." Savio responds with a shake of the head, "I don't believe anyone's focus would be on that when they're trying to determine the ulterior motive of the virtual stranger who approached them out of nowhere, offering over a lit stick of something that could be laced with anything."
Savio lifts his hands up, palms upwards as his freed hands start to move with the conversation a bit more. "AND if you're offering comfort to someone, maybe don't make mention of killing them at a later point in time. Actually, at any point in time."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
THIS IS A PLACEHOLDER A PLACEHOLDER A PLACEHOLDER. THIS IS A PLACEHOLDER A PLACEHOLDER A PLACEHOLDER... So Luci can do their pose.
- Lucifer has posed:
"Why not? Sources say you're already dead. Killing you would just be for show." Lucifer lifts his shoulders in a shrug. "I've said a lot of things, none of them are lies, and yet only some of them are surprising. You are Savio Drago. Father of Nicholas Michael Drago. If he knew I was using his full name he would likely stare at me until a hole burned into my forehead - but I digress." Lucifer pauses, eyes the man up and down once and then continues.
"I am not going to actually kill you. That would entirely defeat my purpose of fulfilling Nick's wish to... meet you? Talk to you? See you again? Bah... so many tropes of reunions I lose track of the requests. Anyway and also. I'm the literal Devil. My opinion of comfort could be an entire lake of eternal fire.... I'm not making a good case for myself. But there it is."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Ill advised. Making a public show of my so called demise for a second time around would cause a lot more problems than you probably expect. For a lot of people."
Eyes narrow to the attempt to say the rocker's full name. "MICHAEL...Nicholas Drago." Savio corrects, "And my critique still stands."
There's a moment of pause as Savio looks to the stage, watching the next song start up.
"If it's done right...I wouldn't mind meeting him. Past arrangements kind of fell through."
Savio glances back over to Lucifer, "...Why would he think I'm dead?"
- Lucifer has posed:
"Public? We're in a nearly secluded corner by an exit door. You could have called me an idiot and ran off the first time I said anything. Also, no one is looking this way. That's by effect. I could draw in a crowd if I really wanted to, but that would have horrid repercussions. What you may not have realized is that no one can hear us right now. We can hear from the outside, but no one outside our little area can hear us. Trick of the trade..." That, or he has a very handy pocket telepath.
It's likely the latter, but he'll press the former.
"I don't know why. Maybe because that's what he was told. Maybe because he's had a hell of a time finding you. Which makes me bloodhound and devil. For reasons already mentioned. I could bring you two together, in a quiet space, and still have you back to wherever you wish in time for tea. Or breakfast. Or whatever. Nick might even prefer it that way. So. After the show is over. Shall I?"
- Sinister has posed:
If a moment /is/ taken at this point to observe any and all that are within a stone's throw, it IS subtle -- the faces in rapt attention to the stage, they rarely look back, or even to each other, so engaged are they. What's perhaps a little more surprising where there's actually a concert going on, despite everything, is that a conversation can be had in reasonable tones without having to shout. But that too, can be ignored until you /really/ think about it. Like hearing things is being assisted by 'hearing'.
But where is the pocket telepath? Oh, he's doing a very good impression of a pillar, blended into the foreground, until suddenly he's there, arms folded, watching the stage, leaned like the malboro man against the wall. The very slight head nodding is the only sign he's really engaged in the music, but that is enough.
He looks over at this exact point, waves fingers and continues to gaze at the stage thereafter.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Savio eyes Lucifer. "Or maybe what you 'know' is not accurate."
The somewhat retired agent frowns slightly as he pieces together the information gleaned from the odd interloper. Considering his conversations with Barnes and Castle, there's no way his son didn't know that he survived. The passes to that canceled concert had to come from someone after all.
The offer Lucifer makes is tempting. It's been awhile since the proper channels made any effort to arrange a meet up in away that didn't topple the house of cards that joint project had set in place.
And honestly he's been waiting decades. His patience is wearing QUITE thin.
He came close to nodding in agreement to Lucifer's offer. Honest. But as the new man makes his presence known, Savio's countenance changes. From guarded to ... even more guarded.
"...Friend of yours?"
- Lucifer has posed:
"Husband. Actually. More by common law than actual rule...but I still call him thus." Lucifer offers. "Also, a friend of Nick's. More so. We're really like family the three of us. Plenty of stories to pass around each other if you really wanted to hear them all." He then lowers his arms, his entire guard as it were and simply gestures.
"Look. I have nothing to lose or gain from this. I just know Michael has really wanted to see you again. Maybe whispers caught him that weren't true. Honestly, I'm only good for what I know and obviously a few of my sources were wrong. But if I can do anything to help him connect with actual family again, I'll do it. He deserves it."
- Sinister has posed:
"I mean, the realistic alternative is us. And nobody in their right mind, would logically pick the devil and his consort as family, if they had an alternative choice, now would they?" Sinister observes in his deep, English tones. The deadpan quality of it makes it a question of mockery of the fact, or a droll truth, given there's a flicker of an eyebrow into an arch with it. "I've been here the entire time. If I was going to be a sod, I would've been a sod already. I'm making sure nothing idiotic occurs, which is, shall we say... an added bonus to dulcet tones and explicit wording." He nods to the stage, not looking back. Who he means is obvious.
"And I love you too, darling."
Sideglance. "Not you." At Savio. Serious? Only slightly. Imagine there was a wink.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
To the multiple usages of 'family' Savio, glances between the two. Right... The angel comment from earlier.
Is there really substance to that comment? That seems-
To the mention of making sure nothing idiotic occurs, Savio looks back to Lucifer.
"...Very well. After the concert."
There's still a hint of wariness, but an inkling of hope is wrapped in there.
Maybe this time it'll happen?
- Lucifer has posed:
After the concert, Lucifer will do the one thing he knows may help people be as comfortable as possible. Even Florida has it's grand hotels and Lucifer may have gotten a room at one...somehow. Likely via his pocket telepath. Or just the waving of writer's choice saying make it so. Still, Savio is taken there first...so that Lucifer can pick up Nick after the concert and say he has a - hopefully good - surprise for the singer.
- Sinister has posed:
Florida also has an abundance of hispanic culture, old people, condos and billionaires, particularly around the south. Irregardless of this, what Essex hones in on, is the fruity cocktails he's so fond of, with their effluviant abundance of fruity bits and decoration. He pays mind however, to certain vibes he's got in mind as to past histories...
...not a single beverage or snack is offered. This could after all, to the mind of a paranoid man, still spell 'trap'.
The hotel space, a penthouse suite, is therefore quietly addressed with small devices that give a very faint buzz of audible electrostatic. They're discreet, but they can be heard. Interference? interference.
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The trip to the penthouse in regards to Savio is quiet as he observes each street turned down along with the occasional glances to available car mirrors.
Yes, it is clear from past discussion that Nathaniel is here to prevent idiocy but some habits do not die easily.
Once in the Penthouse, any quiet time is spent looking around the more public area of the place. Not for the novelty. He's sick of staying in penthouses, honestly. But, a general awareness of nearby buildings and distances needed to breech windows couldn't hurt either. Especially not after his last exit from one.
It's likely a good reason nothing's offered in terms of refreshment. Sinister's spot on in that matter. There's already been a lot of personal rules broken today for a chance at a solitary dangled carrot presented earlier.
Either way he's left to mull what the HELL he was going to say if it turns out this pair were telling the truth and it wasn't yet another ploy somehow manufactured by double agents.
The cigarette though...
Powers are a thing not necessarily reserved for just the Angelic.
Nick's thoughts were likely a little less problematic. The mention of a surprise for the singer could mean a lot of things considering who stated it. And the musician has generally observed he's not really going to be able to predict what the surprise will be. But being he hasn't been harassed or followed by random persons that he knows about, there's a good chance it's not some random guy tied up in a chair waiting at the destination. Besides, he'll know soon enough once the elevator doors open, won't he?
