Superman has posed:
As summer drew to a close, local food banks began to restock from the summer rush of families needing meals for the students home from school. This restock leads right into the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas, the times of year that soup kitchens are the absolute busiest. Clark had a few of these on his desk, but with Rand Enterprises had a charity thing targeting this time frame lined up, the Planet reporter scheduled an interview.

Now, he walked in and checked in with the receptionist. He stood, waiting, pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose with one hand while hte other adjusted the strap of his messenger bag.

Iron Fist has posed:
Clark doesn't have to wait long for Danny's office door to swing open. The Rand C.E.O. stands there in his slim-cut suit, tie slightly askew, smiling to other man as he offers the room to him. "Nice to see you, Mr. Kent," he says, ushering the reporter into the office and then closing the door behind him.

The blinds at the far end of the room are open and the windows flood the room with enough natural light so that Danny doesn't need the actual lighting installed in the room. "Can I get you some water or tea or something?" he asks, motioning the chair on one side of his desk as he settles into his own.

Superman has posed:
"Likewise, Mr. Rand. Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview," Clark replies, hand offering a very light-gripped shake before stipping into the office. Sky blue eyes skim the room from behind the lens of his glasses while he moves toward some of that lovely natural sunlight.

"Either would be lovely, thank you."

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny nods and pushes his wheely-chair over to a side table nearby, where he deposits some fresh-made green tea into two east Asian-inspired teacups. These are ferried over to his desk and placed on top. "Honestly, it's my pleasure. A good break from the real estate meetings that are becoming so frequent."

Leaning back, he takes a moment to consider the reporter before lifting his small teacup and sipping from it. "So, where do we start?"

Superman has posed:
Under his clothes, the meeks seeming reporter is well built, though the faint slouch masks much of it. He gingerly takes the cup, sipping at the tea appreciatively.

"Let's start at the begining, Mr. Rand. What interested you in this particular charity?"

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny nods and sets down his teacup, then leans back in the chair. "When I first stepped into my position, I was involved in a project that highlighted certain poverty-stricken neighborhoods. It was a surprise, honestly. I knew that I wanted to do something to help, and my company is in a position to both raise funds and spread awareness." He shrugs and spreads a pair of open palms to suggest that it's all led here.

Superman has posed:
"What's the cause that your company is working to fight against?" Clark asks as he sits back and takes notes in a very quick and efficient but illegible to anyone else short-hand.

Iron Fist has posed:
"Homelessness," Danny answers. "We're interested in working with organizations like the Bowery Mission, not only to help feed people, but also to set up a series of fully-staffed, state-of-the-art medical clinics." He reaches out again for his tea, the weight of it in his hand putting him at ease. Despite this being a positive piece, reporters still make him a bit uncomfortable.

Superman has posed:
"Free or low-cost clinics?" Clark asks, digging for information on this as he takes notes. News of these clinics is.. well.. news, and it's surprising. Pleasantly so. This can do wonders for the community, and.. well, maybe Superman can pop in and compliment it all. But, that's another story.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny nods and says, "We're still finalizing all the possible services we can offer. To be honest, it depends on his much we can raise from outside donors as well. It's me dream to offer free health care to those who need it, but some services make that especially difficult."

Superman has posed:
Clark nods to this, knowing full well how much medical things can cost. He pays into Medicaid and Medicare like every other hard-working American. He just... doesn't use human doctors when he gets sick. He can't. But again, that's another story.

"What drew you to those cause: homelessness?" Clark asks, blue eyes lifting from his notes to peer at Danny. For a moment, it's over the rim of his glasses. His gaze warm and steady and not at all unfocused. The lens dull the color of his brilliant eyes ever so slightly, ever so importantly.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny pauses to think about how he wants to answer this question. When he does, it's tentative at first. "I spent a lot of years abroad before stepping into this role, and one thing that's struck me is how inefficiently the United States handles homelessness compared to other places in the world. And while I don't think it should solely be privately-handled, people like myself do have the opportunity to influence others, so why not do that positively."

Superman has posed:
"What were some of the things you saw aboard that inspired you to work for that change here at home?" Clark asks, head tilting slightly as he jots down Danny's response to that question.

Iron Fist has posed:
"Simple things, really. In northern Thailand, for example, there was an especially harsh winter that affected not only the homless population, but much of the low-income families. The government collected funds and spent some of the own to make everyone had jackets and warm blankets." Danny continues to list some similar examples of homely, caring instances where people who needed help got it.

Superman has posed:
"And you feel that we don't do enough domestically, for our own, in this regard," Clark asks. his tone is forcibly neutral since that idea is a bit of a stab in his own side. Here he is, sitting on alien tech he doesn't completely understand, that could help and... he flies around in his baby blanket. He doesn't even use his production facility at the fortress to make blankets to give out. He just floats in low orbit to wait for someone to cry for help, or for a building to blow up, or a shoot out to start.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny considers this for a moment and says, "I think our country is invested in grand gestures. I don't believe it's purposefully ignoring some of the smaller things that could be done, and there lots of grassroots organizations focusing on local issues. But if we could invest a portion of the time and money we do in some areas to what could be considered simple things like winter blankets, well, it wouldn't be solving the problem, maybe, but it'll make a big difference in quality of life."

Superman has posed:
Clark nods as he ctakes notes.

"You've got a fund raiser planned. Can you tell me more about it?" he asks, guiding the interview along.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny breathes in, then exhales. He hopes to not come off as too much of, well, any of the words some people have chosen to use for him in the recent past. The abrupt shift away from his ideas to the fundraiser makes him worry. Nevertheless, he continues. "Yes, we do. I can't go into all the details, yet, but we are about to lock down a venue and sponsors and I'll get that information out to you when everything is finalized."

Superman has posed:
"I'd appreciate it," Clark says, smiling warming as he hears the shift in Danny's heartbeat caused by worry. Not sure what's caused it, Clark's head tilts slightly, remarking hte other man.

"What hopes do you have for hte fundraiser while I wait for details on the venue?"

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny tends to worry a lot these days, and not always for a good reason. The man is in many ways still growing into himself and his many new roles. "I'm hoping most to bring people together and collaborate - even if only financially - to build a system that can help people. To build awareness and start a project that people can feel proud to feel a part of, or relieved to be able to benefit from."

Superman has posed:
"Are you working with any of these grassroots local organizations then?" Clark asks what to him feels like a very reasonable follow up. It's asked quickly, coming rihg ton the heels of Danny's response.

Iron Fist has posed:
"I'm personally working with a couple of student-run organizations at NYU and Columbia who are interested in the project," is all Danny says. "I'm sorry I can't give as many details as I had hoped. We're a little delayed, but this will happen."
