BENEATH XAVIER'S SCHOOL, THE DANGER ROOM
NOW

"Cyclops is staying behind for now to coordinate back-up defenses-- and, unless we wind up needing cavalry, to lead whatever team comes in after us if this doesn't work," Phoenix says to the group of X-Men and New Mutants gathered in what is - at least, right now, with its systems on stand-by - perhaps the safest place in Westchester County, "so Colossus: you're in charge of the Gold Team. Gold Team: your mission is to engage in an all-out assault on Mojo's headquarters, causing as much collateral damage as you possibly can to grab the attention of his security forces. While you're doing that..."

The redhead pivots towards Yana.

"... the Blue Team will be infiltrating via the sewers, based on our last known layout of Mojo's headquarters. We're going to need a lot of cover, because we're looking a little shorter staffed than expected, but we'll manage. Blue Team's job will be to locate Mojo's control room and steal the master tapes from the wedding day." Green eyes flick briefly towards Rogue - on-grounds for the first time in weeks - before scanning the crowd as Phoenix continues, "Once we have the tapes, we'll attempt to signal Illyana for evac. If we don't signal her in one hour, she'll begin trying to evac us automatically. Your comm devices will act as homing beacons to help her locate us in there, but be advised that Mojo and Spiral may have ways of screwing with their signals. Similarly, it may be that we'll need to find and disable Spiral before Illyana's able to access Mojoworld; if that's the case, we'll determine a rendezvous point in the field once our objectives are completed, and proceed from there."

The telepath takes a moment to inhale, promise herself that everyone she's looking at right now will be back here by the end of the day, then exhale, her eyes fixing on Illyana as she does so.

"If you'll do the honors..."

With a single nod, the grim-faced blonde raises her hands and speaks a single phrase that creates no sound, but reverberates powerfully through the room regardless. Twin discs snap into being to to either side of the group; one has a faintly golden glow, the other an icy tinge.

"Mojo and Spiral took one of our own-- stole what should have been a happy moment in two people's lives and tainted it, forever. By the end of the day, we're gonna know why-- and they're gonna know better than to fuck with the X-Men ever again. Is everyone clear on their assignments? If so: step into your appropriately colored portal, and let's get to work."

Boom-Boom has posed:
    Boom-Boom rubs her hands together. "'Collateral Damage' is my new band name." she offers. "Can't wait! This is gonna be _awesome_. I get to blow stuff up and I'm SUPPOSED to. Can't get better than that."

    She looks over to Colossus. "I'm with you, Iron Man." She adjusts her sunglasses and her uniform belt. "Lookin' good, feeling good. I'm ready."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had, only moments before Jean begun her briefing, been in Manhattan. In Greenwich village, more specifically. In Doctor Stephen Strange's Sanctum Santorum, even more specifically than that.

As soon as she'd stepped out of her bedroom she'd been grabbed by the Doctor's very animated cloak and it whisked her to the study that Stephen Strange was in... All he said to her was 'Your friends need your help.' in a very dry and disinterested tone, before he opened a door out of thin air and sent Rogue (and the cloak) right on through! "Wait, what?!" Rogue shouted as she was ushered right into the room where the X-Men were preparing for their assault.

Now, standing there, completely surprised to suddenly be 'back'... Rogue looked around at everyone, sheepishly a bit, then looked to Jean and nodded. "Hey." She said softly, while the high-collars of the cloak around her shoulders gently petted/stroked the side of her right cheek, causing her to reach up to lightly bat the cloak's collar away, while she tried to focus on the sudden, briefing?

Black Rose has posed:
    Yana does not say a word, she listens. Attentively. The focus on the newest member of the New Mutants, now decked out in the teams traditional black-and-yellow protective costume, the electric-blue haired punk girl is intense and she at least looks like (much thanks to said costume) as if she'd always belonged there.. Around her waist, there's a belt with several pouches on either side. One is square, and just large enough to fit a deck of cards. Another, slightly more rounded. A third sports a collapsable baton.
    She nods her acknowlgement of her assignment to Jean - the girl /had/ wanted to be on the Gold team but had seen her use and the need for her on the Blue, so had volunteered for that instead. Thus, she steps towards that portal, now. She tugs on her sleeves, breifly, then nods one last time. "Ready."
    At least, as ready as she'll ever be. Or could be.

Phoenix has posed:
Rogue and the red cloak she's definitely never worn before get a double-take after Phoenix makes her final remarks, the telepath having been too caught up in the flow of mission-prep and weighing the odds of losing more lives to take much notice of her beyond her mere presence-- which, given the stakes of dishing out payback to Mojo and Co., didn't strike her as particularly odd in and of itself.

After a beat of contemplative silence, she wonders, "Smash or grab?" of the southern belle.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue releases a heavy exhale, glances to the others in the room again and tries to summon up a smile. She was dressed in all black, or mostly anyway, a black hoodie, dark jeans and black leather boots with black gloves... she had very goth-like makeup on her face as well and her hair was tied back into a pony tail.

Jean's question got her gaze to re-center on the redheaded leader of the team tonight and she just nodded her head softly once. "Smash for life." She said in her thickly accented voice. The red cape's collar on the right side wadded itself up into a little fist and then lifted up its thumb approvingly.

Colossus has posed:
Colossus is there and ready, suited up in full X-uniform and all metal'ed out: porting in means they'll be right on the enemy immediately, so there's no sense in showing them his more vulnerable side. Listening to Jean, he only gives a simple nod to acknowledge the role he's placed in, and turns around to face those that will be going with him. "Our mission is destruction, but is not meaning carelessness. We are there to answer a loss, not suffer new ones. Stay together as group, do not charge too far ahead, do not separate. Take out enemies attacking team-mates. Leave no one behind if they are injured. In danger, you are welcome to stand behind me - am good shield!"

While the speech is offered generally, there is a subtle (as much so as any motion he makes can be) glance toward Rogue, and, well, then the much less subtle (because Piotr really is all about plain honesty): "This is especially meaning you, friend Anne-Marie. You have suffered greatly, and we all are sharing your loss - but we would be even sadder to have to suffer another one. Remember that we are all standing with you, that you do not fight alone!"

Beyond that, a nod is given to Boom-Boom. "I will be vanguard, you will be artillery with comrade Cyclops. Rogue is most mobile, so take out targets of opportunity. Da?"

And then, he simply prepares for the inevitable, familiar, but never-welcome feeling of one of his sisters little 'trips.'

Black Rose has posed:
    "Enjoy yourself, Tabitha. Be safe," Yana says towards her new sister-in-New-Mutants, and even seems to mean it. She flexes her hands, she considers Rogue whom she's heard of, but never met. And then, she tells Colossus << Kick some ass for me. We'll celebrate with a -proper- meal, afterwards. >> And flashes a faint smile towards the huge Russian teacher.
    But Yana is too keyed up for much else. She exhales, going through a breathing exercise to slow her adrenaline down, her heartbeat down a little, then, she can only wait.

Phoenix has posed:
Phoenix jerks both her gaze and a thumb from Rogue to the gold portal, then turns her attention back to Yana.

"Two things," she says while backing towards the blue portal, "one: what's your name? Not your birth name, the one your parents gave you-- your name? Two: close your eyes when you go through the portal, and remember that I'm going to be with you every step of the way."

And with that, she backs over threshold with a final call of, "Let's go-- roll out!" and fades into the stepping disk.

And on the other side of the Hell she and the other X-Men jaunt through lies Mojoworld.

Boom-Boom has posed:
    "You keep 'em off me, Mister Stark, and I'll blow 'em up good for you." Boomer says. She nods, though, serious now. "Jokin' aside, I'm ready. I'm gonna pay them back for what they did. They owe us all a pound of flesh and it's time for them to pay up."

    She cocks a finger-gun at Yana. "You got it. You too. Make sure you come back in one piece. Lexi won't forgive me if you don't."

    Jean gives the order to go and she bounces on her toes. "ALRIGHT! Here we come, Bozoworld! LEEEROY JEEEEKINS!" she cries, but waits on Pete. "Get in there, Tin Man!"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue would nod softly toward Colossus and she gave him a warm and honest smile. "Thanks Pete." She told him. "I'll be on my best smashin' behavior, I promise." She spoke quietly and just glanced toward Jean when the portals were indicated and the order to move was given.

With a soft sigh, Rogue would lift up off the ground (her cape-on-loan flowing out on either sides of her) and she'd rush toward the golden gateway!

Colossus has posed:
Once the signal is given, Colossus turns toward the disc and marches forward, steady and, at least visibly, unafraid, though his stoicism may well be for the benefit of the team. "Be ready my comrades," he calls out and then barrels forward at a somewhat greater pace. He's as keen as any to get the hell part over with quick and hit the ground running on the other side, ready for whatever they meet. "Slavsya, X-men!"

Black Rose has posed:
    "We'll keep an eye on each other," Yana agrees with Jean. The girl is confident, but is very glad Jean is coming with her, regardless. She answers, then, with a pause, "Never really thought about it. I used to call myself the Black Rose. But," she shrugs, "I don't suppose it really fits me any longer. Discord? Ricochet? Open to ideas. I guess just call me Kinetic, for now. We'll figure something out." She does close her eyes.
    And then, she's stepping into the portal.

Spiral has posed:
Mojo world, is a dark and dreary place, with very very little joy in it, and with walls and walls of TV's surrounding the place showing off countless advertisements flashing into its denizens eyes non stop. Many of the demonic looking beings appear to have glasses but only on one side of their faces, with a light beaming directly into their retinas.

The Gold Team X-men are dropped into the middle of a sidewalk outside of Mojo's main building with several guards turning their attentions towards the group of people and one of them pressing a button on a transmitter, indicating there's something wrong outside.

Beneath the city, Illyana did a wonderful job of dropping the stealth crew right into a heavy flow of sewers underneath the main Mojo facility with a scent even more horrendous than even found in the dirtiest places on Earth...

Phoenix has posed:
"Comms, check," Phoenix says while tapping the 'X' badge attached to her hip.

As to the filth: she and Kinetic are ensconced in a translucent pink bubble from the moment the smell hits them, sparing both mutants from at least part of the inherent awfulness of being down here. With both arms extended and her fingers spread, she guides the bubble towards the nearest piece of dry land while focusing far more intently on the sensory palatte they've been dropped into than any sane being could possibly want to.

Unless one were carefully monitoring one's olfactory system to lock in on the precise mixture of scents assailing oneself and one's student, in which case one might-- until one was able to use her telepathic talents to filter said scent from she and said student's senses, of course.

"Okay," Phoenix murmurs, a hint of lavendar filling both women's nostrils for a moment. "Bearing in mind that Cypher's floorplans were on the dated side..." she walks - or floats, if no dry land could be found nearby - forward, searching for some marker, some landmark-- anything that might help her in orienting them down there. "... we're gonna be looking for a maintenance area overlapping with Mojo's kitchens; don't think about it too hard, but there's an access door we can use. Failing that: we're gonna just get under his property and brute force our way in. Clear?"

Colossus has posed:
Colossus wastes no time in getting to work. Still in a half-run from the other side, when he comes out, he barrels right into one of the guards. Really, this means he basically runs *over* the guard, as he's not about to slow down or change course, and the guard isn't in the position to do much about it! He barrels right through, leaving the other for his companions behind him, his focus set directly on the door of the building. Still running, he builds up a bit more speed and crashes into it shoulder first like some giant metal linebacker.

"Go, go!" he shouts as he charges, not willing to give up whatever momentary surprise their quick arrival brings. Only when he's over the guard and (presumably) through the door does he pause to check in. "Am reading you clear, comrade Phoenix," he declares, slowing just a little on the other side to take in his bearings. "We are entering the building!"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks back to make sure the others on their team had made it thorugh the gate with them and she then sees the guards at the strange facility radioing in their arrival. "Heh." Marie quietly said then. "Guess they're busy plannin' on breakin' up othe'ah people's parties."

Rogue glances to her right as Colossus charges forward and she just lifts up off the ground and goes along with him, picking up one of the giant monitors off a wall as she zips past it, she tosses the huge thing effortlessly at a pair of 'Mojoguards' and then flies on ahead after her team leader, her red 'Strange Cape' fluttering in the wind behind her on her back.

Moonstar has posed:
Meanwhile, Dani comes thorugh the portal with Yana and Jean, getting caught in the bubble as she wrinkles her nose at the brief putrid scent. She is decked out in full Valkyrie armor, though obviously Brightwind was left at home for this one. Now, if she were part of the 'shock and awe' team... but she nods towards Jean, looking reassured with Jean's presence in the group. "Clear."

Boom-Boom has posed:
    Boomer tosses a fist-sized glowing pall of plasma at one of the remaining guard as soon as she exits the teleport disk. It should blow up their new friend but good. She chases after Pete. "'m here." she says, keying her own comm. The explosion that comes over the tactical 'net also helps identify her.

Black Rose has posed:
    Down in the sewers? In some ways, it's a good thing Yana had a light meal before she left, knowing the stress and hardship of everything she trained for would put a strain on her body. In other ways? It's worse. It's only a few moments of stepping into the sewer-system of Mojoworld that Yana Asarov begins her first real mission as a New Mutant about to go into the wretched throes of dry heaves as the putrid smell assaults her far more viciously than most of the demons ever did in any of the simulations ... Phoenix to the rescue. As Yana tries to bury that feeling the scent is -gone- and they're in a pink bubble. And Yana's nose is now Phoenix's #1 fan.

    After a few breaths of the 'clean air' that Phoenix is tricking her senses into believing she's getting, Yana exhales, cleansing her mind. She closes her eyes briefly, then re-opens them. "I'll know it before we find it. My sensory field will give me the shape of the door, however well hidden it is. Along with anyone above, below, or in the walls, Phoenix. Let's get moving."
    She looks over to Dani, nods to her and offers a tight smile, but friendly, never-the-less, shows Yana knows how serious this mission is.
    She begins to move forward, keeping a steady, but easy walking pace and remains well within the groups sight and close by. She lets her 'kinetic awareness' tell her each and every object, like doppler radar, like thermal vision, tell her where objects were. A handy ability that Jean and Scott had both been made aware of through Yana's involved training runs in the Danger Room.

Spiral has posed:
The two guards outside of Mojo-Tower were quickly subdued and exploded by Colossus and Tabitha respectively. Rogue's smash and grab slams the TV through one of the double doors just as Colossus tears through another just beside her and the twio up top are looking quite heroic and shiney as the light streams into the lobby with broken glass falling all around them and landing with slow clutters as the wall before them begins to shimmer and fade. Or at least a small area between them and the walls and slowly the form of Spiral begins to refocus and appear before the three x-men. "Oh. I was wondering when you'd show up." The witch says, five different weapons held in her many hands with one aimed towards them with her index finger inviting them to come closer.

Blue team is suffering a whole different kind of attack. Near boredom, as the crawl through the sewers is tricky, attempting to finding their footing in the muck and the dark tunnels. But quickly they come upon a path that will lead them inside the building and out of the stink-tubes. Jean and Yana will sense many guards rushing towards the nearest stair cases and elevators, but they seem to be in the advertising departments and middle managers for Mojo's entertainment empire.

Colossus has posed:
Although Colossus' preparatory speech was about caution and teamwork, this doesn't seem to preclude an aggressive plan of action as they enter the building. His survey reveals nothing notable at first, not until Spiral begins to come into view before them - teleporting, decloaking, whatever it is she does to reveal herself. With her invitation offered, the large man seems inclined to oblige, squaring up and beginning to approach, although it is not the careless all-out charge seen earlier. He is cautious, for this one is tricky, and tricky opponents are probably not his favorite. They tend to ruin the whole 'just smash it' plan.

"You have caused my friends much sadness, and for this you will answer," the man declares, before indeed lashing out with a single punch. Whatever she is capable of, his plan may as much may to be to present himself as a center of focus, a big shiny distraction for the others - especially his teamate with the serious score to settle.

Boom-Boom has posed:
    With Piotr seeming to be interested in taking on Spiral, Boom-Boom sets to doing what she was asked to do - blow things up! She starts lobbing bombs at anything breakable she sees - the giant TVs, glass things, the stairs, but as elevators start to ding she'll be throwing masses of plasma at the elevator doors, hoping to knock down whoever tries to come out. If she can get in some really big bombs to wreck the elevator cars too... so much the better.

    "Two... one..."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue landed on the floor once inside and she came to a running halt alongside Colossus, her eyes glaring at the evil woman that trashed her wedding and killed her groom. She had no words for her, she didn't care to talk to this... disgusting creature, she just wanted her dead.

Rogue glanced back to Tabitha to see their team mate laying waste to the Five Armed Bitch's building, which certainly pleased her, then she looked to Piotr to see him charging for a forward assault....

Rogue shot forward after Colossus, and if his punch didn't get through, maybe hers would. She had no power-negating bracelet on this time!

Phoenix has posed:

Phoenix's fingers knit together as she brings both indexes to the middle of her forehead and shuts her eyes. The rush of minds flowing on the other end of that path briefly fills her consciousness with snatches of thought before being pushed aside in favor of-- nothing.

Emptiness.

A void, black and endless; the opposite of being.

Moonstar, Phoenix, and Kinetic's minds vanish from the wider astral landscape, as if firewalled. More important, however, is the psychic cloak she raises around the three mutants to hide them beyond a field of sense-baffling impulses: as long as she's able to maintain her focus - and as long as the other two mutants don't stray too far - they'll be hidden from human eyes, ears, and noses.

Especially noses.

{{-- okay, there. Blue: we're sense-neutral within about ten feet of me, and headache-inducing to pay attention to out to fifteen. Watch for cameras, because it's not gonna be as consistent with those. Let's give the crowd a minute or two to thin out - nobody's coming this way, so we can wait between here and there - then grab ourselves a straggler or two, so we can get an up to date layout; clear?}}

Once confirmation is received, Phoenix leads the way down the path, hunching down at about the midway point to wait for an opportunity to present itself, just as promised. Once the crowd seems to thin, she takes the lead in creeping the rest of the way into the headquarters itself, peering about for visible cameras, then searching for cover to dart behind.

Moonstar has posed:
Dani nods silently in agreement with Jean, walking quietly along with the redhead as she glances back to Yana, making sure the other girl isn't having any trouble. Keeping a wary eye out for cameras, the Valkyrie doesn't smile despite the adrenaline of the situation... since this is serious business, after all. Even if it's Mojo.

Actually, after all that's happened... //especially// since it's Mojo.

Black Rose has posed:
    "There's movement, just to our side. Several large bodies moving through," Yana/Kinetic murmurs to Dani and Jean both, looking in the direction of that staircase.
    She'll have to ask about what 'sense neutral' means later on - vaugely wondering if Jean has the ability to 'shut down' her own kinetic sense. That thought is particularly frightening to a girl whose not only learned to live with it for several years, but has grown dependent on it.
    The thought is pushed away, as when the middle-men are done rushing around, Yana nods, "We're clear. At least for a entire floor up," she vouches, glance moving first to Dani, then to Jean.

Spiral has posed:
BLUE: The entire floor up indeed. They have a clear shot, just finish climing through the gunk of demonish bile and refuse and they're scott free to reach their way out of the sewer system and into another way to get into the security room that is their goal.

GOLD: Has a villain with some real motivation for our characters to keep them and hopefully Mojo distracted. The bombs Tabitha are throwing around the lobby are quite good at being flashy attacks with a lot of surface damage around the area, and one even shakes one of the elevators hard enough to snap its cable, causing the trasport to lurch downwards before the brakes lock it into place and the passengers climb out as quickly as they can and rush the young mutant. Colossus is almost effortlessly sidestepped by Spiral and she brings the flat of her blade to smack against his rear as he does so. Playing with her food so it seems, but then Rogue follows up, something she wasn't anticipating and the blow lands between her mutated shoulderblades. The silver haired witch is sent tumbling face first onto the tile floors with her metal weapons flying into the winds, knocked from her grasps.

Colossus has posed:
Needless to say, a little spanking with the butt of the woman's sword isn't much to slow Colossus down, even if her agility proves a bit too great for him to land a blow. He stumbles past with nothing harmed save his pride, going a few more steps before crashing up against a reception desk. Deciding that this will prove an opportune weapon, he grips around it with his great, bulging arms and rips it from the floor. Turning back, he's not ready to give up on Spiral, even if his initial assault proved the distraction that was intended and gave Rogue a good shot.

Steping toward the prone, multi-armed woman, he swings the desk at her. It's aimed so the arc begins ahead of her and then sweeps back toward the group, so that whether he connects or even if she continues to evade him, she's liked to be driven (or knocked) right back toward Rogue.

Boom-Boom has posed:
    Boomer starts to back up as she notices the guards rushing towards her. "Guys? Guys!" she calls, frantically tossing bombs to try and keep Mojo's crew off of her. If they get too close she breaks and runs around behind the Spiral-Pete-Rogue melee, still fligning plasma as she goes.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue felt the blast from Boom Boom's bombs inside that elevator (and elsewhere) which made her look back at that destruction for just a second after she landed the blow on Spiral, but seeing Colossus going in with that bench refocused her gaze and made the caped-Rogue fly forward again, this time with a gnarly scowl!

Rogue wasn't here to just punch and slap the 5-armed woman around, she was here to kill her. So barring a successful attack from Piotr, Rogue would attempt to land ON Spiral and wrap her hands around the woman's throat. Rogue could lift upwards of 75 tons or more, she had the ability to snap necks better than most and this is what she was trying to do now! Go for the kill.

Phoenix has posed:
Two middle-men don't quite make it to the elevators with the rest, having been drawn down to a lackadaisical pace by suddenly blossoming thoughts of the future.

Which probably means quite a lot of dreaming up 'Survivor: Savage Land' theories, but so it goes.

As Phoenix hunkers down behind her desk, one of the middle-managers reaches for the call button-- only to be yanked viciously backwards on twin tethers of invisible force as it lights up.

{{Okay, since we're clear for a floor, this is what we're gonna do,}} she informs Moonstar and Kinetic while coaxing the kicking, screaming men to sleep.

{{I'm gonna composite up a reliable floorplan from these two guys' brains; you guys are gonna start scouting ahead while I feed you the map, and any other useful details I can pull. Kinetic's senses'll help you guys get the drop on any other stragglers, and Moonstar should be able to shut them right down.}}

Crouching, the telepath splays her fingers on each man's brow and unmoors a piece of her consciousness to invade theirs. Carried by burning wings, her astral self divides in two, beginning the hunt for navigational and security information in earnest.

Black Rose has posed:
    "Okay," murmurs Kinetic in a quiet voice, touching her hand to her head, "This ... is pretty messed up. But, not in a bad way." Telepaths are pretty freaking cool. And, pretty damn frightening. It's something to discuss with her father, later. And she can see much clearer Diya's own dislike of them in general.
    "I'll take point," she tells Dani, "Stay close. Between you and me, they don't have a chance." The new New Mutant exhales, and begins to move up the staircase as quietly as she can. The black and yellow New Mutant outfit still looks good on her, even if her ankles might be a bit ... mucky.
    Yana moves with Dani, up the staircase, following that 'mini map' Phoenix is uploading into her brain to find the control room.

Moonstar has posed:
Moonstar nods, thinking, {Got it!} in the link, then she looks over at Yana, {Let's go get the goods and get out.} She smiles reassuringly to Yana, and then says verbally, "You'll be fine. Just stay focused." And with that, she walks along with Yana, her own yellow-and-black jumpsuit covered by the Valkyrie armor she wears.

Spiral has posed:
BLUE: With Jean staying behind and playing 'The Matrix' with her victims memories and mind, the two New Mutants are free to move up and forwards for now unimpeeded, with a 'mini map' of what the place looks like imprinted in their minds as they continue to work towrads getting to the surveilance rooms with the data of the wedding day.

GOLD: Tabitha's attacks are growing more and more effective as the tile walls and the studs behind them are being exposed via all of her bombs and the men coming down to fight her and chase her in a circle around the the three powered individuals fight in a weird game of duck duck goose. Spiral slowly starting to get up when a desk is brought down against her back and basically squishes her to the floor with a heavy blow from Colossus, pushing in the floor with a decent sized crater and a several cracks spider webbing their way around the impact. The woman doesn't move as Rogue's hand grab at her neck and yet, Rogue herself would start to feel her strength sapped quickly as she holds onto Spiral's spine. To which the woman simply coughs out before laughing mockingly.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue felt her power getting sapped from her... somehow, and it made her mouth shoot open as she released a powerful gasp! "You stupid bitch!" She shouted down at Spiral as she just started laughing, and in quick succession, the southern belle delivered a right jab and then a quick left jab! A second later and she kicked off of Spiral's chest with her leather booted feet and shot skyward in a high-arching backflip... once hovering high up in the air, she shouted down to the others.

"She's drainin' us!" A warning to her counterparters/coherts in this mission.

Black Rose has posed:
    "I hope the others are doing okay. The plan seems to be going on exactly as planned, so far," murmurs Kinetic, very quietly, to Dani. She is moving along the corridor at the top floor very slowly. But, thanks in large part to her own kinetic awareness, she is not glancing side to side, or tipping her head to listen, so much. Her field of awareness is giving her a comfortable zone to work with, and this presently is not either too different from the simulations she's run, or in fact from some of the training methods she underwent under her father's critical eye - albiet that was with men, and not demons. Or in another dimension.
    "If the map is right, the door ahead just down this right corridor will lead us directly to the control room, I think. Or at least, one of the main rooms." She's not sure if Jean is done pulling pieces of thought and memory from the demon brains yet, like Odin's Ravens, and putting them into her own.

Moonstar has posed:
Moonstar nods slightly, "Sounds like a plan to me. I don't know how long the heavies can keep attention off of us, so the sooner we get in and out the better it's gonna be." She hmmms and uses the shared map from the link as well as the sensation of Yana's senses boosting her own to get to the control room indicated by Jean in the link. "Ready?"

Colossus has posed:
Rogue's obvious rage, along with her more disturbed warning, puts things somewhat in perspective for Colossus. Ultimately, they are not the ones with the mission here, or with any mission but to make a scene, fight, and most of all, survive the whole thing while their compatriots approach the true objective. And so, as he moves toward the pair of clashing women - not entirely sure what he's actually going to do with them - he checks in with the other squad.

Although here, since they're *right* in front of one of the enemy leaders... he does it via that more silent link with Jean. "Comrade, we are here with witch-woman of many arms. She and Rogue- be quick! I think result will be best if you act quick and we are able to withdraw." Basically, he doesn't trust that this is going to go well. Maybe Rogue will murder Spiral, which while satisfying on some level, is kind of bad. Maybe she'll take away all their powers and murder them. That's definite bad.

Still, he has to do something. When Rogue kicks the woman downward and warns of whatever trickery, he quicky scans the ground around Spiral, spotting whatever weapon she might reach for first to kick away. Then he turns and takes a swipe with the desk, not at the fallen woman, but the guards increasingly encircling them.

"Boom-Boom, what is progress? See- see if can find, ah, support? Anything structural. Let us make big splash, then maybe, it is being time to go."

Boom-Boom has posed:
    Boomer pants, dodging and juking the guards as she keeps trying to incapacitate them with her time-bombs. "I'm never skipping cardio day again!" she swears to herself, breathlessly.

    "Progress?" she asks. "Uh... I'm all tim Tebow over here, but with more talent. Okay, though... let's see. Pillars! Yeah!" and she uses bit Pete as a pick while she whips up a beach ball-sized bomb, which she holds over her head.

    "Fire in the hole!" she shouts, and tosses the energy globe at what she thinks is a structural member. "Hadouken!" she cries as it goes.

    Tabby ducks and covers her ears. "... one!"

Spiral has posed:
BLUE: Dani and Yana are moving through the facility easily enough with Jean staying tied up with her captive, the trio working quite well especially with most of the people in the building fleeing and finding their way back down to the bottom floor and in quite a rush. When the entire floor, possibly the building lurches about two feet one way and then back.

GOLD: Rogue's flying away from Spiral who's now back on her back and slowly pushing herself up to her hands and feet, eyeing Colossus with a sneer before she nods with a smirk and holds all of her wrists together. "Take me then." While at the same time Tabitha's attack inside one of the exposed support beams is true and quite potent, severing one of the legs the building itself rests on, causing the lurch in the previous paragraph. Spiral glances over towards the damaged building, not even recoiling from the dust filling the lobby from the blasts. "Don't have much time. X-man." She says to Colossus.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue could feel that she was only flying due to the magical abilities of the cape around her shoulders... she could feel... pain in her fists from punching Spiral, her knuckles burned and the pain was going all the way up into her elbows...

Rogue looked down from her hands after flexing her fingers. "Pete!" She shouted at Colossus. "Don't risk it! Stay the hell away from her!"

Rogue looked to Tabitha then. "Blast the support beams and get the hell outta here, Boomer!" She shouted at the other before glaring at Spiral once more as the cape directed the hovering Rogue back toward the holes they'd smashed in the front of the building upon their arrival.

Black Rose has posed:
    One thing Kinetic/Yana was not expecting was the floor to lurch at all, and certainly not as much as it suddenly does. She reaches out, grabbing onto the first thing she can find, or reach -- which just happens to be Dani. She has a pretty good sense of balance, but that's an awful lurch -- hopefully Dani can balance against her instead of pitching with her, and the two can keep their feet.
    When the lurching stops, Yana says quickly, "I don't think we have much more time. Let's hope Phoenix catches up soon. But, let's go. Mission, right?" She takes her hand away from Dani's armor, and moves through the door, and into the control room, all the while keeping her senses attuned for any unpleasent surprises as well as for where the 'storage cabinet' might be for tapes, unless of course they're stored on a computer. She's ready to get this thing over.

Moonstar has posed:
Dani grabs onto Yana, not expecting that pitch, "Mission, yes, let's get it done. Sooner the better, since it sounds like the loud distraction is getting a bit indiscriminate about the damage." She winces a bit, then starts rifling around the room, trying to figure out where the master copies might be...

Boom-Boom has posed:
    "You havta tell me twice!" Boomer calls back to Rogue. Big bomb #2 coming up. "Ka-me-ha-me-HA!" she chants as she produces another big one and tosses that. "I'm outta here!" and she's beating feet for the exit, her long legs pumping with the effort.

Colossus has posed:
With both the warning from Rogue and the fact that taking a prisoner on *not* on the mission profile, Colossus seems inclined to take the advice. Despite Spiral's offer, he steps back from her, and if she dares push the matter... well, he still has that desk, and he's not afraid to use it!

"Sister," he now directs toward wherever Illyana is waiting. "Be ready. Blue Team will not be able to back-track on foot. Take them on instant objective is completed, and meet us where you brought us in."

Then too Jean and the Blue team itself: "We are withdrawing, and building is coming with us. Magik will extract."

True to his position leading the team, and his offer earlier of providing a defensive shield for any in need, he is the last to withdraw, as Rogue flies more rapidly and Boomer blows things and runs. He backs away, broad sweeps warding away whatever minions may attempt to halt him, before finally hurling the desk at the lot of them and turning to charge after his team.

Spiral has posed:
GOLD: Spiral has a sad look on her face as she cants it to one side even as a trail of blood drips from her hairline after the assault from Colossus has certainly done some damage. Rogue flying away certainly can feel her powers return to herself the further away she gets from Spiral. The witch then glances over to Tabitha with a soft smile and a wave of her hand. "I'm not done with you yet. X-men." She says, obviously not caring about the words they were saying or the fact that they're leaving.

BLUE: The building rocks violently once more, indicating along with Piotr's words that yes, it is time to get the **** out! The two girls sneaking forwards will make it to master control without a hitch and inside the door... a beta tape labelled 'X-men Wedding' is sitting out next to a very fancy looking control panel along with a few other things left scattered across the floor and work space, likely due to the shaking of the building.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue landed by the front doorway that Colossus had smashed through and she felt the red cape circle around her and hold her close and snug. She looked back at Piotr and Tabitha, waiting for them to catch up with her and wanting to make sure that Tabi was out first since she was the youngest.

When Pete caught up, Rogue looked to him. "We need range against her." She told Piotr then. "The close'ah I got to her the weake'ah I got." And with that said, Rogue turned to the exit and took off again in a flying lunge, with her Strange-Cloak flaring out nice and dramatically again on either sides of the mourning bride.

Moonstar has posed:
Dani snorts a bit, "Betamax? I think I saw this in a museum." She looks over at Yana, "Is it me, or is this just a bit //too// easy for that tape to be left in the open?" She balances herself carefully... after all, keeping balance on a flying horse helps deal with some building shimmies. Her eyes flicker over the scattered items, just making sure that this isn't a trap. Paranoia, thy name is Danielle.

Black Rose has posed:
    Yana grabs the wedding tape -- and two or three others, randomly that are near that well-marked one, as well, since they'll all fit in her hands. "Grab whatever you can," she tells Dani. "And anything else you think we should." Becaue, it's not like they're ever going to get the chance again. And, why not?
    And then she's reaching for her collapsable baton. The baton is empowered by her kinetic ability, and she doesn't just dent the control room computer and panel. But, the baton almost acts like if it were Wolverine's claws, rending and tearing through the computer shell and components like a hot knife through butter. Because, well, she hasn't gotten to break anything yet. And she kinda wanted to break things. And if you're going to break something, it might as well be the master control room computer, right?
    She looks back to Dani, then, baton still out, tapes in hand. "Where's Phoenix?" Because, well, she's either unaware (or more likely unwilling to learn just yet) how to 'talk back' on that telepathic frequency or even if she can.
    But it's definitely time to make it out of there. "We need to find her and get out of here. Lead the way, Moonstar." Kinetic was fine taking point when they might encounter some grunts -- but she knows Dani has some kind of easier link with Phoenix, telepathically. So, yeah. She's banking on that to help get back with Phoenix, and then back to the weird portals.
    "Too easy? I don't know. Probably? No guards. Or anything. But, collapsing building? No time really to think about it. Who the hell knows what goes on in a place like this."
    Yana's not panicking. Yet. But, there is a sense of urgency in the girl. Collapsing buildings is one of the things she can't control. She taps Dani's arm, lightly then, buffeting the girl to be able to move faster. Much faster. At a regular walking pace, Moonstar and Kinetic both will be moving instead at a near full-run gait for the average human.

Phoenix has posed:
Kinetic's senses would warn her of a swiftly flying Phoenix approaching the two students from around a corner. Phoenix, and a pair of bubble-enclosed captives bobbling through the air just a foot or two behind her.

"Do we have the objective?!" echoes down the hall, and shortly afterwards she snaps around and comes to a stop just before her students. "Other team seems to be doing its job! Are you two alright?"

The comm unit's face pushes in and twists a half turn, transmitting a mystically-laced homing signal across dimensions. {{Sending Magik our coordinates for exfil now; is everyone alright?}}

Colossus has posed:
"Da," Piotr echoes, of Rogue's assessment of the witch. "Though desk also worked well." He can't quite help himself "But today... today is not day for her." THAT needs be said, just to remind Rogue that this is far from finished. Despite the shock and awe of their frontal assault, this was a recon mission. This was fact-finding. It was also a bit of beehive kicking, and adding a collapsing building to the list of accomplishments ought to help on that score.

"Sister, do you have them? Let us leave this terrible place."

Sure, they're going someplace even worse, but will just be for a moment. Once Illyana has appeared and created her discs once more, Colossus signals the rest of the team to go, while he stands guard against any hostile natives of Mojoworld that may be descending upon them. And once he is sure his team is accounted for, only then does he turn to step through.

Black Rose has posed:
    "Got the tape, and more," Kinetic agrees with Phoenix, "Let's get out of here. Not really a fan of being in a large building about to tip over on it's side, or collapse in on itself." For her part, she seems relieved to see Phoenix that their leader is both okay, and she and Dani didn't have to hunt for her either. Time wasted.

    Once the three women are together, and the portal is open, she will actually let Dani step through first, exchange a quick look with Jean before she closes her eyes again, and steps through portal. They'll see what they got on the other side.
