Cast of Characters: Jessica Jones, Iron Fist

Jessica Jones has posed:
Another night, another bar, and tonight seems to be Josie's on Jessica's rotation. The bar having been packed earlier when she arrived, she's sitting at a corner table, observing all the misreable sods who come to this hole, while sipping on her Elijah Craig, whiskey choice of the day. It more or less falls on what Josie has in stock on any given night really. No complex math there.

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny was never much for alcohol. It just didn't appeal to him. But he did like making friends, and Matt was supposed to meet him at Josie's bar, so Danny arrived dressed in his civilian clothes. He had on what would be described as a bohemian outfit, with sea green pants, probably made from hemp, a white v-neck shirt, and a grey coat, which hung open. He had white sneakers on, but no socks, and had a beige backpack slung over his shoulders.

When he arrived, he looked out for Matt, figuring he'd be easy to see. But while looking, he caught sight of Jessica Jones. Thinking that they were friends, yeah, Danny actually thought that, he made his way over to her, "Jessica, hello, how are you. And Happy Christmas." He invited himself in, taking a seat at her corner table, without even being told he could, since he thought they were good friends. She was one of his closest friends. Given their personalities, it was a wonder how she even tolerated him. And then, he probably earned that friendship with, "can I get you anything?"

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica is still working on her drink at her table, when she spots Danny Rand walking in, sporting his unassuming hobo look. 'Homeless Chic' as Jess might call it if she were asked to describe it. They do work together as part of the Defenders, so she doesn't complain when he approaches her. Though she might take issue with being dubbed his friend, thankfully, she doesn't know that's how he thinks of her. "A Merry fucking Christmas to you too, Danny," she raises her glass, "your fav holiday I take it?" Just a question, before pointing at the drink she's working on, "you can get me another Elijah Craig, that would be pretty ballin' of you. You can get yourself one too, might work well with your chakras or whatever voodoo you do."

Iron Fist has posed:
That smile turned into a sort of cough, sort of smirk, and sort of exhalation of air, when she swore. He lifted his right hand, as if he were lifting a glass in cheer to her, returning the gesture. "Yeah, actually, my mom and dad always loved Christmas, with decorations, food, friends, we spent a couple of them at Disney World. A sunny Christmas is kind of surreal, isn't it?" As if she had experienced it too. Yeah, even his life in this world is way different than most people's.

"Sure, Elijah Craig?" and he got up, heading to the bar to get her another one. He'd come back with two, plus a cup of tea." He set one down in front of her, with a coaster, and a coaster under his tea. The extra Elijah Craig went sort of between them, also under a coaster. "You can have the second one if you like. I don't think it would work too well with my... voodoo." Yeah, he wasn't too happy with it being called Voodoo, but he was trying to be friendly.

Jessica Jones has posed:
"Well, your childhood must have been better than mine, let's drink to that," Jessica offers, smirking at how Danny appears visibly uncomfortable by her language. "Yeah...I'm sure it is," is about all that Jessica would offer, Christmas really pisses her off. Honestly, the next salvation army guy that bothers might just get a fist in his face for his trouble. Might. She's not really that bad. Mostly.

Jessica nods as Danny confirms the Elijah Craig order with her, "it's whiskey, and it's good," and then she sees him with a cup of tea. "You have got to be kidding me, you got Josie to serve you tea? Fucking Josie gave you fucking tea? You are special, Danny." She shakes her head as Danny seems to chicken out of trying her recommendation of Elijah Craig, but willingly accepts, "I will definitely take you on that offer. So long as you have all the tea."

She takes another long swig of her glass, before asking, "so how does that voodoo of yours work, seriously? Could anyone do it?"

Iron Fist has posed:
Orphaned at ten, and raised by monks who could easily be described as brutal, somehow, Danny Rand had a better childhood than Jessica Jones? Still, he drank to it, offering his cup of tea to clink against her Elijah Craig. "I believe the phrase is, this is not my first rodeo?" He explains as to why and how he got Josie to serve him tea. He was a hard man to say no to when he wanted something. Money really helped too. But Danny chose to imagine it was his charm that won the day in the end. "We all have our chi. With practice and meditation, you would be capable of great er things. You have it within you, just as everyone else. If you would like, come by the dojo. Colleen or I would be very willing to help you. And, is that what you want for Christmas, or was there something else you wanted?" He wanted to get her a Christmas gift, but he didn't know her all that well, and she was a hard person to read. Really, the easiest one would be to buy her an expensive bottle of Whiskey, or a case, or a factory. But that would be sad.

Jessica Jones has posed:
"Wait, wait, wait, don't tell me..." Jessica cries out, pressing one hand to her temple as if she was a telepath, "you...paid for Josie to stock up on tea, and she accepted, am I right or am I right?" It's her suspicion either way. She shakes her head at the suggestion she has 'chi' in her, "no, Danny, you got Chi, I got Elijah Craig," she raises her glass and downs it, before pushing the empty glass away and bringing the one he just brought her closer to her side of the table. "Seriously, thought, Danny, I respect your wealth and all...but don't get me anything, Christmas really is one big suck fest. I would like to experience as little of it as I humanly can."

Iron Fist has posed:
Danny didn't answer her. He didn't want to lie to her. And he had promised not to admit that Josie liked tea herself. "Something like that," he said, which wasn't a lie, and wasn't the truth. It felt weird giving these ambiguous answers. Almost hurt him. And Jessica's pretty sure he was holding something back, since Danny is a terrible liar. "Oh, all right. So no trip to Tahiti." That was a joke, though it too was hard to tell. "Just, uh, forget about the Christmas card you'll probably be receiving any day now. I sent it out before I knew."

Jessica Jones has posed:
"So...you can twist the truth, huh? Not gonna lie, I'm impressed Rand," Jessica goes as far as to offer token applause, even if it does get drowned by the noise of the bar. Hell, a bad liar and an ace PI isn't a good combination for fooling someone. She does look a bit surprised about that last part, "why would it take a trip to Tahiti?" She has to ask, it's a very specific destination. She does wave her hand dismissively when the Christmas card is mention, "that I'll forgive you."

Iron Fist has posed:
"I figure Tahiti is about as far from Christmas, as far from anywhere, as you can get... in this world." He didn't respond to the thing about his half truth, or whatever it was. "Glad to hear it," he added about the Christmas card as he carefully drank his tea. He didn't sip it. He drank it. Just slowly. And with precision. It was almost ritualistic. He liked tea. It was comforting. It was homey. "Any interesting cases of late?"

Jessica Jones has posed:
Jessica actually laughs before her next swig, "that's a lovely gesture, Danny, thank you," she actually sounds pretty sincere. "I did get one interesting offer, haven't decided if I'll take it yet...mostly because they bothered me on my lunch break."

Iron Fist has posed:
"If it's interesting, you should probably take it. An interesting path is better for the chi than a mundane one." Of course, he probably just sealed it that Jessica won't take it. She seemed to love the mundane, to keep things normal, and quiet. Sometimes, he wondered if her perfect day was her sitting alone, bored out of her mind...
