Cast of Characters: Rift, Dazzler

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua is in the foyer dust-mopping the ceiling. She is standing on the ceiling, as if it's a floor. It's something she likes to do to exercise fine control of her abilities - and keep lesser-cleaned parts of the mansion clean. She hmmmmms happily. "Maybe a wet mop next - but such pretty wood would be a shame to get wet..." she muses, her red glow possibly eye-catching from below. After that, she gets a cloth out of her pocket and a spraycan of metal cleaner to start polishing the chandeliers, humming happily, the dustmop laying on the ceiling in its own red glow.

Dazzler has posed:
The security cameras would pick up someone walking up the front drive of the mansion. No alarms, however. Whoever it is got through the gate with a fingerprint scan. The blonde woman is wearing torn jeans, comfortable boots, a flannel shirt and a cowboy hat. She has a guitar in a case slung over one shoulder, and opens the front door with a key.

Pushing it open wide, she throws both arms up wide and calls out. "Heeeeeel-llooooooo, Xavier's! She's back! The one... the only... DAZZZZ-LERRRRRRR!" And that's when the entire entryway becomes awash in swirling, colorful lights like a dance floor.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua blinks as suddenly the door opens. She looks up (down) to see.. Ms. Blaire coming back! She was about to say hih when she suddenly yells out and starts blasting the air with bright lights. Kitora meeps, startled. She stays put. The dust mop on the other hand... she loses her 'grip' on it and it falls down, apparently destined to crash right down on your head. She squints, losing track of it in the lights, unable to reacquire the lock. "Look out!" she calls - but is she in time?

Dazzler has posed:
Fortunately, Dazzler can make more than just pretty lights. And she's also spent quite a bit of time fighting for her life in gladiator arenas, so her defensive instincts are pretty sharp. Ali's reaction is immediate, summoning a construct that's a bubble of solid light like a protective iglo over her. It's moderately soft and resilient, allowing the mop to bounce a couple times on the way down.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua blinks. "Hi Ms. Blaire," she states, ascending (down) toward the ground. "Sorry, you kinda scared me. I lost my hold on the mop that I left there." She touches down and inverts herself so her feet touch the floor as her glow winks out. "I was just cleaning the ceiling when... you dazzled me." She grins. "Glad to see you back. You missed the entire fall term... I was starting to worry."

Dazzler has posed:
Ms. Blaire keeps the shield up for a few moments, crouched reflexively and going into a combat stance. "What the hell...?" she mutters, looking around quickly. The deadly mop is spotted, then, and she looks up at the sound of the voice. "Oh hi, Kitora. Sorry if I startled you." Danger past, she drops the shield and steps over to pick up the mop. Tossing it lightly upward, she grins. "And thanks. It's good to be back." Even if there isn't any explanation of where she's been.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods slowly. "Yeah - I was just cleaning. I volunteer to do those so I can get a unique perspective on things." The mop glows in the air and stays still, then floats to her hand. "I'll just go put this away." Kitora's clothes are a bit dusty from being in the dust. "It's amazing how dusty ceilings can get." She smiles faintly. "So - did you have fun doing... whatever you were doing?"

Dazzler has posed:
Ali looks up at the redhead, hands on her hips. "I did, yeah. I call it a 'journey of self-discovery'. The more cynical might call it hitchhiking down the coast and playing in seedy bars, but I'm not one to split hairs. Good experience, no matter what you call it."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods slowly. "Did you discover much about yourself?" she asks. "Oh - there might be some food left in the dining hall. With me and two speedsters now..." She grins widely. "Yeah, we have another speedster." She hmmmmmms softly.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison rolls her eyes at that, chuckling softly. "It's good thing they keep the kitchen stocked well." she replies. "And I've sort of rediscovered that I like singing again. And performing. Even if I'm not singing Dazzler songs and running my own light show." She unslings the guitar case, then, holding it lightly by the handles. "You speedsters leave me any ice cream, or is that a stupid question?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua shrugs. "I'm not technically a speedster - I just eat like one." She hmmmmms softly. "Yes, there's some ice cream left. We all seem to veer towards protein-based foods - ice cream isn't as good of a fuel."

Dazzler has posed:
Ali flashes a grin at that, nodding as she heads towards the kitchen. "Good. That's more for me, then." she offers. "Come and join me? I've probably got a lot of catching up to do since I've been away." Ali pauses a few steps into the walk, then her brows knit. "My, um, room hasn't been given away, has it?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua ponders. "I think the Bamfs took up residence in it. Though maybe I'm thinking of something else," she states with a straight face. For a moment, then she giggles. "Honestly, I don't know but I doubt it. I'm sure that Professor Xavier would make sure it was waiting for you." She hmmmmms softly as they walk into the cafeteria. The workers are even starting to get used to Kitora's frequent visitors, but smile as they see you. "So - I'll just have a banana split," she muses.

Dazzler has posed:
Alison wrinkles her nose at that. "Place will smell like sulfur for weeks." she replies. The giggle evokes a grin, however, and she laughs as well. "He's probably picked another music teacher, which is fine by me. I ran a pretty loose classroom." Reaching the cafeteria, she considers her choices. "A banana split it is, then. After all, it's got fruit in it. How bad can it be, right?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Ms. O'Neal is the music teacher now," she muses. She waits for the banana splits and grins when they arrive. She hmmmmms happily as she looks at you. "Not very healthy for those with normal-speed metabolisms, I'd surmise." She hmmmmms. "So - you going to start teaching again?"

Dazzler has posed:
"Tates? Oh, excellent choice!" Ali replies, leaning a hip against the counter to wait as well. Shrugging, she replies. "I'll help wherever I can, of course. But Ms. O'Neal has a really good background in classical music. I'm just a performer."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "I'd love to hear one of your songs," she muses, clicking her tongue as she finishes her split rather quickly. She sighs happily as she waits for you to finish.

Dazzler has posed:
Dazzler smiles at that, taking her time with the dessert once the two find a table. Spoon scrapes lightly along the glass bowl while she eats, and she nods. "Oh, when I perform one of my songs I need to run the full light show." she replies. "But yes, I'll put on a concert for the school sometime very soon."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "I'll look forward to it. I remember that show you did..." She trails off. "Last Christmas was it? Or the one before last? Something like that." She smiles faintly. "Well... it's good to have you back. You've been missed." With that, Kitora stands, bows, and then turns to leave.
