Cast of Characters: Savage Dragon, April O'Neil, Power Girl

Savage Dragon has posed:
Wonderful and glorious New York weather of a comfortable 70 degrees. Much warmer than recent days and one that has the Goodman building of Manhattan bustling with cheerful attitudes, high activity and a lot of noise. Plenty. It's a news station after all. Coffee has replaced blood here for these people long ago.

"And thats a wrap, Jane." A man announces, a tablet being 'clacked' together and closed. The year 2026 has given way to many advancements in technology, especially where media is concerned, half the people who work here can hardly be classified as people, simple program machines with basic functions, floating cameras to catch all angles, it's fancy and ultra-future. Expensive is another word for it.

Even security is fairly expensive, enough so they have fancy laminated badges, stun batons and one actual robot on duty. Not that it does much other than cite laws and regulations or offer assistance to call real authorities.

Sadly, this same robot is the first victim in an alarming and sudden display as it releases a "REEEEEWWWWW" and shoots across the station's floor, 14th floor to be exact, rams in to the opposing wall and spits sparks in all directions, theres a chorus of surprised noises, exclaimations and a tech shouting, "Not again!"

Not again? This happens it appears. Today not by any technical failure, no, that poor 'droid' was just assaulted by what appears to be an even larger one that is standing at the elevator opening, tall, about seven feight in height, a glossy black dome over it's face location and long limbed, bulky. Arms glowing with illumination in places along with a red G in the center of it's chest, a loud amplified voice shouts out, "MISS O'NELL!" The sound booming, terrifying. Turning around that same machine fires a blast at the elevator shaft, blowing it out of the wall.

"Hello, my name is Glum and I am here to interrupt this live broadcast."

"We... we're not live anymore." A man says from behind a desk, "We went off air ten minutes ago."

There is a sound guttural, raged and that man who just spoke up is releasing a shriek as the desk he is hiding behind explodes!
"Whatever foolish cretin, where is April O'NeLL? I want April O'NeLL right here right now and I want your cameras online! IMMEDIATELY Or I start destroying all the things. All of them." A plant by the door is obliterated with a laser blast on emphasis. Poor poor ficus.

April O'Neil has posed:
April O'NEIL has a cubical on the western wall on the complete opposite side of the room from where the elevators are... with all the other cubicals between her and them. She's loved so much in the C6 News Department that her desk is pushed right up next to the little hallway that leads into the Restrooms, and its closest to the MEN'S restroom as well. (Nobody here really likes her, or so she believes based on her daily life here).

When the familiar voice booms, and action starts to unveil itself, April's redhead peaks up from behind her cubical with her glasses-covered blue eyes looking across the news offices.

"Shit." She quietly mutters, ducking her head back down behind the cubical wall, she starts to frantically grab for her phone and dial 911!

The Chief of C6 Eyewitness News steps out of her office, a middle aged woman with dark skin and curly black hair all tied up ontop of her head. She looks at the 'thing' attacking her office and she scowls.

"Just what in the hell do you think you're doing to my news room?" The Chief asks, annoyance clear on her voice.

Savage Dragon has posed:
"I am Glum, you can all call me MISTER GLUM." The robotic creature declares, that reflective visor hiding anything beyond it. The shape clearly humanoid, large, it lopes more than walks, sort of like a gorilla thats dragging knuckles.

"Your news room is now MINE!" He declares and a 'Megaman' style arm rises up, claws open up and energy flares to life on the front. It looks about to shoot the Chief. She best get down! No, it doesnt shoot her as a very loyal interm trips, falls and valiantly appears to sacrifice himself only to leave behind a bowtie and pair of glasses.
"Brave." No. Gravity fail.

Cameras are indeed rolling now though, those small floating ones are springing up everywhere. One by one theyre igniting with tiny lights to begin live footage. "Yes, yes, all eyes on Glum. SHOW YOURSELF O'NELL OR MORE DIE!"
A balding man with glasses is pointed at, that laser starting to power up again, "I have so many hostages and so little time."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl, wrapped in a fluffy pink bathrobe and smelling of all sorts of fantastic bath oils, makes her way into her living room in order to watch a certain program that comes on after the evening news. In one hand, is a TV dinner- she only has so much time, when twelve hours of her day is spent flinging buses at people that need buses thrown at them- and the other holds a phone, on which is a Very Specific App. She's doing a lot of swiping right, but as usual, it's not really doing a whole lot of good.

Setting the heat-visioned (Some things are faster and easier for aliens) meal onto a table ill-fitting for someone as wealthy as she, she eyes the TV, and immediately sees a poor fellow being utterly destroyed. On television, no less. She tosses her phone into the embrace of her far-too-comfortable chair, the sigh that comes from her more exhasperated than it has any right to be.

    "Dicks."

Her arrival is thunderous- she'd been in Metropolis mere portions of a second ago, and now, even as the laser starts revving up again- perhaps even firing- it finds a target well beyond tough to sink into. There is a rush of air that follows her, and everyone's papers likely go everywhere, but right on Television, in all her eternally frustrated but very photogenic glory, is Power Girl, there to take the hit and save the day.

Depending on the power of the shot, the man wielding it might be altogether depressed at the results.

April O'Neil has posed:
Because its a News Room, there are already camera's coming online, the place was filled with them afterall. The employees of the station were putting out emergency phone calls while others were watching in horror when the 'Robot Maniac' attacked and obliterated poor Troy the Intern!

The Station Chief just ducks and shouts then crawls back into her office. "I do not get paid to deal with this kind of bullshit!" and her office door is slammed shut with the blinds on it rattling against the glass window pane.

"Okay, okay!" April steps out from behind her cubical with her hands up, a yellow hoodied tied around her waist, tshirt and blue jeans on. "Just-st-stop, alright?"

The redhead was about to speak further when POWER GIRL arrived in a whirlwind of motion that made more people gasp and more camera-shutter noises click their way out of their phones.

Savage Dragon has posed:
The menace that Mister Glum 'the robot' presents is pretty apparent when the bowtie and glasses hit the ground, live on television a person just executed in such a fashion. News 6 is getting one hell of a scoop tonight and then, Power Girl! Rerouting from the aim that April was getting, behind that glossy visor its hard to see his grin but it fades when the Kryptonian makes her arrival.

ZAP ZAP
it hurts. It has enough impact to destroy people, melt through most composites but for Power Girl? Well, it burns, the intensity of it is impressive but nothing she hasn't felt before.
"One of you, I am prepared." He announces proudly and his opposing hand opens up throwing a small orb at her, "Catch this you buxom monster woman." What is it? WHy an explosive of course. Far more than 'Earth's expected ordinance ranges. Hopefully she is as swift as one would think.

"O'NeLL, you can save all of these people by submitting to captivity."

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is something like the queen of the no-sell. Others underestimate the intimidation factor of making something that did hurt look like it didn't, or doesn't- but not Power Girl. The strike hits her, doing little in comparison to the heat of the sun, or the sensation of being hit by a laser that could obliterate a city. She can tank it effectively.

"I really, really don't think you're prepared. Nobody is -ever- prepared."

Then, a small explosive is flung her way. Time sort of stops for her- she measures the light coming off of it, looks through it using the x-ray vision, as it flows through the air towards her- she isn't necessarily the person that invented it, but she does know some stuff about alien tech... And she's also a damned genius.

There's really only one thing to do about this particular ordinance, and she does so without thinking. She catches it, and then clutches it down, clenching everything and holding it tight to her midsection, putting the impervious flesh of a full-might Kryptonian in between the blast and anyone it might harm.

Kind of like the superhero variant of flinging herself on the grenade.

April O'Neil has posed:
"No, wait!" April says when she watches the horrible Mr. Glum doing his things. Where did he even get that robot suit from? Where was Angel?

When the explosive is tossed at the lone superhero who's come to save this office full of J. Jonah Jameson employees, LOTS of people duck behind their cubicals (under estimating that bomb's powers?).

April runs down the aisle of cubicals and right toward where Power Girl was. "I can surrender, I can stop this!" She shouts. "Nobody else has to get hurt!" She even goes so far as to put her hands up ontop of her head... but her eyes go over to Power Girl as she watches the blonde hunker down over that explosive. "Oh god."

Savage Dragon has posed:
It is an impressive explosive that object thrown, a shaped charge it'll blow out one direction which is facing in towards Power Girl's curled figure and holding enough impact that should it have not been directed, clutched and aimed as it is the entire building might have gone down. Enough it could have easily leveled an entire skyscraper. Just maybe knock the wind out of a Kryptonian and let them feel alive. Then, closer held as it is, who knows, that depends entirely on Power Girls fortitude and just how well her rather impressive chest can smother the expulsion of force.

Mister Glum in his power suit steps back, armor plating fans out around both forearms and is held up as if he is likewise preparing for the absolute worst.
"NOW YOU AND EVERYONE HERE DIES O'NELL!" Yeah, his volume setting is on HIGH and he is all sorts of shouting. The brilliance of the white light emitting from that explosion is blinding, a strobe of stars gifted to anyone watching it and then... its just gone. Are they dead? No. The building is still firmly under their feet. Cameras are fried unfortunately. People are stumbling around blind, "I'm dead! I can't see! I can't feel my hands or feet or face!" Some cries loudly.
"Oh my god, everything is white and black, are we in hell or heaven?" Its a dribble of different responses, one to the next all their own experience. No, fortunately none are dead thanks to the hero present.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl lets out an "Oof."

Frankly, the building should no longer exist, and were Power Girl any other kind of alien, it likely wouldn't exist- and somehow, she'd exist even less than the building, having taken the blast like she did. But, she's there. And she's just made a noise of pain- but she isn't injured.

Seems like her chest can smother literally anything, explosion, person, or otherwise. Frankly, it's certainly big enough.

There's this... Sigh. Annoyed. Frustrated- in various ways- but still a sigh. She's still standing, unlike what Glum figured she'd be. It took her a moment to catch her breath, everyone around her allowed to panic in the face of it- but other than knocking the air out of her... Well, she is who she is.

"That had a kick to it." she offers, moments after the explosion. "I'll give you that."

Then, she flings herself forward, not-quite-at the sound barrier, but close to it, certainly so fast that if the cameras were still rolling, it might look like a jump-cut.

Her first attack on this armored man is a shoulder-check, aiming to dent and test the resiliency of the armor he's wearing. If anything, it ought to return the favor and wind him- but she's mostly testing the waters to see just how much strength she needs to employ to pull apart his arsenal.

April O'Neil has posed:
An explosion going off a few feet away from you, that should've--by all rights--obliterated you and everything/one around you... thats kind of an odd feeling, especially since what stopped it from DOING that is a woman who looks, well, like an underwear model!

"Jesus, christ." April mutters, observing this. Her hands come down from atop her head and she glares at Mr. Glum. In the resulting chaos she dives behind another cubical. "You were just going to kill me anyway?! You're such an asshole, you little creep!" She shouts over the desk and then peers around it to see Power Girl heroically going to all of C6's aide! Oh how the poor young reporter wishes she'd been born with amazing powers like that.

Savage Dragon has posed:
"HAHAh ah... what the fu--- " CRASH the slam of Power Girl in to Glum's power suit sends him sliding across the office floor exploding though desks, shelves, a camera set up and finally in to a waterjug that bursts with its contents. Staggering upright he wobbles, "Who .... what, why?" Apparently dazed, "You're ridiculous. Everything about you is ridiculous." Those blasters come up and he opens fire on Power Girl, unfortunately this means the entire area is being ray beamed by machinegun fire, including April's general direction. She did crush the side of his suit though. He was not prepped for her, not quite this time around. Savage Dragon levels are not Power Girl levels. Not even on a good day.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is faster than a speeding bullet- and, admittedly, faster than light, when she has to be... But only outside of the atmosphere. Sadly, within the atmosphere, there's an enormous amount of danger in doing so. As a result, she can't just flit around and take all the hits.

She makes a grindingly angry noise, her teeth grit, she wastes no time in moving forward, a hand reaching out for the blasters. Though not necessarily her bare hands, her gloves are clearly not powered and indeed all the strength that is being applied is her own- because if she grasps them, she'll be crushing them underneath her fingers. In addition, the primary measure is to lift the blasters and point them at something that human beings aren't hiding behind.

"I get that a lot." is all she says in response to being called ridiculous. After all, she is pretty ridiculous.

April O'Neil has posed:
And here's little ol' April O'Neil, on the exact opposite of the power scale from the badass Power Girl.

With her hands up on the edge of the desk she's hiding behind, April's eyes look over to her left and she can see one of her fellow co-workers, a middle aged portley man with grey hair and a grey beard. Jim St. Jahns. The one person in the office that was NICE to April... and he has a piece of metal firmly lodged in his stomach... and is laying beneath his desk choking on his own blood.

April shoves off of the desk and she rushes over to him as blaster fire from Mr. Glum's Robot Armor explodes the desk and the spot she'd JUST vacated.

Rodey-running toward Jim, April crouches and tries to frantically help him.

"Jim!" April says, taking her hood off to wrap it around the wood and apply pressure. "You're gonna be fine!" She tries to encourage him as his eyes look at her, full of fear and confusion.

Savage Dragon has posed:
The power suit is impressive, it is strong enough to give her resistance in the upwards press and crush, the forced exertion actually causing them to bust around the 'hands' and *popfizzle* with the exertion, "WHOAH my suit!" The voice cries out from beyond the mask. Reflective visor hiding the expressions underneath.

It's a glow of that G on it's chest, a shine that fires up, flares bright red and then starts to wash outwards, 'showering' Power Girl in a particle beam. It's once more, not on par with Kryptonian levels but it at least feels like a good solid hammering of punching blows. Repeated.

"Damnit, damnit, I will have my revenge! You want stop me you big beastly Earth skag" Glum protests, he is almost wining now, the laser shots pockmarking the ceiling and fizzling out with the destruction.
"APRIL ONELL YOU WILL DIE BY GLUMS HAND!" He screeches and jerks, trying to turn Power Girl, physical weight wise possible, strenght wise, if she resists arms are going to be removed from the power suit. Which is fine, since the limbs are empty. Only the torso is occupied.

Power Girl has posed:
There's another grunting noise as the emblem on the armor's chest pummels her own. Admittedly, going for Power Girl's chest is probably not the... Easiest route. There's- We'll call it armor. There's more armor there. It results in a noise from her- but it isn't necessarily enough to stop her just yet.

Power Girl is a genius- but she hasn't x-rayed the armor yet, to find out how much of it is occupied, so as the thing tries to turn her, of course she resists... Finding her hands holding, well, the arms of what is now less of a suit and more of a mechanized set of prosthesis?

The next second- or less- is spent looking through the armor with x-ray vision, to pinpoint exactly where in the armor there's flesh, and where there isn't.

Then- hopefully before he can do more violence, she starts ripping and tearing, to disable every portion of suit that looks both weaponized and isn't fleshy. That'll include the chest laser.

April O'Neil has posed:
April is busily trying to apply what little first aide techniques she knows to the man who's seemingly dying in front of her while she curls her legs beneath her and tries to grab at her cell phone to use it, but its... of course its not working now, when its needed most.

She could hear what sounded like the two fighting, and she was certainly hoping that Power Girl was as strong as she'd heard she was. Doing the sidejob that April O'Neil does, she's heard of Power Girl and seen footage of her online

"Kick his little red ass!" April shouts after giving a glance up over the edge of the desk while she frantically tries to keep her coworker from bleeding out on the floor of their besieged office.

Savage Dragon has posed:
Glum's little red ass? Yes that is very much a thing as Power Girl discovers in shredding that power suit like an old paper bag, limbs, legs, torso, ripped away to reveal a small foot and a half tall red man with an overlarge head in a full body technosuit, a blaster in hand.

He takes a running leap off the suit racing across the floor towards April O'Niel, entirely unmindful of Power Girl right now let her busy herself with his automated fail fighting suit. He'll have to go for stronger, better, faster next time.

"RAWARRRRRRRRRRR DIEDIEDIEDIE!" Dying? No all of her work she just put in to her coworker is pointless as his head *pops* with a ion blast. Glums handblaster firing off spitfire at April, "You filthy wretched earthlings, all will bow to Glum!"

If not for noisy he would be a hard one to see racing between the wreckage of desks and office space.

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl is not necessarily surprised, but on the same token, she still has a lot of suit to deal with. She crushes what she can, but the tiny red man with the tiny gun isn't necessarily quite... AS important as the suit that could at any moment fire a weapon and kill someone.

As soon as she hears the sound of someone being murdered, though, her attention shifts- she can only spare so much- so she gives the red man a wink.

Mostly because she can only pin-point a gun so tiny with one eye's worth of heat vision. Both eyes would risk killing or injuring him. From behind, apparently ignored, and somewhat still wrestling with what remains of the suit, Power Girl fires a single ray to destroy the weapon before he can fire again.

April can probably handle it from there, to be honest.

April O'Neil has posed:
So to be trying to help save the life of the only man in the office who nice to her, only to watch his head explode like a balloon full of goo? April screams, but the scream is cut off by the sudden realization that Glum is right THERE!

"Asshole!" April shouts at the little red man. "Dragon's gonna rip your head off!" She shouts back at him before the heat vision beam comes zipping in and sizzles the gun in Glum's hand!

Thats when SHE reacts by reaching into her pocket and pulling out her pepper spray... and much like the two cans of spraypaint the other night, April is now washing Glum's face with pepper-spray while filled with fright that he's got some other horrible trick up his sleeve to kill her!

Savage Dragon has posed:
LIke some raging ball of well... red rage he throws himself at April even as Power Girl melts the firearm, with a wink! It curls up in his hand and he tosses it aside only to wide and flying gag on a mouthful of Pepper Spray, it chokes down. His already bugged eyes go wide and he slams paster with a loud crash in to a mail train, it crumples under him and he kicks it aside. Much stronger than his deceiptively small size, probably about as strong as a football player but in the scope of ants to Gods, he is very much on the lower scale to someone like Power Girl. It's a mad dash of streaming teary eyes that hes running for the wall, a window, or what he thinks to be a window only to run in to a television screen and it folds around him in a smash. Legsflailing and kicking.

Power Girl has posed:
By the time she hears the noise of him running into the television, Power Girl is literally compressing the armor into a harmless enough shape- she knows enough not to breach any containers that need to stay safe, or any power cells.

She lets the metal shell fall to the ground, just as she zips over to the television in which the red man is almost certainly caught. She wastes no time in reaching forward, her intent to pull him from the television in one hand, and with the other, she aims to flick the red man in the head- with -just- enough strength to, hopefully, knock him out.

April O'Neil has posed:
April is on her feet amidst all the chaos with a lot of her co workers peering and standing up as well. She moves over to follow after Power Girl when she sees him engaging Glum.

With a quick look given over to the smashed-up-armor-suit that Glum had been using, she narrows her blues and looks back to the blonde. "Smash him like ethat!" She says, pointing at Glum. "He's a monster who's killed at least two people here! The little red prick deserves to get squashed like a ketchup package!"

She's pissed, to say the least and if not restrained she's going to march right over there and spray the remainder of her pepper spray right into Glum's face. "Choke on it!"

Savage Dragon has posed:
Glum's abrupt lift at the hand of Power Girl has him swinging at her, wide haymaker that will connect with nothiing he can hurt if he does but then its more Pepper Spray, wheezing and sucking of it in before his head rockets back skull thwapped. A roll forth then back before he is slackening in her grasp entirely, just hanging there full on ready for any sort of abuse furthered by emptying that protective cannister up in his extradimensional red face. The angry mupper is downed.

It is during this commotion and crazy that stairs have been getting scaled long legged lunging step after step of Savage Dragon as he hurries to stop the small maniac from hurting April O'Niel his, sort of girlfriend? He is not sure. Their last night together rather made all of that uncertain and he has given the woman space. Rightfully so, he has enemies and she is now sharing some of them.

With him are other fine members of the NYPD but theyre steps behind, on duty unlike him. He is in a track suit, black and white striped nothing special. A door to the service elevator burts off hinges to admit him and soon the police, they flood in to join Power Girl, the news crew some of them sobbing down their dread, terror and loss as they show to be dedicated pros! FILMING!

Power Girl has posed:
Power Girl hands over the culprit to the police, storing him inside basically whatever will hold him that is tough enough that he won't be able to get out. Now that she's seen his strength, she has at least a good gauge of how strong it needs to be.

"This time, it's... A couple counts of murder. Next time I'll be ready, he's a little trickier than I was ready for." she notes, lamenting the man whose head the small laser removed. Pinching at the bridge of her nose, she folds her arms. She spends the rest of her time calming people down and helping with the cleanup- a decidedly Metropolitan thing.

April O'Neil has posed:
It doesn't take long after the police to show up for the C6 News Chief to come out of her office and she's taking a second to talk to one of the police officers, to help some of the other employees toward the staircase exits beside the elevator and then... she looks to April, who was on her way toward Savage Dragon's place when he showed up.

"O'Neil!" The Chief says. "You're done here. Get your stuff and get out. You're as fired as fired can get."

April staops in her tracks. "I'm -what-?!" She shouts back at her 'boss'. "I didn't do any of this!" She motions to the destroyed offices.

"You brought your shit here when we've told you not to investigate dangerous things, and look what happened! People are dead!" She motioned to the little bowtie on the floor left behind by the Intern and the body of Jim being tended to by the medics.

April looks to the cops, to the others in the room. "Fine." She says then, moving to the back of the room to get her belongings (which weren't a lot of things).

Savage Dragon has posed:
Dragon arrives in time to hear April getting fired, get sectioned off by the police actually on duty as they secure Glum from Power Girl and start taking questions. It isn't exactly like he knows what to say now, just, watching it all unfold and unable to really offer an apology, that list is stacking way too much. His hand rises up, he lifts it like he wants to call out to the woman but just lets it fall, mouth closing.
At least he got to make sure April is safe and thats some piece of mind for Dragon.
